"Located inside a popular Third Street strip mall, Rich Crab specializes in the Korean specialty ganjang gejang (soy-marinated crab). The set menu includes a spicy braised salmon head, a kimchi pancake, and two types of crab — the spicy iteration is caked with a chile sauce, while the ganjang version boasts a sweet and rich marinade. The meal finishes with sliced crabs served in a spicy stew." - Rebecca Roland, Eater Staff

The raw crab as signature eating with rice is incredible! Tastes are authentic! The spicy raw crab as side dish was good too. The crab stew is tender and good. Recommended for authentic Korean dishes. It’s just like home cooked food. The owner uncle and auntie were so kind to us. The place is clean and I like the cute apron and plastic gloves so you don’t have to worry about your hands and clothes getting dirty.

Google
A solid Korean raw crab restaurant. We order the soy and the spicy crab and both was amazing and fresh. Service was great and fast and the waitress was very nice servicing us. Highly recommended.

Either yesterday or today I watched an Instagram reel about Koreatown raw soy marinated crab. It was from a located I had frequented before. Needless to say, I got home from work and I could not get raw spicy and soy marinated crab out of my head. I just had to have. I decided to skip my Monday night boxing class and instead eat a lot of Korean food. I Googled some places and wondered which one I should go to. I wondered if Postmates could deliver something to my apartment so that I don’t have to venture out to Koreatown again, especially at night. Postmates doesn’t deliver raw soy crab, but they did have spicy crabs. But I wanted BOTH. I decided to try Rich Crab. I had never been there before. I decided to order to go and then went to go pick it up myself. The parking is valet but I let him know I’m just picking up and he was real nice about it. I walked in and was greeted by two people. They were super nice and friendly. I took the food back home in my corvette in the trunk space. I got home and put my dog away in his crate. I opened up the food and everything was just so neatly and well packaged. One time I had ordered soy crab to go and the particular restaurant did a sloppy packaging job so I spilled in my corvette front passenger carpet floor and the smell lasted three or four car details. But nothing spilled from here as the packaging was meticulous. I had the combo B small. Seafood soup, kimchi pancake, soy crab, spicy crab, purple rice, side dishes. Everything tasted perfect. The Korean food at Rich Crab is no nonsense authentic Korean food. This is coming from a girl who grew up eating soy crab at home from a home recipe (grandma’s recipe from South Korea ChoongChungDo). I would get jars of soy crab and sometimes eat it daily until it was done so I have plenty of years of eating soy crab. There’s nothing else for me to say. The food here doesn’t pretend to be something it’s not. It’s not pretentious it’s just Korean and I respect it a lot. Needless to say I will be going here again. I even had to call them back to say thank you and I enjoyed the meal, I’ll leave a review and I’ll be back again. They were super nice and appreciative of the call too. I’m touched.

Google
AMAZING FOOD AND SERVICE! I heard about this place on TikTok and wanted to go so bad! It definitely lives up to the hype. Cute lil mom and pop shop but everything has such amazing flavor and I def recommend the spicy crab stew and spicy marinated crab. My boyfriend kept spilling the marinade on his shirt so they brought him an apron and wipes LOL super sweet. Def try all the side dishes and the rice, it’s mixed with wild rice so it’s super yummy and nutty!

The service is a bit slow but the food here is SO GOOD. I would definitely come back here just to eat the soy sauce marinated crab or the spicy crab stew. When I went my friend and I got the 2-3 person combo of “kimchi pancake + spicy raw crab + soy sauce marinated crab + spicy crab soup” and it was so much good. We barely finished it between the two of us. I think the price point is good for the amount you get and would definitely recommend it.

Google
BEST soy sauce crab and monkfish stir fry in LA! The owner and her daughter are so nice and incredibly welcoming and attentive. The restaurant is VERY clean! They close on Tuesdays though! 간장게장 1등! 아귀찜도 JMT (미더덕 없음).

Google
This is a hole in the wall, no-nonsense type of Korean restaurant and they really perfected their craft. I consider myself a gejang specialist and I've been to the best of the best in Seoul, LA, New York and New Jersey, and I think this place is the best in the US! The crabs are from Korea (I asked the owner) and imported in. The marinade flavor is a perfect blend of herbs and brine and is not salty like other places. It's really spectacular. The soup is really good too and starts off a little mild and bland but as it cooks down it becomes perfect. As for price (maybe I'm biased because everything is high priced in NYC) I thought this was well priced and reflective of the quality, craft and flavor, especially knowing the crabs are from Korea. I wish they had this place in the east coast.

