I have been wanting to try this place forever, and I'm glad I got the chance to finally do so recently. We were able to find bar seating and were greeted right away once we sat down. They have a good selection of beers to choose from, and a full bar as well. For starters, we ordered the fried pickles and Reuben rolls- both were amazing. We ended up boxing up half of the appetizers because the portions were pretty big, and we wanted to save room for entrees.
For the main event, we ordered the stuffed poblano pepper and the fried green tomato blt-they were both extremely good. The pepper was stuffed with smoked beef burnt ends, a mixture of cheeses, and green chilies and it was served over cheesy grits, finished off with a rojo sauce and fresh cilantro. It was flavorful, hearty, and savory. The blt had fried green tomatoes, perfectly crisp bacon, arugula, pineapple salsa, and pepper jack cheese on a grilled sourdough bread. It was a classic blt but elevated, the flavors worked perfectly together. Of course, the portions for the entrees were very large so we boxed up most of those too. We ordered a slice of key lime cheesecake to go, which was devoured around 1am as a delicious late-night snack.
The food was so good that I actually woke up craving it, so I had a fried pickle and a Reuben roll for breakfast. The leftover blt was lunch/dinner, and even then, it was still amazing. I was very impressed with my first experience here, can't wait to try their brunch next.
