"Relocated from East Hampton Village to Amagansett in fall 2023, Rowdy Hall 2.0 is bigger and arguably better than it ever was. The contentious black exterior aside, there’s a spacious dining area, a bar playing Knicks games, plus an excellent backyard. It’s all about the pub food here—a giant fluffy Bavarian pretzel and buffalo wings, crisp and spicy with a tangy sauce that’s not too intense. The homemade ice cream is worth visiting for, too: creamy, soft, and available in seasonal flavors with your choice of toppings to dress up as a sundae." - melissa kravitz hoeffner, team infatuation

"The famed pub bistro, owned by the Nick and Toni’s group called Honest Man, is not gone, just relocated to Amagansett. Ir will still serve such favorites as the Rowdy burger, fish and chips, and French onion soup, along with new dishes including charcuterie boards and a raw bar." - Beth Landman

We stumbled upon this local bar and decided to stop in for a quick bite. We tried the escargot, which was quite good, especially paired with the toasted garlic bread. We also ordered the mussels, which were packed with flavor and had a nice sweetness to them.

Google
Fantastic food, attentive and friendly service - you can’t go wrong with a meal here. They have a brunch/lunch service on Friday-Sunday which is great. Food quality is high and prices are reasonable for the Hamptons. There’s parking in the back in case you find it too busy on 27.

Nice little spot on the strip - Food was good overall; but my wife's chicken was a bit underwhelming. Burger was tasty, but a touch overpriced for the offering. I understand it's the Hamptons, and you've got to keep up with the Kardashians - just that a little more goes a long way. Servers were great and attentive, which is definitely a positive. Fries were on point - I'll definitely give them that. My daughter enjoyed her fish and chips, so again - not a bad experience, just possibly an 'off' day for the kitchen. We'd probably visit again when the schedule allows.

Google
Why did they move? The bar counter is far too wide. No Irish flag flying and I visited a couple of hours after the St. Patrick's parade. The guy who poured the Guinness didn't slant the glass and disappeared for 7 min while I waited to fully fill the pint. Disappointing in the extreme. I didn't bother ordering food. I do like the logo and the name but stop letting standards fall.

Google
A great little pub, tucked away in a small East end town. The food was delicious and they had a good selection of locally brewed beer. I had one of their burgers, which was juicy and cooked perfectly. The Croquet Madame which my wife had was super tasty.

Google
Great service and overall vibes. We had a round of drinks that were good along with some wings. The wings were your typical bar food and nothing special. Annabelle our server was super nice and informative when giving suggestions and came to check on us often.

Google
This restaurant excels at being terrible in every aspect. The manager was incredibly rude. We were a group of six women from Georgia, and he seated us at two separate tables, even though the restaurant wasn’t full. When a larger table became available, he refused to move us there. The food was a major disappointment as well. I ordered a chopped salad, but what arrived was two lettuce leaves with a random assortment of fruit and the wrong dressing. Others in our group had salmon, which was dry, and the skin was far from crispy. To make matters worse, we waited an eternity for someone to open a bottle of wine. We later heard from locals that this isn’t a good place for dinner, and now we understand why. Sometimes, even if the food isn’t great, excellent service can make up for it. But in this case, the manager’s incompetence and hostile attitude made the experience unbearable. Someone with such a poor attitude toward guests has no business working in hospitality.

Google
I ordered the unique take on a salad. Loved it. I had a bite of my friend's tuna and it was really special. Four of us shared the s'mores dessert plus the peanut butter ice cream. Uh-mazing. We went a second time and the food was wonderful, but our server must have been new. We waited around a long time for her to come for the dessert order (she was just standing by the computer chatting with somebody forever) after which she told us that the peanut butter ice cream was sold out which put us all in kind of a bad temper. I did end up ordering the chocolate cake which was absolutely delicious (but I was really hoping to have it topped with peanut butter ice cream). Once she finally brought the checks upon request, they haven't been divided properly, she billed for water, etc.