Google
The service here may not be the best but their soy marinated crabs are pretty darn good. When we arrived, there was no one to greet us and we had to wait a while before a server came out from the back. Once seated though, she was pretty attentive. The crabs were delicious and we were given sesame seed oil to make bibimbap with, which we really appreciated. They also provided scissors and crackers for the legs as well as gloves to squeeze the crab pieces with. The crabs were admittedly more expensive than we expected but I'd say it's worth the money. This might turn out to be a regular spot every time we visit LA!

Yelp
Rich crab is a great restaurant in ktown for some of the best marinated crabs. They offer both spicy and soy sauce marinated crabs with prices ranging from $45 and up depending on how much crab you're getting. 1 crab for 2 people was enough + pancake + soybean soup is great for 2. Service was so nice and quick and had a great conversation with the owner about the crabs and the food. The marinated soy sauce crab was extremely delicious and wasn't overly salty at all. Perfect balance of flavor and the crab had a lot of meat in it. Gloves available for everyone's convenience. Will definitely come again. They have various seafood stews along with a lot of side dishes. valet parking is available for $3 and street parking if available.

Yelp
Location 3: Busy area in K-Town, Los Angeles. Impossible to find street parking. There are paid parking lots around, but we opted for the valet that serves the shopping plaza. Venue 3: Basic no frills indoor seating with table service. They do take reservations on Yelp which may be helpful at busty times. Service 3: Polite and attentive. Our order was taken quickly, and food came quickly as well. Food 2.5: This restaurant specializes in crab. Menu is rather small and includes crab plates, carb stews and a few Korean hot pots. The crab plates and stews can be ordered in individual and family portions. Food was just OK and not memorable. Their crab meat (which is their specialty) had a slightly sour taste to it that we had not experienced before. I did like the Spicy Tofu Stew a lot though. Drinks 3: Smaller assortment of beer, soju, soft drinks and tea. The last word 3: Rich Crab was ok, but not what we had hoped for.

Yelp
I have a fascination with Korean marinated raw crab and have tried it at many restaurants, ordered it online for delivery, and even attempted to make it at home. My two biggest challenges have always been the freshness of the crab and the sweetness level--personally, I struggle with any food that's overly sweet. I think I found my new favorite here at Rich Crab. Their crab is incredibly fresh, succulent, and not too sweet. It's melt-in-your-mouth perfection! The ambiance is no-frills, but the service is attentive. I'll definitely be back whenever the craving hits!

Susanna G.

Yelp
I came here with a few friends to see if it could match up to Crab House, and I have to say, it's pretty good! When we arrived, there was literally no wait, which made me a bit skeptical, but the food definitely delivered. The raw marinated crabs were the highlight for me. Super fresh and flavorful, they're a great option if you're craving marinated crab but don't want to wait in line at some of the more popular spots. The other dishes we ordered were also tasty and well-prepared, adding to the overall experience. If you're looking for solid marinated crab without the long wait, Rich Crab is a great alternative. I'd definitely come back for a quick and satisfying crab fix!

Kelly D.

Yelp
Wow this place is so good. Their soy sauce crab had so much roe in it - the best part! The spicy marinated crab was also excellent, the marinade was flavorful and great with the rice. Banchan was pretty typical, I liked the marinated seaweed the most. We also got spicy crab stew but I wasn't as into that. The soy sauce crab is pricey but worth it, in my opinion. The other items are average price. I'd come back and just get the marinated crabs and eat with rice. The people who run the spot are also very warm and friendly!

Marvin L.

Yelp
My friends and I had never eaten raw marinated crab before, so we decided to try Rich Crab based on the Yelp reviews. The food was delicious, but given the price and the portions shared among 4 people, we found ourselves not satisfied and wanting more. We ordered the Large Combo A. The photo of the large portion is somewhat misleading, as the size increase is mostly due to the soup, not the crab. Regardless of the combo size, you only get one soy-marinated crab. We would have preferred larger crab portions when ordering a larger combo, rather than more soup or sides, since we came specifically for the raw marinated crab.

Jessica C.

Yelp
We got the combo c, 2 soy marinated crab, and the eel. Combo c - spicy seafood - this was pretty good with a variety of seafood Combo c - spicy crab - I think this was cooked crab and I couldn't really taste the crab, just the sauce Combo c - soy marinated crab - the e meat came out pretty easily and it's just so delicious when mixed with hot rice Combo c - kimchi pancake - good Soy marinated crab - the crab is bigger when you order it by itself Eel - so I thought this was squid but my friend who had this dish in Seoul explained that this kind of eel is squid like. So it's basically spicy stir fried squid. If you're coming for the raw crab, I'd just order more of that by itself. None of the other dishes stood out to me. Parking on a Saturday night was valet only. $3 at the time of this review.

