"Rino’s is a cozy, family-owned East Boston institution known for enormous portions and long wait times. It’s worth it, but if you’re in a hurry, go early on a weeknight when it’s less crowded. Grab a spot in the long dining room, which feels a bit like a train car tunneling toward Carm and Tony’s kitchen on a Sunday night. Anything on the menu with fresh lobster or the house tomato cream sauce is a must order, especially if perfect pink sauce is your thing. The veal or chicken marsala isn’t a reinvention, but it’s the kind of staple dish you’ll sit on the T for over an hour to eat (true story)." - tanya edwards, joel ang, dan secatore

"Rino’s Place in East Boston has the hard-to-find lovability of locals and tourists alike. This is no-frills, classic Italian American checker-tablecloth dining. The ravioli are made to order, and no meal is complete without a plate of crispy calamari for the table. Come hungry; portions tend toward gigantic. (No reservations; walk-ins only.)" - Nathan Tavares, Tommy Ranucci, Eater Staff

"You’ll immediately feel like you’re part of the family at Rino’s - mostly because you’ll be sitting so close to the next table that you can’t help but overhear how Uncle Antonio’s latest hair loss remedy is coming along. Restaurant size aside, the menu is pretty standard American-Italian food - bolognese, chicken parmigiana, veal marsala - with unbelievably large portions. You can’t make reservations for parties smaller than six, so plan ahead and be prepared to wait in line before they open." - Joel Ang

Google
second time going here and I can absolutely call this place my home, I love that they don’t do reservations, if you get lucky you get lucky but if it’s busy you better WAIT! The food and atmosphere is amazing!! You better come hungry from the day before because the meal portions are enormous !!! We started the night off with some amazing Calamari with tomato sauce, I had the braised short ribs with risotto & asparagus, best dish hands down I’ve had in a long time, my wife had the lobster Ravioli and let me tell you she fell in love ! CASH ONLY CASH ONLY CASH ONLY parking is a nightmare but if you find one you’re in luck

Google
Amazing food and portion sizes! 100% worth the hype. Heads up- they don’t take reservations and are cash only. I recommend going to an early dinner to avoid a long wait.

Google
By chance Southwest sent our luggage on an extended trip and we decided to grab dinner nearby in East Boston and wait on its arrival. Going to Rino’s changed our day for the better - after a short wait we enjoyed some of the freshest, best tasting pasta I’ve ever had! Well worth a stop!

Google
Classic Italian comfort food with large portions. Shrimp scampi and the pastas we tried were all authentic and flavorful. Probably the most amount of fillings we’ve ever seen in a lobster ravioli. The only downside is that this place is cash only, and the neighborhood is in the middle of gentrification. It did not feel like the safest place to be walking around. Nonetheless, the food was great and we definitely recommend experiencing it.

Google
First time at Rino’s Place with family visiting from out of town. WOW, the food was fantastic and oh my gosh the portions were Huge!! Be prepared to be driving around for a while looking for parking. We had great customer service and sat by the window with our party of four. The restaurant is small, quaint and lovely. Highly recommend!!

Google
Stopped in yesterday with my brother, The pepper sauce was amazing. Huge portions!!! I was forcing myself to try and finish my plate because we are from out of town and can’t bring any leftovers. The waiter was concerned because we didn’t want to bring any of the leftovers with us. Shows she really cared about you leaving satisfied We explained to her we would if we didn’t have an 8 hour drive. That actually made her feel better 😂 Also get at least one meatball they are the best! Just bring cash and there are parking options on the street.

Google
I suggest ordering the up charge for the homemade ravioli. The food was delicious and portion size extremely large. I preferred the red sauce, but everything was so good. Food came out really quick too. It didn’t take that long to find parking, but expect there is no lot.

