"The pompous fiberglass chef standing outside Rinconcito Peruano gives life to this ordinary Hialeah strip mall. During the week, the Peruvian restaurant fills up for lunch with people avoiding their bosses and craving good jalea. Beyond the appetizers, all plates are shareable with portions appropriate for baby elephants. The ceviche mixto is very citrusy and comes topped with their salsa criolla that can probably make expired yogurt taste good. The tacu is slightly bland, but again, their salsa criolla is a flavor cure-all. For dessert, get the suspiro limeño that’s a sweet caramel custard topped with cinnamon and merengue (and maybe don’t add salsa criolla to this)." - Mariana Trabanino

Amazing Peruvian food! The fried grouper was beyond delicious. Chicken fried rice and sweet plantains were also amazing. Portions were huge! Definitely worth the trip for us! Would definitely come back.

My kiddos and I absolutely love this place. The staff, the chef, and the energy are very welcoming and friendly. The place is very clean too.The food is delicious and the portion goes with the price too. My kiddos love the fish strips and the Alfredo pasta. I have tried so many of their dishes and they are all amazing. I recommend this restaurant 1000%.

I stopped by here for the first time. I live at a walkable distance but never had a chance to enter. I was seated quickly, I ordered a traditional Peruvian beer called Crystal. I must say, It was very good. I was planning originally on a Corona, I'm glad I didn't get. Javier my server was extremely attentive. He was very helpful with taking my order and was very attentive of my table. I selected a mixed seafood plate that was delicious as a appetizer. Javier recommended I try out a mixed seafood dish for main course. I could not remember the name but I took pictures so please take a look. Both dishes were exceptional but the main course was a winner. Please don't forget the sauce. While I do love hot, I preferred the lighter sauce. The dessert was phenomenal. It was made with Sapote, sort of a mouse type of thing. I have to say that this is a hidden gem. Please stop by and check it out. Javier is a exceptional server and I truly believe this restaurants food and great service make an impressive team. Thanks again. Until next time.

Google
I have been coming here on and off, food has been good no complaints. Now the to go area they make you stand outside?? Is part of there rule which I don't understand. We are spending our money and should be able to enter and wait for our food.. unless they are coming outside with it on the parking lot. Otherwise why can the customer sit down and relax while waiting for food? It does not feel welcoming at all. It does not make sense at all Hope they change otherwise I will not be coming here anymore.

Google
Upon arriving they lock the door so there’s no way to get inside, they speak only Spanish so it was really hard to order just ceviche. The women told me it would take 30 min but when I asked the general manager it took only 6 minutes . The language barrier was so hard for me to understand. They need to make better ceviche with more seasoning and soup

This little corner as the name is literally translated to english is a great family run business. I have to express how pleasant the waitresses are.The food is so fresh. It's reassuring to see people that work there eat want is being served. They have fresh soup of the day. The portions size are filling and depending how big you eat 2 people can eat out of one plate. You will not be let down with how fresh the food is . Please try there home made drink it's a purple corn base drink it's not to sweet. I didn't give a five star rating only because I didn't have the "ceviche". But it kept being order so I can assume its good and safe to eat. They are in total compliance with covid-19 protocol they have limited sitting, sanitizing stations, must have masks on when not eating and walking to the bathroom. You can call ahead and order for pick up or you can dine-in but must wait outside.

Google
I had a greater impression the first time I came but this time my impression has been diminished, because of the fact that I had to wait for the food to arrive. That's why I am giving a 3 stars Pros: Food has a good presentation and it taste as traditional Peruvian food. Con: Slow service. Particular on Sunday, owner should consider to have more waitress. Bistec a lo podre was not tender. Maybe the quality of the meet was not the best for this tradition plate.

First time there. The place very nice. Clean. The food. Wow. Wow. Wow. We had the rice super good. Fresh. Yummy. We order the one with shrimp. A lot of shrimp . We also order the fried seafood plate. It was so so good. It was fried but not greasy. And the picked onions were too die for. They were so good that when we ask for take home containers we order an extra side of the pickled onions. Today we had the leftovers. 2 minutes in the air fryer. Tasted just as good as last night. Restaurant is in a small strip mall. Plenty of parking but tight squeeze when you think your car is a mini cooper but the size of a minivan. Not their fault. I do hear place gets packed on Friday and Saturday night late. We went at 6:30ish. Perfect time. They do serve wine and beer. Not sure on other liquors. I will be going back. It is worth the drive

