Beloved Late-Night Deli Katz’s Debuts in the Heights - Eater Houston

"Vietnamese grill Roostar will open a sister restaurant next to its Spring Branch location that will focus exclusively on delivery and catering. The restaurant’s owners launched a funding campaign for Roostar Factory last week and have already met their goal of $150,000. The news comes just a few weeks after Roostar announced it would open a location on Navigation Avenue." - Brittanie Shey

Google
10+/10!! First time stopping by and it was amazing!! The grilled pork was super crunchy and delicious. I also ordered a lychee tea and the balance between both flavors was wonderful. I also received a complimentary sample of chicken and rice which was a little spicy but great!!! I will definitely come back to try more items.

Google
Best banh mi in town! We drive 30 minutes just to eat here. The bread is crispy and soft, grilled pork is delicious, and service is always fast. Order on the app and it’s ready when you get there—super convenient!

Google
One of the best banh mi’s in town! I love ordering the special here, and the bread is always toasted perfectly Only complaints are that the egg rolls I ordered did not come with lettuce (receipt said egg rolls no lettuce even though I didn’t request that modification). ALSO, it can get hot and stuffy in the restaurant especially in the summer. They have fans but no AC throughout the dining area

Google
Great food, fast and friendly service! The kids’ meals are perfect—just the right portions and options for little ones. We had an amazing experience and will definitely be back. Highly recommend!

My new obsession, DAT!! Roostar has delicious ribeye box meals for under $15!!! Super busy for lunch and the kitchen isn't even breaking a sweat 💪💪💪. My tastebuds thank yall sooo much!!! And this coffee drink.... hittin the right spot!!

Google
Courteous and quick counter service. Small number of tables and a counter by the front window for dine-in. Lots of pickup/takeout order business as a line formed while I was eating. The open kitchen gives off heat, as I sat at a table right next to it. The banh mi, wings, spring rolls are all excellent. A good selection of drinks and beer to go with the food.

I usually dine at the Galleria location but decided to check out the Gessner location while I was in the area. The food at this location is pretty much the same taste and quality as the other location. The only difference is that there is less seating at this spot. I ordered the rib eye box plate, which comes with fried or Jasmine rice, with a side of salad and an egg roll. I ordered my plate with a side of fish dipping sauce, but they offer a variety of other sauces. I like Roostar because they are very consistent with the taste and quality of their food, and it's a great spot to visit for a quick and easy lunch option. Staff is friendly, and the restaurant is clean. They can get pretty busy for lunch, but when the food is good, you can't blame them for the crowd.

The most amazing Banh Mi you’ll ever have!!! Many other great options for meat lovers and vegetarians.

Yelp
Probably the best banh mi I've ever had! Definitely one of the top spots and I've been from the west coast to the east coast of the United States and the banh mi here is like nothing else. Food: My family and I got the loaded fries, banh mi, and the alphabet soup (honorable mention btw! Very well seasoned and not bland at all). Loaded fries were great, loved the cilantro and how well sauced the entire dish was. Banh mi was the star of the show. Why? The pate. The pate is GREAT here. Never had other pate like it. Service: Service was okay, nothing super special but the food did come out pretty quickly. Easy to find parking too. Overall, I love this place a lot. When I come back to Texas, I'll definitely be visiting again and taking friends and family.

Yelp
I love this place. Food was excellent. Service was attentive and kind. I really enjoy eating here EXCEPT during meal times. It's too packed. Come early, it's an easier meal that way. Honestly, it's starting to feel like Cheers (the TV show) "where everybody knows your name.... And they are always glad you came...". Sorry for the cheese. I just really enjoy this place. My only gripe/regret is that I didn't order a 2nd sandwich and my little girl wouldn't share her brownie with me. And they don't have Coke Zero Sugar. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ Will I come back? I'm surprised I'm not going back for lunch right now!

Yelp
The sandwiches were pretty good. I would say a solid 6-7 or so. The bread was nice and toasty and fresh. There was enough meat. I wish they did put in more pickled veggies though. We also ordered the creamed corn and salad. We liked the salad and it was nice and refreshing. The creamed corn was a miss for us but I could see how people would like it if they like coconut a lot. It is a bit pricier than my usual places for banh mi but I would come here again.

