"This all-day brunch spot brings a heavy dose of Big Easy flavors — and its robust drinking culture — to Main Street Franklin. The fried green tomatoes, pig candy bacon bites, and bayou shrimp benedict serve as the supporting cast to a saucy menu of mimosas, Bloody Marys, Sazeracs, and glasses of bourbon milk punch. Ruby Sunshine doesn’t accept reservations, so be sure to visit their website and sign up for their daily waitlist." - Jackie Gutierrez-Jones

Google
Ruby Sunshine in Franklin, TN, has the most delightful server, Shyler, who completely made my day. I was about to order something boring, and since it was my 1st time there, she suggested I try the Biscuits & Sausage Gravy instead. She was right! Hubby ordered the Fried Chicken Eggs Benedict. The food was delicious.

Google
First time here and can’t wait to go back. We got the cinnamon swirl pancakes and the Eggs Benedict with a side of bacon and grits. Both were phenomenal. I recommend doing the waitlist online so your time waiting in line is shorter as it stays super busy on Saturdays.

Nichole Fisnar

Google
The eggs Benedict with the slow cooked pork was amazing. The staff was very and even brought out a water bowl for my dog. Dog friendly patio. if I lived closer I would come here often

Jane Brumfield

Google
The fried green tomato eggs Benedict were wonderful. Eggs cooked to perfection and the amount of seasoning was perfect. Great texture and flavor. Service very attentive but not intrusive.

Ruby Sunshine is a wonderful breakfast restaurant located on the circle in beautiful Franklin, TN. Surrounded by beautiful scenery and numerous shops, you couldn't find a better place to eat and spend the day.

Google
Was very impressed with this place. Atmosphere was very relaxing. Food was something to get used too. Ordered poached eggs which were cooked in vinegar. Eggs were over power by the Vinegar and was not able to taste the egg. Had coffee and as I drank this coffee which was good I noticed the cup had not been cleaned properly. I was able to scratch up the build-up from in-side of the cup. Although the cup may have been "cleaned " by running it through the automatic washer it still had built up in it that my coffee was exposed to and I had drank from. Over all would I go back again. Properly. But will not order the poached eggs again.

Google
We enjoyed our experience for the most part. The server was attentive. The food was okay, but I had to knock off stars for food because the pancakes and French toast were so mushy. That really took away from the delicious flavor of it. Definitely don't like mushy pancakes. If this is an off day, I would be willing to try again, but if that is the normal way it is served, I don't have to go back.

Went here for Mother’s Day so it was a longer wait than anticipated but the food was worth the wait! Fun atmosphere, good drinks, and highly recommend!

Yelp
The Trifecta tantalized my taste buds! Order as described to get all those flavors. We had a party of 9. They had a table ready for us after we checked in online. Every person loved their food. Plus, kids ate free, so we got 4 free meals! Great experience all the way around. Highly recommend!

Yelp
The grits were probably some of the worst I've tasted in life. There was no flavor and they were room temp after I sent the first batch back to the kitchen. The pancakes were very good as was the sausage. The server was very good. Don't know if I'll be back to this location. It's better in NOLA.

Yelp
Visited on a busy Sunday about 1 pm. Loved being able to join the online waitlist and getting text updates. Our server was great. Super Friendly and knew her menu well. Gave up good recommendations. Food was meh though. My friend said her fried chicken was too dry. I had the Florentine omelette and would recommend and my other friend got the avo toast. We were excited to try a few mimosas and morning drinks. There was a great selection. We had the Ruby Mimosa, Bloody Mary and then later morning margaritas and Bellini. Bummer that all the drinkware was acrylic and dirty/spotty. Our drinks were not cold either since I think the glasses probably came out of washing. No one likes a Luke warm mimosa! Overall, will give this place another shot but maybe not for Sunday brunch.

Bob W.

Yelp
Actually all the food tasted good but every single one of us in our party of 4 meals were cold. Cold eggs, lukewarm coffee, and all the sauces were tepid at best. Could have been very good but no one likes a cold meal. We did share this with our server and they extended a tiny veterans discount which I already would have received. Way too many Nashville and vicinity breakfast places to bother with giving Ruby another chance. On the scale, this place is a 4.0 out of 10. Last weekend we visited Sweetmilk on the East side and breakfast was spectacular!!