Yelp

Yelp
Over the years, I have eaten here several times. Although I no longer work near this place, I still take the drive on some weekends because my family often craves their food. Post Covid, they now keep their door locked and take out orders are done outside but it's very efficient and they often offer you cold water while you wait. If you're dining in, they will still allow you to eat inside but it's controlled as far as capacity. I've mentioned, in many of my reviews that it's rare to find restaurants similar to this one with great food AND great customer service. Usually when you dine at a place that gets heavy traffic like Rinconcito Peruano, the staff gets so busy that they forget to be friendly but this is not the case here. As a matter of fact, since I've been ordering take out for so long, and I don't speak Spanish, I have my own person whom I speak with when I call in and she is the sweetest person. I ask for #4 (that's her number) and she comes to the phone and assists me. She even remembers the special things I like and always adds those little touches to my food each and every time without me having to ask each time (extra sauce etc). It's gotten to the point that she even greets me with a warm hug when I arrive to pick up my order. I feel so special when I come here. On one occasion, I asked my niece to call in the order for me. I told her "SALTADO" but her horrible pronunciation...lol, it sounded like she was saying "SUDADO". So of course, the order was incorrect but they were so nice about it that they ended up giving me a gift certificate towards my next order! I was shocked!!! I live too far away to come here as often as I would like to but I love it here!!! The food is always delicious and the staff is always PHENOMENAL! Thank you Rinconcito Peruano and #4 for making me feel your warm hospitality and friendly welcome each and every time I come! I'll be back soon...

Yelp
This restaurant is full of love and happiness. You can feel it the minute you walk in and in every bite of the food! The service is like no other; they cater to your every request. Plus they are super economical for having food so fresh and well made (hard to find these days). This place is a gem!

Glenny M.

Yelp
These people serve us in plastic containers because we were black everyone was les had glass cups

Patricia R.

Yelp
I have been coming here for years and this restaurant never disappoints. Food is always good. Out of many Peruvian restaurants I have tried it can't compare to this neighborhood gem. Tucked away in Hialeah in a non descript shopping center it is definitely a trip to make. Service is top notch. I recommend highly.

George M.

Yelp
Solid Peruvian My work best bud is Peruvian and she approves so who am I to question We've ordered several different dishes for lunch and have never been disappointed The service is Miami good and you Know what that means. They also have like a little market side where you can find traditional South American products if that's what you're looking for

ArtistiCake F.

Yelp
The ambiance is good, the restaurant and bathrooms are clean, the service is very cordial and the most important the FOOD is great. From the drinks to the desserts are delicious. This is not the first time I come to this place. Every time I come to Hialeah I want to come back to this place. 5 starts recommended!

Yelp
Upon placing our pickup order for a JALEA MIXTA dish, we were highly disappointed to find that the entire order was not up to par with our expectations. The food WAS completely COLDS AND DRY, with a lack of freshness that made us question whether it had been prepared the day before. The appearance and texture of the dish did not instill any confidence in us about its quality, as it lacked the vibrant colors and fresh ingredients that we were hoping for. Overall, we were left feeling unsatisfied with our experience and wondering if our meal had been hastily put together without much care or attention to detail.

Oneida L.

Yelp
Although I live minutes away, I had never been here and it was amazing, the fish ceviche was delicious and had a great size also had the Causa de Atún and wow. I will definitely go back.

Emerly L.

Yelp
My favorite Peruvian restaurant. Everything taste fresh and delicious. Service is always great.

Erudito C.

Yelp
This is an update on this hidden gem! Food and service totally excellent. The front door remains locked , the staff opens the front door after you press the buzz at the door, the ambiance is quiet , group of families, couples and friends gathered for dinner.

Miguel A.

Yelp

Yelp
Rinconcito Peruano is Peruvian home cooking at its best. I really don't know why I haven't written a review of this place before... I have been coming here for years. Even before they had a restaurant ! When visiting Rinconcito Peruano order the fish ceviche, choros a la chalaca, Jalea mixta and maybe a Parihuela. I know it is a lot of food so either bring friends or take a few trips. You will like them all. The Parihuela soup is excellent, lots of seafood and a touch of spiciness that keeps drawing you in. Jalea mixta is this dish with all fried seafood (delicious). If you like drinks try the passion fruit pisco. This unpretentious restaurant delivers in food and in service. Thumbs up

Keyra S.