Yelp
Houston has so many affordable banh mi shops, the one thing they all have in common is the extra toasted baguette that painfully cut up the roof of your mouth at the end of your sandwich. Roostar Vietnamese Grill has perfected the way they prepare their baguette to ensure customer satisfaction. The banh mi is definitely priced higher, but I'd splurge on their sandwiches just to not experience discomfort. I've also catered Roostar Vietnamese Grill for parties, the banh mi is cut in half and individually wrapped for an easy, delicious, and no mess to clean up. This is such a hot item for any occasion, there won't be any leftovers and you're guaranteed to satisfy your audience.

Yelp
A good Bahn Mi at a good price. The flavors were good. The bread was fantastic, which is a must. Very casual, counter service. You can't go wrong here.
google avatar

Patty C.

Yelp
I'm kinda addicted to their food. Love the pate you can add to their banh mi. Love the seasoned tofu, which is a rarity for me, and I love the juicy chicken, which is never ever dry! The owners are active in the community and were donating along with others, free food to those who lost power during hurricane Beryl. Their own stores were without power for over a week. Really enjoy the variety of their menu. There's something for everyone, and the flavors are all there!

Yelp
What can I say I'm a sucker for fabulously fried wings! Popped in for lunch and service was fast and friendly. All the food and drinks options were clear and tasted great. The location is in a well placed spot with decent parking. They seem to have a lot of takeout or delivery orders so you know the food is good to pay those fees. The Bahn mi were crispy with the nice bread if you know what I mean. It's a nice spot for lunch or snacks!
google avatar

Yelp
Fantastic Food! I absolutely love Bahn mi. I'm a real traditional/classic guy. This place is amazing, but it's a little bit of a twist on flavors vs just hitting China Town and getting the old classics at Lees Sandwich shop. I'm definitely not complaining.... I really enjoyed the Vietnamese Cole slaw and the garlic bread. The garlic bread did have a little too much sauce but easy to remove. Both Bahn Mi Sandwiches, "the special and classic" were off the CHAIN!! Amazing flavor and amazing bread!! The French bread can make or break a Bahn mi. Lastly, the staff were incredibly kind and attentive..... bringing customer service and care back!!!!

Yelp
A cute little restaurant. I love Roostar! I use to get their lemongrass tofu banh mi, but my friend recommended the special banh mi.. and man oh man, is it delicious! It comes with so much pate too.. mhmm yum! The sandwiches are a decent size.. and I was full after eating it. We ordered 2 banh mi's (one with an egg) and some eggrolls. I loved the eggrolls actually. Super crisy and flavorful with the dip. Service was quick. Place was clean and everyone was friendly. Parking was decent as well! Definitely check them out!

Yelp
This is one of my go-to places for a quick takeout meal. I've been to multiple locations, and the foods have always been consistent. My recent order was from this location (Gessner), and it was a delivery order to eat at home. I always like ordering the rice boxes with 2 proteins. The boxes come with just 1 with options to add extras (meats, etc.) if you want as well as pickled carrots and other veggies. I ordered the Sous Vide Pork Belly Box with Crispy Tofu (Wholeshebang flavor) and also the Grilled Chicken Box with Chopped Ribeye. I chose fried rice and house fish sauce with the orders. All of the meats were flavorful, and the boxes were packed. They are on the pricier side though compared to other similar Viet food places, but the flavors, portion sizes, and speed definitely make it worth it.
google avatar

Leena C.

Yelp
Fast and furious . It's kind of like a fast food Viet spot. There are a few tables inside and outside. There were a lot of pick up orders as well. Tried: Grilled pork banh mi - it was standard, the meat is a mix of really soft and tender and then some burnt pieces, marinade was ok Chopped ribeye box - this was ok, tons of rice and meat, cha gio was a bit bland even with the sauce I also had the beef alphabet soup and coconut cream corn. The soup was flavorful, slightly salty but very tasty. The coconut cream corn was soooooo very good. Overall, it was a good experience. Will def go back.

Yelp
Roostar is a no-brainer for fast Vietnamese food in the neighborhood. There are several parking spots in the small strip center and a casual atmosphere when you enter the restaurant. They have a decent number of options on their menu, but I tend to gravitate to their chicken rice plate which also includes an eggroll. It is plenty of food and I love the grilled flavor on their chicken thighs, balanced with the freshness of the vegetables, and fat from the fish sauce.
google avatar

Stacy T.

Yelp
Chill, counter-service spot! I've been to the East End location but never this one. My new favorite item is the Bulgogi Fries - so good! The banh mi, of course, is awesome. Reliable chain spot if you're looking for something fast and tasty.
google avatar

Anjali J.

