Beaujolais Bistro

Well… it was an experience. Pro: The medium rare Filet Mignon was cooked to perfection. Con: -Parking was dark and difficult street parking. -The cost vs value was not up to par. -Service was fine, but it took two hours to be served a pre fixed menu and the hors d’oeuvres were served 3rd (after we told them they had been forgotten) no one acknowledged the error. -There was a great deal of bustling from the busers, but I didn’t see the server enough to ask why the meal was served out of order and the food wasn’t prepared according to the menu. -The dishes were not very flavorful. The cauliflower soup was watery. The asparagus was sour bitter , overall a wasted dish. The duck was very tasty, but it was served over kale , not the lentils that were on the menu. The dessert was obviously not fresh. The Panna cotta was hard and sweating. The brownie was undercooked. If it was marketed as fudge it would have made more sense. There was no showmanship. No delivery with flare. For the cost of the dining experience at $175 per person on a prefixed menu, I would have expected a little more of an effort. We also heard the couple grumbling next to us about how they had been there for over 2 hours as well. By the time we received our dessert, we just wanted the check. If the meal was $50 per person it still would have been too much for the cost vs value.

Wow! Perfect anniversary dinner. Lovely atmosphere, wonderful service and delicious food. We just returned for another dinner and it was even better. Every bite was mouthwateringly good. The staff was attentive and the ambiance was elegant.

Wonderful place for our anniversary. My husband use to go here years ago. The food is amazing. Worth the wait.

We sat out on the front porch for three hours and LOVED every minute of it. Our server and wait staff were elegant and engaging. The duck was done to perfection- not a flaw. The French onion soup was rich and warm...just what we needed as the weather turned colder outside. Highly rexommend.

As always, our dining experience was excellent.  The food, the wine, the service, and the ambiance are all top notch.  Sure, prices have gone up, as they have anywhere that serves quality cuisine, but it's worth it every time at Beaujolais.  We particularly like the Liberty Duck dishes, the fish (any of them) and the steak, and the four desserts we ordered were all better than the last. And Rosalyn, our server, was the best we've had at Beaujolais and the best we've had in a long time at any restaurant.  She is super friendly and knowledgeable and shows the perfect level of attention.  She never bothered us but also never left us looking for her.  I'm sure she had other tables, but it felt like we were her only table and she was watching us all along to make sure we never wanted for anything.

An absolute gem. Loved everything! This is a beautiful and very clean establishment. It feels upscale, yet also home-y and welcoming. They have a nice selection of wines by the glass. The menu rotates, here's what we had: - Marinated calvestrano olives which were served warm. They were so delicious we took an extra order to go. These might be the best olives I've ever had! - Onion soup gratin. Comfort food! Slightly sweet, very savory, and the right balance of cheese to add flavor without being too much. - Scallops with artichoke heart and beurre blanc. Perfectly cooked and seasoned. - Hanger steak with fries. The steak was beautifully cooked and sliced, the red wine sauce was rich and flavorful. I didn't love the fries but let's be honest, I did not go there for great fries. - Orange creme brulee. Wow. Wow. Wow. The crust was excellent and charred (in a good way) in a few spots. It came with very fresh berries that were surprisingly packed with flavor despite it being winter. I rated the service a 4 because our drink refills were slow despite the restaurant not being very busy that we could tell.

Definitely recommend a reservation. The atmosphere is really nice, its a cute little place, not very many tables but plenty of room. Our server was excellent, very cheerful and friendly. Escargot and onion soup for appetizers, both were very good. It did take a long, long time for us to get our mains, but they were great. I had the lamb shank which was on special that day. Wife had the filet which was perfect. A bit on the pricey side.