Yelp
Everything was delicious!!! Great service Location on point And comfortable ambiance

Frank A.

Yelp
We waited for almost 2 hours for our food to come out . We always come here food is super good but the service is horrible..

Norbert C.

Yelp
Turn out the lights and smack your momma! This food is so good and the service is top notch. If you like seafood you need to check this place out. My mother in law raves about this place and I was so skeptical- she offered to take us there and wow was she right. I love seafood and a dish called the Jalea Mista is a mound of Piping Hot (because every dish is made fresh to order) Calamari, Jumbo Shrimp, Grouper and Mussels in a light batter over a bed of lettuce - fried Yucca and thinly sliced purple onion. I'm posting a picture but it really does it no justice- 2 people can eat from this dish. If your really hungry order the Ceviche also huge portion and super fresh. This is the real deal. That was so good I also tried their other location on Bird Rd for Cuban food and it was also great. P.S. the Sangria looked awesome.

Nelc A.

Yelp
Without a doubt, the best Peruvian restaurant in Hialeah, it has no competition, there may be many around, but this is the authentic taste of home, with the seasoning of Mrs. Lucy. You can enjoy the best "Lomo Saltado" in this restaurant, 100% recommended, their drink "Chicha Morada" is 100% natural. All the food in this restaurant is totally delicious, the seafood, the ceviches. It is one of the few restaurants that offer you the exquisite "Pollada", a crispy fried chicken, accompanied with its Salsa Criolla, you cannot miss it !! Visit this place and enjoy the authentic taste of Peruvian food.

Michel M.

Yelp
Excellent food , great service big menu many items to chose from , and all fresh food, friendly staff

Elaine A.

Yelp
The food is so good the price are good as well the service is awesome we go every time we are in Hialeah

Vanessa M.

Yelp
HANDS DOWN, YOU HAVE TO COME HERE. Their portions are huge, you can share it all!! I had been really craving seafood and I don't think I ever want to try another Peruvian place again. I had their Jalea Mixta, Arroz Chaufa with Shrimp and Seafood Rice and don't forget to get a shot of the Leche de Tigre!!! That's a must at any Peruvian restaurant. I can't wait to go back!!

Nicole A.

Yelp
Delicious food, great (and fast!) service, and family-friendly environment. Our waitress, Silvana, was very sweet & efficient. Comida deliciosa, servicio bueno y rapido, y ambiente familiar. Nuestra mesera, Silvana, era muy amable y eficiente.

Nelson R.

Yelp
I've been to this place several times and always the food is very tasty authentic and the portions are fair according to the prices that you pay. Service is always excellent as they come to check on you several times during your meal. I love their complimentary hot sauces. Parking could be a bit of a challenge especially on weekends. I will suggest adding more benches for customers waiting outside for a table. Bathrooms were clean and the AC was working I definitely recommend this place.

Yelp
Waited literally 55 minutes for a arroz chaufa de mariscos, which is a $17 plate that was just rice onions and 3 clams. No shrimp or calamari in the absolute as they claim in the menu. Staff is really lazy and without willingness to work or to make you feel welcomed. I do not recommend this place at all.

Rafael S.

Yelp
The place is good to introduce you the Peruvian food, they have the almost topical plate. You can think that each plate is expensive but actually not because the portions are big and believe me, you can order to share it. I ordered "leche de Tigre" and was normal, not big deal, it can be better, however "lomo saltado" was really great and I think that is a great option. The "arroz chaufa" (Peruvian fried rice) was normal. Ask for Maria, she knows how to give you a pleasant time during your visit.

Christopher S.

Yelp
So this place was recommended to me by some friends and family. They kept taking about how great the food was and how amazing the service was. So I decided to check it out. When we got there the first thing you notice is they sell different things from Peru. They had cookies and various snacks. They had beans and cooking supplies. It was pretty cool. The way they have the restaurant decorated it feels like you're in a town in Peru. I ordered the meat platter. I thought it was gonna have small pieces of the types of meat but no they brought out 3 steaks! 1 chicken, 1 pork and 1 beef with rice and beans! It was so much food!! But it was delicious!! I will definitely be coming back to try more of there food! Also, I will definitely recommend this restaurant to anyone who wants great food!!

Jeannette V.

