Rise - Review - Plano - Dallas - The Infatuation

"This French “soufflé salon” has been packed since it opened in 2024, with twinkly lights that remind us of Paris at Christmastime all year round. There are the usual sweet soufflés, but the savory options are where it’s at: jiggly towers of egg that soar above the confines of the ceramic ramekin, and arrive at your table straight from the oven. We’re partial to the cheesy jambon and gruyere, or the smoked salmon with creamed cheese and chives, and all of them come with a warm table baguette and side of whipped butter. The Marshmallow Soup, a bright and creamy carrot and tomato bisque with goat cheese “marshmallows,” is also worth an order." - Erin Booke

The Best Soups in Dallas | Eater Dallas

"The mini cheese souffles resembling marshmallows give this cult favorite tomato and red pepper soup its name. A few years ago, the owners of Rise tried to take its popular soup off the menu. After customers threatened to riot, marshmallow soup returned." - Rachel Pinn

"After almost four years of operating in Houston, Dallas-based souffle spot Rise No. 2 has called it quits. Absolutely a wonderful experience! I was surprised with a birthday lunch here by a couple of friends. The atmosphere was exquisite and the staff was friendly. Everywhere you looked there was something beautiful or cute to see. The restaurant even set up a little birthday decoration for me, it was so cute and made the visit even more special! I never had soufflé before so this was a complete first for me. I had the off menu Avocado and cheese soufflé, one friend had the marshmallow soup, and my other friend had the salmon rise salad. My soufflé was absolutely delicious!! My friends also loved their meals. I can't wait to go back and try the salad as my friend could not stop talking about the vinaigrette. For my birthday dessert we had the key lime pie soufflé and that was total chefs kiss!! Also I loved the gift shop! My friend gifted me a tea towel as a souvenir and birthday gift!!

Google
Loved this restaurant! My MIL found this online when visiting from out of state. The atmosphere was relaxing. Definitely felt like a European experience with the decor. Staff and servers were polite and attentive. Food was divine! I got the cauliflower parmesean souffle. Wow!! It was tasty and guilt free! Definitely recommend that and the Marshmallow Soup if you like goat cheese. This soup was delicious! For dessert we ordered the chocolate souffle and bread pudding souffle. Wow! Can't go wrong with either. Definitely a unique flavor for a souffle dish.

We had a wonderful lunch at Rise. Samantha was friendly and provided excellent services. For starters, I enjoyed the Marshmallow Soup. We ordered Crawfish soufflé, Escargot soufflé, and Parisian Jambon Sandwich. We definitely like the Crawfish soufflé the best. It is a lot more flavorful than Escargot. For the sweet soufflé, we ordered strawberry and pistachio. We shared both and fought over the strawberry soufflé. Pistachio was good, but strawberry was sweeter and a little tart. Love the place, and we will for be back!

This is the second time I’ve been to rise in the last 12 months. Seems like a must visit during every trip to Dallas. I love the concept of savoury soufflés, and they don’t fail to deliver. Not a fan of any of the crab and fish soufflés, the mushroom one is the best and the bread and butter pudding soufflé is the winner in dessert. For coffee drinkers, the French press is worth ordering and for salad lovers the tuna salad is excellent.

Google
My boyfriend took me to Rise Soufflé for a sweet brunch and to share one of his favorite spots for French cuisine. It was such an intimate experience, and I truly appreciated it. From the moment we arrived, the atmosphere was warm and beautiful, creating the perfect setting for a memorable meal. Our waitress was incredibly kind and took the time to explain the menu, which made the whole experience even more enjoyable. We ordered the Marshmallow Soup, Crawfish and Truffle Infused Mushroom Soufflé, and Bread Pudding. Every bite I took was absolutely delicious, and I savored each one! As we left, we were given inspirational quotes, which was such a thoughtful and adorable touch that truly brightened my day. Overall, it was a wonderful dining experience, and I can't wait to return!

Google
Rise never disappoints, the Plano location included. The menu is not changed from the Dallas location and the execution of the soufflés is on the same level, consistently. The decor captures the same sense of intimacy, heavily layered with francophilia; but does so with considerably more floor space. The staff is attentive, professional, and capable.

