A La Minute has earned acclaim from the Los Angeles Times and the Inland Empire Weekly for its innovative approach: each scoop is made to order with liquid nitrogen, resulting in an ultra-creamy texture and vibrant flavor. The shop partners with local farms for ingredients and rotates creative options like lavender honey and espresso chip. Its modern, open kitchen invites guests to watch the ice cream magic happen, making every visit a memorable (and delicious) event. This is the spot for ice cream aficionados eager for something extraordinary.

Ever since I lived in the area over 10 years ago I’ve loved à la minute’s nitrogen ice cream and am sad that their other locations Orange and Temecula have closed. This is the last remaining location and I stopped by during a road trip. Husband and I got the avocado honey and Brown Butter Chocolate Caramel. Both flavors were delicious. The avocado ice cream actually tastes like fresh avocado (and not frozen avocado) and is soooo smooth. The brown butter chocolate caramel has delightful hard caramel toffee bits and gives a nice texture. This is the smoothest dense ice cream ever! My previous favorite was the orange honey flavor, but the orange flavor and orange pulp bits aren’t as prominent anymore so it’s been demoted.

Google
Their flavors are amazing. I can choose this place over every other ice creams I’ve ever had! Their avocado and vanilla are perfect! They have specific topping for each ice cream that works perfectly together. We stopped by on our way back to LA from camping. We will definitely stop by next time for other flavors.

Google
accidentally found this ice cream shop located at a super cute neighborhood, even have an alley nearby with nice decorations we got the orange honey usually a 2 scoops cup is too much for us but this flavor, we can eat a whole pint the taste is rly refreshing probably the top 3 ice cream we ever had will definitely be back

Google
Well known handmade fresh Ice cream super yummy with great flavors. Seating inside the hallway. Perfect side window view of all the action. Great family time!

Google
Edit: their vegan options seem to come and go. There was a couple month stretch where there were no vegan options. I had the vegan salted caramel—it blew my mind. I’ve never had such creamy, flavorful vegan ice cream before (granted most of what I’ve tried has been store-bought). They have two other vegan ice creams which I plan to try in the future.

Tejung Gloria L.

Google
You can’t get two different flavors in the same bowl cuz they make them individually I tried the strawberry balsamic, tho it was a little sweeter for me, it’s still pretty good and I like the texture!

Google
Great ice cream haven’t had this level quality ever tastes better then other ice creams I’ve had. I got the avocado vanilla with honey top. It can get sticky (it’s honey). Small amount of seating but able to walk outside most of the year.

Google
Had the chocolate lavender and it was amazing. Perfect consistency, flavor of chocolate and light breathy lavender. Pro-tip go later in the day if you want to try flavors

Yelp
á la minute has the best ice cream in the IE I refuse to eat ice cream anywhere else lol i've been getting ice cream from here for the past 12 years, and they're still amazing. We drive from Riverside to come get their ice cream. The wait can be hit or miss, but even if there's a line out the door, it's still worth the wait. My top ice creams are: 1) chocolate lavender 2) vanilla bean w/ olive oil 3) espresso chip 4) strawberry balsamic There a lots of more options but those are my favs; i'm sure everything on the menu is yummy here!!
google avatar

Yelp
similar to salt and straw vibes but more affordable. flavors were a bit adventurous for my liking, but yummy nonetheless ordered: salted caramel. tasted like toasted caramel, and delicious for first few bites, but got v salty. i've had creamier ice cream, but this isn't bad service was great, can ask for sampling, and vibes are beautiful decorated like a little vintage shop
google avatar

Yelp
Super cute ice cream shop in downtown Redlands. They'll only drawback is that it is incredibly small inside so you will likely need to stand outside or find somewhere else to sit and enjoy your ice cream. They have some amazing flavors. They have salted caramel to espresso chip to lavender chocolate to orange blossom to strawberry. There are definitely options here for everyone. I got the espresso chip and it smelled so good. It literally smelled like espresso in a cup. The ice cream itself was so fresh, creamy and just delightful. Definitely worth checking out if you haven't been here before. Has definitely become one of my favorite ice cream shops in town. Will be bringing more friends and family here when in the area. Will be back!