Google
We were mesmerized by their amazing food!! Lol So I was looking for a restaurant with the best lobster plates when I came across a Triple D video on YouTube, and this place was number 1 on the video. I was so excited to find out Rino's Place is in East Boston, only 30 minutes from me!! So you know, I definitely had to try them out. My fiancé and I are obsessed with this place and can not wait to go again. The food was truly amazing! Best lobster ravioli I've ever had! The atmosphere and the waiter were awesome! It is a cash only establishment. However, they do have an ATM inside the restaurant.

Brittany S.

Yelp
The service and food were amazing! The food came out quickly and the portions were definitely shareable. I upgraded my pasta to the homemade noodles for $10 and it was worth it! Cash only!

Yelp
I recently ordered takeout from Rinos, and I must say, the experience was a mixed bag. First off, the convenience of takeout is always a plus, but I found the cash-only policy to be a bit inconvenient. In today's digital age, it would be great if they accepted cards to streamline the process. However, the highlight of my meal was undoubtedly the lobster ravioli. It was incredible--perfectly cooked pasta that was light and tender, enveloping a rich filling packed with succulent lobster. The accompanying sauce was a standout as well, featuring chunks of lobster that added an extra layer of flavor. Each bite was a delightful combination of creamy and savory, making it one of the best dishes I've had in a long time. Overall, while the cash-only policy was a hassle, the food--especially the lobster ravioli--made it worth the trip. I'll be back for more!

Yelp
A few things you should know before you attempt to visit: Street parking is very limited in the area and is permit only M-F from 6pm to 8am. Also, the restaurant's inside dining space is small. I believe there are only 10 tables (though I did see some outdoor tables as well). I'd suggest arriving as early as possible and/or expect to wait in a line outside. One of the staff even has the message 'Yes, you have to wait outside' imprinted on the back of her shirt, lol You've been forewarned! This is a cash only establishment. They have an ATM. I arrived 30 minutes before opening on a Saturday and was the second person in line and was very pleased that I was able to get in and get a great seat at the front window. Enjoyed my meal and wine tremendously! Started off with asparagus wrapped with prosciutto topped with goat cheese and drizzled with balsamic glaze. It was delicious. I thought it was going to be warm, but it was cold, but still good. Paired a Pinot Grigio with lobster ravioli - which was absolutely wonderful. Loved the rich flavor of the fresh plum tomato brandy cream sauce! Amazing food, great service and warm ambience!

Yelp
I stumbled across Rino's when I was visiting Boston for work. Might have been the best meal I have ever had. Their vongole with white sauce and house Chianti was amazing. Smallish restaurant, tables were full of happy patrons. Only downside: cash only. No worries, there's an ATM down the street. Be sure to visit, you will not be disappointed.

Yelp
2 nd time here with auntie Ellie Just so good. Every thing was super delicious and tasty. Michelle got the veal parm and I stuck to my favourite tortellini. All the waitstaff are very attentive and caring. Thank you Cheryl for taking care of auntie Ellie. The nieces from vegas

Yelp
I can't even begin to tell how incredible this place is! Let me start by saying I ate here for the first and only time while visiting Boston over 3 years ago. Today while planning a return trip to Boston in a few months, I was started looking through some pictures in order to get the name of the bed and breakfast where we stayed and I came across this picture of the limoncello scallops and was immediately transported back in my mind to the day where we happened across this restaurant and decided to stop based solely on the name (my mother's maiden name is Rino). It's a very unassuming restaurant in a very unassuming residential area but the food is anything but unassuming. Everything was delicious but the limoncello scallops were the star of the show! Huge plump perfectly cooked sea scallops with spinach in a lemony sauce so good I wanted to drink it when I was done

Yelp
Make the trip to East Boston if you want an incredible Italian experience. Rino's Place does have some seating outside but the dining room is small (maybe room to seat 40 inside). Many of the staff are experienced and been there for a while and add to your dining visit. All wearing shirts with funny sayings from the restaurant. Also make sure you have plenty of cash or your debit card to use the ATM since they are cash only. The portions are plentiful. The sauces are incredible. We started with calamari with delicious pepperoncinis on top. As well as a Caprese which comes in full and 1/2 portions. For my entree, I ordered the Gnocchi and the plum sauce and fresh mozzarella were the perfect complement of the potato dumplings. We all walked out with a great experience and a to go box for all the great food we didn't want to go to waste.