Yelp
Came here for brunch on a Saturday morning. Understandably it was PACKED. We were on the waitlist beforehand and still had to wait about 45 mins to be seated. Then we waited another 45 mins for food once we finally ordered. I ordered coffee, which was okay but lukewarm. The unique concepts for Egg Benedict were interesting to me but the poached egg was overcooked.

Nina C.

Yelp
Delicious food and perfect portions. I had the shrimp and grits and the meal was tasty, including the biscuit and accompanying butter. The waiter was also friendly and cheery. We ate outside, allowing me to take in the Square. Highly recommend!

Ashley U.

Yelp
Genuinely one of my favorite brunch spots! The fried green tomatoes and Bloody Mary's I could eat and drink non stop! Only downfall is it's not the biggest place so there is usually a long wait, I recommend checking in online before you arrive.

Mac M.

Yelp
Great food, with a beautiful outside location right on the center circle in Franklin. Service had some hiccups because they were slammed but all in all, a good experience. Isaac is AMAZING!!

Ro W.

Yelp
I wasn't a fan. We had a 45m wait. When we sat down. It took the server close to 10m before he greeted us. I understand Sunday is a busy day for brunch. We sat down before noon. They were out of fried green tomatoes which wa the reason we chose the restaurant. I ordered the French toast bites and potatoes. My kids had chicken and bites. He forgot to bring out the iced coffee. Apologized and said it was on the house. Just for it to still be on the bill. I couldn't finish my food as my stomach was hurting instantly after a few bites.

Matt B.

Yelp
The menu looks and sounds great, but the execution is not there. Very pricy for what was served. The peach stuffed French toast was probably the biggest disappointment. It was stuffed with one peach slice per half. No other filling. The benedicts unfortunately had over cooked eggs. The shrimp had poop veins as well. The pork Benedict was the best by far. The biscuits were very dense and doughy. The coffee was terrible. The condiment situation was not good. Not enough ketchup for the kids meals. No knives for anyone. They forced gratuity on 6 people, so the service lacked and there wasn't a care.

Ashley E.

Yelp
Delicious brunch- the eggs Benedict peace maker was great as you could try two different ones- went with the OG with bacon and tomato and the bayou shrimp with pork Tasso and fried green tomatoes. My brunch mates got the avocado toast and biscuits and gravy and loved both!

Beth K.

Yelp
This place is amazing. You first have to start with the bacon candy. The bananas foster French toast was amazing. The fried green tomatoes on the sandwiches gave an additional crunch that made everything taste great. Our waiter, Kyle did a fantastic job.!!!

Jenna C.

Yelp
Excellent service. The food was scrupulous. Southern charm. The trifecta was well seasoned. Lots of flavor. It took me to flavor town. Delicious blood Mary's. Cinnamon swirl pancake was a must!

Kendra M.

Yelp
Friendly server The seasonal citrus mimosa was refreshing. Heavy on the champagne ;) I did the pick two Benedict. The bayou shrimp was tasty. Shrimp on top of a fried green tomato with whatever sauce. I didn't pay close enough attention to the menu and got the fried green tomato Benedict too. I would pair the bayou shrimp with the bacon or classic Benedict. Up the protein factor. I do love their fried green tomatoes. Having been to ruby slipper in orange beach I know their pancakes are amazing... just wasn't craving sweets this go around.

Roman C.

Yelp
Unfortunately did not have a good experience for our first trip in. We waited an hour for our food to come out. At that point, we just threw it into to-go boxes and left. Several tables around us arrived later and got their food earlier. After 45 min of waiting, I had to flag the server down to ask for an update. 15 min later our food came. Coincidence? Sure seems like we were forgotten/ skipped. Also, the server never checked in or offered refills during the long wait. Just goes to show you can have a nice location and great food, but bad service is a major buzzkill.

Paulene C.

Yelp
Food and service were great. We ordered beignets and they were sooo good. I mean as good as they are in New Orleans. I also enjoyed the biscuits and gravy, although I think the gravy could have used some spice. Additionally, our waiter was super nice and friendly which just made the whole experience fantastic. I definitely recommend stopping by!

Ashley S.

Yelp
Recently visited Ruby Sunshine on a Saturday morning for breakfast before shopping in downtown Franklin. We arrived fairly early around 930 and did not have to wait for a table (party of 2). The meals we got were delicious! Everything was cooked perfectly and the biscuits were nice and warm as if they were fresh out of the oven. This is a popular spot for breakfast so it does get crowded and can be a little loud. Friendly service. Will be back!