Yelp
I can see why this is a busy spot compared to other ice cream spots in the area. What's very convenient is that the parking lot is just across the street so you don't have to keep looping around for street parking. This place is really tiny so not much seating space. Luckily there's plenty of seating around the area, just circle around the block a bit. People here were very nice and let us taste a few flavors. Once I tasted the vanilla bean olive oil... that was game for me. It was super smooth, not too sweet, and they even drizzle olive oil on top.

Yelp
This ice cream shop is super cute. I was next door at a Yelp Elite event at Batter Rebellion (also sooo good), and saw this place so I had to pop in. There's a pride flag and Black Lives Matter sign hanging up on their walls so I immediately knew they were a vibe! It's small and cozy inside. Not really a place to sit and chill but good to grab a quick ice cream. The person behind the counter was very nice and friendly. They advised that they were able to offer samples but limited to 2 per person. That was plenty enough to figure out what I wanted. I went for the brown butter chocolate flavor. The texture of the ice cream was super rich and creamy...not icey. I loved it! Their nitrogen process makes it so that the consistency is just perfect. The chocolate was decadent. So delish! I wanna go back and try more from this place!

Yelp
Each scoop is handmade to order so expect to wait a bit for quality! Very bougie but won't break your wallet. I really appreciate that because we all deserve nice things!

Yelp
I'm so glad that after all these years, à la minute is still as good as ever. I had first discovered à la minute back when nitrogen ice cream had first started becoming a trend or fad but always stuck to à la minute because of the unique and creative flavors that always delivered. I recently had the chance to stop by while in the area, and coming back after all these years felt like revisiting an old friend. I'm happy to say the experience was just as memorable as I remembered and I was not disappointed! I love how consistent it's been despite all this time having passed. The flavors are rich without being overwhelming, and creative without losing the comfort factor. I'm still pretty bummed the other locations closed and glad to see that the Redlands location is here to stay and will always be a stop when in the vicinity. If you're in Redlands and want something that feels both artisanal and approachable, this is a must‑visit. Dare I say my favorite ice cream shop? Anyways already looking forward to my next time back!

Yelp
Soo no one wasn't going to tell me about this little gem!! Walked in and the employees were honestly the best!!! Great customer service. They do have a variety of different selections which I totally love. But not to the point where you don't know, more on they are all so good. The strawberry, avocado, and salted Carmel are my top 3. They do have little barrels you could sit on but limited seating. Pricing is pretty decent. But if you're going to get a cone pls don't get the mini serving, you'll have more cone than ice cream. Haha
google avatar

Katrina N.

Yelp
Whenever I'm in Redlands, I just have to stop here. This place does not disappoint. It wasn't busy at all when I went. I ordered the chocolate lavender with cacao nibs. Didn't really taste the lavender but that's okay cos I love chocolate. The cacao nibs were kind of stuck together. Overall, this is a place to. Heck out if you're ever in Redlands.
google avatar

Vivan T.

Yelp
My kids took me here. As an older Asian woman, I am impressed this American ice cream shop can get such nice strong fresh avocado flavor into the ice cream. It was nice and not too sweet. Better than other ice creams I've had.
google avatar

Sara B.

Yelp
The ice cream here is so fresh and creamy. I love salted Caramel and to have it vegan, that was an amazing treat! The service was quick and everyone was so nice! There's not a lot of places to sit by the shop but we found some table across the street in a covered patio area to enjoy our ice cream!
google avatar

Sweetwater M.

Yelp
We have stopped by A la Minute a couple times now while we have been in the area. We were not disappointed! Employees were friendly and answered our questions during our first visit. Their ice cream is perfect! The honey orange blossom was delicious!! I'm a fan of anything lemon and their lemon custard was perfect! The shop is in a cute little spot. It's nice. Only downside is when it's a busy time you're either squished in or you wait outside the door.
google avatar

Michelle T.

Yelp
Such a cute lil ice cream stop. Made to order. They make the waffle cone right there as well. I got the mint n chip and it was perfect.
google avatar

Kendell B.

Yelp
The best ice cream in all of Redlands! Service is always friendly no matter how busy they get. Recently, they put in double doors, and that has helped a ton in terms of it being claustrophobic. All the flavors are awesome, though, on a hot day I have been enjoying the lemon custard with the strawberry compote on top. If you're in the area, go check it out!
google avatar

Tina H.

