"Cleveland sports fans thrive on nostalgia, cherishing memories of past victories and beloved moments. That sentiment comes alive at The Rowley Inn, located in the Tremont neighborhood, adjacent to the famous house from the movie “A Christmas Story.” Owners Jon Oberman and Raphael Rivilla infuse every comforting dish with Cleveland pride, honoring the city’s working-class roots. “The pierogi-and-kielbasa dinner is our specialty,” says Oberman. They stuff the pierogi with potato and cheese and serve them alongside two spicy Hungarian sausages, with peppers, onions, and house slaw. With roots going back to 1906, The Rowley Inn caters to fans seeking comforting, familiar flavors before or after a big game." - Wendy Pramik

"This Cleveland institution opens every day at 7am, and cooks up comfort food for third-shift steel mill workers and tourists visiting the famed A Christmas Story House and Museum across the street. The breakfast bangers include avocado toast, bacon-wrapped tater tots, and an omelet stuffed with pierogi and Hungarian kielbasa. There are great latkes (which also happen to be vegan), and the smokehouse mac with pulled pork and peach-bourbon BBQ might just be the highlight of your week. The dining area is small, and the kitchen is even smaller, so enjoy a movie-themed cocktail at the bar while you wait for a table. " - kate bigam kaput

What a cool place in a great neighborhood!. From out of town and am so glad my friend from Cleveland took me here. Limited tap beer but plenty of bottles and cans. My Mediterranean bowl was fantastic. We sat at the bar and service was good. Rowley Inn is highly recommended for a neighborhood experience. Bonus: It is right across from the Christmas Story house and museum.

Can I give 10 stars?? Do NOT pass this up! I had no idea and no expectations. This is a 10 out of 10. Mike was our bartender and server and let’s just say his charisma and joy about the food brought us to a full tummy and an outstanding feeling. I drove a good bit to come here after the visit to the house… but this is a destination in itself. The mashed potatoes are the finest I have ever had in even the “finest” of dining. Everything is superb. Don’t miss this, seriously!!!! And ask for Mike!!! He is the BEST!!!

Really great food. Nothing fancy here but it's excellent. If your in the area it's a must try. The loco moski is a must try while in cleveland. The pepper gravy on it is very well seasoned. Mac and Cheese is also very good. Never had a bad meal here.

Stopped in after a visiting the Christmas Story house. We were greeted & seated promptly by the friendly hostess. The place is nothing fancy, just a nice neighborhood tavern. Expected to see some typical bar food and was pleasantly surprised, a fairly lengthy menu for sure. I went with the Kielbasa and Pierogi Dinner and the wife went with the Not Your Babcia's Chicken Paprikash. Both were nothing short of wonderful (and beautiful) I highly recommend both. The service was great as well. If you get in the area you need to check the place out👍

Convenient location after leaving the Christmas Story house. Inside is very tight, anything past 5 not a lot of seating. Seems to be a locals hangout which was kinda cool. Was not overly impressed with the food we ordered, my burger was pretty dry with very little of their chimchirri and asked for little more of which I was charged two bucks extra. Wasn’t fond of the mandatory 20% tip for a party of 5. That’s easy two adults and 3 kids. Drinks were a little rough to stay filled. Food came out fast that was great, the tots were indeed excellent and I do recommend to give them a try. All in all was a good stop after the tour, wasn’t the best food but I wouldn’t say it was bad, just average.

This is directly across the street from the Christmas Story house and is a great place to stop by for lunch if you are there. The only drawback is the wait to get in during busy hours. Nothing you can do about that though, it's a popular area. The food is awesome and tasty. I ordered the Reuben sandwich and it was ridiculously large. I mean that in a GOOD way! The restaurant is small and the tables are close to each other but the food and atmosphere more than makes up for it.

I have no real complaints about this place. Everything was about as expected. The environment feels like that of a local pub, and the service was fine. Although, we did get forgotten on drink refills at one point. We were seated right away. Seating is a bit tight, but it's manageable. For kids: They did have a high chair available, a cup with a lid and straw, and no crayons. The restaurant is located across the street from the Christmas Story House if you're interested in that. Street parking is limited, but it's free. As for the food, everything was good. We ordered the bacon-wrapped tots as featured on Diners, Drive-ins, and Dives. They are very good with the Chipotle ranch and worth a try. I ordered the chicken schnitzel with pepper gravy which came with garlic mashed potatoes and a side salad. My salad was a bit warm, but everything was good. The schnitzel was crispy and the gravy was flavorful. The kids burger was like a real, fresh burger and not a wimpy patty. The cheese on it was melty. The Rowley's Mac was also a good choice. We all left pleased.

I took my wife here for Mother's day, and I'm pretty sure I earned some husband points, lol. The inside is very unassuming and gives a "neighborhood bar" vibe. We stayed with the Brussels Shrimp, and let me tell you how amazing it was! The Brussel sprouts are charred and flavorful, the goat cheese is a perfect addition, and the shrimp was cooked just right. So we were ready to see what came next. My wife ordered the bacon wrapped filet, and it was cooked wonderfully at medium rare. I ordered the Stuffed Pablano Pepper, it was a taste party! The burnt ends are super tender, and the sauce, pepper, and grits just come together so well. Rowley Inn is new to our list of must have meals for a special occasion.