Joe S.

Yelp
First time here and an amazing meal. I had the Trifecta of Benedict's and here's the thing. The crispy fried chicken was as good as you'd find at a chicken place; the large shrimp as good as anything you'd find at a seafood place; and the applewood pork as good as anything you'd find at a bbq joint. Biscuits, fried green tomato, and poached eggs were spot in, and the three sauces were beyond the typical hollandaise. Great friendly service as well.

Ashley S.

Yelp
The food was good, especially the fried green tomatoes, but my overall experience was so-so when I realized the paper of an old sugar packet was stuck to the inside of my coffee mug. It was good and I'd go back, but it's not groundbreaking. Clean bathrooms Family-friendly Vegetarian options

Marilyn W.

Yelp
Great service (love places with an online wait list), food was quickly served (thank you Kyle K) and the recommendations were delicious. Hubby had French Toast and I had dual eggs Benny - you can choose two different ones for your order!

Sierra F.

Yelp
Great place! Stopped in for the breakfast tacos and Migas, enjoyed both, hit the spot. Make sure to grab an AWARD winning bloody Mary and I highly highly recommend the Lavendar Paloma, my favorite. Behind the bar Buurbon and Cole were fun and the right amount of chatty.

Steve B.

Yelp
Wow, what a great breakfast. Make sure to get the loaded tot breakfast appetizer. The Tasso cream sauce would be good on a tire!! I had the breakfast tacos with chorizo and they were really good. There assortment of different Benedicts you can order is off the charts! We are here because Biscuit Love was close due to some mechanical issues. Ruby Sunshine is within walking distance and did not disappoint. I now have two favorite places in Franklin. Also, Aspyn did an amazing job of providing service, and she is a really cool aspiring artist with some great music.

Kris A.

Yelp
The dining experience was absolutely incredible - the food was exquisite and the service was impeccable. I'm already eagerly looking forward to my next visit for more of the same!

Joe R.

Yelp
The food was atrocious. My BLT was completely burned and almost inedible. How can you completely burn a BLT and serve it in good conscious? Lol. There were some things that were fine, like the tater tots. Overall, I would never recommend someone pay for this experience. The eggs in other people's meals were inconsistent. Food did not taste seasoned at all. Everyone was pretty shocked at the low quality of the food. Service was friendly, but place felt understaffed.

Schyler D.

Yelp
A lovely cafe experience. The restaurant is bright and cheery inside which fits the name. I got the biscuits and gravy with an additional couple pieces of fried chicken. The chicken was amazingly tender and the breading was perfect in flavor and doneness. The biscuits were so fluffy and awesome. The gravy was overflowing with flavor, and the actual sausage pieces in it were great to have, not everywhere does that. The coffee and eggs were okay.

Cheeritza S.

Yelp
I really enjoyed this spot in New Orleans, so imagine my excitement when I realized they had a location in TN! We came her for brunch & it did not disappoint. I had some type of seafood omelette & a coffee drink from the bar. To be honest, it didn't taste like much alcohol was added - if at all; so skip the spiked coffee drink. Bae liked his white chocolate bread pudding pancakes. Not going to include the pics, because they didn't do the meal any justice. Worth the visit, enjoy!

Karsyn F.

Yelp
I've lived in Franklin for two years and I never tried Ruby sunshine until this weekend when my parents visited and told me someone recommended it... I will say that when Franklin I haven't had a breakfast that I was obsessed with, but Ruby sunshine is hands-down, the best breakfast in Franklin. Pancakes are to die for... biscuits and gravy is amazing. You cannot go wrong here but you will have to check it out. My parents said it is their new favorite place in Franklin when they visit.

Allen C.

Yelp
Really tasty, filling place that exactly meets the mark - brunch w/ friends and/or mimosas to share. Quality of food is excellent - the benedict sampler is awesome and has a really nice variety of flavors and preparations. Fried chicken/waffles are very tasty and well made, doing Nashville proud. Service is excellent. Upbeat staff w/ fast and attentive interactions. Great experience. Decor is fun and mimosa-brunch-inspired. Parking is a little bit more challenging - we had to use one of the public lots outside as this location is in downtown Franklin around the roundabout/circle. We got the mimosa flight each - you know what you're getting yourself into and it's exactly as you expect. Great variety and a good proportion of bubbly/juice.