Yelp
We stayed in the Hamptons one weekend and we stopped here for dinner. I was blown away by their espresso martini, it was one if the best I have ever had! For dinner we shared a bunch of apps including the escargot, giant pretzel, and artichoke which were all amazing. My favorite however was the french onion soup, the veal broth was out of this world. It is a must order!

Calvin K.

Yelp
Pros : Service here is on point. The atmosphere is clean and nice. Cons : The food is nothing special - for starters they changed their burger style, before they relocated from EH they had a legit sesame seed bun, now the bun is a basic generic one you find at a cheap rushed backyard BBQ. I ordered my burger medium, it was totally well done, I couldn't even finish it. Burnt vibes. The fries were overly salty and borderline not edible. I got a chili & cornbread special,l - the chili was fine, but it there was 3x more cornbread than chili, so it was a bad proportion. End of the day forty-five bucks before tip for a burger with fries and a chili with cornbread appetizer is pretty excessive for how unimpressive it all was. One and done for me personally.

Yelp
Lunch 2/3/24. Ordered three onion soups, two burgers and wings. Asked that all be delivered at same time. Soups arrive-very good, though $18. Wings came 15 minutes later. Burgers come another 15 minutes later-lukewarm, not hot. Were they sitting waiting to be delivered to the table? Seems that way. Fries were overcooked. Waitress was very pleasant but the timing and delivery of the food was poor. Very surprised and disappointed. Renovations were well done. Rowdy Hall needs to up its game on the actual food preparation and delivery.

Yelp
Great place in East Hampton tucked away from the Main Street for casual pub fare. The portions are generous without being too much food. French onion soup was deliciously cheesy and the s'mores sundae is not to be missed. It might be one of the best things I've eaten anywhere in town! The homemade seasonal ice cream (peanut butter) was also delicious. On a weekday night after Labor Day it wasn't too crowded and we easily got a table for four. Only downside is that the chairs stick to the floor and it's difficult to move your chair in and out. But that wouldn't stop me at all from going back to or recommending this great place!

Joseph D.

Yelp
Service was excellent! Food came out quickly and was nice and hot with good presentation! The mussels were delicious!

Gabrielle P.

Yelp
The food was excellent! Loved the escargot and the fluke. My bf got the burger he enjoyed it a lot and his grandma got the French onion soup which she loved! I love how it's sets back on the Main Street with indoor and outdoor dining. Would def go back!

Stacey O.

Yelp
Solid comfort food, good drinks and lovely atmosphere! I won't take a position on the black exterior controversy!

Yelp
We went to the new Rowdy Hall recently relocated from E Hampton to Amagansett tonight for an early Sunday dinner. The place was pleasantly packed and vibrant. Seventies Classics and Eighties New Wave music played in the background. We were told by the friendly hostesses that we'd perhaps have a 45 minute wait and grabbed drinks at the bar. To our happy surprise just 15 minutes later we were seated. Service was spot on (thanks to our friendly and efficient server, Suri). The elevated pub fare was perfectly cooked, brought swiftly to the table. After a shared shrimp cocktail that would rival that of any seafood restaurant or high end steakhouse, we enjoyed a cheese burger and fish and chips both cooked perfectly and brought to the table piping hot. In essence, it was a perfect, casual Sunday night dinner. We will be back regularly for sure.

Yelp
I came to amagansett to try the new rowdy hall location. it was always a casual favorite. I think we should all give them time to settle in to their new space. this evening, Rowdy Hall has the distinction of providing the worst service I have ever experienced in all my years of eating out. I sat there for a half hour waiting for my dinner while my companion was served. the waitress disappeared and was unable to produce my meal from the kitchen. it was only after we asked for the manager to come to our table that I eventually got my dinner. Best of luck Rowdy Hall but for now, what a mess. Linda Li

Yelp
This is for the new Rowdy Hall in Amagansett. We went there Sunday night around 4:30 or so and it was packed just like the night before, but we did find a seat at the bar. Wasn't a good experience at the bar, felt ignored and waited 20 minutes for the guy to take our order, but again it was very busy. Went to a table for dinner, nice seating. We had the special prime rib and it was excellent! The staff are friendly and hard working. The room is a good size but very noisy due to the amount of people there I guess, it was fun! So glad they opened there, definately going back.