Yelp
One of the best Italian restaurants that I've been to. The lobster ravioli is good, but I honestly prefer the Bolognese pasta (my personal preference). The rigatoni pasta in the Bolognese had the right amount of bounce/chew to it. The octopus (appetizer) was also quite nice! And as many have already commented, the portion size is huge - truly a delight! We came on a Tuesday night at 7:45pm and there was no wait time as there were several open tables. Definitely recommend if you are in Boston. Oh, and it is a cash-only place.

Yelp
So I saw this place on IG, they have some fried Mozz balls that looked amazing. We started with the Arancini Balls and Mozzarella Balls. Both were amazing!!! I ordered the Carrozella with homemade pasta... holy....b&**^^% it was fantastic!! After the big appetizers, my wife ordered the eggplant app for her meal. I will say the good is some of the best I've had, but the staff were amazing. I literally walked in with my phone showing them reels from IG and saying I want this.... Some things to think about... it's a small place, no reservations and you have to wait outside for your table. So if it's rainy, bring your umbrella!

Bob L.

Yelp
Happy to see that the quantity and quality have remained unchanged (aside from the price increases due to inflation)!! Items we ordered as of 9/2023: - Lobster Ravioli - $41: In my opinion still one of the best entrees here! Plump raviolis (8 total) packed full of delicious lobster! The sauce is also a huge highlight with the perfect creaminess to bring everything together. - Frutti de Mare - $41: if you like seafood this is also a great entree to have. The amount provided is huge so be prepared to take leftovers home! - Fried Calamari - $17: Really fresh and the quantity is fantastic. No sauce accompanies this unfortunately. - Scallop Limoncello - $10 (for a half size): Great presentation and flavor. The buttery spinach pairs well with the perfectly prepared scallops. Unfortunately the sauce was on the salty side. Overall happy to be back!

Yelp
Fantastic food and great service! We went with a party of 8 and the entire wait staff was incredible. They were kind, funny, and efficient. The food was delicious - so authentic! We started with the calamari which was some of the best around. They're lobster ravioli and Gnocchi was to die for. And their limoncello cake was *chefs kiss*. Special shoutout to Anna our waitress - she was the best! Cash only. Beer and wine only. Enjoy!

Yelp
Like another reviewer said- this is a GEM of a restaurant. This has all of the makings of a successful local restaurant- warm hospitality, delicious food, and a bustling ambience. Arriving around 6PM we were warmly greeted, put our name on the list and realized there's no place to wait inside the restaurant. So we waited outside, then took a short walk and were called. We were presented with the drink list which included bottled beers and numerous wines by the glass or bottle. Then to the menus- the stock menu featured traditional southern Italian fare- apps, pastas and entrees. The special menu was incredible maybe 40 or 50 more appetizers and entrees far more creative than I would have expected. Our appetizers were supurb- seared scallops on a bed or spinach in a limoncello featured 4 large sea scallops (almost a meal in itself). I had grilled octopus- a surprisingly tender and large tentacle perfecly prepared with a hint of charcoal flavor from the grill. For the main course we shared a huge veal saltimbocca including tender veal and supurbly tasty prosciutto. We brought home half of this. A really nice evening. A few tips- Be prepared to wait- outside. Parking inthe area can be tough as its mostly resident parking (M-F 6PM-8AM) but there are some nono-resident parking available on the main streets i.e Bennington. Finally allow time to checkout the Madonna Queen of the Universe National Shrine about a 10 minute drive- sits up high overlooking Boston Harbor and Logan Airport- Amazing views! 120-150 Orient Ave (Tues-Sat 8:30AM-6:30PM.)

