23 Rooftop Bars and Restaurants With Spectacular Views Around Atlanta

Rosé & Rye - Review - Buckhead - Atlanta - The Infatuation

"This clubby rooftop bar and lounge sits on top of Hotel Colee in Buckhead (a.k.a. the old Whiskey Blue at the W). Two patios showcase mediocre views of Buckhead, but the main party happens inside in the lounge areas. There's occasionally live music, but most nights R&B and rap tunes blast over the speakers. While the club experts move through the dancing crowds without spilling their drinks, the true savants make reservations for the roped off leather couches. Unlike most club bars that cheat you on the alcohol, Rosé & Rye serves great, balanced cocktails like their cinnamony lychee martini or classic sidecar, which would win them honors in mixology class. Light bites like cheesy flatbreads are available before 10pm, but you're mainly here for the drinks and party vibe." - Juli Horsford

Nice rooftop. I came here when it was whiskey Blue. Different name but same vibes. The music is good and the food is good enough. I've tried the fries and the wings. Nice for an after dinner cocktail but I wouldnt come here for dinner unless I was staying in the hotel.

Google
A++ service from Alexis. Food was good. Vibes were upscale, but casual. Roof top on both sides give good views, and a relaxing area to sit.

Came here for an event and the place is beautiful but that’s about all I’d give it. I got a couple of drinks that had a funny aftertaste, like maybe they left the mixers open in the refrigerator. I had fries that were unevenly seasoned and had a TOUCH of sauce so Half the time I was eating extremely salty or bland fries with no sauce on them. Then I ordered their triple chocolate cake, which was my fault because I was already not feeling it and I just wanted something sweet but it literally was like a chunk of cold chocolate lol plus our server knew nothing like the dessert of the day, gave me the wrong drink menu… it was just not what I expected. I probably won’t come back but the vibes were great! Everyone seemed to be having a good time. Would definitely come if an event if happening, just pre game before

Google
This is a very nice atmosphere. Workers are attentive. The food I would think would be better. I ordered whiskey buffalo wings. I thought that meant they would be buffalo style with an extra flavor of something, they were plain buffalo wings. The sliders were ok. The drinks are good. I would come back just not a typical place to grab food.

Google
I enjoyed this cozy bar on the top floor of the hotel colee. There's no real messaging in the lobby to help you find the restaurant. It's on the top floor through the hotel elevator. The experience is defined by occupancy. When I first arrived the place was quiet with warm appointments and furnishings. I appreciated subtle seasonal touches. The drinks were fantastic. After some groups of friends or business acquaintances came in, the character of the place was a bit noisier with more energy and service slowed a little. I enjoyed it overall and would return.

Google
We were told they close at 3, but at 2 they wrapped everything up. There was a private party going on, but if you are staying at the hotel, they will let you in. Bartender was busy serving too many people at once. Should’ve noted that the drinks already came with a gratuity fee so we double tipped. Drinks will run you about $18-$20

Google
I visited here for a 40th birthday party. Beautiful elegant ambiance. Modern chic feel. The door security was nice and helpful. The bartenders at the actual bar were a bit rude and unenthusiastic. We decided to sit on the patio because it was a beautiful night, and lucky for us, we had an upbeat joyful server, Alexis. She took great care of us the remainder of the evening, and we had an amazing time. The menu was very limited, and I'm not sure if it's always like that or if it was for the event? Either way, it's a great spot to have a cocktail on the rooftop. Great dj as well.

Google
Great atmosphere and music. The bar is gorgeous with moody decor & a great DJ but the service is lackluster. Our server came and asked for our drink order without giving us a menu. The drink took forever to come as well. It’s a small facility but I don’t think they’re equipped to serve fast enough to truly enjoy the experience. Definitely pregame and then come here! The vibe will be much better.