Google
Wow! This place is so charming! This was my first time having a soufflé. We ordered the rise Salad, Jamon and guyere, truffle mushroom, and sun dried tomatoe. For dessert we tried the strawberry, chocolate, pecan, and apple tart. The steak was also great. I will definitely be back. Conner (I think that was his name) was an amazing server.

I really like the environment of this restaurant, but the food and the service were short of my expectations. I was a part of a group of eight people. Everybody ordered third drinks and what they wanted to order. However, before even the drinks came out, everybody’s first course was already served and it took a while for the first course to come out. I had the artichoke Andree And it was cold. It would’ve tasted much better if the dish was hot or at least warm. Then I had the escargot soufflé and it wasn’t as flavorful as I thought it was going to be. Essentially the soufflé that top to the escargot didn’t add very much flavor to the escargot itself. It was pretty bland. Some of the people sitting at the table actually didn’t even receive their entrée at the same time everyone else did. They were waiting pretty long. As everybody finished their entrées, we were waiting for dessert, which took about 30 minutes to come out. I was expecting better service at such a restaurant like this.

Yelp
Mmm, marshmallows soup. Delicious and it was very filling. I also ordered the rise salad with chicken. It was good. Glad that I only ordered the starter salad with chicken and not the dinner portion because the soup really filled me. Love their bread. Came with a couple of friends, and we shared one dessert souffle, the one with Grand Marnier. It was Yumminess. Service was good. The ambiance was okay. But it did not have the romantic feels of on the one in Dallas.

Yelp
We had some errands to run in the area and decided to give this a shot since it always seems busy. Luckily they were able to sit us at the bar. We were very grateful to be sat immediately but FYI the chairs at the bar were not very comfortable at all. The room is very dim. A few lamps here and there. They're capturing a Parisian vibe but I get more New Orleans - that's just me. The bartender was very nice and helpful and handed us our menus and gave us his recommendations. He also mentioned that there was an off menu special of a key lime soufflé (I could've sworn he said key lime-blueberry, but more on that later) but it needed to be ordered right away to be done in time for dessert. My SO loves key lime - so we said heck yeah. My SO ordered their Parisian sandwich. It was served on the same bread as the complementary bread (which wasn't bad) with ham and Gruyère. Served with chips and a side salad. He said the sandwich was "okay" but the cheese was ice cold while the sandwich was warm. He said it just tasted very off. He didn't eat it all. My ham and Gruyère soufflé was good but very very salty. I could only eat maybe half of it before I had to stop. The texture was nice though, and they did not skimp on the cheese and ham, which is nice. However, the dessert soufflé we had to pre-order took FOREVER for it to arrive. We asked about it a couple of times because we needed to leave. The manager came over and assured us it would be out to us in 2 minutes and luckily it was. The soufflé looked nice. Had a side dish of butter with raw sugar on it that we were confused about. However, this dessert, whether it was supposed to be key lime or key lime with blueberries, had ZERO flavor whatsoever. I could see a few specs of lime zest. But I'm telling you there was zero flavor whatsoever to it. After our initial first bites, we just let it go. Not worth the calories. I went ahead and asked for the check and was pleasantly surprised to see that they took the dessert soufflé off the check without us even asking for it. I thought that was very nice of them to do. Of course we still tipped the bartender accordingly because his service with us was great and he was very attentive the entire time. Perhaps it was an off day? Not sure. But it was disappointing.

Yelp
Dinner was extraordinary....very different in a special way. We had a wonderful experience! Such a great concept having savory & sweet soufflés. Although there are more options in the menu. The bread & butter is delish and all the soufflés we ordered were very much enjoyed. The cheese platter was amazing. The restaurant is a bit dark inside but cozy. It's decorated nicely with French tea towels all around the restaurant. Service was excellent, staff was friendly & attentive. We enjoyed every bit of everything. We will definitely be back.