Yelp
Tremendous food and experience. Fortunately for us they had lunch hours on Fridays. Lobster Ravioli and Calamari were spectacular. About 10 tables or so for dining. Well definitely return.

Michael F.

Yelp
By far the best Italian restaurant in Massachusetts. The food and the service are second to none, and that includes the North End. I've been going here for over 30 years and it's only gotten better and better....

Gina M.

Yelp
Food - Calamari was excellent. Light, crispy, fresh. Gnocchi was light and airy, very delicious but sauce lacked flavor. Ravioli filling was good but pasta was thick and undercooked. Sauce in the dish lacked flavor. Service- fast and fair Ambiance- It's a real neighborhood spot. No frills and small. Be warned there's no place to wait. If it is pouring rain outside, it is not a place you would want to visit. Area is residential and sketchy. Cash only! Even though I would not return, I would still recommend this place for others to try different dishes.

Mark B.

Yelp
Went to Rinos today can't say enough about the food and the staff!!! Everything was amazing, if you are going save some time to find parking but it is worth that wait!!!!!

Wayne P.

Yelp
Just ate their last night!! What an amazing meal and huge portions. If coming to Boston, do yourself a favor if you want Italian food, skip the North End and go to East Boston for this gem. Have eaten many times in the North End and this is the best.

Lori D.

Yelp
Omg! The red sauce with the ravioli was beyond words! Best Italian I've had... not kidding. We had the ravioli, & gnocchi, & bolognese rigatoni. Huge portions and the wine pours were the large! --Absolutely loved this restaurant!! Will come back the next time we are in Boston. Incredible service too! All I can say is WOW!

Andrew G.

Yelp
To summarize the other reviews (which were super helpful!): This is a cash-only (an ATM is located in a bodega about 1 block away), smaller establishment and there will likely be a wait. You enter into a small foyer, give your name and phone number to the hostess, and then you leave (no loitering inside) . The hostess then calls you when your table is ready. We waited about 1.5 hours on a Friday evening which was reasonable I felt - there are some bars within walking distance so you dont have to stand outside aimlessly if you don't want to (we went to Cabana and had some great pre-dinner cocktails). Now, this place is hands down the most authentic Italian-American experience I've had. Our waitress was super charming, really sassy and treated us like old friends/family despite it being late - I'm sure she was tired so her excellent service was even more appreciated. She recommended a good bottle of red wine which came quickly, as did the food. We had the arancini (texturally just perfectly crispy on the outside and quite tasty), the lobster ravioli (big portion and the lobster tasted fresh), the gnocchi (biggest portion I've ever seen, plus as much real parmesan cheese as you want added table-side) and the tiramisu (honestly amazing and tasted like concentrated espresso, not wimpy like other tiramisu). I also appreciated that they had coffee available for after dinner. Admittedly this was not the best Italian food I have ever had state-side - everything was quite good (and the arancini and tiramisu were great) but nothing Michelin star eye popping. THAT SAID, this restaurant is not going for gourmet Italian. They are going for large portions of fresh home cooked food. If the chefs wanted to halve the portions and up the flavor by making the dishes more complex, I'm sure they could, but that's not what this is about. I give Rino's 5 stars because they aim for a very specific experience and completely nail it. And I can tell you I haven't had such a fun restaurant experience in a while. So while I have had better gnocchi and arancini, I've never had them served up in such big portions and in such a vibrant setting. And I'm sure if I came back enough times I'd find my go-tos on the menu. Also, big props to the other waitress/hostess who told us she was working late and in high school! That must have been a long night for her but she was delightful and also made us feel welcome and at home. Rino's staff really makes the mood and is a big part of their 5 stars! I would definitely return and I hope to one day.

Yelp
I love this place. I am from the Midwest and now a transplant in the north shore. I am SO glad I found this wonderful gem. I always bring family and friends here from out of town. It is very small but cute, come early to get a table. They take your name at the door. The portions are delicious and HUGE! The service is always great and the food doesn't disappoint. Can't wait to keep coming back

Chuti P.

