"When: every first and third Sunday from 9am to 1pm The Rice Village Farmers Market is one of the best weekend spots for on-site cooking, new food trucks, and market staples. Walking around the Rice Village District parking lot, you can try baked jalapeno cheddar sourdough from Jane Wild or freshly made tamales from Cochinita and Co. Make sure to grab a bag of chile limon tortilla chips and jars of raw honey, named after local neighborhoods from Bee 2 Bee. This twice-a-month market is perfect for stopping by while in the village shopping, needing some fresh flowers for the week, or looking for a family-friendly Sunday hang." - chelsea thomas, gianni greene, julie takahashi

This market is open the 1st and 3rd Sunday of every month, We looked at everything and found some great coffee. District Coffee Roasters had a 12 ounce bag of Whiskeey Whisper Reserve Coffee that had an amazing aroma in the bag and backed up with great taste, my wife loved it too. Lots of amazing looking baked goods but no one had any keto, I was hoping.....took pics of everything.

Really enjoyed this market! Tons of different foods and samples aplenty! Highly recommend the buffalo chicken pie at Miya’s. The rice pudding at the Cuban booth was really amazing, made with real cane sugar. The the pepper jelly at TX Kickly Pickles wasn’t too hot but had a good taste and their Reaper Pickles had a kick but still had FLAVOR! Highly recommend this market if you have the day off or are just passing through.

Great Sunday Farmer's Market. Easy parking on the street or in the structure. Wider than normal vendor selection but still a lack of Keto options. Nice outdoor dining area by Prego and also Food Truck. Did I mention live music? Yup, some entertainment while you shop. Open first and third Sundays. I recommend a stroll through this market. Standard Covid protocols and plenty of pets accompanying their owners.

An amazing experience, and wow so many wonderful vendors selling some of freshest and most interesting fares. Had so many exciting conversations with several of the vendors, including the gentleman who coordinates the market which is open on the 1st and 3rd Sunday of every month. Can't wait to go in two weeks.

For those wondering about the days/hours they are only open on the first and third Sundays of each month. They have baked goods, prepared foods, artisanal products, locally grown produce, some pasture raised meat products and more. Personally, I would like to see more vendors providing a greater variety of fresh produce (one provider sold me a ton of rotten cucumbers and charged me $ 13). However, many growers are limited to the growing seasons and the space at the market is limited. If you are looking for a market to check out I do recommend this one though I prefer a different farmers market in town.

Love this market! Its a perfect local neighborhood Farmer's market with local farmers bringing in grass fed beef, free range chicken and fresh in season produce!! Thats just the start flowers! Hot food vendors for breakfast or lunch and they offer takeaway! Mimosas and Bloody Mary's are offered with seating in the shade. Coffee drinks made on the sot and ready to drink and they have bags of fresh roasted beans to take for the week! Incredible bakers and makers! Get out and Support Local and meet some new folks! This is the place!

Great place with some unique and fresh produce. Decent options for both veggies and non veg. Plus, you can check out some lucky stands where they have their home made concoctions to offer. Every alternate Saturdays makes it a good setting as well. Rice Parking for 2 hrs is also great!

Yelp
I have been wanting to try B'tween sandwich with Chef Michelle for her biscuits for a while. They do a pop-up at Rice Village, so I came by to give them a try and check out the rest of the market. Market is from 9a to 1pm first and 3rd sundays. It was perfect weather to enjoy the day. There are 2 rows of tents with all kinds of vendors. From jams and juices to everything in between. This is a great place to support small owned businesses in the community. First stop was Casetta Cucina, fresh pasta and sauces. Sadly, he was sold out of most items, but I purchased the Spinich Ricatta Ravioli & Marcapone sauce. The business owner told me to add truffle oil and chives for the dish. I will have to go find these items. I'm looking forward to trying everything at home. Next stop was The Smoke, BBQ truck. They kindly provided a sample of their pickles and chicken. The chicken was pretty well seasoned, which I liked, and I had a bite of the brisket. They were sold out of a lot of items, I wanted to try the mac'n'cheese and the jalapeño sausage. I'll have to come earlier next time. They were very friendly, and I loved their customer service! The last stop was B'tween- sandwich. They had 3 biscuit sandwich specials and 3 specialty biscuits to order individually or as a pack. I ordered all 3 of their biscuit sandwiches to support this black owned bussiness. I had their bacon- egg-cheese sandwich right then. Biscuit was nice and flakey. There was a layer of butter in addition to the egg and cheese so it made it really come together. It was yum. I took the pork Biscuit sandwich & the Shrimp Biscuit sandwich home for later. Overall, a great place to enjoy the day, dog and family friendly, or even enjoy solo.

Yelp
Every 1st & 3rd Sunday of the month. Nice farmer's market. It was a relatively small market when we stopped by today but apparently, this is a condensed version of the usual set-up (because of a fire that recently occurred in the area, according to one of the vendors). Even in its truncated form, it was a lovely market. A few vendors offering free samples. Saw a few produce stands, several vendors selling sauces and dips, pickles, honey, mushrooms, meat/eggs, multiple baked goods. All the usual options, basically. Also saw a few unique vendors that I haven't seen elsewhere -- seamoss juices and microgreens. Parking is paid via ParkMobile. Just a couple bucks but it helps to have the app downloaded. There is no free or street parking in Rice Village (unless you want to venture further and walk).

Yelp
Stopped by on their 3rd year anniversary. I've heard of it but haven't been before, so why not on an anniversary? They only have markets on the first and third of every month. It's located in the parking lot between Starbucks and Thai Village on Amherst. When I went, there were two aisles of vendors and it was bustling with some music on one end. There isn't much sit down space, so keep that in mind. We parked in the parking garage and walked over. There was a bit of everything: 2 veggie stands, a microgreens stand, sea moss drinks, coffee, baked goods, a croissant stand (Love Croissant), meat, mushrooms, arts and crafts, goods like soap, prepared food, 2 food trucks, and even 2 vegan stands but I could not figure out what they were selling. Oh! And a gluten free baked goods stand! But they use eggs. So we didn't get any because the member of our family with multiple food allergies still couldn't have them. We got there at around 9:20 am and there were already a good amount of people with some already leaving who went for groceries. I went around twice to see what was there but opted out of the stands with longer lines. I ended up getting an original butter croissant from Love Croissant for my croissant loving daughter. Also because they were out of most of their other croissants other than their savory ones, but those had meat. We're vegetarian. (The croissant we did get was absolutely scrumptious.) I also got a lb of Lion's Mane mushrooms ($15/lb). I adore the mushroom stands at the farmers markets up north so I'm happy to see one here. I would have gotten some eggs if I could find them. Maybe I missed it? Overall, not a bad visit! I'm just not fond of/used to crowds. LOL. Hubby just walked one round and went across the street to wait it out.