Lisa T.

Yelp
Picked this spot for brunch based on Yelp reviews. We ate brunch sitting on a comfy bar stool with Cole as our server. Food and brunch cocktails did not disappoint!! Give it a try! It's bright and cheerful and a great place to start your day.

Kerry J.

Yelp
Visiting Franklin this week had an amazing brunch here! The menu has some really unique dishes like the Chicken St. Charles Benedict and the French Toast bites we ordered for the table, had both and WOW, were they good! My husband had an omelette he was thrilled with! Everything was super fresh and really flavorful. Super location, staff was awesome!! Fun atmosphere! We will be back next trip! Highly recommend!

John S.

Yelp
The service here was excellent! The young woman who waited on us was friendly and outgoing. I had the chicken eggs Benedict as it was her recommendation however, I also did the pork. The chicken was much better.

Jack B.

Yelp
We've been to Ruby on numerous occasions and the biscuits seem to have evened out (they had been inconsistent). Waitress was very helpful on menu selection and friendly. If you're looking for a bright sunny spot to have breakfast with a little New Orleans flair, this is the place. Weekends get very busy and crowded so if you can go during the week you'll be served much quicker. Highly recommend!

Michael A.

Yelp
The staff at the door to the bar was very friendly. The space is open with a lot natural light that brightens up the place along with the vibrant colors on the hanging pictures. I looked up the owner and she was a retired chemist , she was helping out along with her husband. Everyone was very cool

Dustin H.

Yelp
I recently attended a Yelp elite after-hours event at this Ruby Sunshine location. We were treated to brunch food and drink pairings as follows: -Seasonal Beignets w/ Pig Candy Bacon Bites & a Peach Bellini -Fried Green Tomato with Bacon Onion Jam & a Bloody Mary -Sweet Heat Chicken and French Toast Bites & a Morning Margarita -Biscuits and Gravy & a Creamy Vanilla Iced Coffee Every single item was delicious. My favorite of the drinks was the Morning Margarita, but the Bloody Mary was a close second. It's a spicy bloody which some might not like, but I prefer mine that way. The fried green tomato was great--it and the biscuits and gravy must have been particularly good because my spouse doesn't care for either dish and she loved hers here. The French toast bites were perfect--great flavor and texture and they complimented the "sweet heat chicken" (which didn't seem particularly spicy to me but was good nonetheless) perfectly--great sweet and savory dish. As for beignets, this one was a tad on the "doughy" side but great flavor and crispness on the outside made it the best beignet I've had outside of New Orleans. This was my first time in Ruby Sunshine though I've dined at their sister restaurant the Ruby Slipper in New Orleans. Based on my dining experience, I will definitely be back! Did I mention the service? The staff is great. While it's hard not to go with a Benedict of some sorts when at a brunch spot like this, I'll definitely be tempted to when next here; at the very least I know I'll be adding some fried green tomatoes to my tab!

Selena S.

Yelp
I would have liked very much to give a proper review. A day off and we attempted local brunch. There is some construction, but signage directed us. We arrived at 9 am today, no music, no televisions on, no staff to welcome us and definitely no good vibes. We decided to go elsewhere, as we did not want to start our day off in such a sad note:

Gretchen B.

Yelp
We were on a civil war tour and we're dropped off in Franklin, Tennessee to have lunch and explore. Ruby Sunshine was within eye distance and they had outdoor seating so we decided to give it a try. It's mostly breakfast/brunch fare and it was perfect. I talked my husband into sharing the 2 bisquit platter with fried chicken, bacon, and gravy. It was more than enough for 2 people....it was huge. Service was good, the atmosphere sitting outside looking out at the small town was great. Franklin is very historic Civil War town with many many cute boutique shops and other eateries.

Anwesh D.

Yelp
Ruby Sunshine is a fantastic brunch spot in Franklin. I've been here once before this trip and it was phenomenal. This trip didn't live up to last visit but was still outstanding. The service is fast and staff is very friendly. I got the trifecta eggs benedicts. The chicken was amazing and the creole shrimp had a tangy rich flavor, which i liked. The pork benedict was average however. French toast bites were tasty and the syrup accompanying it was tasty. Would recommend this brunch place!!

Pam D.