Arnold T.

Yelp
Curious about the fad surrounding raw crab and to celebrate a friend's birthday, we came here and ordered Combo B, which include the spicy crab stew, soy sauce marinated crab, kimchi pancake, spicy marinated crab, and several banchans. Since there weren't many other diners when we arrived, service was prompt. Now with the food. First and foremost, be prepared to use your hands to break open the crabs. Gloves are provided but there's some work involved. The soy sauce crab was refreshing and flavorful. Other than the spice, it was a bit difficulty to taste the flavor of the spicy marinated crab, but still enjoyable. What I thought would be the best item turned out differently. The spicy crab stew, generally good and savory, had Japanese pumpkins that tasted off, with a rotten smell, for lack of a better description. The kimchi pancake, like many I've had in my life, were spot on. Overall, an interesting experience. Parking can be a challenge so be prepared to park on the street.

Yelp
FINALLY MADE IT HERE! Came on a Saturday night around an hour and a half before closing but would definitely recommend coming earlier to have ample time to eat. Pretty sizable spot with that well-loved vibe typical of homestyle restaurants. We ordered a small Combo A that ended up being waaay more than enough for dinner. Being on the later end, we were seated immediately by the kind older couple I believe run the establishment. Banchan was plentiful and delicious. When the food came out, it was all together: kimchi pancake, massive pot of seafood stew on a butane burner (everything from fish sperm to clams), and the soy and spicy marinated crab. Awesome value and the combo option made it easy to feel satisfied afterwards. Soy marinated crab was super sweet and buttery and I ended up dipping a lot more than just the crab in that marinade, and the spicy crab was heavier on the spice than the crab flavor (understandable when you think about how overpowering the flavor of gochujang can be). Having tried one other fairly popular ganjang gejang place in LA, I can say the service and food of Rich Crab are a step above.

Kelsey C.

Yelp
A tucked away, K-town strip mall eatery features the freshest, crabbiest Korean crab. Get one of the combos and get ready to really dig in. Each table gets an entire box of plastic food-handling gloves for eating and you will inevitably walk away with some orange on your chin. Combo B came with a Kimchi Pancake, which is always a great option and starts with the Spicy Marinated Crab, which has a bright red sauce that's sweet and slightly spice. Soy-marinated Crab is a new adventure, a whole raw sea-stinging crab full of gooey roe. Best when consumed over warm purple rice. Spoon some rice into the shell as well and mix it up with the guts. The Spicy Seafood Stew is a sea-savory soup with a sweeter finish, full of chunks of fish, head-on shrimp and even an entire octopus. We added the Seafood Pancake out of curiosity. It's an egg-based mix of calamari, shrimp, and so many leeks. Didn't need it (plenty of food in the combo) but didn't regret it either. Warning: DO NOT eat here if you don't like crab. This crab has stingingly briny, salty-sea flavors, (as it should), but it can be a lot for those who aren't accustomed to it. That said, I loved it! I've been wanting to explore Korean cuisine, and this was one of my better food experiences for sure.

Yelp
Gold star eating experience for those looking try the viral gejang, Korean raw soy marinated crab. My friend sent I had each separately been impressed by this raw crab phenomenon and had been wanting to try it. Researching reviews on Yelp, we came to the consensus that Rich Crab and Crab House were the places to go. Crab House unfortunately was closed for new year's celebrations so we came to Rich Crab. Boy, were we glad we did! Gejang raw crabs, as I said up top, is a gold star eating experience but unfortunately also is expensive like gold. Each single crab will cost you $45. We ordered two since we were expecting to make a raw crab crawl to try different top spots, hoping to leave room for more food later. For parties with more eaters, they offer combos but the only difference for increased size is you get more soup. The number of crabs per combo is the same for all three sizes. Caveat emptor. The crabs come out pristine, fresh and firm, gleaming with the soy marinade. They also sell a spicy version but I already know what gochujang tastes like and wanted to try the crab for its intrinsic flavor. When eaten raw, the taste and texture is akin to eating uni. It's got that same briny smoothness with a slight oceanic funk, the crab's richness coating your tongue long after you've swallowed. I suppose this is normal and what they named the restaurant after. It took us quite a long time to eat the crabs, wanting to savor each morsel. Along with banchan, a box of gloves and a pair of crab crackers are brought to the table for all your crab eating utensil needs. I think you're supposed to bite through the tough parts with your teeth, which we did, but it's comforting knowing the crackers are there for backup. Service is friendly but they leave you to enjoy your crab chawing experience and shell spitting shame until you signal you're done. Giant poster pictures of the other delicious looking dishes they serve adorn the walls. I will definitely come back the next time the gejang craving hits. I suppose I can find places in my own home turf of OC to have it but this feels like the Cadillac gejang experience.

