"Wm. Mulherin’s looks like it belongs in the Catskills, but the music and crowd are the opposite of serene. Ear-popping volume aside, the part-boutique hotel, part-restaurant has big round tables, a fireplace, and a near-infinite number of Italian dishes that are worth grabbing. Stick to pasta, especially the pappardelle. It’s made with savory duck ragu that gets a touch of sweet bitterness from the chocolate mixed in. They also have decent Neapolitan pizzas, like the double margarita pie topped with mozzarella and burrata that you should order or use as ear muffs, your call." - candis mclean, alison kessler

"Housed in a former whiskey distillery, this Italian eatery and boutique hotel reads as a one-of-a-kind retreat that carefully balances old charm with modern design; its four suites are furnished with custom-made pieces that play up exposed brick walls, patterned wallpaper, and vintage accents." - Eliseé Browchuk, Ariel Okin
"Wm. Mulherin's has two outdoor areas you should seek out. The first is the lineup of tables on the sidewalk directly outside of the restaurant. The second is their corner garden— it's surrounded by trees and happens to be one of our favorite Fishtown spots to sit and drink when we want livelier scene. With long picnic tables and a massive umbrellas for some shade, you’ll have plenty of space to spread out and fill your table with dishes like tuna crudo, braised beef agnolotti, and thin-crust pizza topped with pepperoni, caciocavallo, sharp provolone, and long hots (The Spicy Jawn). Come hungry, order a lot, and pick something from their excellent wine list that’s exclusively made up of bottles from Italy." - candis mclean
"Wm. Mulherin's Sons feels like a lodge in the Catskills was picked up by a tornado and landed in Fishtown. There are cozy brown leather booths in every corner, a huge wooden bar that’s perfect for pre-date drinks, and a fireplace that looks like it’s from the set of the “most interesting man in the world” commercials. Essentially, a meal at the Italian restaurant feels like you’ve been wrapped in a velvet robe while being fed wood-fired pizzas, char-grilled calamari, and creamy ricotta cavatelli." - candis mclean

"This charming Fishtown restaurant has garnered a reputation for serving wood-fired Italian cuisine in a restored century-old former whiskey facility. Expect imaginative, imaginative seasonal pizza options (such as their Al Funghi served with mushrooms, scarmorza, caramelized onions, bufala mozz, roasted garlic, and aged balsamic) and bold pasta servings (like the duck egg raviolo that’s a love letter to ricotta and truffle" - Maddy Sweitzer-Lamme
