Rye Goods is a charming Newport Beach bakery known for its artisan sourdoughs, delicious pastries, and a cozy vibe perfect for indulging in quality carbs.
"Rye Goods is where to go when you want a bagel sandwich that weighs as much as a small dumbbell. This organic all-sourdough bakery has a few locations across Orange County, but this outpost in Lido Marina Village is a great daytime stop during shopping trips. There’s enough on the menu for a filling breakfast, whether you want flaky morning buns dusted in sugar, or the egg bagel “sammy” with perfectly jammy eggs, crisp smashed potatoes, and whipped chive cream cheese. There’s also a full lineup of coffee drinks that you can sip on the small back patio." - Cathy Park
"An 18-year-old sourdough culture called Winona Ryeder helped head baker Sara Lezama launch her business, and the love of the craft just comes through in the baked goods. Today Rye Goods touts heritage milled grains and wild yeast, but don’t sleep on the savory brie and caramelized onion croissants or the bagels, which also come as sandwiches." - Jenn Tanaka
"Rye Goods is opening two new locations in Tustin and Laguna Beach, with the first opening on November 5 and the second on December 3. The original location at Lido Marina Village in Newport Beach continues its operations." - Cathy Chaplin
"There are few things as appealing as a warm tray of cinnamon rolls on a cold winter morning, even in sunny Los Angeles. Instead of putting in the work to roll the dough myself last week, I snagged a box from Rye Goods in Costa Mesa. The company has been operating at the fringes of the underground for some time — a rare thing in Orange County; most of the less-than-legal food operations cook out of much more dense (and generally more welcoming) Los Angeles. But these days Rye Goods is selling out from its very own storefront, a long baking space at tony Lido Marina Village in Newport Beach. That means more cookies, more sourdough, and (yes) a lot more cinnamon rolls for all. —Farley Elliott" - Eater Staff
"Rye Goods started as a food truck and home bakery in a Costa Mesa garage and has now opened a new space at Lido Marina Village, Newport Beach. The bakery features a hand-written menu on paper scrolls, floured bannetons, and a minimalist design. Despite initial challenges, the move has been successful with long lines of customers every morning. The bakery emphasizes sourcing and sustainability while operating in a high-end development." - Farley Elliott