Yelp
I was here a little more than 2 weeks ago and had a pleasant experience! It was my first time trying raw marinated crab and I came here after seeing a video on tik tok about this place. I brought my friend as well, though she thought we were going to another place (Crab House), yet she was pleasantly surprised as well. We ordered 2 soy marinated crabs and that was enough for us. We enjoyed the side dishes that came with it and the mom and daughter that was working was happy to refill them for us. In fact, they were so nice that they made our experience here even more enjoyable! Overall I highly highly recommend this place. The only con is parking which is quite annoying. They do have a small lot, but when I went it was valet only. However, this is also pretty normal in k-town so it wasn't unexpected.

Kaelin C.

Yelp
The food is absolutely phenomenal!!! I was craving Korean raw marinated crab and I stumbled across Rich Crab on yelp. The reviews were promising, so i was excited! We ordered the combo B I believe, with seafood stew, spicy marinated crab & soy sauce marinated crab. The soy sauce marinated crab was the best!!! The flavor was so delicious, I loved eating the sauce with the rice. The banchan was good too. The restaurant itself is clean and the restroom is very clean too. Service was great! Extremely friendly. I HIGHLY recommend!!! There is also an abundance of street parking. :)

Yelp
Soy Sauce Marinated Crab 5 raw, jelly, refreshing, flavorful, some fresh, some not fresh

Amanda H.

Yelp
I was recommended this place by some friends and fell in love with their soy sauce marinated raw crab. While a little pricey at $45 for one crab, one is good enough to feed 1-2 people and comes with steamed purple rice. The soy sauce marinade is perfect and not too salty or sweet, and the crab is fresh. We also tried their spicy crab stew and it was great! I also love that they serve free iced barley tea instead of water. I think it's so refreshing. There's a valet in the lot but there is also a lot of street parking nearby. Great family-owned business (I believe) and I see this place getting compared to Master Ha's for their raw crab. Give them a try if you're in the area!

Trinny T.

Yelp
This restaurant offers a delightful culinary experience, particularly when it comes to their generous and flavorful crab dishes. While the prices may be higher compared to Crab House, the quality surpasses that of Mr. Ha. The convenience of valet parking at a cost of $3 adds to the overall ease of dining here. One of the highlights was the speedy service, ensuring that the food was promptly brought to the table. In addition to the exceptional crab, the potato pancake was another pleasant surprise, with its satisfying taste and texture. Overall, I found the dining experience to be quite enjoyable, with no complaints to speak of. The combination of delicious food, efficient service, and appealing offerings like the potato pancake makes this restaurant a notable choice for those seeking a satisfying seafood meal.

Christina K.

Yelp
Definitely satisfied my craving! Pros: - Delicious soy marinated crabs - Kimchi pancake was a nice palette cleanser to eat in between Cons: - Maybe the price for some people? But, I think it was worth it for high quality crab!

Jenna C.

Yelp
The marinated crab are flavorful and melts in your mouth. It is on the more expensive side, but they give you rice and sides for your meal. The monkfish stew is clean and subtle. It sets really nicely before and after the raw marinated crab. It wasn't busy when I went so the atmosphere is calm and enjoyable. The service is also amazing as the staff is attentive and helps you out immediately. I've come twice and look forward to coming again in the future!

Jenny J.

Yelp
I was craving for raw crab and my bf took me on a trip to SoCal. We went to Rich Crab and boy are they delicious. We got the small combo good for 2 people. The crabs are well flavored, sweet, and fresh. It goes sooo good with everything. I never seen potatoes pancakes elsewhere so I ordered and omg... I love the texture, a bit mochi ish. The seafood stew is tasty too and they loaded with a lot of crabs too. We went to the restaurant after peak lunch hour so it feels like good to have the whole place to ourselves. The owner there was so nice and attentive. I love vibes This is a must try spot!!

Timothy T.