Yelp
Love them menu, cocktails offered and service. We got every time we are in town. You won't regret the choice

Kristen H.

Yelp
Food is awesome, love their mardi gras specials! Drinks always taste great, especially the irish coffee! Buurbon and Cole are great bartenders! Highly recommend!

Jasmine C.

Yelp
Ehhh we stumbled across this crowded establishment one day while in downtown Franklin. After, seeing numerous people come in and out we were sold on giving them a try. Our wait wasn't too long maybe 30 minutes, which is great during brunch hours on the weekends. I can't say that I was pleased with my meal. The chicken tasted rather burnt and wasn't nothing spectacular about the dish. Especially the French toast bites that seem to be a "favorite." I have always wanted to try this place, but after this experience I'm ok not trying it again. Ruby sunshine is supposed to give NOLA/Cajun/Bayou vibes and it definitely didn't give that with the meals ordered on this day. (Not pictured the two other meals that weren't pleasing for the price) I absolutely love the city of New Orleans' food and atmosphere, but this place did NOT do New Orleans justice. Try it for yourself and hopefully you'll have a better experience.

Holly C.

Yelp
Service was good plus friendly, coffee was amazing and so was the food!! I dug right in and forgot to take a picture

Russell W.

Yelp
The food was stellar, even though I ordered takeout it was still excellent. Portions are immense and could've fed two easily! Great job y'all!

Lacy L.

Yelp
Super cute, amazingly friendly staff, delicious food. I'm just sorry I didn't find them until my last day in town.

Bella C.

Yelp
The service here was very slow. I also got avocado toast and my poached egg was completely cooked through, and not runny at all. When we were paying the waitress also watched the screen so I felt pressured to give a larger tip then I wanted.

J S.

Yelp
Less than average food. Poor and extremely slow service. Mistake made on two entrees. Did not corrected.

Erica L.

Yelp
I just don't get it. This place is always busy but it's absolutely terrible. We gave it a second chance after a horrible first experience which included highlights of 90 mins to get food, wrong orders, stale biscuits and just overall bad food and service. After seeing how busy this place is, we decided to give it one more try. Sat at the bar. Took 10 mins to get acknowledged by the bartender. 45 mins to get food (and we got there before the crowd so it wasn't even that busy). I had the breakfast tacos. The eggs were foamy and really odd tasting, the tortillas are chewy, hard and you could barely eat them. My order was wrong, again. I ordered chorizo and didn't get it. The cold brew coffee could take the paint off your walls. I took one sip of it and didn't drink the rest. You could use it to stain your fence. My grits were cold. Not even luke warm... cold. Rice pudding cold. My other half got an omelette with the driest chicken sausage I've ever seen. 1 hour and 15 mins later, we walked out annoyed and feeling like we completely wasted our calories and money.... Again. Does this place have some magic golden dish that we're just not getting? At this point I doubt it, but it's the only thing I can figure out other than it's just another tourist trap in downtown Franklin. Disappointing. We will never go back.

Madeline S.

Yelp
Ruby Sunshine! I love, love Ruby Sunshine. Right in the heart of downtown Franklin, the aesthetics and ambience inside of this breakfast place are absolutely wonderful, with a lovely vintage feel. The service is amazing and fast; my server was extremely kind and helpful. The food, though, is simply amazing: with very large portions I was happy to take home, and delicious selections. The Biscuit Love was my favorite, and I'll have to go back for more soon.

Patrick K.

Yelp
biscuits & gravy w/ side order of chicken. make sure you get the green tomato!! it worth the taste..

Ruthanne R.

Yelp
So this is an odd one. The staff is GREAT. The presentation of food is REALLY lovely. The taste, however, is just... okay. It wasn't bad! You won't have a bad meal here. But most of the food was juuuust on the side of flavorless, or - as in the French toast bites - extremely dry. The flavored coffee, mind you, is about sixty times Too Flavored, and comes premixed so you can't adjust that, thus... maybe that balances out? Nothing wrong with the place, and we had a good time, but I don't think we'll be back.

Stella R.

Yelp
Terrible Service. Food was awful. When charged extra on my ticket and when i tried to get servers attention, she rolled her eyes, and stormed over to me to had an attitude the whole time. i had already paid and tipped her so there wasn't much i could do after. Do not recommend whatsoever. Also, for two people it was almost $50 and we hardly got any food.