Joyce E.

Yelp
Great, casual atmosphere with delicious food and wonderful, professional and friendly service.

Dawn B.

Yelp
Superb cheese burger. Staff is super friendly. Rowdy Hall complements the Amagansett vibe. Amagansett Main Street is whole once again.

Yelp
I've been coming to Rowdy Hall since I was at least 13 years old and am now about to turn 19 and overtime i've seen the place I once loved and would frequent turn into a place i'm not dying to go to anymore. After covid many of my favorite items were removed from the menu like the disco fries and buffalo chicken dip. I understand that menu changes had to be made but I feel as though there isn't much variety anymore. Tonight I went out with my dad and didn't have to wait more than 5 minutes, which was quite pleasant. After we were sat the waiter came over and we ordered our drinks, appetizers, and entres since we already knew what we wanted. We started off with the clams casino, which to me are always a hit. They were flavorful and delicious and overall incredibly enjoyable. I then had the meatloaf which was absolutely devine, it is possibly my favorite dish on the whole menu. The sauce and vegetables were great, and the meatloaf was cooked to perfection. My dad however had ordered the steak frites medium, but when it came out it looked a bit burnt and my dad said it was quite over cooked. The fries were tasty, but other then that the steak was just alright, and for $38 I would expect a bit more than just alright. Moving onto desert, we were really excited to try the bread pudding since it used to be our favorite desert pre-covid. However we were incredibly disappointed with tonight's desert. The bread pudding was drowned out by the sauce which was quite unpleasant. This resulted in us leaving the bread pudding more than half intact. I had also ordered a hot chocolate to warm up on this cold night, but felt as though I was drinking warm water with chocolate. Super disappointed by the desert portion of the meal. I wish I could have left with a better experience, but in all honesty I was a bit let down. I hope they are able to improve their menu and bring back some old classics. Since that was the Rowdy Hall that I loved and spent multiple birthdays at, this new one however is one that I would not want to celebrate at.

Lucas B.

Yelp
Let me preface this review with something straight off the menu, $42 for 16oz of "wild-foraged apple cider." After my first visit at their new restaurant I learned two things, their reliably average tavern food remained unchanged but the prices have risen by at least 30%. This is a spit in the face of everyone who has been supporting Rowdy for years. For the exact same dish as you'd get before, you are looking at $18 for a bowl of onion soup, $20 for a burger (the cheapest entree), $30 for fish and chips, $36 for a pork chop. $8 for a side of "grilled bread." Unfortunately we've lost another local staple to greed and a lack of self awareness.

Elias M.

Yelp
Awesome food I love their fries and there muscles are exallent also I recommend the rowdy burger prices did go up a little

Sb B.

Yelp
I showed up at 4:30 with my family and 2 month old baby, that hostess told us she couldn't seat us until 5:00. When we got back a few minutes before 5 the dining room was full and the hostess told us it would be a 45 minute wait with a smirk. There was zero consideration for the fact that we had been there already are were with an infant. This was at their new location in amagansett. The food sucks anyway and I won't be giving them anymore business.

Don Z.

Yelp
Never fails to please, good vegan burger, good beers, good service, and they don't charge an additional fee for using a credit/debit card. They have good appetizers too.

Jarrett B.

Yelp
Best food in the world. Beer selection is better than Bavaria. Came in fall and loved the Munich selection. Staff is very welcoming. Easily the best place on the east end. A must stop for any body passing through. A+.

Rose Marie O.