Yelp
Decided to check out Rich Crab since Master Ha's is closed on Sundays. It was my first time trying raw crab and I don't know how I feel about it but I don't want to discredit the cuisine just cause I'm indifferent. Their kimchi pancake was bomb! Smaller than expected but it was really good. Not like your typical kimchi pancake that's overly thick and soggy. The banchan was 10/10. Really enjoyed just eating the banchan with rice. That's how good it was. Note: their combos only include 1 crab of each, regardless of the size you choose. The only difference between the combo is the soup size. Which is disappointing because how are 5 people supposed to share 1 crab. I'd want to try master Ha's next to see how it compares.

Tiffany C.

Yelp
I'm not a crab connoisseur so maybe take my review with a grain of salt. First off, I love seafood and I love to eat crab but to caveat, I've never had a general liking for the crab/shrimp heads - and eating raw crab was fairly similar to that delicacy. This was my first time eating raw crab. I wasn't sure what to expect so I came in with zero expectations, but I also walked out unsure of how I felt about the meal. I came here with a party of 4. Since it was our first time, we tried the combo so that we can try both of the different flavors. We ordered a size S combo A for $119. Note that the different sizes of combo refers to the stew size. Everything else comes as 1 count. The service was great. Food came out SO fast, it literally felt like we just waited for 5 mins. As soon as it came out, we dug in. I want to say I did enjoy the soy sauce marinated crab but at the same time also wasn't sure if I liked the flavors. The spicy marinated crab was marinated VERY well and spicy too! Loved that there was definitely a hot kick to it. You forsure need to work to eat this though and unfortunately, I'm not a huge fan of peeling crab/shrimp and really digging deep to find gold. Despite all that, it tasted super fresh! The banchan was exceptionally good, and also refillable. Kimchi was great but honestly felt like I got jipped. It's so thin and hardly had any kimchi pieces - it was like eating kimchi paper, not pancake. It was also smaller than what I expected. I've had better kimchi pancakes. We ordered the spicy crab stew for our stew option. Spicy? No. Crabby? Yes. It had a very good depth of flavor in terms of crab. I wish there was more garneses/veggies but the crab pretty much filled up the pot. I didn't get to eat the crab from the pot but I was told by my boyfriend's parents that it wasn't fresh. To be completely honest, I left feeling so unsatisfied. It wasn't that I wasn't full but I think I needed something that tasted more satisfying. I think this delicacy is something everyone should try but I wouldn't consider this a meal I'd crave and want to eat for dinner. To try and experience different types of cultural food? Definitely. But not something I can expect to eat every month. Also, I felt it was super pricey for what it was even though I know these crabs are imported. I'd prefer to eat omakase sashimi for the price. Update: After reading some reviews, I found out from other yelpers that ordering the combo, the crabs would be significantly smaller than ordering a la carte. The waitress failed to mention that to us...which now makes me realize that portioning sizes like this is incredibly unfair to the customer AND super misleading. Not to mention that most people who order combos expect to have a fair ratio amongst the number of people that the menu stated to feed. If your size M combo is supposed to feed 3, give more ratio of crabs rather than your stew, especially if you know people come to your restaurant to specifically try your raw crab. Warning: Any size combo, whether S, M, or L, all combos only comes with 1 small crab per flavor. That's bogus and definitely not worth the price. Had I known, I would've just ordered a la carte. DON'T ORDER THE COMBO.

Rowena Z.

Yelp
My daughter wanted marinated crab so we ventured out to Rich Crab. It's in a very small strip mall in Koreatown. There is valet but we opted for the parking garage of the YMCA. There is also street parking. We were greeted by the waitress. She brought us hot tea and banchan. Our food came out fast and fresh. We really enjoyed the soy marinated crabs. She told us the spicy marinated crab was medium but we thought it was more medium to hot spicy. Delicious flavor. The purple rice was so good my daughter asked for a second bowl. The kimchi pancake was very good. We will definitely be back!

Janet L.

Yelp
Went here in December and the crab was absolutely delicious! We got the set with the soy sauce, hot pepper paste crabs and soup and then an extra order of the soy sauce crabs. I'm usually a fan of the hot pepper paste crabs but the soy sauce crabs were equally as delicious! The single order of soy sauce crabs was definitely a larger crab so just be aware of that when you order! We clearly over ordered for our party but it was so worth it. Be sure to make tons of space in your stomach because you will definitely want at least two bowls of rice to devour the amazing food here. The staff was super attentive and helpful and even offered to add more soup stock to our pot since we had kept the fire on too long.

Angela Y.