Yelp
The food was so good I forgot to take pictures. Wow, what a place!!! Giant size portion for you to take home and enjoy again. I'm not gonna lie, the parking was nuts but worth it. Be sure to bring CASH!!

Sarah L.

Yelp
We tried going on our anniversary which was a Tuesday, but they stopped seating. So we tried again on my birthday- which unfortunately feel on a Friday. We got there in time but half the restaurant was taken up by a graduation party. Needless to say we waited! We were warned it would be a while- 1&1/2 hours later we were good and hungry- thank goodness because the portions are large. We started with the stuffed peppers- so fresh and all ingredients hit your palate the peppers, sausage and ricotta. Then we had fresh mozzarella breaded and pan seared topped with a fresh plum tomato sauce- so good! For our meals, we had lobster ravioli - had huge chunks of lobster- and Pasta al Forno which I couldn't recommend enough- fresh pasta mini meatball, dollops of ricotta in a bright tomato sauce and baked with cheese. Needless to say, we ended up with two other meals. Our server was great and didn't make us feel bad that we were there past closing. It's cash only so hit the ATM prior. Well worth the wait!!!

Elsie W.

Yelp
The first time I came here was in 2010 and I have been wanting to come back since. The ambiance, the food, the staff - are all incredible. The portions are huge and the food is flavorful and delicious. One of my most favorite spots in the US!!!! We ordered the gnocchi, bruschetta, pasta Al forno - all incredible. Always save room for dessert!

Joseph B.

Yelp
If you haven't heard of Rino's in East Boston, you must live under a rock. Huge portions, decent prices, great waitresses, trolly car feel, and absolutely delicious food. It's my go to for Italian food. Homemade pastas and an extensive specials menu. We went with two apps. Scallop Lemonciello and Shrimp GrandMarnier. I've had the Lemonciello before and it used to be my favorite appetizer until I tried the Grandmarnier. Sweet snappy fresh shrimp in an even sweeter booze butter sauce. I went with the Roast Pork Tenderloin, which was walnut crusted finished with a spicy prune sauce. It was served with really great potato croquettes and grilled asparagus. I've had this dish before and I'll have it again. My girlfriend went with the Lobster Ravioli. Palm sized ravioli with chunks of lobster in a plum tomato cream sauce. Both were amazing. If you don't know, now you know. Go.

Elizabeth C.

Yelp
Arrived at 7pm on a rainy Friday night. We waited an hour for our table...I usually refuse to wait for a table and would go someplace else but I had a feeling this place was worth the wait. We had the lobster ravioli (my fave), the stuffed eggplant (two of my aunt's fave), spaghetti bolognese (my 2nd fave), and the calamari (as expected). Dayaaaaaam the sauce flavors of the lobster ravioli and the spaghetti bolognese were amazing, so delicious. The portions are so huge. I observed every party left with to-go boxes, and so did we. Had enough for a meal the next day! The restaurant is located off the beaten path, very neighborhoody and local. The staff were very friendly and welcoming. Our server was super charming and funny.

Lea L.

Yelp
All I can think about since I've been to Rino's is when will I be back. Their food is sooooo good. The service is super friendly and welcoming. Proportions are extremely generous and nothing is overpriced. I will definitely be back sooner rather than later. The only thing I'd change next time is that I'd show up a little earlier as it is a wait list to get a table and people come early to put their name down.

Grace H.

Yelp
We ordered spaghetti bolognese and lobster ravioli. Both portions were huge; the spaghetti was humongous, and it was piping hot. The pasta itself was delicious, one can tell it was freshly made. The ravioli was also good. My only complaint was the customer service. While our waitress was nice, not so much with the host (for that deduct one star )! FYI cash only establishment.

Alejandro E.

Yelp
Closed for vacation. Expend 45 mins drive to go and then head back to north end. Vacations ends on 8/26

Marie J.

Yelp
Worth the wait. Fresh homemade pasta. We ordered the mix calamari & scallops- delish! My son loved lobster ravioli! I had the fruti di mare! All are amazing

Marc M.