Yelp
Fast service. Excellent food. Great price. Definitely a hidden gem for a solid bahn mi
google avatar

Yelp
Yes yes yes! So the bbq pork sandwich are very nostalgic for me and the place I went in my childhood is no longer open. This place filled the spot with ease. The food was delicious and I can't wait to go try more items. It's a fast food style place, but there's also tables and seating areas if you don't want to take the food to go. The staff was super helpful. I was interested in their curry and the cashier offered me a sample, which is uncommon at a lot of restaurants of similar caliber. This was a win for me

Yelp
Delicious! Satisfying! The Best! Tasty! Flavorful! Yummy! There are so many ways to describe the absolute satisfaction that you get after eating at Roostar. So many delicious things to pick from, you can't go wrong. Hands down, my favorite Banh-Mi Sandwich in all of Houston. With locations all over the city, this is the first and original spot. Its been amazing to see their well deserved growth. When you walk into this location, you will see nice decor, and tons of awards all framed up. In other words, Roostar has the receipts! They've been recognized for their food perfection on multiple occasions, and its evident the minute you take your first bite. My go-to is a Chicken Banh-Mi, I'll usually order it without jalapeños (since I'm a weakling when it comes to spice), but I'll pay extra to add some avocados and pate. Goodness, just the thought of all these ingredients together...makes my mouth water. Their egg rolls are fabulous, so I'll usually get an order, accompanied with lettuce and their amazing sauce. You wrap your cold and crunchy lettuce around a hot and crisp egg roll, and then dip it in the sweet sauce. Chef's kiss! Perfection at every bite. I love the various tea and soda options you have when ordering a fountain drink. On previous occasions, I've ordered some Vietnamese Coffee. However, on my last visit, I decided to spice things up and get a Thai Tea. The bread they use, the service, and quality of food are some of the things that have made Roostar so successful these past years. It is heaven at every bite. You just can't go wrong. I've been a fan for many years now, and while they have expanded to many locations that are much bigger than their OG spot. This one brings memories, I remember when this place used to be called 'Vietnamese Poblano'! Nowadays, this location has expanded a bit to include more seating, merchandise, nice art all around that shows the streets of Vietnam and cool motivational phrases, (not to mention framed awards and newspaper mentions, the receipts of greatness!) Great food thy name is Roostar!

Maricela G.

Yelp
Great food Fast service. Restaurant is a little small but cute. Menu is limited but taste great.
google avatar

Vinh N.

Yelp
I think this is the original Roostar formerly known as Vietnam Poblano. It was surprising to walk in on a Tuesday night and note banh mi shop without any Vietnamese workers. The kitchen is a lot larger than you would expect from a banh mi shop, and I didn't see anything specific on the menu that would require that many people so they must do a lot of volume during the day. Their prices are more expensive than the typical Bellaire or Midtown shop, but their sandwiches are larger and they fill them well. They have two kinds of tofu sandwiches, one that is lemon pepper while the other is garlic butter. You can also get both, and you should get both to get the best tofu banh mi in Houston.

Yelp
It's always a 5 star every time I come here. Guy who rang my kids and I up was really nice too. Not sure what his name is, but he has perfect eyebrows! Thanks for the wonderful service and great food! The 3 of us had 4 meals between us. I loved the Thai chicken soup. That was the first time trying that. Rice and Banh mi is always a hit with us. Curry Beef fries are super good too according to my 11 year old daughter.
google avatar

Lia S.

Yelp
My cousin recommend this place, I didn't know what to expect as I've never had a ban mi but it was a pleasant surprise. The food here is delicious, and quick . The bread was sooo good. . Great for a quick bite .
google avatar

Ericka S.

Yelp
OK, I consider myself to be a banh mi connoisseur of sorts, so I am very picky when it comes to banh mi, but also Vietnamese cuisine in general. I remember when Thien An was part of a Vietnamese supermarket, and also loved the banh mi from Les Givrals. So, each establishment I try these days really has to pass the test - the bar is high. When it comes to Roostar, I think the chopped ribeye banh mi was really good, but it's kind of pricey. Also, more and more places have stopped serving shredded daikon radish but should probably go back to that. I also think the amount of ribeye served was a bit skimpy. Other than that, the flavor was good and I did like the sandwich well enough to return.

Mercedes R.

Yelp
Pretty good! Added the chipotle cream sauce to the chicken and rice bowl. Yum, and satisfying. Come here if you are hungry and you want fresh and tasty food.
google avatar

Eddie H.

Yelp
Amazing food. Service is good. Love the speed of getting in and out. Ban mi's were delicious and fresh.
google avatar

Shams H.

