THERE WAS A HAIR IN MY PASTA
So let me start off by saying I went back and fourth with even wanting to write this review because I feel as though writing a review (especially a negative one) takes too much energy. My husband and I came here last Wednesday (first timers but live locally) and were excited to try it. The bartender didn't really acknowledge us much-but we just assumed she was busy so we didn't think much of it because in the moment when we arrived, it was busy. We ordered food and there was a hair in my pasta, usually I can get over something like that, but I think because I already had an upset stomach from an exam I took that evening and I was waiting for my professor to post my grade, I just couldn't get over the hair. I told the bartender and even apologized while letting her know, because I felt bad even having to tell her I found a hair in my pasta. She then apologized and took it back, and I was able to order a different pasta with her. 45 minutes later and the pasta never came out& bartender never came back after taking my order, never acknowledged us or gave us an update on the pasta (and by this time the bar had cleared out and the restaurant was no longer busy as opposed to when we first came in, so really there wasn't even an excuse anymore for her unattentiveness especially to customers who found a hair in their pasta)
So after 45 minutes with still no pasta or update on why we have no pasta, we kindly asked to close out. And the bartender just simply said "okay no problem" no regard to the fact that our food never came out, no apology, no acknowledgement whatsoever it was so bizarre. Like we found a hair in my pasta, and you would think they would prioritize bringing out my meal, or at least-bare minimum-give me an update on why it's taking so long and apologize. Even my husband, who never complains and is the sweetest man ever even spoke to the manager (he would never do such a thing) which is how you know this treatment was unacceptable-but I digress, the manager did apologize & said he was unaware about the whole situation and offered to give us something to go (which we did not accept, but I suppose was nice of him to offer) the bartender made the whole experience such a disappointment which was unfortunate because we live so close and we were really excited to try it. Her behavior towards us was just so strange and bizarre and emotionless. Just so odd because we were kind the whole time. We even tipped her generously (which she did not deserve but instead of bringing ourselves down to her level, we decided to be generous) because why not just choose
kindness?
Also unrelated but I went to Yard house in ridge hill a few days later with just my kids & no hubby-I couldn't believe it. The service was top notch and I was just in shock that I got better service & treatment at a Yard house then I did at a cute little Italian restaurant 😂😅 mind blowing.
Also another side note, in case my review seems like I'm nitpicking about service-my husband and I are pleasures and not complicated or rude. it may seem as though I am being harsh on service but in no way did I reflect this in person. We were so kind to our bartender and to the manager even when we expressed our distaste for the service. Trust me it took a lot for me to even write this review because I do not have the energy for negativity but this service was just a little mind blowing to me that I almost felt obligated to share it with others 😫
