I've been coming to Rowdy Hall since I was at least 13 years old and am now about to turn 19 and overtime i've seen the place I once loved and would frequent turn into a place i'm not dying to go to anymore. After covid many of my favorite items were removed from the menu like the disco fries and buffalo chicken dip. I understand that menu changes had to be made but I feel as though there isn't much variety anymore.
Tonight I went out with my dad and didn't have to wait more than 5 minutes, which was quite pleasant. After we were sat the waiter came over and we ordered our drinks, appetizers, and entres since we already knew what we wanted. We started off with the clams casino, which to me are always a hit. They were flavorful and delicious and overall incredibly enjoyable. I then had the meatloaf which was absolutely devine, it is possibly my favorite dish on the whole menu. The sauce and vegetables were great, and the meatloaf was cooked to perfection. My dad however had ordered the steak frites medium, but when it came out it looked a bit burnt and my dad said it was quite over cooked. The fries were tasty, but other then that the steak was just alright, and for $38 I would expect a bit more than just alright.
Moving onto desert, we were really excited to try the bread pudding since it used to be our favorite desert pre-covid. However we were incredibly disappointed with tonight's desert. The bread pudding was drowned out by the sauce which was quite unpleasant. This resulted in us leaving the bread pudding more than half intact. I had also ordered a hot chocolate to warm up on this cold night, but felt as though I was drinking warm water with chocolate. Super disappointed by the desert portion of the meal.
I wish I could have left with a better experience, but in all honesty I was a bit let down. I hope they are able to improve their menu and bring back some old classics. Since that was the Rowdy Hall that I loved and spent multiple birthdays at, this new one however is one that I would not want to celebrate at.