Yelp
Sadly, I'll be looking for a new Peruvian when I'm in that area. There were only 4 other tables occupied, yet almost 15 minutes just to take the order, after I moved from the original table because I got tired of waiting there. Remember NOTHING is too big to fail.

Leonard G.

Yelp
the employees were super rude and uncaring they were really rude and non helpful to me and my family and almost refused to sever us cause we had six children with us and even after that they refused to also give us a place to sit like if we were some dogs out in the street and even after we got our waters they still didn't let us sit inside and didn't even care to give us some chairs

Lili F.

Yelp
I love this place! The food the service the location and the staff especially Lucia which is always a great waitress. I enjoy the Jalea de pescado with the Chupa de Cameron's to share with the familia. I rate El Rinconsito Peruano a five star.

Shirley R.

Yelp
The food is great! The service could be a little better but you can't have it all. I had Ceviche Chef Dino which is fabulous. Yummy

Kelvis D.

Yelp
My BF has been wanting to take me to this place for a while now. So we went to celebrate his new job. The place is hidden away in a strip mall, as most places in Miami, the outside does it no justice. On the inside it was a very cozy restaurant and to our surprise it was packed! We quickly scored a table, it was three of us and we had no reservation. They had Chulpe at the table waiting for us. We ordered a nice bottle of wine and for appetizer we got the Yuca a la huancaina and the Ceviche de pescado. The Yuca was yummy and my BF and my mom devoured the ceviche. I tried it, i'm not a fan of seafood, and it tasted it pretty good :) For the main entrees I got the Saltado de churrasco. It was good, but it was missing something for me. I was expecting more flavor and the beef to be nicer. It wasn't bad, but it wasn't great. My mom had the Camarones al ajillo and I could tell she really enjoyed it because she finished her plate in record time. My BF had the Arroz con mariscos. He enjoyed that one as well. For dessert we shared the tres leches which was super yummy and had some espresso to end the meal. Our waiter was super nice and consistently came by to check up on us. The main entrees did take a while to appear, but the waiter constantly kept checking in with us to make sure we had enough wine. Definitely check this place out. The atmosphere was great, it felt super cozy, the menu has something for everyone, and the prices were pretty good. You'll see us here again!

Rafael L.

Yelp
The Best Family owned and run . Family members are the chefs peruvian and proud of the food they serve. Service is amazing.!!

Ada M.

Yelp
Second time here.Food is excellent, service quick and pleasant. They also have a little store when you get in with a bunch of Peruvian produce. You should try it,won't regret

Natty B.

Yelp
Disclaimer: If I could score in halves, my honest score would be a 3.5 but as always, I round up because that's how decimals work. This restaurant is my Peruvian father in law's favorite local restaurant. The restaurant is always busy and the food is always fresh. The is the closest thing to homemade Peruvian food that I have had. Since the restaurant is always busy I do suggest to go before you start getting "hangry" in case there is a wait time. The food is made to order so try to get your order in as soon as possible and expect to wait for a bit, after all it's not fast food. What I Recommend: - Cause de atun: Generous portion of golden potato and tuna, great way to start your meal. - Leche de tigre: Ask for them extra spicy! So much flavor! If it were up to me I'd spend my whole visit asking for rounds of these. - Jalea: You cant go wrong with fried seafood. I like the fact that their breading isn't too heavy or drenched in oil. Great for sharing. -Ceviche de pescado: made to order with plenty of citrus juice! The service can be a bit slow at times and from time to time you will see tables that came in after you receive their food first which can irk some people. I don't pay it too much mind but I know that can be a deal breaker for some. While I have no complaints about the quality of the food, I have found that the ceviche has been consistently under seasoned. I usually end up adding salt myself or adding the juices from the leche de tigre to give it more flavor. There have been several occasions in which I have requested it to be made as spicy as possible and it hasn't been spicy at al. Again, small things that don't really bother me because they can easily be adjusted which can understandably irk others. When I think of ceviche in Hialeah, this isn't the first place that comes to mind but I definitely wouldn't put it down.

Valentin E.

Yelp
Is ok not what I thought my son ate the fish and he loved it. The lomo salteado was eatable. Will try it again

Jose T.

Yelp
This is my go to spot for Peruvian food in Hialeah. The restaurant also has a little market inside to purchase Peruvian goods to go. My favorite dishes to order here are the jalea mixta, chaufa de camarones and chaufa de mariscos. This time I ate at the restaurant and our server Marjorie was great and provided great service as well during our visit. Best Peruvian option in Hialeah.

