Tucson’s Best Restaurants and Bars: Where to Eat in the Old Pueblo | Eater Phoenix

"In a town specializing in Sonoran hot dogs, Ruiz stands out with toasted buns and an optimal topping ratio. The slightly sweet bun cradles the toppings for a less-messy bite, while the savory and tangy grilled pepper on the side provides a fiery contrast." - Jackie Tran

Where to Eat in Tucson, Arizona's Desert Jewel | Bon Appétit

"A beloved take on the Sonoran hot dog: bacon-wrapped and piled with diced tomato, raw and grilled onion, pinto beans, mayo, mustard, and green salsa on a slightly sweet bun — notable for a toasted (not steamed) bun and a well-balanced ratio of toppings, often served with a blistered yellow pepper on the side." - ByJackie Tran

Best Sonoran dogs in town! Toasted sweet buns is the topper. I being everyone who visits Tucson here and they all can't get enough.

Outdoor setting… today was a scorcher 100 degrees. The sonoran dog was just okay but pepper was burnt.

Ruiz Hot Dogs Los Chipilones serves up a delightful twist on the classic hot dog with their Sonoran hot dogs. Nestled in a soft bolillo bun, these dogs are a flavor explosion. Topped with a medley of fresh ingredients like diced tomatoes, beans onions, and a drizzle of creamy mayonnaise and mustard. Each bite is a perfect balance of savory and tangy. The fresh toppings keep it light and refreshing. The portion size is generous, making it a great value for the price. Whether you're a hot dog aficionado or just looking for a tasty street food experience, Ruiz's Sonoran hot dogs are a must-try!

Their Sonoran dogs are my favorite! Buns are toasted perfectly and their relish and other toppings are so good! If you don’t have cash you can pay for them with card at the taco shop across the parking lot and bring your receipt over. The tacos there are also really good! Orders always come out fast and their eating area in the trailer is always super clean!

Wasn’t crowded when I went there around 1 on a Thursday. Friendly staff and a great Sonoran dog. I’d eat there again.

This is not my favorite location for Sonoran Hot Dogs. They only have one type of hot dog price 4 dollars. They also have a large selection of drinks from soda to water. When it comes to the hot dog I notice the bacon being burn and the hot dog is smaller compare to other locations in Tucson. I notice the the salsa counter having some cheese on the ice (picture attached). The service was acceptable yet unlikely I be returning.

I found this gem on someone's list of interesting places to eat in Tucson. We love loaded hot dogs, but I had never heard of a Sonoran hot dog before. Once I did, I had to try it. It was the consensus that this is the best in Tucson. It's cash only. Hot dogs are $3.50. The menu has one thing: the hot dog with the toppings listed. Get it fully loaded as recommended. It's a cart with some tables to eat at. It was a damn good hot dog. The bun seemed like Texas toast and was really good. Beans on a hot dog sounded weird, but it worked. I couldn't recommend this hole in the wall more.
