"The pompous fiberglass chef standing outside Rinconcito Peruano gives life to this ordinary Hialeah strip mall. During the week, the Peruvian restaurant fills up for lunch with people avoiding their bosses and craving good jalea. Beyond the appetizers, all plates are shareable with portions appropriate for baby elephants. The ceviche mixto is very citrusy and comes topped with their salsa criolla that can probably make expired yogurt taste good. The tacu is slightly bland, but again, their salsa criolla is a flavor cure-all. For dessert, get the suspiro limeño that’s a sweet caramel custard topped with cinnamon and merengue (and maybe don’t add salsa criolla to this)." - Mariana Trabanino