Anabel M.

Yelp
Really I'd give it 3.5 stars. El rinconcito makes great Peruvian food, but lately they have been slacking on the service. The last time I came it took a while to be seated. I had to ask for water twice and they served the toasted corn without the two sauces. The food took forever!!! An order of ceviche, lomo saltado and jalea familiar took approximately 45 minutes to get to the table. I don't remember the last time I waited so long for food at a restaurant. And simple food, at that. I will say that the jalea was delicious, but how can you mess up fried seafood? The lomo was tasty and the ceviche was okay. I've had better. I had the impression it had been sitting out for a while. The place has it ups and downs and I probably went on an off day because I used to think this place was great.

Jessica C.

Yelp
Delicious authentic Peruvian cuisine! The staff is amazing. The food may took a while you be served but that's because it's made when ordered, always fresh! The restaurant itself is a hole in the wall, the parking can be a problem but it's all worth it!

Jordanna E.

Yelp
We were at a soccer game nearby and we decided to leave during half time and try this place with such great reviews. Seeing the pictures online made me reminisce of some great homemade Peruvian food from the past. We walked in a couple minutes before 8:00 and were sat quickly. The place is cute, you forget where you are! Everyone was super hospitable. Our server's name was Rosita and she was very kind and when I was deciding on an appetizer, after being told they no longer had the avocado salad, she said to get one for sure because the food would take about an hour to come out of the kitchen. It's Mother's Day and I anticipated a few bumps, I've been in the restaurant business, I get it. I appreciated her honesty. Well we quickly got our drinks and the sangria was great. We received the complimentary corn kernels with the super spicy sauce soon after. Maybe ten mins later we got the appetizer and it was good but a bit on the small side. Well one hour after waiting Rosita comes over looking very distressed, at this point the restaurant was at about 60% occupancy and very few tables had food. I told her it was a school night and I was wondering how much longer it would be for the food. She said about half an hour but not with the most convincing of faces which meant it was time to go. We ordered a lomo saltado and a ceviche. It shouldn't take an hour and a half for that... No way! I suggest that they consider a limited menu for holidays. No one wants to wait two hours for food, and you could actually turn your tables and your severs could make money. We love going to soccer games down the block and were hoping to find a good new spot. Back to Los Ranchos we go!

Elvis M.

Yelp
This is my local go to spot when going to eat Peruvian food. The place is small and the parking on the weekends is sometimes a pain. But with the quality of food, the amount of food is served and price, it is by far the best deal out there. My favorite dish would be the Jalea, which is a lot of fried fish and sea food mix with salad. The jalea is a lot of food, and if you eat it all, good luck walking out lol.

Daniela C.

Yelp
I order from this restaurant just for the lomo saltado, it's a must have !!! Easily the best I've ever had.

Annie S.

Yelp
Delicious. Highly recommend! I had the Asian rice and ceviche. I also has chupe de camarón. Wow! It was amazing! Reasonable prices.

Merlin T.

Yelp
We happened to google places to eat because we were in the area and had been craving lomo saltado. The food was delicious! And our waitress, Silvana, was really attentive and sweet. The prices were extremely affordable. Will for sure be back here.

Annette B.

Yelp
The food and the service were o.k., I love Peruvian food so much so that I visited the country. This place has a very very small little market which makes it a bit different than other restaurants. It is close to my house which is a plus.

Sonali A.

Yelp
the restaurant is great since there's a little store attached inside and you're able to buy things after your meal. The meal i had was really full of flavor but you'll want to ask for more of the less spicy sauce offered with the complimentary fried corn.

Vanessa D.

Yelp
Never would have thought that this place would be so good! The food is like a home cooked meal. I'm not Peruvian but do love Peruvian food. This place gets my stamp of approval. Their portions are very generous and the seafood/meats are very good quality.

Jennifer G.

Yelp
This place is a gem! Great Peruvian food in Hialeah! They also have a lot of entrees that are native in Peru but not usually found at Peruvian restaurants. The service could be better but the food makes up for it.

Mercy R.

Yelp
This is my favorite Peruvian restaurant in Hialeah it's a small hole in the wall but the service is great and the quality of food is great too! My favorite appetizer is the causa and the fish ceviche. My favorite dish is the Lomo saltado and the jalea Great little spot must try!