Yelp
I'm so happy that they finally opened up the rise soufflé restaurant in Plano! It's perfect for a fancier but not too expensive meal. Great for special occasions like birthdays too. Here are the savory soufflés that I've tried in order of favorite to least favorite: Chicken Crab (seasonal) Ham and cheese Sun dried Mushroom Smoked salmon The service and ambiance are great! We also tried the marshmallow tomato basil soup and artichoke from the appetizer. The artichoke is quite unique. Would not recommend unless you know what you're getting yourself into.

Yelp
First time here and we overall enjoyed the experience. For starters, the service is great and our waitress was super friendly and patient. They give fresh, warm bread with butter to start which was pretty good and also pretty cute aesthetically with the bread board. We ordered the marshmallow soup (tomato basil soup essentially), ham and cheese soufflé, spicy Italian sausage soufflé, and the grand marnier souffle for dessert. The marshmallow soup was pretty good, I really liked the flavor of the soup and the small goat cheese souffle on top was also pretty good! For the ham and gruyere souffle, it was packed with flavor but also a tinge salty for my taste. While good, it did just taste like ham and cheese, the gruyere flavor wasn't super prominent. The souffle itself was light and airy however. The Italian sausage souffle deflated super fast, and there wasn't much on the inside compared to the other souffle. We thought maybe they made a mistake in making it, but it wasn't a big deal. This one was alright, it had some sausage flavor but I definitely liked the ham and gruyere one more. The grand marnier was the sweet souffle and it was AMAZING! It has this light orange flavor with a bit of bitterness from the alcohol, but the cream you can pour on top is sweet and balances everything out. I really loved this souffle, it was the best one of the night. Honestly I feel like soufflés are similar to crepes in that if you don't like savory crepes but like sweet crepes, you may not like the savory souffles but will enjoy the sweet soufflés. This was the case for me at least. The interior is super nice and unique, great for dates or for fancier dinners. I would definitely return for their sweet souffles, their savory soufflés were alright but not too special, especially for the price. The marshmallow soup was probably the second best thing I enjoyed there. Great experience with great service in a nice setting however!

Yelp
Happy to see another Rise location open up, as this was such a lovely experience! The decor, seating, lighting, and all relevant details created a comfortable and intimate environment fitting for the menu items. We tried the Marshmallow soup, which confirmed what we'd been hearing about this dish being a "must-try". The acidity and texture of the cheese was the highlight of the entire meal for me. We moved onto trying both savory and sweet soufflés, taking some recommendations from the staff. Everything was warm, fresh, and honestly just fun to eat!

Yelp
Went in early on a Friday. Rise is certainly a different kind of restaurant and environment. Very moody and atmospheric. The tableware is so cute and fun, this is an easy date night location. The service was alright, I wish our waiter had explained more about how to eat the dishes instead of just dropping off the plates. We had never had an artichoke server the way they had it so we made the mistake of eating from the outside in, instead of inside out... even now I don't know if we did it right because there wasn't a lot of meat on the artichoke leaves. We also didn't realize that Soufflés are eaten with spoons so when our forks got taken we were confused at first and then just assumed we were meant to use our spoons. We had questions about the specifics of certain dishes that we enjoyed but our waiter didn't seem very knowledgeable in the specifics. The table bread is served in such a cute manner! And the table bread is delicious!! Artichoke Andrée- 3/5 was good but wouldn't order again, we were just really hungry. It has a delicious lemon buttery middle that we ended up dipping our bread in because there wasn't a lot of meat on the leaves. Truffle Infused Mushroom Soufflé- 4/5 got more flavorful the more you ate it. Very earthy flavor that was interesting w the texture. Sun-dried Tomato & Pesto Chèvre Soufflé- 4/5 I'm not a huge pesto fan but the person who ordered the one very mush enjoyed it. The Crab Soufflé (featured item of the night)- 5/5 literally so delicious. The outside was just crusted so perfectly. DESSERT!!! Bread Pudding Soufflé- 1/5 very disappointing. Was the only dish of the night that tasted eggy and as you can see pictured, deflated immediately, leaving maybe 3 bites of the dessert. The rum sauce pour over was very good and would have that as a shot. Chocolate Soufflé- 5/5 It was like a warm chocolate mousse. Delicious and a bit addicting. Apricot Soufflé- 6/5 LITERALLY SO DELICIOUS AND AMAZING!! I couldn't say for sure what the pour over sauce was but my goodness it was so good. If you're an apricot fan, this is unmissable. We didn't try any of the wine. Overall this place is fun for a date night, especially if you're looking for something new and tasty. I would recommend coming here for even just dessert! The service isn't the best even though there are a lot of people on the floor. If you're seated close to the kitchen (which is very open) you may overhear a lot of conversations between the staff which can be a little awkward.

