Best Caviar Restaurants in Austin | Eater Austin

"Caviar and Champagne is a class pairing, and that’s what the Fairmont Austin hotel bar focuses on. Service includes accompaniments like crackers with caviar options such as golden kaluga, golden ostera, and even a vegan iteration, ranging from $30 to $150. The caviar is also used in bites like lobster, wagyus, and baked fingerling potatoes. There are indoor dine-in services." - Nadia Chaudhury

Tucked away behind an unassuming entrance, Room 725 delivers a true speakeasy experience with class and character. From the moment you walk in, the ambiance sets the tone—dim lighting, plush seating, and a soundtrack of live jazz or soulful tunes that completes the elevated yet relaxed vibe. The cocktail program is well-executed, with a range of creative and classic options made with precision and care. Whether you’re a fan of bold, spirit-forward drinks or something more refreshing, the bar staff knows how to deliver. The wine list offers an impressive selection, with plenty of bubbles—champagne and sparkling wines—for those looking to toast in style. Small plates and appetizers are designed to pair with drinks rather than steal the show, but they’re tasty and well-presented. Perfect bites to keep the evening flowing. For a more indulgent experience, Room 725 also offers caviar service and a curated selection of cigars, adding to its upscale lounge feel.

Room 725 is a beautiful spot with a panoramic view of the city. The drinks are delightful and everything we had was a treat 😋 especially the lobster claws and Caviar which had a sauce that was divine and the tuna carpaccio melted in a flavorful bite. I wouldn't order the vegan Caviar again. It reminded me of Boba and didn't have enough saltiness to mimic Caviar making it pretty bland. Also it's a champagne and Caviar bar so don't expect to leave full but you will have a delicious time.

Let me start off by saying there is nothing inherently wrong with this place. The decor was great, the champagne was tasty, and the caviar was good. But the whole experience fell flat. It wasn’t our server’s fault as we were served well. The whole experience just felt hollow and gilded. The room gave off cold vibes and while the live music was great, it made the spot more off putting. We were a little disappointed they only had three types of caviar. To sum it up, this is an instagram experience.

Went for caviar and comedy. Total Speakeasy vibes! Ambiance was everything. The comedians were funny. It was a great time and I look forward to going back.

I'm pretty much of the same mind as the other reviewer who characterized this place as an IG influencer's place. Wait staff asked us 3 different times if we wanted to take a picture of the food on the gold plated service ware. They clearly aren't counting on repeat serious customers. Pretentious without a lot of substance. If you've ever been to the Petrossian in the Belagio, then this place is a tenth of that. Only 3 types of caviar, and the lobster claws were pencil erasers. The fixings for the caviar were on par, and a good selection of champagne however.

With so many great places to go in Austin, don’t waste your time here. Food is subpar and the selection scarce. The ambiance isn’t great. Why waste your money on a 2 star evening?

Yelp
Came to celebrate an anniversary here and was throughly impressed. It is on the 7th floor inside the Austin Fairmont. It has a speak easy vibe. Loved the space and the ambiance. On the night we went they had a wonderful piano player and a 2 man band that was great. You come here for champagne and caviar. And they have a wide selection of cocktails. After you can also be taken to the terrace to enjoy a cigar. The service was top notch. I must say it is a bit on the pricey side. But overall it's an experience that was worth it.

Yelp
We ordered an espresso martini, French 75, and wagyu and lobster with caviar. We went for the monthly comedy night and it was so much fun!! The bartenders are amazing and it was a very quaint and cute part of the Fairmont Hotel. We will definitely return.

Yelp
We made reservations for a Saturday night at 7:30p. When you arrive you are greeted with a cocktail and taken to the lounge. It was not crowded at all, and there is live music. The pros are the ambiance, live music and intimate vibes. The cons are the everything is expensive and if you order a cigar, you have to leave to the terrace to smoke it. The caviar and drinks are good. Overall, service was great and it's a lovely spot for a special occasion.

Yelp
French 75 was delicious-perfect drink if you're not into sweet cocktails. The steak tartar was amazing. I have to say the caviar was yummy as well. Food was perfect for one person. I was pleasantly full. The service was on point-all friendly and helpful with recommendations. Would definitely dine here again at my next stay.

Yelp
Not surprisingly it's a bit pricey, but it's a great place if you want to treat yourself to a fancy night out! People dress up and the vibe is great! Small bites are good and you have to get the caviar (it's a caviar and cocktail lounge)

Yelp
Came here for a very special birthday celebration. If you plan on drinking a lot obviously ride share but if you drive you have 2 options. There is valet but there is also a very small street area of parking right next to the hotel (we were lucky enough to snag a spot!). We met the host up the escalator in the second floor and they gave us a welcome cocktail and put us in the elevator to the 7th floor. We entered behind the gold curtain. The ambiance was and live piano player was divine. Service was impeccable and the drinks were great. I would not recommend ordering food. We had the fingerling potatoes and they were luke warm and lacked flavor. Only other odd thing was that in order to use the restroom you have to leave room 725 and use the one by the pool. Definitely recommend for a special occasion!