Yelp
Food was bangin. So much flavor, so delicious. Iced matcha tea was a lot more sugar than I'm used to but I kept coming back for more and I got used to the first sip and it was addictive and delicious. Would come back again. Edit: I came back again. The first time I visited, the person taking my order kind of tried to push me to order more than I wanted to and I felt some type of way but this time around, everyone was so incredibly friendly and helpful. The interior is bright, fun, and very clean. I sat in the outdoor seating to enjoy the weather since I all the heat waves have mostly passed and the fresh air is heavenly. All in all a great experience!
google avatar

Yelp
I came to check out a vietnamese restaurant because I didn't know what to eat for lunch and I was starving. When i came in the place was kind of busy with several tables taken, people waiting to order or waiting to pick up a to-go order. I viewed the menu and basically wanted to order everything on the menu. I talked through the menu with the cashier, Dat who gave me details of items on the menu. I decided to order 1 order of egg rolls (2), 1 order of bread with pate and butter, a deluxe special sandwich with pork, and an order of curry fries. Everything was super delicious and I definitely over ordered simply because I was hungry but overall I would definitely come back with friends to get lunch here! The service was also very good. The staff are friendly and food comes out quickly. Definitely good for groups of 2-4 but not more than that becuase the space is fairly small

Yelp
It's been many years since I've visited Roostar on Gessner. Ever since they opened their galleria location I have not stepped foot on this original store. Upon walking in, I noticed that their small shop has grown slightly more spacious and their menu has grown as well. I got my usual grilled pork banh mi, but this time with lettuce wrap instead of bread. I am so pleased that they have this option as I've been limiting carbs for health reasons, and it's literally a banh mi lettuce wrap! So delicious! The lettuce was fresh and crisp, and their pork is the same tender and delicious as I always remembered. Thank you Roostar for offering protein style for those of us who are carb-conscious! My husband got the ribeye banh mi and he savored every bite. I tried and little and the meat was also very very yummy. We also got a side of garlic bread rolls that comes free with check-in on Yelp. The bread is their baguette but doused with garlic butter and toasted. It was good, but nothing super special. We had a great experience here. Food came out fast, and originally they were confused about my order and added lettuce to a regular banh mi instead of wrapping it with lettuce. But when I notified them of this error they quickly fixed it and gave me the right thing. I can't wait to return again!
google avatar

Vannisa T.

Yelp
This location gets busy. We've been to their other locations but moved and found this one recently. The pork banh mi is delicious and full of flavor. They are consistent in their cook which is hard to say about a lot of places. It's a generous portion, but my favorite is their fries. The twisted shape makes for very crispy fries and it is cut like potato wedge thickness. If you love potatoes fry this is the one to try. Their prices are also really reasonable for the area, but of course it is higher than the prices in Chinatown banh mi spots. It can be a bit noisy, but makes for a good lunch spot.
google avatar

Moquita Q.

Yelp
I really like this little restaurant! The staff were super helpful and recommended the beef over rice with egg roll and side salad. The cost for everything was around $11 with a discount. I got their highly favored Vietnamese Coffee which was splendid. It was sweet but still had that traditional bitter coffee taste! And the beef, it was so tender and super flavorful. Bulgigi or however you spell it, flavored! Wow! Incredible. It tasted as good as the picture!!!
google avatar

Lourdes P.

Yelp
Get the garlic butter fries!!!! You won't regret it. It's so good with the jalapeño dip or just by itself! I always get the pork banh mi sans jalapeño. Love the easy order ahead option too!
google avatar

Jennifer D.

Yelp
Follow on IG: @_boujeeeatsss * Chopped Ribeye (full) 7.5/10 * The Special (half combo) 9/10 * Spicy beef yellow curry w/ rice (combo) 9/10 * Thai Tea 9/10 (a little too sweet) * For a Vietnamese Grill not located in Bellaire, I'll have to say that this is a pretty darn good Bánh Mì. The quality and service is definitely there. Expect this to be a little more pricey than your traditional bánh mì, but it's worth it. They aren't shy with the butter and pate, which I LOVE. My only critique is I wish their "Chopped Ribeye" was more like the traditional "Thịt nướng" (was still good though!) They have indoor and outdoor seating, it can get very packed/ busy during times
google avatar

Zara K.