Yelp
We love this quaint little lunch spot. I do feel like it's pretty expensive so we only make this a special occasion restaurant. It's always a tough choice between the starter salad and marshmallow soup for me but I think that salad may be the most crave-able salad ever! The top savory soufflés for our family are the ham and cheese and the spicy chicken sausage souffle! Both are very flavorful. I love the pistachio souffle at the Dallas location but feel like I prefer the Grand Marnier here for sweet souffle choice. Bon appetit!

Yelp
Tip: Try to order everything at once including dessert. That way everything comes out seamlessly. This place was so hard to get a reservation because there was never availability. After eating here, I understand why. You HAVE to get the "marshmallow" soup. It's a beautiful tomato and carrot bisque with fluffy Goat cheese soufflés. Even when I split this soup, the portions are extremely generous. Everything about this place is magnificent. The interior is beautiful for an intimate atmosphere and the soufflés are incredible. If it's not too late, order the seasonal crab soufflé. The soufflés came out hot, fluffy and bursting full of incredible flavor. A friend joked and said this is where Disney should go to grab inspiration for culinary cuisine. Our waitress was wonderful and gave us fantastic recommendations including the special dessert in honor of the Solar Eclipse. I'll be a frequent patron at this lovely restaurant.

Yelp
I took my wife to Rise Soufflé tonight for her birthday. It was nice and special. We were greeted with a friendly smile and greeting. Carlos , a Manager greeted us and provided us both with a glass of wine on the house. We were promptly seated and our waiter assisted us with suggestions on the menu. Very kind young man. The ambiance reminded us of a recent trip we took. The food was a wonderful change of pace for us. We both really enjoyed the well prepared food. It was a delight from beginning to end. It was a very good place to take my wife to enjoy her special day. Everyone wished her Happy Birthday. No group singing, just classy one at a time wishing her a special day.
google avatar

Nicki S.

Yelp
We had a reservation so we're able to get seated quickly. The interior decor is super cute, especially with the little trees and the hornets nests and all that stuff. Service was great. The food was really good. Didn't know what to really expect. It doesn't look like a lot when it arrives , but it will definitely fill you up. Had the herb and spicy sausage soufflé. I don't know if I would really consider it spicy but it was super delicious. It almost tasted like a breakfast soufflé. The sweet soufflés were really good. The best has got to be the chocolate or the raspberry, but the apricot was also a good mixture of tart and sweet. Overall, it is nice to have something new in the area. It can be expensive if you have multiple people, but you will not leave hungry so worth ir!
google avatar

Michelle B.

Yelp
What an adorable addition to the area! My friend and I came for a weekday dinner. We were seated immediately without a reservation, albeit outside (the interior was super cute and parsienne chic). After placing our order, we were served warm bread with a "guillotine" type knife to cut it - very nice touch. I had the marshmallow soup which was phenomenal. We also shared the rise salad which I didn't think would be my type of salad but I absolutely devoured it. We also shared their crab soufflé. Turns out, I don't love the texture of souflee. We also had their raspberry soufflé, which was better. I'll be back for soup and salad for sure.
google avatar

Victoria N.

Yelp
Love love love. Took a friend to dinner for her birthday tonight. Delicious!! The space reminds me of a bigger version of the Lovers location. Great wine list. Had the crab meat soufflé. Started with the warmest bread with good butter. More places need to invest in good bread and butter. Waitress was very sweet and was diligent in checking in on us. This will be a regular spot.
google avatar

Leslie R.