Yelp
This was one of the most unique meals I've ever had and a total adventure for my tastebuds! This place is tucked away in the corner of a strip mall and was pretty empty when we walked in around 7pm on a Wednesday. We ordered the soy marinated crab and a spicy seafood stew. The crab is unlike anything I've had before. You add rice to the crab shell and mix it with the marinade inside and eat it all at once. Then you squeeze out the crab meat from the legs and mix again with the rice. I also scooped up some of the marinade in the plate for extra flavor. To my surprise, I could barely taste the rawness. The umami from the marinade covered up most of the fishy flavors from the raw crab. Every bite was extremely flavorful. The spicy seafood stew was delicious as well. It was loaded with ingredients and not very spicy Service was really good at well. They don't speak that much English but we're super nice

Yuna K.

Yelp
Really sad to be writing a one star review. The grandpa here is nice, and the people seem to be nice but i felt like i got robbed here. We got the small combo for two people which was a whopping 120$, and we got one crab. One tiny crab to share between two, and the spicy marinate came with 3.. between two so we couldn't even share. The kimchi pancake was decent but for the price we paid this was ridiculous. If you go anywhere else like crab house or master ha they give you WAY more crab for this kind of price. I really felt robbed. They kept saying the "soup" was the main but you can get crab soup in oc or la for like 30-40$. Its really not worth eating here. After paying this much we really were not full at all. Im not sure what all these reviews are but its just not worth it unless you're willing to pay hundreds of dollars here. Look at the photo of what they have at the restaurant. For 50$ which is one order you get two pieces- its insane. I love raw crab and have eaten it in manhattan all the time and the price is like 4 times here, with 1/5th of the portion size. ridiculous.

Yelp
Rich Crab is one of 2 very popular restaurants that offer fresh, raw marinated Korean crabs in the Koreatown area. I've been here twice now and both times were absolutely delicious. On my most recent visit, my girlfriend and I ordered their Combo C ($120) which said it was good enough for 2 people. It came with Braised Spicy Seafood Soup, 1 Soy Sauce Marinated Crab, 1 Spicy Marinated Crab, and 1 Kimchi Pancake. The Soy Sauce Marinated Crab was just 1 whole crab whereas the Spicy one was cut into several pieces and served on a plate. The crabs were sooo good and fresh - plenty of sweet, raw crab meat :) Honestly, we wanted to order more but at $45 per crab that was gonna break our bank lol Word of caution: the spicy crab IS going to be spicy. It was a little too spicy for my friend so she didn't eat as much of it, but I loooved it and absolutely devoured everything. The Braised Spicy Seafood Soup was also really good. Very satisfying, filling, and not too spicy with a TON of yummy seafood. The Kimchi Pancake was mid - nothing crazy. Overall, a solid spot if you're craving raw crab! TIP: They have gloves so you don't need to worry about getting your hands dirty ;)

Yenari C.

Yelp
The crab soup was very tasty and adding fresh pasta( sujebi) added another layer of taste. The owner was very sweet and attentive. I will come back when I visit LA again.

Yelp
We come here because other places in Koreatown get so crowded. This place is nearly always empty and we always wonder why! The food, specifically the soy marinated crab, is delicious. It does seem to be more costly than other places, however, the service makes up for it. This spot seems to be owned by an elderly Korean couple who are always working and are the sweetest people. Would definitely come back to support them!

Linda C.

Yelp
Drove all the way to just try these infamous Korean raw crabs because I've been watching way too much Kdramas and honestly it was the best experience ever. I brought Benadryl with me just in case I get a reaction from raw seafood but I did not even need it. The crab was so flavorful and not fishy at all! You still can taste the umami in it but the delicacy of the crab meat literally just melts in your mouth. The service was quick, my family and I got seated right when we walked in. It wasn't as busy as I had thought but glad they tended to us so quickly. The restaurant is super quiet and feels like you're eating at a mom and pop shop. A little glimpse of Korea with some ajummas eating their food and gossiping away. Now back to the food...the raw crab is a little expensive at $40 per crab. There isn't any deal or special if you buy 2-3 crabs. We also got their beef stew which only came with 4 thinly slices of beef and then filled with bean sprouts. The broth was clear and not as flavorful as we anticipated. We also tried their pork belly lettuce wrap, small portion roughly $40. The raw crabs was a major hit!

Yelp
10/10 once again! Doesn't disappoint with the fresh crabs and very kind staff. Highly recommend for gejang.