Yelp
Best bite of Italian you'll have in the US. Very good service and a lot of care goes into their craft. Impressive all around and a rare find. It's laughable to see people crying on here about cold FREE bread and the heavy set guy who eats 90% over spiced Asian food crying about no flavor etc. Dude, stick with shoveling mass amounts of Sichuan in your pie hole and stay in your lane. Rino's FTW always.

Dominique D.

Yelp
I love going to Rino's! The portions are out of this world and the service is great (always laughing with the servers). The restaurant is on the small side, but outdoor seating during the warmer months help a ton. Heads up they do not take reservations so be prepared to wait in line for a bit, but it's so worth it. I love taking friends and family to this gem in east Boston!!

Ann P.

Yelp
I love Rino's. We arrived early and were seated in a comfy 4 top. The service is friendly and casual. Our server was ready to sit and hang out at our table, lol. Food was standard American Italian and quite tasty. it was also served piping hot. Wine pours are massive. Everything was tasty. I cannot wait to return as my daughter now resides in Eastie.

James C.

Yelp
WTF !!! This gem of a restaurant is unworldly guys !! Let's start with the location.. the restaurant is located inside a East Boston neighborhood. You better use your GPS and make sure it's updated because if u don't you will pass right by it ... When you do find the place you will be greeted by a group of lovely ladies that will treat you like family... All three dishes I posted were completely made with love. You better be super duper hungry because the portions in these amazing Italian dishes are CRAZY !!! Sadie made sure that we didn't want for nothing. She made the experience complete!! She recommended several dishes and we thankfully listened to her. She was completely professional during our time there ... The Ambiance inside the restaurant is perfect. You will feel like your on Newbury St and not in the heart of a East Boston neighborhood.. This place will be placed in my great food rotation. It's a must experience......

Journey C.

Yelp
I would 1000% recommend Rino's Place! The food portion sizes are HUUUGE & the wine pours were just as big. If you enjoy pairing your food with wine, definitely order a glass as you're waiting for your food to arrive - you'll be wowed by what they give you! I ordered the matriciana and I absolutely loved it. The creamy sauce was so rich with lots of cheese and caramelized onions. The homemade rigatoni had the perfect chew as well. I personally think it was the best dish at the table! As an appetizer, we ordered the mixed calamari plate with scallops and shrimps. It was a great portion size for my party of 6. The scallops were cooked so well and everything was perfectly seasoned and flavorful! Definitely worth ordering if you enjoy seafood. Overall, the service was very fast, friendly, and efficient. I thoroughly enjoyed my time at Rino's Place :) One comment I will make is that because they don't accept reservations, my large party of 6 had to wait about 40 minutes on a Wednesday evening, but all smaller parties (2-4) were seated pretty quickly!

Gerald J.

Yelp
Visited this spot while in Boston this because I saw this place on Diners Drive in Dives ( my favorite show ) They featured the Lobster Ravioli and it looked so good! So I had to go see for myself. They place is very well known in Boston. Just a heads up the place is VERY small and sitting is very tight! The entire staff was wonderful! Very welcoming and friendly. The neighborhood atmosphere was great. You could tell a lot of the ppl come there all the time and have been coming for years which is something I really love. Our server Trina was GREAT! Now to the food...the portions are Humongous!! Pasta bowls are huge! So be prepared to eat! We ordered several different appetizers and several entrees . Everything was very fresh very good very well seasoned. We did get the lobster ravioli along with the ribeye we also got a couple of other things the ravioli was great and very tasty they were huge and they were stuffed overly stuffed with lobster! Stuffed mushrooms were my favorite appetizer. Everything was great the food came about pretty quickly. I highly recommend if you're in the Boston area that you check this place out!

Maggie D.