Yelp
First time trying soufflé and I have to say it was a little underwhelming. The crab soufflé was definitely more eggy than I thought it would be, I expected more flavor to it. The chocolate soufflé was the best one out of the 7 that the entire table ordered. Would recommend this place for a good dessert as it's not filling. Staff was super sweet and helpful.
google avatar

Liza K.

Yelp
As expected. Rise did not disappoint. I had the Rise salad (sub goat cheese for blue cheese and no apples) with chicken and my friend, who is a chef, got the Nicoise Ahi Salad. Both great. We ordered a chocolate soufflé to share and it to was wonderful.
google avatar

Yelp
So so happy Rise No 6 had landed in Plano!!! We had a reservation but decided to sit at the bar. Haley was the bar manager and recently moved from the Rise in the Woodlands. We started with the artichoke and shared the off the menu crab soufflé and finished with the Grand Marnier soufflé. DELICIOUS!!! Wow everything was served hot and fresh and right on time. The atmosphere here is so beautiful it is like you are in another world. I am ready to return here ... and book a trip to France!!!!
google avatar

Yelp
Happy to see Rise offered in Plano. Still some growing pains expected as they figure out new building and setup. Mgrs willing to listen to long list of suggestions. Highly recommend this place get a double door entry or it will be super hot in summertime. Food wise recommend salad. The raspberry soufflé was good. Bonus they use yelp for reservations.
google avatar

Andrea K.

Yelp
LOVE. We sat at the bar and it was delicious. The bar service was not the most friendly but the food made up for it.
google avatar

Pam G.

Yelp
I wanted to try the Plano Rise location after years of going to the Rise in Dallas. Though it's a slightly different vibe, the food was pretty, fresh, and tasty. The soufflés are especially delightful. In terms of service, I must comment that Mirlinda was amazing. She treated me to the most welcoming, gracious, friendly, and wonderful experience. The only drawback with this location is how crazy-dark the ambiance was. Though it was midday, you might've thought it was a bar rather than a French lunchroom. I would've loved for them to add some LIGHT to match the lightness of their amazing soufflés and the lightheartedness of the friendly waitstaff.
google avatar

Makenzi W.

Yelp
I came here with one of my best friends for dinner and really enjoyed our meal. We were 10 min late to our reservation and they had already given our table away, but were able to find us a table elsewhere. The food was delicious, our waitress was attentive and the new location was a great extension to the others.
google avatar

Beryl D.

Yelp
I did not realize how popular this place was. I recommend making a reservation if you patronize this business. I came with my mom right when they opened with no reservation, which I can tell through the host stand off. Nonetheless, they accommodated us by seating us on the patio. The patio was freezing, so we asked to move, and they seated us inside. I ordered the bubbles flight, which I felt was a rip off. You're better off just ordering a glass. I ordered the crab soufflé for myself, the jambon and gruyere soufflé for my mom and the pecan praline soufflé for us to share. I preferred the jambon and gruyere souffle. It had more flavor, and I preferred its texture over the crab soufflé. I don't think I'll ever order the crab one again. My mom enjoyed the pecan praline soufflé. I did not, however. It tasted like sugary scrambled eggs. I will try something other than the soufflés next time I come. Our server was great. Her nails were cute. I think rise should lift their neutral nails restriction. As far as ambience, it started out light, but quickly became packed and noisy. I recommend for a girls lunch.
google avatar

Phoebe Z.

Yelp
Everything is just perfect! We shared a rise salad which was incredible. The dressing is very mild yet harmoniously balanced. Our southwest chicken and crabmeat savory soufflés were divine. And we ended our meal with a praline pecan soufflé. The bread was the best bread i have ever out in my mouth. It is piping hot, and the flavor is nutty yet can't out my finger in. It was sooo good that we had two breads.

Tiffany D.

Yelp
Food was fantastic. Ambiance was welcoming and so comfortable. Great place to celebrate with a group, go on a date or enjoy solo! We will definitely be back and are so excited to have a location closer to Frisco!

Kelly P.