Yelp
It's a rooftop bar so I should have tempered my expectations. Especially when we saw they were frisking the guy ahead of us. When we arrived, it was the final minutes before the later night crowds had descended, so the bar was empty. We had to wait a while to order, OK, no big deal, but I was less than thrilled with what should be a standard drink, an Aperol Spritz, which came at a NYC price with a fraction of the expertise (not that it takes any great skills to make a spritz). Simply put, something was missing or the Prosecco was flat. We grabbed the last seats available outside and watched as people came out and then reluctantly back inside where the music was too loud and the sound system couldn't handle it. Outside, we sat by a fuzzy speaker, quickly drank our drinks and left If a rooftop bar could just be chill, no thumping music through a questionable sound system, no mediocre cocktails at a premium price, perhaps then I wouldn't feel this sense of doubt when considering going to one. In theory, these should be great places to sip on a drink while taking in gorgeous views of the city lights, breathing in that city air. It's just often not the case.

Yelp
We went on a Friday evening around 5pm. I think I really enjoyed the vibe after a work week especially since it wasn't too crowded when we went and laid back. Drinks are amazing. Very strong and easy. Nice ambience, enjoyed the views. Service was quite slow despite it being pretty empty when we got there.

Yelp
Easily one of the best rooftop experiences you'll get in the city of Atlanta. The ambiance is perfect for an intimate date night or a girls night out. No cover charge on the night we went out which left plenty of money to get a couple rounds. Will definitely be my go to spot going forward!

Yelp
My husband and I stayed at the Colee hotel and went upstairs to enjoy the night. I had the frozen rosé and it was really good. I loved the atmosphere. It wasn't too crowded and there was plenty of seating options. There wasn't closed off sections forcing people to stand. We sat on the patio. There was a slight breeze but not bad due to the heaters being on. They felt good. Overall good experience and will return.

Yelp
Rose & Rye charged $30 for a Friday night entry fee. This entry fee grants access to their slow bartenders, wet and worn patio furniture and admittedly good DJ. I went with friends who were staying at the hotel. My friends were a couple and the woman at the register said that only 1 person per room could get in free. So even if you and your husband are staying in the hotel, one of you will have to pay to enter the bar in the hotel where you're paying to sleep. Outrageous!!! There were four people working the bar, and we had to wait 30 minutes for our drinks. Embarrassing. It had rained earlier in the day, and no one who works there thought about bringing in the sofa cushions so the cushions were still wet at 11pm, and we couldn't sit on the patio sofas. The clientele is not special enough to warrant an entrance fee. You can see these same people anywhere in Atlanta. ANYWHERE!!! There is valet and self-parking, and of course they don't validate. The only good thing about this experience was the DJ. They played great music, and I enjoyed it while I was there. But I will never go back. This space was better when it was Whiskey Blue.

Yelp
Attended for an event and had a great time. I heard that there is usually a $20 cover fee so take note of that. You can check their Instagram to learn about events. For this event I got free tickets to attend. I decided to park in the paid lot just to the left of the entrance of the hotel. The parking is $6 per hour. The ambience was nice and the DJ was really good. I like that the rooftop has different areas to see the city. Our waitress was amazing and the drinks were really good.

Yelp
Came here late for a party right before the kitchen closed. The service was quick! The vibe is nice and the rooftop are expansive and have some good views! Before the kitchen closed we ordered the chicken sliders but they were SAD! They put a tiny chicken tender into the sandwich for both and it was just skimpy to say the least. The flavors were good but would not order again. I would come back but for drinks only.

Yelp
Rose' & Rye is a lively hotel located on the rooftop of the Colee Hotel. The ambiance is very sophisticated with accents of gold, throughout. The play a nice variety of music and the drinks are decent. It's definitely catered to a younger crowd, which is why I didn't stay too long, but it's definitely worth checking out. My only complaint is that service at the bar is extremely slow.
google avatar

Sheena G.

Yelp
So...I have been here 3x this year and each time despite awesome service from all staff and bar, it just didnt leave a great impression. The parking is super overpriced. 30-40 each time. The drinks are pricey as expected for area and rooftop but they arent special at all. So it feels like a waste. The views are ok, other places have better.
google avatar

Delina G.

Yelp
Gorgeous rooftop! Drinks are classics and include my fave options. Have been here for a couple events as well and always received consistently good service.
google avatar

Kyshia M.