Yelp
A la minute used to be amazing because they'd literally make the ice cream fresh right in front of you. Most of the employees were friendly and welcoming but a few did have altitude. The place is small and we'll maintained. The ice cream is delicious but the only reason we were willing to pay so much for ice cream is because we got to see it being handmade. Unfortunately they don't do this anymore. So we stopped coming.
google avatar

Maya N.

Yelp
The brown butter flavor was super yummy! Loved the bits of toffee. It was expensive of course, as ice cream parlors usually are, but it was worth it as a fun social treat with a friend. It's a nice shop but a little dark on the inside. I would love if there was seating, so you don't have to eat it in the car. The area didn't feel super safe so I don't recommend standing around outside eating especially at night. I also find it a little strange that you can't get different flavors if you get multiple scoops. The employee explained it as them making it to order so you can only get one flavor per cup, but that didn't really make sense to me. You can sample the flavors so if they're made to order I don't understand how you can try samples..? Either way, it feels standard to let you mix and match flavors, and without that option I don't have reason to ever get anything but the smallest cup, personally.
google avatar

Yelp
wow... I legit go everyday and I'm not even exaggerating! if I don't go in then I buy a pint and eat it at home.. I'm so serious this is the best place ever, the ice cream feels so light and I introduce everyone I know to this place. It's my favorite snack, sweet treat, and dessert. I love it so much! Especially the different variations of flavors :) i ALSO love the little spoons, I have an obsession with using little spoons for icecream it's the perfect amount to eat at a time... it's my favorite
google avatar

Yelp
I've had this place bookmarked for the longest time since college and now finally got to try it! We walked in and it honestly immediately smelled funky lol. I remain to be hopeful and that the ice cream is still good, so I went ahead to order. I ordered a mini chocolate lavender, and it was actually pretty good! The consistency is nice and thick, tastes rich, and the lavender was quite fragrant. I liked how they added honey on the spoon too, so it makes each bite even a bit more sweeter. Although I didn't really like the cocoa nibs(?) they added on top. It was too bitter and hard to eat it with the ice cream. Overall, it was good! Nice to try and the service was quick and efficient as well.

Yelp
Freakin' heaven in your mouth -- and I mean that now more than ever. I'm not sure why I only gave A La Minute 4 stars before?...but consider that mistake officially corrected. This place has been a longtime favorite, and it just keeps getting better. Their Olive Oil Vanilla Bean is pure silk -- smooth, lightly fragrant, and savory in the best way. And the Avocado? My absolute ride-or-die flavor. It's creamy, delicate, and somehow feels luxurious without being heavy. I literally had it on my birthday this year, and it was perfection -- like a gift to myself that didn't need wrapping. There's just something magical about watching your ice cream being made right in front of you -- the mist, the whir of the liquid nitrogen, the anticipation. It's still that same homemade, farm-churned freshness I fell in love with years ago. Redlands is lucky to have this little gem. Five stars, forever and always.
google avatar

Apple G.

Yelp
Quaint little hole in the wall nitrogen infused ice cream. No indoor seating or restroom. Despite the menu showing various scoop sizes, you get one flavor per size since each one is hand mixed. There are 3 vegan flavors, but hubby opted for fresh mint chip for more flair. Flavor was great and the chocolate specs were some of the best I've ever tasted at an ice cream shop! I wish they weren't out of cones and had the option of more flavors in bigger sizes. Not a lot of room inside so best to order then step out while you wait. Definitely worth stopping by if you're in the area, they're across from City Hall.
google avatar

Yelp
Our favorite ice cream spot in downtown Redlands! It's a short walk from the new Redlands public market!

Yelp
AMBIANCE IS SO CUTE, awesome sauce lgbtq+ flag and black lives matter flag! Love to see businesses actively advocating on current social and political issues so first impressions were already really positive. The store is so cute and all the decor and furniture and whatnot were so cutely themed. I ordered the orange honey with my friend and it tasted so creamy and nice and fresh! Literally tasted like its name (go figure). Services was nice as well!