Yelp
Great ambiance, great location and cleverly decorated. However, nothing special about the savory or sweet soufflés we had. Rather boring really. Bread was good but the butter was absolutely tasteless. How can butter not taste like butter?? The French Onion soup was good. Had to repeatedly ask my server for water refills. Overall, a waste of money. Will not be back.
google avatar

Cindy S.

Yelp
My favorites are the tomato soup, ham and cheese soufflé and the spinach soufflé. And of course the chocolate for dessert
google avatar

Lana P.

Yelp
Delicious as always. I had Cauliflower and Bri Soufflé and hubby had Jambon and Gruyère (cheese and ham essentially). Everything was delicious. Ambiance was on point of their brand. Service was excellent as we set at the bar and I would like to give big kiddos to Connor! Great service, if you can get Connor as you server you shall be delighted:-)

Albert B.

Yelp
Enjoyed the soufflé but even more the excellent service The one in Plano in particular!
google avatar

Hunter D.

Yelp
The ambiance is not nearly as good as the lovers and Inwood location but the food is just as good and the service is decent. It is worth going just for the desserts.
google avatar

Don N.

Yelp
We were very familiar with the Dallas Rise. Everything here was just as delicious. The restaurant seemed darker but the service was very good.

Pat N.

Yelp
French Onion soup is excellent. The chocolate soufflé was good but the cream sauce was just plain. Need to serve with whipped cream or a vanilla bean sauce.
google avatar

Jamie S.

Yelp
So happy Rise is now nearby! One of my favorite Dallas restaurants. Perfect for any celebration.

Yelp
An Incredible Dining Experiencie! I recently had the pleasure of dining at the Plano location of the Rise with my family. I must say, it was an absolute delight from start to finish. From the moment I stepped in, I was captivated by the chic ambiance that enveloped the restaurant. The service was impeccable throughout, with friendly and attentive staff ensuring that every detail was perfect. The food, oh my the food! I was only able to attach 2 photos, even though we ate many dishes because we devoured everything in one second! Each dish was a symphony of favors. I started with the French onion soup (the best of my entire life), tasted a bit of the marshmallow soup (my husband's order) that I believe everyone should try it! It's absolutely perfect. The cheese platter was our table's order as an appetizer, it was amazing! The selection of cheeses was impeccable (definitely a must!!!!). I ordered the Mac n cheese soufflé, which was one of the best soufflés I've ever eaten, with a light texture and indulgent cheese flavor. If you like cheese, you will love this soufflé! To finish, the creme brûlée was the perfect crown jewel to an extraordinary meal. Its smooth, creamy texture, combined with the crispy caramel on top was sublime. The new rise location offers a truly marvelous culinary experience. From the ambiance to the service and the exceptional food, this place deserves every one of its five starts. We can't wait to come back!

Yelp
I was a bit concerned that this location wouldn't meet expectations after some of the reviews. We've dined at the Dallas location over the years. We enjoyed a flight of red wines, the steamed artichoke with butter sauce, bread, 2 savory soufflés, and 2 sweet ones. My spinach soufflé was good and the cauliflower brie tasted ok, but the cheese sauce was oily (separated). Our dessert soufflés were delicious (Grand Marnier and Chocolate). Ambiance was where I felt things were more amiss. The seating on the north side by the windows is uncomfortably bright if you're the one seated facing Preston road as the sun is beginning to set. The sun shines directly into the eyes and reflects off the cars parked outside these windows. Fortunately this was as dessert was being served, so I moved my chair to the side of the table (probably in the way a bit for servers). There was plenty of seating for two inside the cooler, cozier part of the restaurant, so I'm puzzled why we were out there. I'll know to request different seating next time, but the decorative partial curtain really does nothing to help with the sun. We'll give them another try as we did enjoy our food.