Yelp
Whomp. This place is nothing special. We got bottle service. I don't recommend. It's best to pay the $10 cover fee and have a place to go to afterwards. The crowd was slim to none for a Friday night. Dj played some good music tho. The bottle choices are limited. Casamigo's isn't even the best tequila yet that had 3 variants of it. The only mixer they had was orange juice and grapefruit juice. YUCK! Valet parking is $15. If you want a fun lit place to be this ain't it.

Yelp
Brittany the bartender made my birthday weekend so special it was definitely a vibe and my ladies and I will be back again soon!!

Yelp
The views. The views. The views! The drinks. The drinks. THE DRINKS! I so love the rooftop ambience and the bartenders are AH-Maze-ZING!

Yelp
This place is a vibe! Loved everything about it! We went here for drinks on a Saturday night. The staff was super nice! The rooftop was a chill vibe which is always a plus. Didn't get to eat as the kitchen closes around 9 I THINK. Oh and the music was definitely adult vibes lol a lot of throwbacks! I would return and recommend to others!

Yelp
I came here while back in Atlanta for the wedding of a few friends. As someone who lived in Atlanta more than 10 years ago, I thought it was nice to see this sort of more upscale venue open. We had a private section that was in the middle of the action. It was sort of chilly outside, so I really didn't go outside but did appreciate the nice venue. The DJ was playing a nice mix of R&B, hip hop, pop, and especially songs from the 90s, which was just perfect for our group. The cocktails were typical lounge-type cocktails at lounge cocktail prices. The line at the bar was quite long, so when someone would go over to order drinks for a few of us in the group, it was if they were gone forever. The one big thing was that there wasn't a drop of food available when we arrived because their kitchen closed super early. We were so hungry by the time we left that we ended up at...wait for it...Waffle House, because it was open. LOL

Patricia C.

Yelp
Rose and Rye has a lovely ambiance. Every time I've visited, it's never been super crowded, which I love. The views from the outside patio space is breathtaking. The customer service is top-notch. The entire staff is always very friendly. The drinks are tasty and arrive quickly. I hosted a private party there in June and the young lady who served our party was incredible! The food was amazing and they kept the drinks flowing. The event manager was very easy to work with. I highly recommend Rose and Rye for a private event or a spot to chill and get a good drink and quick bite to eat. I'm looking forward to my next visit.

Judith C.

Yelp
My husband and I were invited for an evening out at Rose & Rye by Breanna Maurisset. We are so thankful we accepted that invitation. The venue is beautifully impressive with noticeably friendly and accommodating staff. We enjoyed specialty drinks and chatting with various staff. The service and atmosphere were top drawer such that we'd love to plan a return visit whenever we find ourselves back in the Atlanta area. Best wishes to all at Rose and Rye!

Yelp
My sister wanted to find a hookah bar and we came across this place. The lounge opens at 10 pm so we arrived at 10:30 to their valet parking. The establishment was almost entirely empty so we came much earlier than needed. By 11 pm there were an extra 15 people so it felt more like a vibe. There was a special deal that hookah on the front porch was $25 instead of $45 which we were glad for. The flavor we tried was the orange mint which tasted just like how its described. New coals were offered every 30 minutes. Drinks were decent with a full bar and servers were very nice. Overall, we had a good experience and I would come again!

Imani B.

Yelp
First I was charged $30 for parking. Only self parking (for $5 less) and valet options available. Once arriving I ordered a house margarita and an extra shot of tequila in the drink. I was charged $45 plus automatic gratuity... I was told by the bartender that the house tequila was casamigos and the manager stated I couldn't get a refund for it because they could no longer resell it due to me taking one sip out of it. Reselling a drink at the bar when you've already given it to a customer is quite disgusting in my opinion. Other than that the rooftop is pretty nice and good for a chill evening. Just be sure to not get scammed when you order. I never leave reviews but this was very disappointing given I was there for a chill girls night and no one else was charged the amount I was charged for ONE drink.

Yelp
Sent there just a hang out. Drinks are very pricey. It once was grown and sexy not anymore.
google avatar

Danielle M.