Yelp
9/23/2023 Back here again! Master Ha reopened but seems like they changed menu and my favorite raw crab meat bowl doesn't look as good from the picture I saw on yelp so to be on the safe side we came back to Rich Crab again. Super super nice lady haven't seen before served us and attentive to our needs. Checked on us multiple times making sure we have water and enough banchan if needing refills. Love Rich Crab so much! Valet parking only $3 in the parking lot right outside the the restaurants.

Yelp
I don't understand why this place is rated so high. Sure the crab was flavorful, but the amount of actual meat was minimal. The spicy crab stew was thin and lacking in flavor, the kimchi had a lot of vinegar and reminded me of the cheap bottled ones found in grocery stores, and the price for this entire meal was $73 BEFORE TIP. I'm sorry, but I won't be recommending this place to any of my friends.

Yelp
I found out about Rich Crab the old-fashioned way: by driving by and getting curious. I live really close to this place and Korean crab is one of my favorite things to eat, but not ideal for my picky white husband or our little kids. I finally got a chance to visit for lunch with my mom last week and it was as good as I'd hoped. Rich Crab is in the same 3rd St. strip mall as Zzamong. The restaurant was comfortable and casual, with large photos of various menu items doubling as decor. It was also completely empty when we walked in at 11:45 on a Monday, and I think we were the only customers the entire time we were there. Service was great, provided by a nice ajumma who might be the owner. Lunch was decadently delicious, as well as quite messy--Rich Crab provides gloves, and you'll need them to get the most out of every piece of crab. We shared the small A combination, which came with kimchi pancake, soy sauce marinated crab, spicy marinated crab, and spicy crab stew for two. There was also a solid banchan spread with pickles and namuls, kimchi and fishcake. The kimchi jeon was great, chewy and crispy and full of kimchi. It made a lovely appetizer/side to all that spectacular crab. Gaejang is one of my favorite foods, and I loved both the ganjang and yangnyum versions. Both featured sweet, gooey, gelatinous raw crab meat, best enjoyed sucked straight out of the shell. The yangnyum sauce was bold with spice and garlic, while the ganjang was milder, subtler. If you're just getting one (though you should really get both), go with the ganjang. It's a bigger crab, and it comes with lots of creamy orange roe and guts, which you can mix up with the rice and marinade in the shell of the crab, a dreamy little dish all on its own. The ggotgaetang was the centerpiece of the meal, and it was superb, spicy and truly rich with crab flavor. The stew came already fragrant with crab, herbs, and bean sprouts, and it continued bubbling on a mini-stove on our table. It was fantastic with some rice and crab meat, and when we were almost done, we got some soojaebi to add to the stew, soft hunks of hand-torn dough that we slurped down with that heady broth. This was a wonderful lunch, one that I'd love to repeat in its entirety as often as possible. If you, too, enjoy delicious things, check out Rich Crab for a glorious crabby feast.

Yelp
The food was excellent! We came for the soy sauce raw marinated crab and it did not disappoint. For their crabs they use female Korean crabs that were just oozing with tomalley and roe. It tasted fresh and sweet. The ambiance was also pretty homey and cozy like a mom and pop Korean restaurant. The staff were also super nice, friendly, and helpful :) highly recommend.

Yelp
I've been back twice now so I think that means I'm a regular. I came with two separate sets of friends on both occasions. You need at least three adults and the smallest combo is enough. We got combo A small which is $110 but it comes with spicy crab stew, spicy marinated crab, soy marinated crab, kimchi pancake, and ofc all the banchans. Both times I brought my picky allergic kid so we got extra food. he ate the fried corvina and potato pancake and rice and he was a happy camper. Second time we had a teenager so we added the bossam which came w doenjang jigae soy bean soup. It's never crowded when we go but admittedly we went during lunch and it's more of a group dinner food type of place. Will always come back

Yelp
Got a combo that had soy and spicy crabs and a seafood stew. Perfect to split with some friends or family. Absolutely delicious. If you get there early you can find some street parking or the lot they are in has valet.

Yelp
Came here on a Monday around 6PM with my 3 friends and absolutely loved our meal! We got 2 Soy Sauce marinated crabs and 2 Spicy marinated crabs. The soy marinated crabs are 2 for $90 and the spicy crab was $30 for 1. They were both sooo delicious and definitely comparable to the og crab house. Soy marinated crabs - 10/10 These were fat and had hella meat. The flavor was also so good, and better than Crab House's soy sauce marinated crab! Spicy marinated crabs - 9/10 These were a little smaller than the soy marinated crabs, but they were cheaper so it makes sense. The spicy flavor was really good still, but I would say Crab House's is better. Overall: I'd totally give this place a try if you were in the area!! super delicious and service is also great.