Yelp
Another successful location for this popular soufflé restaurant has just opened--in Plano, just days ago! We've visited every location of Rise. They are all very similar in appearance and all staffed by very capable, pleasant, and professional folks...and now it's obvious why. On this, the location's first Sunday, Brian B. from the main office was present to make sure things were going well, and we got to visit for a short while. He is clearly dedicated to making Rise succeed. Merlin, our server, was so sweet and conscientious; her contribution to our meal was sizable. There's nothing about this visit I would change. All four of the soufflés we had were perfectly baked (crab & Boursin, southwest chicken, gran Marnier, and apricot)--something that takes a lot of effort. Another trip to Rise will happen soon.
google avatar

Scott B.

Yelp
Very European approach to dining and ambience. Service was attentive and professional. Soufflé was very warm and tasty. Unique experience!!
google avatar

Hooshang G.

Yelp
Been to the dallas location with my wife a few times. More cozier and the food is worth the price. Tried plano location and was disappointed. For what they charge, I expected to get more. The decor was also off as the layout of the restaurant was just weird. Don't get me wrong, love Rise, but will stick with Dallas location as this one was a little disappointing. Perhaps because they opened a couple of months ago?

Debbie H.

Yelp
We ordered appetizers-artichokes and the sauce was cold...butter wasn't melted. Then we ordered chocolate soufflé and the middle wasn't cooked. Our server actually said it comes out like that sometimes! I love the Dallas restaurant but Plano needs more work.

Yelp
I attended the preview for rise Plano the evening before it opened. I can make a souffle. But why? when rise can too... and expertly. what is better than one suffle? Two, of course. rise offers savory and sweet options! Yay. I started with the Marshmallow soup. With no expectations, I found a lovely creamy tomato soup with slightly savory little pillows of heaven. This is not to be missed. The cheese platter was lovely. great to share. little toasts with four varying cheeses, a few cornichons, roasted red bell pepper strips, olives, figs, jam and sugared almonds. we had the wine flight. pleasant if someone just wants a taste of 4 wines as opposed to a full glass. i had the crabmeat souffle. i love crabcakes so this reminded me of a creamier, lighter and more luxurious alternative. And it was beautiful! I chose my favorite dessert. Grand Marnier. I loved it. But OMG the Grand zMarnier Creme Anglaise that was served with it was so delicious I had a few spoonfuls by itself at the end rather than leave a drop behind. Our server Philip was delightful and it was obvious he wanted to make our experiance second to none. We were seated in a little charming alcove room. it was fun but we found our small table for two was difficult for fitting all of our various choices. If you are the same better to come at a slower time and request a four top for two. Management came around and chatted. They have high standards. I expect them to do well. rise might seem to some to be a "special occasion" restaurant. But why not make anytime special? Ask about the "doors"? Speak a little French and leave SMILING.

Yelp
Great service but less than amazing food. The soufflés lacked flavor. We had the Southwest and the sausage soufflés. They weren't great or as flavorful as the one's at the Dallas location. Loved the ambience of this location better, but the food was a minus. The best items were the cheese platter and the tomato soup, they were fantastic!

Yelp
We LOVE the Lovers location and the new one in Plano did not disappoint! The manager Maria was so sweet and remembered that we'd mentioned Lovers when we came in when she came to check on us during dinner. Attentive staff, delicious food and wine!

Yelp
Service was good. Iced tea was very good. But frankly...I don't get the hype. It tasted like under seasoned hospital food! The shape and consistency of the soufflé were very good. It reminded me of a soufflé I had had on a cruise. My companion and I had different choices. I chose the Macaroni and cheese soufflé for my main course. It had faux noodles and a runny "Velveeta Cheese sauce" on top. Her southwest chicken soufflé was better than my choice. We each had a raspberry soufflé that came with a very bland sauce. Why is it all so bland? And moreover, why did I pay $65 for it? We even skipped a few courses...