Yelp
I came out for an impromptu night out with some friends. It was my first time there and when we arrived, we had a little trouble finding a seat. There were plenty but most were reserved. One of the waitresses helped us get settled at a table near the DJ booth. Chill vibes and a pretty mixed crowd. While I didn't have any food that evening due to being there a short time, the drink i had was very good . I will definetly return when I'm not in such a hurry so that I can try the food.
google avatar

Yelp
Yesterday I visited Rosé & Rye connected to Hotel Colee in the Buckhead area of ATL. I ordered 2 Casamigos Margaritas and an order of the Whiskey Blues Wings. While my waitress Dominique was phenomenal, the kitchen struggled to get my food right. The wings originally ordered came out with the wrong sauce, when they did corrected the order, my wings weren't as hot (temperature) as expected. Overall the experience was good. If I return, I would order the drinks again and try other food options.
google avatar

Shanika G T.

Yelp
A group and I visited for a Bachelorette party. We prepaid for a section. When we we're taken to our section outside there were several large water bugs in our area so we asked to be seated inside. The section included two couches and a bench. Our waitress was amazing and the drinks are amazing!!!!! They stop serving food at 9 pm which is such a disappointment. The DJ got started around 10 and that's when the party started. The atmosphere was cool, music was good, and drinks were great. I would return, but I'll make sure I'll eat beforehand.
google avatar

Cam S.

Yelp
Nice Bar experience. I would go back for drinks. The kitchen closes at 10. It is a wide open space apart of the Hotel. The elevator is toward the front. Valet parking only with cost around $22 for 1-4hrs. There is a massive elevator to take you to the roof. It is very dark and the only major lighting is actually inside. You have to make reservations. They cannot split your bill more than 3 checks I believe. So it was 4 of us with a bill of $200+ so we separated it to two checks with a cost of $100+ so only 2 cards were given. We zelled or cashapp our half to the person who presented the card. This was a nice upscale experience if you want to put on some clothes and be cute. Great for date or girls night. No live music this Thursday. Would go again but eat before you come. They have bar apps so make sure you eat something if you want food. This is really a sip and sit feel. The apps we tried were good. The cauliflower was my fav though!

Terri G.

Yelp
The waitress was rude and the music was disgusting. I am no prude but hearing the n word over and over and songs about f---ing and rape are too much. A lot of nothing for overpriced drinks.
google avatar

Gaby B.

Yelp
Came on a Thursday night to start the night however left underwhelmed because of the food. The staff and bartenders were attentive and communicative about their kitchen, and even better with the drinks. We were okay and ordered anyway. Our food didn't arrive hot considering how long it took for bar food (we ordered fries, which came last, Brussels sprouts, slice of cake and sliders) however we were well taken care of at the bar that we didn't stress it. Between the music, the rooftop and the staff... we had a blast, and will return but won't be ordering food ever again.

Yelp
Saturday, 11/07/2020 - Checked out Whiskey Blue Lounge in Atlanta, GA. We Uber there. There is a $10 (cash only) entry charge. Closes at 3am. Upon entry... Pros: 1) you'll need to take the elevator to the roof. 2) there's 2 seating sections outside on each side of the room. Beautiful setting. 3) music was popping. 4) there is a bar. Bartenders were nice. They made sure to ask each of our group of people to see if we wanted a drink. None of us were skipped. 5) people attending were nice. 6) not many people wore masks. I kept mine on. Never know with COVID going around. 7) drinks were good. 8) there are booths and plenty of indoor seatings. Not super packed. 9) there are 3 stalls in women's bathroom. 10) there are hand soap and a hand air blow dryer in bathroom. 11) entry line short. Cons: 1) in the women's bathroom, the big stall was out of toilet paper, toilet seat wet. A little dirty inside. The other 3 stalls were clean and had toilet paper. 2) the seating outside, the view? When looking out through the glass, you're looking down to parking. Isn't as spectacular as what we'd expected. The view at 1st entry was better. 3) the exit we got off elevator was dark and dim. A little scary. Conclusion: It's ok here. People were very nice. Bartenders nice. Hostess was nice. Not too shabby. I like that it opens late. So for those of you looking for a long night of hang out, this place closes at 3am. Don't forget there's a $10 cover charge.