Yelp
If you are looking for raw marinated crabs, Rich crab is a great option. The combo B is definitely enough for 2 people (my friend and I were stuffed). The combo came with purple rice and yummy banchan (side dishes). My favorite was the soy marinated crab. Make sure to mix the rice with the insides of the crab shell, it will change your life! All the employees were friendly and super considerate. It gave a very home-y vibe. Overall, I do think that the combo was a bit pricey (after tax the total was $132). Parking: Parking lot only offers valet. But there are metered spots nearby (free after 6pm).

Yelp
Along with their fresh/well-marinated crabs, we really appreciated the attentive & personable service (from an 아줌마 & older man who seemed to be the owners). Valet parking optional, otherwise be prepared to park on the street!

Yelp
This was my first time trying raw marinated crab. It was everything I thought it would be. Very creamy and delicious. Good flavors all around. The ban chan was so good too. We got combo #2 with the seafood stew (forgot to take pictures). The only thing I wished was that there would be more crab for the price, so adjust your expectations. Highly recommend especially for a first timer.

Yelp
I'm so happy I found this place after being RUDELY disappointed by another place in ktown I used to be a regular at. When we went it was very quiet and empty and we were honestly kind of scared because there was no one else... but I'm so glad we decided to stay and eat. We ordered the small combo A - comes with both spicy raw crab and soy crab, spicy crab soup and kimchi pancake. When I read the description of the combo I thought they would give like..sample sizes for the raw crab but NO, they give you a WHOLE soy crab and a handful of spicy marinated crab! When the soup came out I thought to myself "ah... the soup looks weak" because the color was not as dark or bright as I'd wanted it to be but the taste was spot on! As the soup was boiling on the burner on low heat as we enjoyed our dinner, it got better and better. We asked for "soojebi" flour cakes at the end to be added and it was the perfect end to our meal. The owner and server were both very friendly, they came by our table to tell us to eat more; what a typical parent would do HAHA I can't wait to go visit again and we are on a mission to try all the different combos!

Yelp
Bless the couple that run this place. On top of very delicious food, they ensure that all their customers are taken care of - from stirring the stews, making sure you use the crackers (to make sure you don't crack a molar), to telling you to eat while it's hot. Just the cutest homey feeling. We got Combo A for two people and this was more than enough food. My favorite was definitely the soy marinated crab with a heaping spoonful of white rice. Everything had such great flavor and was just a fantastic experience all around.

Yelp
Hands down the best soy sauce raw crab in LA!!!!! Always taste fresh, flavor on point and service

Yelp
3.5 stars. Rich Crab is newer to the scene but I've had better at other raw crab establishments. The ban chan was decent; my favorite was the seaweed and then the fish cake. The kimchi wasn't that great here. Our table of three ordered the combo B, size small ($99.99). It included a spicy seafood stew, soy sauce marinated crab, spicy marinated crab and a kimchi pancake. Each element was decently good. The spicy marinated crab was the best, with a good amount of spice and flavor. I thought the soy sauce marinated crab was too salty. This place has less options than others in the neighborhood but is alright for a simpler meal. They were nice enough to give us gloves to eat and bibs as well when they noticed that we needed them.

Yelp
A little surprised about how expensive the soy marinated crab but it was definitely fresh! The spicy marinated crab was also amazing! The service was amazing and they explained how everything works. The spicy stew we got was so yummy it was so different and special that I've never tasted it from anywhere else before. The restaurant itself was clean and easy to find with lots of street parking. Id definitely visit if you're craving marinated crabs!

Yelp
My friend was waiting all week for me to visit to take me here for dinner. She raved about how much better the raw marinated crab was here and I believed her because we're both food fatties so i was very excited hahahaha. We ordered the medium combo with crab stew. Everything was delicious!! I really do think the spicy and soy marinated crab here had better flavoring than said competitor. The stew had a nice flavor. Very light and delicious. It's a lot quieter here and there was not a wait which I loved. Love and hate social media for blowing up a restaurant to the point where wait is 2hrs but you know kudos to the business haha. Service was great, it seems to be run by a family Very lovely, no complaint. I'll probably visit when I'm back in town!

Yelp
The spicy crab wasn't my style (I'm generally not a huge fan of Korean food, and felt like the marinade was too sweet), but the marinated raw soy crab was DELICIOUS. The meat and roe were so savory and buttery and just amazing on the purple rice. Such a unique food, I couldn't stop thinking about this crab for days after we ate! I'd come back just for this! Really glad I tried something new.
