Plant-based ramen & rice bowls with unique truffle & sesame flavors

"Vegan Japanese restaurant Red White features several styles of ramen, such as the Yuzu Sesame with vegan meat and tofu, corn, onion, and arugula. Aside from ramen, you’ll find a rice bowl with black rice and avocado and a few sides, including spicy mac and beets." - Nathan Tavares

"A concise, fully vegan fast-casual restaurant has opened on Newbury Street at 294 Newbury St., offering bowls built on a grain-and-greens base plus smoothies and green teas; the spot comes from Japanese restaurateur Toc Kobayashi, who has been focusing on developing Japanese restaurants in the U.S." - Eater Staff

"Usually, the secret to ramen’s rich and deep flavor is bone broth. The vegan offerings at this Newbury spot are still slurp-able, though they skip on the meat products. Check out the different bowls that feature vegan and tofu with numerous guest stars, like curry and truffle oil. The no 8. red hot miso packs a kick, with a hefty dose of chili oil and chili powder to warm those chilly evenings." - Nathan Tavares
"It’s hard to know what to think of the vegan menu the first time you step into Red White. Despite there being only a few options to choose from at this fast-casual spot, the menu layout can make things a little confusing. We’ll just make it easy for you - order the Masterpiece ramen, and add the miso-seasoned avocado. The noodles have the right amount of bite, and the broth is satisfyingly rich and flavorful, especially when you consider there’s no meat in it. Better yet, there’s never a line here, unlike at nearby Santouka." - joel ang, dan secatore
"When a restaurant uses the word “vegan” in its name, you kind of expect it to feature all sorts of plant-based stuff that may or may not actually work as substitutes for pulled pork. That’s not the case at Red White Japanese Vegan, though. This fast-casual Newbury Street spot doesn’t try any tofu alchemy to make fake cheese, it just has a small menu of rice and noodle bowls that happen to be vegan. And more importantly, they’re also good. They only have about five or six bowls and you can make your own if you want, but leave it up to the pros when you go the first time - order the masterpiece and definitely add the miso avocado." - dan secatore