Yelp
Just a dope vibe! Loved the lemon drop martini and the ambiance was fun! Highly recommended!!

Weston W.

Yelp
Terrible service! The bar want serve anyone a drink unless they have a seat. I wasted an Uber ride to get told they don't have any seats.
google avatar

Elmore M.

Yelp
Wait a minute they charging a cover to get in ‍ Not doing it! I was patted down out of a group of People and then one of the only ones charged!!!!
google avatar

Hena A.

Yelp
I went to whiskey blue on a Saturday night and was pleasantly surprised! The lounge itself is stunning with upscale vibes and indoor/outdoor seating. DK helped us and ensured we had everything we needed. He definitely kept the night going so well! The drinks were good and so was the music. My four stars are due to the fact that they have a cover charge and that is SO weird. Everything about that screamed low class. There is this stunning venue with an amazing crowd but charge a cover to get in as if we're at some gross college club. Once you get over that and get a few drinks in you, the night at whiskey blue is thoroughly enjoyable!
google avatar

Sabrina P.

Yelp
I am visiting Atlanta and was recommended this place for drinks. The atmosphere and DJ were lit. The bar has an upscale lounge vibe with great views. The drinks were well made but my only complaint is that there is only one bar inside which causes a large crowd trying to all order drinks at once. Although they had three bar tenders behind the bar on a Friday night, the crowd was never ending and it took well over 15 minutes to get a drink.
google avatar

Candy C.

Yelp
Love it here. Super chill, great appetizers and drinks. Came here on a Thursday just to relax with a date, we sat on the balcony and had a few cocktails. The service was awesome and the music was fun.

George D.

Yelp
Cannot make a good martini. The first one was half vermouth, the remake was just straight vodka. Didn't try a third time.

Betsy M.

Yelp
We had an amazing time tonight celebrating my friend's birthday. The drinks were awesome and the food was surprisingly good. You def need to check out this place for the views and drinks and food!
google avatar

Amber T.

Yelp
Super trendy views, decor, and vibes! Really good energy here, fun music, and good cocktails! Started off with a margarita that was extremely sweet but switched to my go to Tito's soda and had a great night. Staff is great! The bartenders were all attentive and quick, they handled the crowd really efficiently and they clean up the leftover glasses on the table quickly.
google avatar

Yelp
Horrible service , mediocre food. Service staff huddled by the bar for the 2 hours I was there. Wife and I ordered drinks and 3 apps after seating ourselves. After ordering we were asked to move because a large group was booked. Seemed weird but ok. My vodka-soda lacked flavor and carbonation. Food arrived - slider was supposed to be mid-rare but was rare and had no texture on the outside. Flatbread pizza was loaded down with presauced shredded chicken. Brussels Sprouts we're good. Our server was standing by the bar on her phone with her coworkers and never checked if food was good or if we wanted another drink. Had to wave her down to come over so we could ask for waters. Everyone seemed to be waiting for the club crowd that comes after dinner service is over. Will never return.
google avatar

Punga I.

Yelp
We went there after a conference for dinner at the roof top. Great wings. Great nachos and the dip. Nice presentation of fries with egg on top. They don't have non alcoholic drinks so you have to do away with sparkling water or lemonade. Won't return unless someone else is paying!
google avatar

Marquita H.

Yelp
3 stars for the ambiance and service. The establishment is way over priced and the drinks are watered down and food is mediocre.
google avatar

Maria R.

Yelp
The ambiance of the place was very chill and was filled with a bunch of people to meet. This was my first time going to a bar in buckhead. I will definitely be going back. The bartenders and security guard were very friendly.
google avatar

Iyasha L.

Yelp
Nice Ambiance however I really wasn't impressed with the experience and I was completely underwhelmed. I don't think I will come back to this spot .