Yelp
The wait is over. We finally have Rise Souffle in Plano. The first thing you notice walking up is the iconic wooden doors while being distinctively unique at each location. We were warmly greeted and seated amid sparkling lights, hand painted plates, and country French tea towels as napkins in a beautiful but unpretentious setting. Our server greeted us with a pleasant "bonjour"! I started off with the artisan cheese plate and a suggested pairing of the bubbly wine flight that complemented the brie, blue, other cheeses and accoutrements perfectly. It's a great way to start a meal. The whimsical marshmallow soup is a first-time must try. The joy in dining at Rise is the opportunity to order items you just don't find anywhere else. Which leads me to the sky-high souffles. After seeing these culinary masterpieces pass your table time and again, you can't wait for your turn. After all, this is what they are known for! We were so anxious in fact, that we failed to take a snapshot of our own at how impressive they look. I chose the Jabon and Gruyere Souffle but was able to get a taste of the Crab Souffle. I imagine that you can't go wrong with any of them, as they were both wonderful and completely different. I know we should have ordered one of the non souffle choices like the Salade Nicoise or Apple Tarte for either our main course or for dessert as we found ourselves repeating with yet another souffle for dessert, but when in Paris... I have always ordered the Gran Marnier Souffle. There are so many wonderful options, but its always going to be my favorite. We enjoyed sipping on our French Press coffees as well. It was the ideal way to end our meal. But a wonderful surprise was still left for us. When you leave, you are provided with an inspirational quote! So our spirits were risen as well.

Yelp
Have always loved Rise #2 in Dallas. Waited for Rise #6 in Plano for a year. We went first day of normal operations after opening. Excellent service and souffles! As always!

Yelp
From a fellow pastry chef to the public: We have been going to the Dallas location for years and we were excited for the Plano location since its 5 min away from us. But it was horrible: 1.everything is miniature yet pricey compared to the Dallas location...even if you eat bread, an appetizer, entrees, and dessert you will leave wanting a burger. And i mean small...the soufflés are small compared to the Dallas location, the bread is small, the cups of soups are served halfway empty. 2.half of our soufflés were flat!! And not well made lacking flavor!! 3.coffee is cold 4.other meals are also cold 5.serving staff is not competent We will not be returning. This restaurant was my favorite, just trust me instead go to the Dallas location and don't waste your time at the Plano location!!! What a disappointment!!!

Yelp
We've been excited for this incredibly convenient location to open and were lucky enough to get a Sunday lunch reservation on a whim. It's incredibly dark. Like watching an episode of Game of Throne dark. After your eyes finally adjust, it has a lot of the feel of the Lovers & Inwood location but a bit more open. And not a hint of TGIFridays. My only criticism is on the pacing of service. It was so slow, there was no pace. Every aspect was off - kitchen and service. My husband joked it made dining in Paris seem hurried. We didn't have anything planned for the afternoon, so we didn't mind. And it's likely just growing pains. Everything else was outstanding. I'd forgotten how exquisite the marshmallow soup is. I didn't finish it all because I intended to make it all the way to a sweet soufflé. And there was that bread and butter. I limited myself to two pieces with enough butter for four. When our soufflés arrived, my husband looked at each other stunned. Mine (sundried tomato and pesto chevre) didn't even rise to the rim of the ramekin. I was surprised it left the line looking so sad. Husband's (Southwest chicken) looked (and tasted) incredible. I joked it looked like he made his and me mine. Our server noticed as soon as she saw it, immediately got a manager to our table, and I was promised a new one in 17 minutes. No big deal. I was left with the sad one to pick at, but it was so sad, I didn't try much. There was still bread, but I was starting to regret relinquishing the rest of my soup. 17-ish minutes later, the manager shows back up with the news that the second attempt wouldn't rise to the occasion (his words, not mine) either. He's very apologetic and offers a small salad or cheese plate. I declined and am surprised my husband didn't kick me under the table. I was told the chef was personally making a go at the third version. Eventually, he won. It and the praline pecan soufflé that followed were perfect. We left a couple of hours later with ideas to try at home. We weren't mad about it. My best attempts will look equally as sad. No doubt they'll earn a fifth star on a return visit.

Yelp
A great first visit to this location. Beautiful interior and wonderful service. Caelan was one of the best servers we have had in a long time. Friendly, knowledgeable, and always nearby to take care of whatever needed taking care of without ever asking. Oh, and the souffles was really good too. In a sea of me-too restaurants, we have nothing like this in Plano. Lucky us!