Yelp
Best Italian food ever! Guy did not steer us wrong on this one. Parking was a little difficult since it's in a residential area. The pasta amatricana was better than most pasta I had in Italy. The lobster ravioli was huge with tons of lobster. The portions are gigantic. I will not go back to Boston without a stop here!

Brittney R.

Yelp
This place is freaking amazing. "Not messing around, sticking with tradition" perfect Italian food. HUGE portions and for the price you are eating like royalty and leaving with food. Our servers are always so kind, talkative, quick and feel like family. The place is small so it doesn't feel like a big chain it keeps your local spot feel. Holiday wine pours too!

Denise K.

Yelp
This place did not disappoint. We went Friday at 11:30am and there was no wait - lunch time is the time to go. Easy to park, no waiting and the same menu. We started with the calamari which was tender and freshly cooked. We asked for a side of marinara sauce. I had the lobster ravioli and it was delicious. Plump, huge ravioli with lobster both in the filling and the sauce. They gave me 6 ravioli which was more than enough, I took 3 home. We also enjoyed the frutti de mar with red sauce which was full of clams, mussels, scallops, shrimp, and homemade linguini. The owner Anna waited on us and she made us feel at home. This place is a real gem - delicious homestyle Italian food with generous portions.

Danny G.

Yelp
Although we have only been able to do takeout, the food here is authentic Italian food. Extremely generous portions, and ample bread on the side to mop up the delicious gravy (red sauce). From what I can tell, the seating is limited but comfortable for groups of 4-6. Service has always been helpful and friendly to me while signing and finishing my takeout orders. Parking in the area is very scarce, best to take the bus or T.

Ilona D.

Yelp
We live in the neighborhood and can't say enough good things about Rino's! The interior is cute and cozy, with a very unique ceiling (it kind of looks like a boat!). There is not a full bar, but they have decent selection of reasonably priced wine and beer. During the summer, their outdoor area is very cute with lights and foliage. The service is efficient and friendly-- you're not getting white tablecloth service, but it has a lot of townie charm! But like, the FOOD!! I honestly think there are no misses. We always get the octopus appetizer-- never have I had a more perfectly cooked octopus--every single time. It's smoky and charred and lemony and the perfect texture. We keep saying we need to just order a bunch of apps next time we come, so that we can try something else without having to give this dish up. In terms of entrees, we've had a handful, and they are all amazing. The lobster ravioli, the Matriciana, the clams with linguine, al forno, bracioletii -- each one perfection. Last night we had the Rino's Special --veal, chicken, and shrimp with a brandy and wild mushroom sauce---and the Seafood Cannelloni --scallop, lobster and shrimp with yellow pepper sauce-- just unbelievably good. Never had the pasta come out anything but perfect, even for takeout. Are there downsides? Well, they don't take reservations and they are busy every night of the week. But like, come early, and just plan to hang out outside with your party for a while! As long as you manage your own expectations, you'll be fine. I guess some people might raise an eyebrow at the prices for some of the specials-- not compared to the quality of the food, but the service and surroundings don't necessarily clue you into the culinary experience you're about to have. If you're feeling nervous about the wait or the price, order takeout. You could feed a family of four with one of the pasta dishes (though no splitting of entrees if you dine in!). Even sharing, you'll have leftovers all week, I promise.

Yelp
Rino's place is the place we came out of our way to go to, to try from diners drive ins and dives. It was recommended by Guy Fieri and when we saw the episode we just knew we had to stop by this place right before we flew off back to Los Angeles. We had a pretty early dinner got there at 4:00 PM so we could sit and eat our meal and still have time to had to the airport afterward. This place serves hands down the best Italian food that we had in our entire visit! That being said there was overall a lot of good food in Boston! A must-get is the lobster ravioli that ravioli piece is thick and filled with a ton of fresh lobster. It was truly amazing and everyone at our table enjoyed it so much! We got the Fruitti Di Mare which is a seafood pasta filled with fresh mussels, clams, shrimp, and scallops. You can pick what type of noodle you wanted and we decided to get the thick one. This dish was also tasty, the seafood was fresh and the noodles were yummy! Our last dish is Melanzane Ripieno, which was an eggplant that was stuffed with a ton of ricotta cheese and baked well. I will be back and I truly love this place, the guest here were nice and the staff was super fun! Can't wait to come back!!