Yelp
After all these years, it's nice for something local to still be there when you get a craving. Great place for a drink with friends or to grab a quick bite. The burgers and fries will never disappoint! The bonus is they are open all year round.

Bob G.

Yelp
Been here a few times Food was ok Had the moules And Andouille on garlic toast. Not bad! My friend decided to have the lobster roll! $42 for maybe 1/4 of lb of Lobster roll! On a Hot dog roll probably purchased at a now defunct FAIRWAY Lobster was at best caught within the last year! Over priced Under staffed Lame lobster roll Service slow- When does host or hostess not ask how was everything! Lame but open!

Tallulah S.

Yelp
Great food and variety thereof. Good service always. Pub friendly casual atmosphere w elevated dishes. There is a reason this cozy popular place has been around for a long time. Excited for their move to Amagansett Main St later this fall!

Yui C.

Yelp
Rowdy Hall was a great place for dinner, even during the off season. Had the seafood bisque (it was awesome) and their shrimp special was done nicely. I totally recommend this place. Whatever the season.

Gabrielle D.

Yelp
We stopped by on a Saturday in October for a couple beers before dinner. We had a great time sitting outside by the heaters. The atmosphere inside looked great as well. The beers are large which is always a bonus :)

Laurie F.

Yelp
Rowdy Hall is fun and lively with good food and it won't break the bank. Service is good, too.

Andy T.

Yelp
Went there tonight with my wife for dinner. I took a star off for the service. The moment we arrived we were met with attitude from the the desk when you walk in. Told it was a 20 minute wait for a half empty restaurant. Then when I gave my name, a table magically was available. When we sat, we ordered drinks, when the drinks came, ordered dinner. That is when things got bad. The food arrived and we asked the manager, who delivered our food, for another round of drinks. The waiter was MIA and never came back to our table until we called him over to ask where our drinks were. He said the bar was busy and ran away. Meanwhile our food was getting cold so we began eating. No drinks. By the time we finished half our food, the manager then said the bar was busy. We finished our food and still no drinks. Finally, after about 40 minutes, the manager brought the drinks. He said that if we didn't want them, he would throw them out. Very poor management skills. Instead of apologizing and comping the drinks, he said he would throw them out. I told him to toss them. He left and we had to ask a waitress who did not wait on us for the check. Not on my list to come back. Poor management and service!

Melissa H.

Yelp
Had a nice dinner here with my husband. Hard to see from the street, but still a good location on Main St. We didn't love the drinks, but the food was very yummy. I had the clams casino & moules frites and my husband had the Buffalo wings & a burger. Their fries are delicious and the service, although a little slow, was very polite.

Lucy W. H.

Yelp
The fish and chips were way overcooked. You can tell just by looking how dark the batter became. Fish was dry. Didn't eat it all, left it. The burger is the way to go here, what Rowdy Hall does best. I sent the artichoke back because it was tough as leather, and they were nice about it. Let me substitute chicken wings, but before I ordered, I asked if it was a mixture of the drumsticks and the flat part because I didn't want it if it was all drumsticks. My appetizer only came with one flat part.

Christina P.

Yelp
The mussels in white wine sauce were great. Would've been nice with some bread or fries to use all the sauce. Wings were decent we wanted two different sauces so we got them naked with sauce on side. No celery just carrots. Overall good experience wait staff was great. You can check in and get a free half pint of beer. But the prices are very inflated, even for Hampton's standards. We were one of the few people seated, we were at the bar for the one of the two sports TVs

Jazmine R.

Yelp
Totally recommend rowdy hall.. I was wondering where that philly cheese steak aroma was coming from & then I sniffed around and found out I also spoke about it with a friend that I work by. It was quite simple and easily understated. The fish and chips was memorable & I'll be back for more throughout the summer for sure. Excited to come bsck got the same thing and then some, the girls taking the orders are also super sweet & helpful. Not to mention the wonderful delightful smell that fills up east Hampton'a main st. It's a must try if you're passing through or staying for a little

Steven S.