Yelp
We celebrated NYE by going extra extra decadent this year. When we first walked in, our hostess greeted us with a little cute drink and proceeded to bring us to our table. We ordered the kaluga cavier, tuna carpaccio, lobster claw, fingerling potatoes and foie gras. For drinks we tried the intro flight and the old fashion. Since it was my first cavier experience, our server Duc recommended that we take a small bump of cavier and press it against our tongue. Just to fully immerse ourselves in the taste of cavier. Even though the kaluga is recommend for first timers. Cavier by itself was too much for me! I really enjoyed it when they were mixed with the accoutrements and blini. The crème fraiche and chives made this bump extra delish! My favorite dish from the night was the tuna carpaccio- it had this wonderful crispy garlic! The lobster was great and the pate tasty. For the champagne- my fiancé loved the tattinger and I liked the pol Roger. Would I come back? Maybe! It's super delicious and elegant but oh my, my wallet took a hit! My fiancé joked that he'd prob never foot the bill again. Room 725 is a nice place to go for a special occasion and definitely an experience for Austin.

Yelp
Have you heard about Room 725 Champagne & Caviar, well you need to make a reservation and go if you like both. It's a newish speakeasy located in the Fairmont Hotel. If you go up the escalator, you check in with the host who will treat you to a cocktail that cleanses your palette. You are then escorted to the elevators up to the floor that 725 is located. You then wait till you're greeted by another host and if you didn't receive your complimentary cocktail quite yet, you will receive one at the red curtain. Once you enter you are taken to the main room which is absolutely takes you back to 1920s art-deco. It's absolutely beautiful and romantic. In the two times that I've been, there has always been a pianist and a beautiful jazz singer which really sets the mood. My husband and I had come from dinner at Garrisons and didn't get to try any of the champaign but we did have extra dirty martini's which were absolutely delicious. The Trout Roe and the Golden Kaluga were absolutely delicious. I must say I have never been a caviar person but not I am since having visited. I am completely spoiled now, lol. They do have a small section of the balcony reserved if you would like to sit out and smoke a cigar which they have for purchase but inside in my opinion is much nicer. The staff is always wonderful and so is the experience. It's for sure a place to take your special someone to celebrate or to go just cause. It's great for couples and for tame groups. I hope you go and experience this wonderful place. It's quite a treat!

Yelp
We had a wonderful evening at Room 725. This was our second time to visit and it was just as lovely as our previous visit. We love the specialized service of being greeted with a welcome drink and being led to your table. The art-deco elegant surroundings with the glass piano and live music add to the whole experience. Our server Victor made sure we were well taken care of throughout the evening. Champagne selection and the caviar accompaniment were excellent. Austin has needed a place like this!

Yelp
Victor and Sophia were wonderful, extremely knowledgeable and offered good conversation and service. We tried lots of champagne and the fingerling potatoes. French 75 and smoked old fashioned are probably the best classic cocktails I've ever had! The inside is decorated beautifully with different colors, textures, and lots of natural light. They had live music as well. Highly recommend.

Yelp
Celebrated Mother's Day early! My sister and I treated our mom to an evening and it was amazing. The ambiance, our waiter Victor, the amazing piano player!!! This special night was everything!!! We tried every dish on the menu except the fingerlings and opted to x2 the lobster... smart choice!! So amazing. Everything was. We just did a bottle of champs to share and then a special Mother's Day toast!

Yelp
I am always trying to find something that is sexy and mature in Austin and we were impressed with the ambiance of Room 725. The plush carpeting, hushed conversations, glass piano with a wonderful singer, and the presentation of our drinks and food made for an unforgettable evening. You rarely see Ruinart Blanc de Blanc as an option, so I knew that the champagne selection would be top notch with offerings of champagne flights, options by the glass, as well as bottle service. We perused the menu prior to our arrival and were well aware that their food options are more on the lighter side, so do not go here with a huge appetite unless it is an appetite for caviar, which was amazing by the way. The caviar we chose was the golden osetra and it was served with blinis and the usual accoutrements of chopped egg yolks and whites, minced red onions and creme fraiche. We also enjoyed the tuna carpaccio as well as the lobster and both dishes were divine. Duke was our waiter and we loved him! He had a great sense of humor. We also appreciated the floor manager for stopping by our table to ensure we were enjoying ourselves.

Yelp
We went to room 725 for date night and it did not disappoint! The ambiance was very vibey - 1920s art-deco. The room itself was nicely decorated, with a pianist at the beginning of our reservation and then a guitar duo towards the end. The pianist was fantastic - playing a medley of bops that any 90s kid would recognize. The tables were set up so that there was a feeling of privacy without everything feeling disjointed. Our server, Victor was absolutely fantastic. Incredibly knowledgeable about all the menu items - the various champagne vintages and the different caviar on offer. The menu is not extensive but you're there for the champagne and caviar and they had a great selection of both. We did flights of champagne in order to try a variety of houses/vintages and it was great. The caviar spread was epic and delicious. We also had the potatoes (ok but not great) and the tuna carpaccio (also good but not the highlight). Overall it was an absolutely fantastic place - if you're expecting fabulous service and upscale pricing then I guarantee you'll have a wonderful time. If you are looking to spend less than $200 for 2, it's not the spot for you - but what you get is worth every penny. We will absolutely go back for another special occasion.

Yelp
A Speak Easy that closes at 11:00 PM on Friday night? The Fairmont in Seattle nailed the concept, Austin not so much. Service is good, beautiful space. Seems like a big hotel trying too hard.

Yelp
Loved the intimate space here with the live music and introduction drink. The osetra caviar was really good especially paired with the blinis and lobster claws. The tuna tartare was just ok.

Yelp
It's an indulgent experience but it feels like the Fairmont got greedy. 2x markups on most items seems unnecessary and while it's a cute spot, it's nothing special. Room 725 is a great concept and is just lacking a little on execution. I would skip this experience as there are other similar places in Austin.
