The 14 Best Restaurants in Carrollton | Eater Dallas

"Traditional Cuban dishes like ropa vieja (shredded beef) and pan con lechon (roast pork sandwich) are favorites, alongside notable specialty items, such as the tostone burger (a choice of chicken or steak burger between two crispy plantain discs instead of bread buns). And the cocktails, from the La Cubanita Espresso Martini to los mojitos, that use natural tropical fruit juices like guanabana (soursop), maracuya (passion fruit), and coconut are great for kicking off any celebration." - Didi Paterno

Pictures don’t do the food justice. If you’re looking for good authentic Cuban food in Dallas, this is the place to visit. The service is on point, the food is served hot and delicious, and the prices are reasonable. I came in with a cold and the chicken noodle soup immediately revived me ( not pictured bc I devoured it). At 5pm they do live music that’s worth checking out. Overall, I highly recommend coming here for a good, hearty, Hispanic meal.

Had a great experience at Cuba Bella Cafe with family to celebrate my birthday. I chose this restaurant because we had been before and enjoyed the food so much. I’ve been wanting to return. It did not disappoint! All of our meals were delicious and huge portions!! The staff was so friendly and welcoming. They knew it was my birthday and celebrated with us with a desert and music. It was a great evening and we highly recommend!

The best Cuban food in DFW that I have found in the last 6 years. Everything is homemade. THe owners are wonderful and add extra attention and detail to the food and service. Highly recommend.

Full disclosure that the one star review I gave was due to service and not the food. The food was great but left a foul taste in my mouth and I can explain why. I came around 2pm today and at the time I came in I was the only person dining until about 20 mins into my meal. While I was ordering my meal, I had a hard time understanding my waitress. I felt like she was very impatient. After she got frustrated by lack of understanding she then was speaking to another person perhaps another coworker but how she was explaining the situation to her coworker she said “Chino” basically assuming that I was Chinese. What a shame. Not all Asians are the same. I’m Filipino but not Chino. She never came in to check on me that I can recall. While still some Arroz Con Pollo on my plate she kept asking or insisting for me to pay my tab. After feeling a little bit irritated I went to the register to pay via Apple Pay. Although I had a bad experience I still left a 20% tip. Just wanted to be a better person despite being treated like second class citizen. Racism is real but when it’s another minority doing it to another minority it’s mind blowing.

We were near this location and we were very hungry, we looked for something different, because you know, almost everything around here is the same 🙄 and we found this nice place, I already had a chance to eat something like this and I knew it was going to be good, but ☝🏼 not only the food was good, the people over there were so nice and friendly, they got my Oxtail ready to not go without trying it 😄 I was so happy when I got the first bite 🤣. Thanks guys

Had an amazing experience today at Cuba Bella. The food was delicious. The empanadas were so good that my 8 y/o son had four of them! We had ropa vieja, bistec encebollado, sopa de pollo, yuca, everything was so delicious! However, what really stood out was the service. We have a really difficult 5 y/o and the server went above and beyond to make her feel comfortable. She gave her cookies, she allowed her to sit on a table by herself, she catered to her like she was on her own. This allowed us to eat and enjoy the amazing food in peace. Conversation with the server and the owner was engaging. Cant wait to bring more people over here!

I’ll always take a chance on a strip mall ethnic restaurant with good reviews. 9/10 times you can’t go wrong and Cuba Bells is 100% right. It’s some the best Cuban food I’ve had in years (good is so hard to find). I ordered classic Ropa Vieja (slow roasted beef stew) with plantains and yellow rice and black beans. The yellow rice is VERY flavorful. The plantains cooked to perfection. But the ropa was spectacular. This is the true test of a Cuban place. How good is their Ropa. Perfecto. Enough of a portion for two exploding with delicious flavors. All of the workers are Cuban and you are served by a sweet lady that speaks mostly Spanish and likely cooks it too. I felt so welcome.