Yelp
I have been going to Rowdy Hall for over 15 years and it never fails to deliver a delicious meal with great service. They have by far the best onion soap on the East End and a must. The clams casino, whole artichoke and mussels are also winners. For dinner, the burgers are always top notch as is the salmon and chicken. Their specials specials are usually always good too. Antonio at the bar is the BEST as is Michele which makes the experience even better. If your looking for a sure thing, this is the place.

Retna S.

Yelp
I had salmon Niçoise salad and it's delicious. I asked my salmon medium and it's perfectly cooked. Nice size of salmon. It has green beans, fingerling potato, a lot of olives. Highly recommend

a b.

Yelp
The food is fairly good but, my word, the service we received was beyond TERRIBLE. Sat down, waited for 15 minutes for server to take our drink order and then it took another 15 minutes for them to arrive. Our water glasses were frequently empty, we had to flag our server down for a second round and then he never asked us if we wanted anything else to drink. This, in my opinion, is not how the restaurant operates because a couple who came in after us and were seated at an adjacent table were promptly greeted by a different server and had already finished their appetizers and were on their entrees while we were still on our first course. I also saw another couple get extremely frustrated with our same server. Good pub food but the service from our particular server was so painfully inept that I doubt we'd return.

Kimberly G.

Yelp
I would definitely come back here. They have classic American fare and they have a lot of options. Our waiter was super cool, but all the other employees felt some kind of way. They have a non-alcoholic mojito that seems like a bar special. It tastes gross and artificial. The space is very small and intimate. The clams, burgers, and soup all get rave reviews. The sausages were a crowd favorite also.

Correy K.

Yelp
It's the hot spot in East Hampton, priced for the area and quite busy. The service wasn't super but friendly and courteous. I had the Veg Lasagna and a salad. There is a bar inside with TV and howling customers watching sports. Glad we picked this place for dinner. It was clean and the food is excellent.

Stephanie P.

Yelp
Embarrassed to admit this (because we just got back from France) but this place hands down has the best french onion soup I have ever had. Awesome comfort food, great for a hangover. Nice outdoor seating area.

George S.

Yelp
Decent enough. The food is pretty good and the service is okay for East Hampton. A safe choice for a burger and beer or for a French onion soup and some shared appetizers.

Neelum K.

Yelp
I don't give 5 stars often.... DAMN the food is DELICIOUS HERE!!!! We came as a group of 3 hungry for lunch and all ordered completely different dishes. We tried the French Onion Soup, the Monsieur Sandwich, fries, the Veg Lasagna... the cocktail specials. YUM on YUM! Service was a little over the top since we ordered one drink each, all perfect - spicy margarita, mojito, and vodka delight, they kept asking us if we wanted another (5x). Huge pour and we were too busy eating so said no. Great food! Not cheap! Great atmostphere and very attentive service. Perfect for lunch before the weekend crowd. Come hungry and share!

Jihye B.

Yelp
Visited here on my way back from the lighthouse on Labor Day. The parking around this area is a little tricky as the free parking around the central road is very limited. The restaurant is a bit inward from the main street and can be tricky to find at first. We split a bunch of dishes together, mostly sandwiches. The bread that they gave before the meal was nice & crisp. It was possibly my favorite part of the meal. I had the beer chicken sandwich on brioche and it looked like a disappointing chicken sloppy Joe at first but it was quite good. The hop flavor of the beer added a nice touch. The waffle cut chips on the side was not worth the effort, though, as it wasn't fried evenly and was too greasy. I had a bit of the burger and the oriental chicken salad as well. The burger was cooked a little bit more done than we asked but it was ok. The oriental chicken salad was terrible. The dressing was too bland and the salad didn't even look fresh. My mom said that the clam chowder was mediocre as well but I think it's time to recognize that no clam chowder will taste as good as ones we've had in New England. The staff seemed nice but not really great at their jobs, which I was surprised by since it looked like an upscale place. Overall, it was not a bad experience but I'm not sure if I'll be able to justify the menu price enough to visit again. I do want to give 3.5 stars if I was able to... it wasn't that bad.