Yelp
ten years later and still the same amazing quality, still the same cow on the wall.. despite me being ten years later and cannot tolerate dairy. i shared an orange sorbeto with my daughter. it was refreshing and light. just the right amount of sweetness. if you've ever been to Sóller on the island of Mallorca, this was reminiscent of my recent visit there. in the same way that Redlands is known for their history of orange groves, so is the same with Sóller! all the gelato stores have orange sorbetto, and i hadn't had another one since then. the best thing about this scoop of orange sorbet is its simplicity. no added artificial colors or flavors.. why mess with nature's best? à la minute gets it! i hope to be back in another 10 years to enjoy this again!!

Yelp
Our favorite ice cream spot of a la time. It's tiny and crowded, but it's 100% worth it to take your time and get the best ice cream you've probably ever had. We've tried every flavor, and haven't been disappointed. They have a great rewards program and also are very easy to work with when we needed a large quantity order of pints for a corporate event. My personal favorites: 1. Sea Salt Caramel -- it's simply perfect 2. Lemon Custard (with a strawberry compote) -- after a meal when you need something lighter 3. Vanilla -- when you just need something familiar If you aren't familiar with the area, here are a few other places to hit up that are all a short walk away: 1. Finney's Crafthouse for an amazing pizza, burger or brew 2. The State for amazing poutine, tacos, burgers, cocktails & more 3. Board Game Paradise for a great selection of board & card games 4. The Frugal Frigate is beautiful little children's bookstore 5. A Shop Called Quest has some great comics and far too many funko pops Pro-tip: look for all three Waldo's in the store!
google avatar

Brian K.

Yelp
Waiting for the District to open we decided to get ice cream next door. Nice people working there, but the wait was incredibly long. I get it... each scoop has to be singularly prepared, but really long wait and a packed little place. Definitely started to get hot with a bunch of people waiting. We also thought the flavors were ok but not the best we've had. For reference we got the strawberry balsamic and espresso chip. We also got the waffle cone which was more pancake in texture. Kind of soft and a little less sweet than we like in a cone.

Yelp
CREAMY HANDCRAFTED NITRO ICE CREAM! Hot damn this was amazing, I was looking for a sweet treat after an event at the Redlands Bowl and saw that this place was literally down the street on Citrus by the Redlands Underground! I saw the major line outside after 10pm and was reluctant but I had intent. Yes, I traversed the pot-infested, seedy underground just to get a specialty ice cream and I'm so happy I did after walking through the nightmare and long line. I got a large (3 scoops) Brown Butter Chocolate Caramel ice cream cup, it was delicious! I'm a huge toffee fan, this ice cream scratched that itch and more! The nitro specialty ice cream has the right texture and it didn't melt easily, it was perfect! The staff was super nice, the girl at the register answered my questions and was friendly despite the busy environment! Á la minute's staff knows how to work under pressure and they were very professional! Some of the patrons were ogres and the staff still treated them kindly. I do not recommend coming here after 8pm as there's a lot of smoking and vaping going on outside and nearby. The patrons were very shady, I wouldn't bring kids late at night. I found á la minute to be very warm and inviting, it has a cool atmosphere but not so trendy that it makes you cringe. Prices are a bit higher but come on, we're talking quality ice cream here. The ice cream joint is also very inclusive, LOVE THEM! Oh and I posted ice cream prices in my pics below if you're interested! Tip: Come EARLIER in the day to avoid the gangbanger patrons and shady folks.

Yelp
Going to keep my review short and sweet. Best ice cream i've ever had in my life. i've tried about 5 different flavors now, and they're all great. Im on a fun goal to try them all
google avatar

Kellie F.

Yelp
Stopped in really wanting ice cream and recognizing this place for when they used to have a spot in old town Orange. We were slightly greeted when we walked in, but it felt kind of awkward while we were looking at the menu. I went with the salted caramel, and my mom went with the espresso. We both ordered the small or mini. My ice cream came out almost immediately while my mom's was a couple orders behind me for some reason. I figured maybe I had ordered a flavor that was already in the process of being made. The inside the store has maybe one or two seats. And the outside of the store has absolutely none. My mom and I had to walk around most of downtown to find somewhere to sit since most restaurants claim their little tables outside. Our ice cream was good. It melted very fast and it wasn't even a very warm day. My ice cream had an overbearing aftertaste of milk. And I get it, ice cream is made from milk, but it was just something that I couldn't kick.