Yelp
Their portions are HUGE!! Don't be like us and Over order because we wanted to try everything! Their mussels were delicious and the Gnocchi was the best from all the pasta dish that we've ordered. Took off a star for the wait. You must put your name down in person in order to secure a spot.

Yelp
The food was disappointing but the entire experience was very fun. Arrived at 4 on a Friday, there was a line and we put our name down, and the hostess recommended we walk over to Kelley Square pub for a drink while we waited. She'd give us a call when our table was ready. We walked 2 1/2 blocks to the corner of Marion and Bennington and found the place, a great neighborhood bar with some restaurant seating. Ordered Eastie Lemonades, a potent mix of Jack Daniels and lemonade and a mixer--sort of a whiskey sour--and waited a long time, about an hour and a half, we were close to ordering a pizza at Kelley but got the call and sauntered. The four of us ordered a lot and it was all okay. The famous lobster ravioli was really salty. Gnocchi with shrimp piccata, average. Frito misto app was fine. Atmosphere great, every table filled with diners excited to have finally gotten seated, well-lubed and loud, waiters with lots of attitude, big platters of food, bottles of wine cheap at about $30. So, basically, go but not for the food--for the hype and for the buzz that generates.

Yelp
I had such high expectations for Rino's Place, especially since my favorite food blogger came here when he visited Boston. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UyxPUIslaYw&ab_channel=MarkWiens Sadly, the meal didn't come off to a great start as the bread was served hard and cold. As for the starter, I thought the peperoni ripieno had too much cheese and felt too heavy. Finally, the much-raved about lobster ravioli wasn't anything to write home about. There were a few lobster pieces here and there, but I was certainly hoping for more.

Yelp
Hole in the wall, worth whatever wait they tell you when you get there. No reservations, first come - first serve...local Italian dining at its finest. Me and my wife enjoyed our meal with 2 bottles of white!

Yelp
After watching Mark Weins' video about places to eat in Boston, we knew we couldnt miss out on this place during our Boston trip. We decided to come on a Friday night since they closed on Sunday. We arrived for dinner around 8pm, but we still had to wait for almost 45mins despite having outdoor seatings area since this place was very popular. It seemed very popular among both tourists and locals. I hope Rino's will consider yelp online waiting list in the future given the popularity they have. We decided to order the "Scallop, Calamari, and Lobstertail with Spaghetti Noodles" that came with a ginormous portion of fresh seafoods and their homemade noodles perfectly blended with fresh plum tomato sauce. We also ordered "Fruttie Di Mare" that has countless of clams, mussels, littlenecks, and shrimps with the pasta noodles hidden underneath all these delicious shellfish. Given the large portion, we couldn't finish our meals and had to take the remaining to go. Needless to say, we had the next 2 meals covered for and didnt have to go look for food places on the next day :)

Yelp
This is 100% without a doubt the best Italian restaurant in all the United States! I have tried many pasta dishes around the whole us but this wins 1st place. From the quality service when you walk in through the door to the delicious fresh hot, scrumptious dishes that come out through those kitchen doors. Every dish is ENORMOUS! Don't be fooled by the photos we couldn't finish our plates haha. Prices are very reasonable for the amount of food you receive. If you ever come across Rino's Place do not hesitate, put yourself on the waitlist (it's first come first service) and indulge in ultimate Italian goodness.

Yelp
Big tourist trap. What a letdown, maybe they've gone down hill but god was this overhyped. This is a classic case of quantity over quality where they give massive portions of mediocre food. All of the sauces were just extremely salty and one note, there was no clean robust flavors of fresh tomato or garlic. The texture of the Gnocchi and Linguine was awful too. I've heard about this place for years and it was not worth the trip.
