"Ceviche Runas It’s officially hot enough to declare it Ceviche Season (we’re making that a thing), and this Hollywood Peruvian spot makes a version of ceviche we've never seen before. Their signature ceviche Runas features fish and mixed seafood in a perfectly-balanced leche de tigre. That would be enough to make it solid cevichito, but Runas infuses it with smoked aji and then torches the dish so you get this whole fire and ice thing that would be gimmicky if it didn’t actually deliver a lot of flavor. It reminds us of everything we love about ceviche and pollo a la brasa (AKA Peruvian rotisserie chicken) in one cool, refreshing, and spicy bite." - ryan pfeffer, carlos c olaechea
"Runas is a Peruvian restaurant just a block north of Downtown Hollywood. It’s located in a historic building and split between a dark clubstaurant space and an ornate vintage bar that reminds us of a Toulouse Lautrec painting. The food here is some of the best Peruvian food in South Florida. Ceviches and tiraditos are their specialty, and they nail a classic ceviche. But they also make some really unique riffs on the classic, including the ceviche runas, which is infused with smoked ají and torched before arriving at the table. It gives us everything we love about ceviche and pollo a la brasa (AKA Peruvian rotisserie chicken) in one refreshing, spicy bite. They do other Peruvian dishes very well, too. The lomo saltado has tender medium rare chunks of sirloin, a non-traditional touch that works great. They make a proper tacu tacu that you can get as the base for their saltado or smothered in picante de mariscos, a creamy and spicy seafood sauce. You can also come here just to drink. The bar has spirits imported from Peru, like different piscos and Peruvian craft beer." - Carlos C Olaechea
"Tony Dominguez and Gerardo Landa celebrate the best of food, libations, and entertainment of their native Peru at this vibrant destination. The menu is a blend of fine dining staples and street-food culture specialties like anticuchos de corazon (beef heart skewers), chupe de camarones (Peruvian-style shrimp stew), and tiraditos (sashimi-style slices in coal-smoked Peruvian yellow pepper sauce). Make sure to order one of the strong, refreshing Pisco Sour cocktails to go with the meal." - Juliana Accioly, Carlos Olaechea
