Rolina Traditional Hainanese Curry Puffs

Writing this review as I'm having my last bite of curry puff from this stall. I wanted to try the sardine curry puff, but it was already sold out (at 1pm on a Monday). I ended up getting the potato chicken & egg one instead. The puff pastry was very light and airy, and while it tasted buttery, it didn’t feel satisfying. It was a bit too “hollow” and flaky without that richer, more substantial bite you’d expect from a good curry puff. At $2 a piece, it felt a little pricey for what it was. Overall, I’d rate the chicken curry puff a 6/10; not bad, but not something I’d go out of my way for. Stall owners were really friendly though! Giving this spot 5 stars for their service :)

Have been wanting to try this curry puff for a while after hearing so much about it. As a curry-puff lover who has tried many popular ones, this chicken potato puff is now at the top of my list. The pastry is buttery and thin, the filling is generous and flavourful, and the proportions are just right. Hope the quality stays and the legacy lives on—kudos to the young hawkers! Also tried the pineapple tart, and it’s lovely too.

Pineapple tart:- Quality speaks without trying. 6 bottles turned into 9 on the spot. Not gifted—enjoyed fully at home by my kids. One week later, another 10 bottles ordered. 真材实料. A purchase I’d repeat without hesitation!

Logan and Jolen are incredibly friendly and accommodating, making the experience even more enjoyable. Rolene is definitely a place to try traditional Hainanese curry puffs — truly Michelin-grade standards. Highly recommended

I was there on Saturday morning wanting to just get 2 curry puffs. Chatted with the couple who own the stall now. Their story of giving up their careers to keep this traditional curry puffs biz for the lady’s dad going touched me. We could have this familiar tasks because of them. Best pineapple tarts! We've been ordering our tarts from Rolina every lunar new year for the past 10 years and they never disappoint. This year, we compared Rolina with one of the top-rated small bakeries, and everyone unanimously picked Rolina's as the better one. Perfect balance of buttery crunch in the pastry with generous pineapple that retains some tartness.

I visited the Rolina stall unit #02-15 in Tg Pagar Plaza market n food centre for the first time, a year ago. Now I go there almost every Sunday with my friends. Their food is always delicious. Really appreciate to see the hard work and passion of this young couple. I've tried their curry puffs, glutinous rice, pumpkin and yam cake, sugee cake, and pineapple tarts - everything is amazing! All my friends also enjoyed all the food sold at the stall.