Yelp
My sister has been hyping this place up to me but now I believe the hype. This place is literally so good! We grabbed a couple of banh mis with chopped ribeye and the meat was so tender and delicious! The vegetables were so crispy and the bread was nice and crispy too! Usually bread can get soggy but not here! We got extra garlic aioli which was so delicious! Then we also decided to get the gogi fries which were so amazing. The fries were chunky crispy potatoes. Thinking about this now is making my mouth water. I'll definitely be coming back to this place on my next trip home!
google avatar

Kathy C.

Yelp
First time trying this spot. It was ok, expected it to be ok but was blah. I got the half banh mi with steak and egg rolls. The banh mi wasn't bad, it was my first time having it with steak and it good. It had 1 thin jalapeño sliced as big as my half sandwich, would have like it chopped smaller and more of it. I got the pork belly bowl, very disappointing. Pork belly was blah. I thought that was their specialty but definitely missed the mark on that one. The thai tea was also ok. Too many other great places to check out than to spend your money here.

CK M.

Yelp
The food was fresh & delicious. Service was great, people courteous, friendly, & helpful. I had the chopped ribeye plate, Thai soup, beef curry & coleslaw. Everything was tasty but not too spicy. I highly recommend this restaurant.
google avatar

Kelly N.

Yelp
Edit: I've been to multiple banh mi restaurants since my original visit to Roostar and none hold a candle to it...it's honestly ridiculous. Roostar is more expensive than other restaurants I've seen, but it's completely worth it. I've tried finding a cheaper option with quality that's comparable, and yeah there are decent places that do the trick, but Roostar is far above and beyond anywhere else I've tried. It made me want to subtract a star from those other places just by comparison lol The restaurant feels very clean. I came at around 2pm on a Tuesday so it wasn't very busy. It was mostly people stopping in to grab lunch to-go, like me. I placed my order there and got it in under 5 minutes so it was super quick and easy. They also give you a buzzer thing that goes off when your order is ready, so feel free to keep the earbuds in lol I got THE SPECIAL BANH MI because that's the type I usually go for and it did not disappoint! The bread was toasted nicely to give that crunch when you take a bite. At first, it didn't look like a lot of meat, but when I actually bit into it, the ratios were perfect! They were pretty generous with the pate and garlic aioli, unlike other banh mi places, and it made all the difference! Everything was so flavorful and complimented each other so well! My bf had the CHOPPED RIBEYE BANH MI and thought it was delicious! He said we have to come back for him to try more menu items lol I had a bite and really liked it too, but the special banh mi appeals to me more. You can get a free ROOSTAR GARLIC BREAD when you check in, and they knew they were making fans with this move. It was delicious!! It's the same bread as the banh mi's, but they were generous with the flavor, it did not disappoint! The ease and convenience of grabbing a banh mi here on your lunch break is comparable to the ease of sitting in a drive-thru at some fast food restaurant, but here, you're getting a much tastier, better quality meal. I highly recommend trying it out! I'll probably be back a few more times this week!

Amy M.

Yelp
I come here all the time and usually love their food but recently they've gotten so busy the service has not been as good. I call my orders in and the sandwich was cold and the workers were dismissive of my concern . I don't understand how a fresh sandwich is cold. So dissapointing
google avatar

Riel S.

Yelp
This place is one of the best Vietnamese sandwiches restaurants in Houston! They've started adding some new menu items in the past couple years, but all of them taste absolutely great. They are fast with their food orders and quick. The restaurant's interior is clean and great to eat at! My favorite dishes has to be their curry dish or their curry fries. Their garlic dip for the fries are to die for. A classic with all that of course is there pork or pate Bahn mi!
google avatar

Gema B.

Yelp
This place was great! Glad we made it out last stop Staff was very nice and welcoming. Food tasted fresh and delicious! We ordered a chicken bun me with a fried egg inside so tasty the bread was so soft and the inside but crunchy on the outside they also had all the fixings with grilled chicken overall super good. 5 stars
google avatar

Edgar R.

Yelp
I love the place, everything from scratch as what I can tell. I always get 2 Bhah Mi sandwiches. The Sub has that bold juicy sweet pork flavor with the right amount of spice. The only reason I give them 4 stars is because the place inside smells like when you leave food in the sink and you never clean the disposal that kind of odor as if they don't mop with Fabuloso. But otherwise the food is awesome and will continue coming.

Maris W.

Yelp
Ordered online and picked up at the takeout window in a matter of seconds. The sandwiches that we had were delicious and I tried the fries for the first time. I haven't had this type of fries before. They probably weren't as good as they would be if they were fresh in the store but they were still pretty darn good. Picture is the grilled chicken, we also got the 3x pork sandwich
google avatar

Summer B.

