"Some people go camping near a babbling brook with their parents. And some people skip that nonsense and just take their parents to a restaurant that has a giant picture of a babbling brook on the wall. Enter RockCreek, a slightly upscale seafood experience in a space that’s reminiscent of that glamping cabin your mom booked one time (then cancelled). Do some oyster shooters, or grab some small plates (we love the shrimp and grits with brown butter and serrano ham), and then you really can’t go wrong with any of the entrees. "Unless you’re camping in the wilderness harpooning your dinner with a whittled stick, it’s unlikely you’ll have fresh seafood next to a babbling brook. Rockcreek is as close as you get to that experience, and you don’t even have to deal with rafting on river rapids. The seafood is excellent (particularly the shrimp and grits and roasted seabass), and it feels like the kind of forest cabin your elitist in-laws would rent and consider “roughing it” just because there are exposed beams. "So, the big camping trip got canceled because it was a scam. Turns out “Rainbow Rolling River Ridge” isn’t a real place. While cooking some freshly caught bass over an open flame and listening to a lapping stream is now out of the question, Rock Creek is a solid substitute. The seafood menu has basics like shrimp and grits, as well as a whole branzino, or a cauliflower and celery salad that is exponentially less boring than it sounds.