Yelp
Visited 8/9/19 This was my 2nd time here but this time it was. My Birthday! My husband surprised me with a full weekend of activities and checking in at the W, getting room service and pre-gaming. The Staff..lol from the Doorman to the Bartenders to the Security everyone is attractive. I guess that's the pre-requisite to work here. Are you tall? Do you have nice skin? Nice teeth? You're hired? lol The drinks are beautifully crafted, great-tasting, and a bit pricey but in this case you get what you pay for and they were delicious. Did I share we were pre-gaming downstairs in our room? So it didn't take much for me to get a little tipsy. The atmosphere is grown and sexy. This is definitely 30 and up and I can appreciate that. No fighting, no shooting. Everyone was dressed nicely and I'm sure I'll be back whenever the opportunity presents its self.
google avatar

Lauren L.

Yelp
I was encouraged to visit this bar while visiting Atlanta. It was slightly different from my expectations. It's an upscale lounge. The music is loud. The drinks are good. I don't believe food is sold or at least I didn't see any. The bartenders were amazing and managed the crowd well. Wish there were bar stools at the bar because there weren't many seating options. Great place to hang with the girls.

Yelp
I was in Atlanta for one night and wanted to go somewhere to enjoy the evening. When I arrived, I was pleasantly surprised to find out it was at a W Hotel. They are known for their lively clubs inside of the hotels. I entered the hotel and walked to the elevator to get to Whiskey Blue. The club was nicely done with good interior lighting. I arrived at around 1am on a Saturday night and it was packed. I went to the bar to get drinks and the bartenders were very fast for being as busy as they were. I walked to the outdoor area and stayed there for pretty much the rest of the night. There was also a bar there. The music ranged from 90s to current hip-hop and R&B, which I enjoyed. The ambiance was nice and I chatted up a few other patrons. I would definitely go again the next time I am in Atlanta.
google avatar

Alexus S.

Yelp
I've been here twice. Once on a Saturday and then most recently on a Friday for the NYE bash. Just like most places in Atlanta, if you want to sit, you must pay. They require a minimum of $60/per person in drinks to reserve a table, and I think there is an additional fee for an actual section, I believe. But I digress. The first time I visited Whiskey Blue, I had a blast. The people were beautiful and dressed immaculately which just made the ambiance that much better. It does appear to be an older crowd (mid-30s and up), that frequent Whiskey Blue, but that's no problem for me, as I prefer it that way anyways. No hoopla and carrying on! On my most recent visit, which was this past Friday for their New Years Eve bash, me and a friend arrived to the party pretty early, around 9ish, and it was pretty empty. For the event to be sold out online, we were expecting a large crowd. We figured since it was still early in the night, people would show up later. We were able to snag a free table out on the patio, which was awesome! There wasn't any music playing that we could hear on the patio, so we just talked and did our own thing. Around 11ish it started to get packed. The DJ was a hot mess. Nothing but rap and foul music was being played. Mind you, for the NYE bash it was supposed to be a Black Tie/Cocktail party, so I was expecting more sophisticated music to match the theme. When it was nothing but curse words and rap music playing, I was thrown off. I did like my drink (I had a ginger ale lol) and the Hors'doeuvre they served, so no complaints there. Overall, I have enjoyed my time at Whiskey Blue, and will definitely come back again. Oh yeah, and on the weekends there is a cover charge. I can't remember if it was $10 or $20, but there is a charge. And drinks are a bit pricey, which is to be expected at this type of establishment. Grab a friend or two, or come solo, either way you'll have a grand time!

Yelp
My wife and I came for our 10 year wedding anniversary and we had a great time ! The energy from the staff was amazing ! The ambiance was chill ! The manager Dexter was very hospitable. Made our very special . We'll definitely be back soon

Yelp
Feeling a little pretentious, I came in Friday night to grab a drink with a friend. We came and and we were greeted right away. It was somewhat windy, so we parked at a small couch and decided to people watch. I LOVE THE DECOR. It's very chic, relaxed and somewhat uppity. The service was pretty slow, which shocked me because the place wasn't that busy, and I noticed a few servers at the bar chatting. I ordered the kettle one martini with blue cheese olives. The drink was stiff and the olives were on point. It wasn't $15 good, but I get why the drinks are pricey. I was bummed to hear that valet was $15. I only stayed for 30 minutes and paid $30 for my time there. I will probably come back, but maybe to end my night out.

Yelp
The rooftop view was nice and the bartenders were on point. The kitchen was closed by 9pm.