Yelp
Ice cream is excellent-and their paper "cone" holder needs to be redesigned-it leaked ice cream all over my outfit and pants-huge mess-
google avatar

Marcus A.

Yelp
Ala minute is one of my favorite ice cream places hands down! When it first opened I thought it was interesting concept of freezing ice cream on the spot. This is a local's favorite with how they use fresh ingredients from local farms and even the chocolate taste different. They have a lot of flavors that they get inspired from their local flavors and one of my personal favorites is the chocolate lavender. It has cacao nibs with a slight lavender honey that bring in a refreshing taste to your palette. 10/10
google avatar

Angela N.

Yelp
Delicious nitro ice cream! Well worth the line out the door. The Brown Butter Chocolate Caramel flavor is so good. The ice cream itself was lighter than expected but I enjoyed it. The cocoa nib toffee on top added a nice crunch to each bite.
google avatar

Timothy L.

Yelp
If you love sour, the lemon custard is for you! The strawberry compote adds a bit of sweetness and works well with the taste combination. The large size gives a generous portion and is worth the wait! I can see why there's a line out the door and the service is fast. The inside is also very nice with good music!
google avatar

Yelp
Flash frozen ice cream never gets old. I love this gem in town. They have local inspired flavors. I particularly love their avocado and salted caramel ice cream.

Yelp
Really disappointed with how this business is choosing to handle a mistake that their employee made. I usually stop at A La Minute 2-3 times per year when i visit big bear. I went in and ordered 4 pints to go (3 Chocolate Chip and 1 strawberry balsamic) and 4 cups that we ate there. Took the ice cream home and discovered a week later that they gave me the wrong flavor for one of the chocolate chip pints (gave me chocolate lavender instead). Bummer as I love their Chocolate Chip and bought pints because I live 1.5 hours away from here. I thought fine, maybe I'll like the chocolate lavender, but no, I didn't like the lavender taste. Put it aside and called A La Minute a week later to let them know and see if I could get the mistake rectified the next time I'm there. I spoke with someone there and their only resolution was to ask me bring the pint back and they could exchange it for the right one since it "had been over 2 weeks so there's nothing he could do". They're asking me to drive a $12 pint of ice cream 1.5 hours away just because they're a "small business and can't afford to just give ice cream away" and that I "should have checked that I got the right ice cream" like it was my fault and I shouldn't trust their workers to pick and pack the right flavor. Now keep in mind I'm asking to just get what I paid for. A simple sorry we'll get you the right flavor next time you're in town would have fixed the issue and I would have continued to be a raving fan and lifelong customer. Now I'm sitting here writing this 1 star review instead of recommending à la minute to everyone I know. I've been an à la minute fan since they had an Orange location and looked forward visiting Redlands every year since all of their other locations have since closed. Too bad this person I spoke with didn't "need me to tell him how to run his business" because if this is how customers are treated for a mistake that an employee made then that explains why there's only one location now. TLDR: great ice cream but shitty ownership. Do better à la minute.
google avatar

Camille B.

Yelp
I have a type. It's à la minute Fall specials. They are always well balanced flavors worth driving to get. On today's visit, there was somehow no line... Yet. My punishment is having to smell freshly made waffle cones without getting one.
google avatar

Shirley B.

Yelp
Food: alright tis time to finally leave a review here after coming for the 100th time in the last 3 years. What can I say, I just keep coming back again and again despite downtown redlands having 2 other icecream places not too far from here, those pale in comparison. My bf's favorite is chocolate lavender, but my personal favorite is strawberry balsamic. The tart balsamic sauce on top really complements the sweet strawberry flavor icecream underneath and the two in combination are simply magical. If I lived walking distance from this store, I'd already be diabetic from eating this everyday Price: my go to size is regular, which is $6, no complaints here! Ambiance: small space that can only fit like 10 people inside, and it can get crowded since it is the best icecream place in all of IE. Hipster vibes, displays cool artworks on the qall that you can purchase, no seating, only grab and go. I've done plenty of dates where we grab the icecream, then go walk around the downtown area up and down, very cute and romantic Service: nice friendly people who also look cool and hipster, they always seem to be having a good time making delicious icecream Parking: it's downtown redlands, there's street parking, but you can always park inside the public parking structure across from martha green's eating room
google avatar

Samantha G.