Yelp
The menu is more extensive than the link they provide. The food was delicious and I got a coffee and it was great. Only thing that was a bummer was that they collected my tray and threw away my unfinished coffee. I would come back. Easy parking. Small seating area. Fast food service.

Ân V.

Yelp
Amazing and Reasonable Lunch Combo! I ordered Half Chopped Ribeye Sandwich with Fries. Their meat is juicy and tender. Fries are made differentlly. The taste is unique and memorable to me. Service is on point too. They kept checking us if we are ok! Worth to try.
google avatar

Mai L.

Yelp
Loved this place! My friend suggested it for lunch. I loved the many options and decided on half a banh mi with a side. I got the grilled pork and a side of fried rice. The sandwich was great. The pork had lots of flavor. There is Mayo in it which isn't traditional but I still liked it. There are the pickled veggies in it and loads of cilantro that I removed since I'm one of those people. Fried rice was fresh and light. Very good and perfect portion for lunch.
google avatar

Ryan O.

Yelp
For being a chain restaurant, they do a decent job. There is definitely better bang mi locations in Houston but if you want something consistent, this is a good spot. I had the ribeye bahn mi, garlic bread and the match tea. The matcha tea was extremely strong in the sense that it had an intense matcha flavor almost to the point of not enjoyable. The sandwich was decent yet lacking some extra sauce. The garlic bread which is usually very good, was missing that pizazz this time. Overall I would try again but don't come here if you are expecting authentic
google avatar

Ross M.

Yelp
Been going here for years. Bahn Mi is the best you can get outside of Bellaire. Sides are great too. Service is great, they expanded a while back, but never have had a bad experience. Great to go spot for lunch.
google avatar

Victor H.

Yelp
Excellent food. Fast service. Perfect for quick dine in or to go. I always get the pork plate. Just a creature of habit when I find something I like.
google avatar

Maria E.

Yelp
Solid fast casual Vietnamese food. Not a huge menu but enough to choose from. I had the Chopped Ribeye Banh Mi. Pretty tasty with fresh ingredients. Good flavors/textures. Also tried the Bulgogi Fries -- delicious. I'm not usually a fan of thick cut fries but these were good. Houston has some great authentic Vietnamese food that's not to be missed. However, when you want something fast and affordable, Roostar is a great option.
google avatar

Helen L.

Yelp
Food was pretty good. In my opinion, it's a bit overpriced for a banh mi. $10 for a grilled pork banh mi + pâté If you come, just know it's quite small. Order and pay at the counter. Splurge and add the pâté for $1 extra. The combination with the house made garlic aioli is why you come here. Note: the jalapeño in the sandwich is not spicy; you should add your own sriracha if you want a kick
google avatar

Cam H.

Yelp
This was a nice little find just off I-10. We had their Pork Bahn Mi with a fried egg on top and it did not disappoint. We chased the Bahn Mi with sweet lychee tea which was awesome, but the star of the show was the butter garlic french fries. They put the "Oh!" In OMG.

Yelp
I've been frequenting Roostar for a few years now. I used to visit their Galleria location quite often until my employer moved to the Spring Branch area. Aesthetically speaking, the Galleria location is much more pleasing to the eye - inside and out. Unfortunately, more times than I can count, there are homeless people outside of their Spring Branch location. The SB location also appears to be smaller inside than the Galleria. I always order to go, so I don't get to vouch for their service too much on here. Only once out of the numerous times I've visited was my order delayed, which wasn't a big deal at all. When you pick up at the SB location, there isn't a need to interact with anyone as they have a pickup station where all of the food that is ready is sat out to grab. Nonetheless, more importantly, I am finally writing about their food. I've always ordered their Tofu Bahn Mi and it is DELISH - don't knock tofu until you try theirs flavored with the "whole shebang" as they call it on their website. There were periods of inconsistencies and change of how it was presented several months ago, but it still remains the best I've ever had. They include a jalapeno on the top of the bahn mi that is rather spicy, so if you're sensitive to that, take it off and put it on the side. I recently began ordering slaw salad alongside my bahn mi. There have also been inconsistencies with this as well - sometimes there are WAY too many onions and other times, it's proportioned well. This, too, is also extremely delicious! I could eat this as a meal by itself if I wanted to as it is a nice size for $4.99. Lastly, I love how they have switched to more eco-friendly packaging/containers. I am aware they are much more costly, but in the long run, they are worth it!
