I've been here twice. Once on a Saturday and then most recently on a Friday for the NYE bash. Just like most places in Atlanta, if you want to sit, you must pay. They require a minimum of $60/per person in drinks to reserve a table, and I think there is an additional fee for an actual section, I believe. But I digress.
The first time I visited Whiskey Blue, I had a blast. The people were beautiful and dressed immaculately which just made the ambiance that much better. It does appear to be an older crowd (mid-30s and up), that frequent Whiskey Blue, but that's no problem for me, as I prefer it that way anyways. No hoopla and carrying on!
On my most recent visit, which was this past Friday for their New Years Eve bash, me and a friend arrived to the party pretty early, around 9ish, and it was pretty empty. For the event to be sold out online, we were expecting a large crowd. We figured since it was still early in the night, people would show up later. We were able to snag a free table out on the patio, which was awesome! There wasn't any music playing that we could hear on the patio, so we just talked and did our own thing. Around 11ish it started to get packed. The DJ was a hot mess. Nothing but rap and foul music was being played. Mind you, for the NYE bash it was supposed to be a Black Tie/Cocktail party, so I was expecting more sophisticated music to match the theme. When it was nothing but curse words and rap music playing, I was thrown off.
I did like my drink (I had a ginger ale lol) and the Hors'doeuvre they served, so no complaints there. Overall, I have enjoyed my time at Whiskey Blue, and will definitely come back again.
Oh yeah, and on the weekends there is a cover charge. I can't remember if it was $10 or $20, but there is a charge. And drinks are a bit pricey, which is to be expected at this type of establishment.
Grab a friend or two, or come solo, either way you'll have a grand time!