Came on a double date on Valentine’s day. Menu was set but had decent options. I’ve never really had French food so I don’t have a taste for it but everything was beautifully plated and service was great. I didn’t much care for some of the early courses (escargot, fois gras, caviar) but the truffle filet mignon for the main course was 🔥🔥🔥. Made the entire dinner worth it. Lots of truffle shavings and the steak was cooked perfectly. If you like French food or want a nice new culinary experience, this spot won’t disappoint. L

Oh Beaujolais, what can I say? For the longest time this restaurant was the only French place in town with quality food and distinct service. I started going here since I moved to town, 2019, and have seen the same wait staff, but improved service and highly curated menu items. I have been here for just about every occasion you could think of; birthdays, graduations, anniversaries, you name it. This review will be the long-standing tradition of Beaujolais Nouveau, which I've had a pleasure of attending for the third time. I reached out on Instagram and called the restaurant to see if there was any specials for tonight which they did confirm, however mention that there was not a prix fixe for tonight. Regardless, we still attended our reservation and was met with a pleasant surprise that not only did they have the specialty wines for today, but they also had a brief prix fixe to celebrate for the night For Beaujolais Nouveau, the prix fixe was set to mussels in a white wine sauce for appetizer, beef bourguignon as the entrée and chocolate soufflé for dessert. I've just had all of these items in the long time that I've been dining here, and each item still held in quality. Keep in mind this is much more of a romantic date night restaurant where voices are kept low, French music is playing at candlelight and the bill can get quite steep. Nonetheless Chef Bill does a great job at maintaining and running this beautiful restaurant. Highly recommend.

Four of us went there for dinner last night. While they were busy, there were still a few open tables. We were promptly greeted and seated. I was looking forward to the dinner, but the food was just OK. Nothing really wowed me. Additionally, the service could have been much better. While it looked like there was a lot of staff, the service just seemed chaotic. In all honesty, we had limited contact with our server. In one instance after he took our dessert order, he walked off. We had to call him back to the table to tell him we also wanted coffee with our dessert. I was a little surprised by that and still not sure why he didn't ask if we wanted coffee. The ambience is nice, but there are two separate dining rooms separated by an outdoor breezeway. So, every time customers or restaurant staff would open the door used to go into the additional dining room, the temperature in the main dining room dropped. It wasn't terrible last night because it was a relatively warm evening. I can't imagine what it would feel like onna cold January or February winter evening. I was really looking forward to having dinner there last night. Unfortunately, I left a little disappointed. At the prices that they charge, I expected more.

Where do I begin? Our small dining group has been treating ourselves to nice restaurants for each of our birthdays for dinner for several years now. We usually go to a well regarded local steakhouse but this time we decided to visit Beaujolais Bistro. We made the reservation on Resy and mentioned in the reservation that we were celebrating two birthdays with this dinner. While it was obvious that a couple of other tables were celebrating birthdays the birthdays at our table were not acknowledged. We were quickly seated and drink orders taken, but it took a little while before the drinks arrived. We ordered the bacon wrapped date appetizer which was tasty, but the presentation was a bit u inspired in my opinion. It seemed like they were just haphazardly plopped in a bowl. The appetizer plate I was given still had something from the previous diner on it, but was quickly exchanged for a more clean one. I had the French Onion Soup as a starter which I thought was delicious. Another one of my friends had it as well and said it was O.K. the other two had the seasonal squash soup and said it was merely O.K. For dinner I ordered the Hanger Steak Frites. It was tender and tasty. My friend had the Scallops which he said were too salty. And the two birthday men ordered the Beef Bourgignon which was described as being served with "Pommes Purée" (mashed potatoes) but came with boiled potatoes. And instead of being prepared and presented as a hearty stew with the vegetables cooked with the meat in the sauce the onion, carrots and potatoes were presented as a side to the meat and the carrots and onion were more on the undercooked side. When we mentioned the thing about the mashed potatoes we think we scared the waiter. For desert we ordered two pumpkin cheesecakes, the Sorbet Trio and the crepes. I thought my sorbets were delicious. I wish the portion would have been a little bigger. The cheesecake eaters mentioned a bitter taste that they couldn't quite identify. One of them likened it almost to a vinegar taste and the Crepes were also described as disappointing. In fact when looking at the picture of the cheesecake I couldn't tell if it was the crepes or the cheesecake. They were both a bit of a blob. The service that evening was probably the biggest downfall and largest contributor to my rating. It was slow. We weren't asked how our entree's were. We weren't asked if we wanted another drink or another glass of wine. We had ask for the glass of iced tea to be refilled before desert. And finally even though we had been told someone would return to push the plunger down on our French Press coffee we ended up having to push that down ourselves. So overall it was a little bit of a disappointing experience.