Cherryl B.

Yelp
We physically came @2pm and requested a table and was told to text us back when table is ready. They never texted back and til now...it's few min their closing time

Araceli T.

Yelp
This place is a hidden jewel! We searched for a place to have lunch, most of the other restaurants were closed for the season, we decided to try it out. This place did not disappoint! Though it was busy, it was not loud. I ordered the Hot Salmon and my bf ordered the Fish and chips! Wow! Mouth watering! The service was great too! They also have a full bar! If you're in the area swing by here and have lunch!

Jane C.

Yelp
Food is very good- burgers are great. Service is usually really courteous and fast. Would definitely recommend to anyone.

Andrea N.

Yelp
Solid place, upscale classic American bar food. The burgers got rave reviews. Slightly pricey, but for East Hampton, not bad prices.

Katherine M.

Yelp
Always a good meal I live in East Hampton and this is one of my favorite go to spots The burgers are delicious and the specials are usually excellent

Neal N.

Yelp
Swayed by the outdoor seat and interesting menu items, I give this place a 4. Started with the fried oyster tacos. The part with the fried oyster and aioli was delicious, but the ratio of those to tortilla and lettuce were a bit disappointing. The Dock to Dish Fish Burger was also delicious. Fresh fish with kimchi slaw and sriracha aioli?? Always a winner in my book! Butternut squash was really good. Alternate layers of butternut squash (acting as the noodle), creamed spinach, sundried tomato vinaigrette and crispy leeks made for a very tasty dish. However, I wish they had kept pasta noodles and used more crispy leeks for texture. Add outdoor seating and an above average beer list, and you have yourself a very happy Yelper.

Fernando J.

Yelp
Really good ambiance, food and servers were great. Would definitely drive back to eat here.

Matthew P.

Yelp
Best escargot I've ever had! Coolest bartender as well. Will definitely be back soon.

Geoff W.

Yelp
I have eaten here twice. Both times the food has been very good. The servers are doing a fine job. Ambiance is great. I would highly recommend this restaurant. I have had the fish and chips twice and the salmon, as a shared plate. Very good. The artichoke app is very good.

Ingrid P.

Yelp
An East Hampton staple. Relatively affordable lunch/dinner, accommodating service, great fresh fish & chips. (Also the lemon aioli with the steamed artichoke is terrific -- I have tried to recreate it at home to no avail.) Lively & fun & a good place for children, should you be encumbered by children. The lunch menu is a little more extensive than the dinner menu, and they won't serve lunch items at dinner. The bartenders are friendly & engaging -- it's nice to have someone chit chat with you while you wait, or if you're having dinner at the bar alone. I find most of the bartenders of the Hamptons friendly & engaging, but they're particularly nice here, and they make an excellent Manhattan. (Also try the key lime pie with its perfect coconut crust.)

Crystal Y.

Yelp
We got to Rowdy Hall before their kitchen opened (11:30am) so we just sat around and they offered to bring us coffee and tea. When the kitchen opened, the server came and announced the daily specials. Each of us had the clam chowder. I ordered the fish & chips, which I enjoyed. My friends ordered the burger and a steak salad. The food was pretty good. Service was ok as it was a pub and the servers don't all look very experienced, but were polite. Overall, I liked the space and the food.

Mary A.

Yelp
Decent good old American food. Had the French onion soup and Meatloaf with mashed potatoes, gravy and carrots. Excellent comfort food! Onion soup portion was huge and was very good. I should have just ordered that and a small salad so I will need up taking home half the meatloaf. So, I had a delicious lunch the next day. My mom had the escargot and always orders them here. She loves them. She also had scallops on the special menu and thought those were good but not like the escargot. Good place with fair pricing and they were open on Monday night in November. Thank you for a decent place to go.