Yelp
Must-visit for ice cream lovers who want something special. Super fresh, made‑to‑order ice cream with creative flavors; cozy, vintage décor; friendly, engaging staff. Pricy for a scoop and limited seating means it gets crowded fast--so maybe avoid peak times.

I love the fast efficient service and I love how my ice cream always taste great and made fresh to Order my all time favorite is strawberry balsamic a must try !!!! I do the large and my friend Maria loves the same with a cone !! Any time Of weather is great time for a la minute ice cream thank you

Yelp
À La Minute is a small ice cream shop located in Downtown Redlands. The shop has a vintage style, with lots of art. There's minimal seating and it's hard to find parking. The restroom is the next building over. They have lots of unique flavors and the ice cream is made with liquid nitrogen. It's fun to watch them make it. Service was great; there was a large group but the ice cream came out really fast. Overall, ambiance and service was great. Ice Cream We ordered the salted caramel, the chocolate chip, and the vanilla olive oil. All the ice cream is very thick and creamy and all the flavors have a natural taste. The small size was $6 and is a great portion for price and effort to make. The salted caramel was sweet and the salt gave it a nice balance to its sweetness. The chocolate chip had an earthy chocolate flavor that went well with the cream base. The vanilla olive oil was slightly sweet and savory and a great choice if you don't enjoy super sweet things. Overall, I highly recommend trying them out if you're in the area; my absolute favorite ice cream shop. Overall: 5 The ambiance + service: 5/5 The ice cream: 5/5 The price: $$

Mimi Y.

Yelp
My favorite ice cream quite possibly ever. You have to try their strawberry balsamic - I always get that one! Honey orange is also good. The ice cream here is made with liquid nitrogen, so it takes a while to be made but it's worth waiting.
google avatar

Tyler G.

Yelp
Always an amazing experience here. The employees are nice, welcoming, and helpful. All the flavors are amazing. I always get chocolate lavender or mint n chip and it never disappoints. Solid place that has built great memories with my friends and family. Only con would be the long lines, but it is worth it! Out of all the ice cream places in redlands, I recommend this

Julian R.

Yelp
The best ice cream in Redlands! Perfectly sized portions with tons of flavors and toppings. The service is top tier every single time with the sweetest cashiers and timely service between ordering. Even with a line of customers around the block, the workers are so kind and impressionable! The energy inside is positive, lively and friendly. Definitely give it a try.
google avatar

Priscila B.

Yelp
Great ice cream but it's too sprinkled with political views... it doesn't make me want to come back
google avatar

Alyssa W.

Yelp
Finally came back for my favorite ice cream place! The place is tiny but cute. Parking is still a little challenging. However, service is fast. Expresso chips, fresh mint chips and salt caramel are the best! You can only get one favorite at the time. The waffle cone is solid but a little too sweet.
google avatar

Linh N.

Yelp
Each ice cream is made to order so expect a wait for your sweet treat. I like how unique the flavor options are. You can't find these combos elsewhere. I do wish they could somehow let you sample the flavors or let you get multiple flavor options. It's a small store so there's not much seating inside. What we ordered: - Brown butter chocolate caramel: I loved the light chocolate taste. It almost tasted like frozen hot chocolate. The cocoa nib toffee pieces elevated it. - Orange honey: Super refreshing and unique combo. The orange was citrusy but not overpowering.

Yelp
we were craving a sweet treat after dinner so we pulled up to a la minute! got the avocado flavor because i wanted to reminisce the time i had a homemade icy vietnamese avocado condensed milk jelly dessert. this certainly was not what i was envisioning but it 100% satisfied my sweet toof nonetheless. also the honey drizzle was so satisfying so i'll give an extra star for that.

Yelp
Creamy, sweet, and natural tasting ice cream. A la minute provides an amazing experience by having flavors that taste very natural yet super tasty. This ice cream is worth it! They have vegan options! The service was fast even while busy! It is a small shop in downtown Redlands, there is minimal indoor seating but various spaces to stroll around and eat your ice cream. Yelp
CHOCOLATE. LAVENDER. I crave this all the time. Staff is very friendly, the shop itself is tiny so hopefully you don't wait in line for too long. Flavors are so unique and they add a little treat on top of your scoop that compliments the flavor. Don't waste any time reading more reviews & GO!