We loved our special dinner here when visiting Reno! The ambiance was upscale yet inviting - everything was beautifully decorated but still felt cozy. We were seated in a booth by the window with a view of the kitchen. The menu changes daily from my understanding, and they were out of some of our first choices because we dined closer to closing. However, everything we ordered was exceptional. To start, I got a cognac, blackberry, and thyme (?) cocktail. It was new, not yet on the menu, and hadn't been named yet. It was incredibly well balanced, and this is coming from someone who normally does not enjoy cognac! We shared the crab salad, which featured the welcome addition of fennel - super refreshing. The kitchen was kind enough to bring the dish already split, which made sharing easier. For mains, we picked the hanger steak and the rack of lamb. The steak was great, but the lamb was the real standout. It was perfectly tender, not overly seasoned, but really just highlighting the quality of the meat. For dessert, we shared the incredibly rich chocolate mousse. While this dinner was not cheap, Beaujolais is well worth it if you're looking to celebrate. I'd absolutely be back should I find myself in Reno again.

After a special request from the birthday boy, I made reservations for a 6 PM dinner. The service was impeccable for the first 20 minutes, but then the restaurant got filled up and was understaffed. The food was good enough, but definitely not worth the price. My first and last time there. But the birthday 65 year old had a nice birthday.

Celebrated our eight year anniversary with a dinner at Beaujolais. This is a great place for special occasions, the food is always delicious and the staff is very attentive. My favorite dishes are the escargot and you filet mignon.

Our first experience at Beaujolais - the cutest little French bistro in downtown Reno on the riverfront. With indoor and outdoor seating this is the cutest lil bistro. We went with another couple on a Friday night - with reservations. The restaurant wasn't too busy at 6:15 but a steady stream filled the place. We started off with cocktails and the hubby had a Diet Coke that took way too long to arrive (and 3 requests from the bar?) We ordered appetizers (escargot and pate), soup and salad and mains. The soup (French onion) was delivered with my beet salad and before the appetizers. They were both delicious albeit out of order! Then the mains were delivered. We brought it to their attention that our appetizers hadn't yet arrived and they graciously made good (comp'd appys and a round of drinks) on the error and they ended up being well worth the wait! I had the squash blossoms (very good) and hubby had the cod (small and delicious portion) We finished with dessert (hubby had profiteroles) and a port. I'd like to go back and sit outside on a mild evening, the restaurant is cute and inviting. I would recommend but only for a leisurely dining experience - we were there about 3 hours in total. The food is quite good and very traditional French cuisine!

Listen, the food here is good, don't get me wrong. I found myself say "oh yea that's good" quite a bit. Well prepared and well executed- everything we tried. I had the confit and foie gras for my main dish and it was a 7/10. Deanna F had the hanger steak frites and the steak was 8/10- fries were prepared well and bernaise sauce was -pretty- good. The French onion soup we split 4 ways lol it was very good. Profiteroles 6/10 (ice cream wasn't that great and pastry was a bit too chewy), and mousse 9/10. I kept going back and forth over how many stars to give and I just had to hold back because while it was nice to have a long leisurely meal with friends, the food took too long. Like way too long for every course. They were probably busier than normal I don't know, but you're a French restaurant- if the kitchens backed up- do something about it. AmuseBouche maybe?because the appetizers took almost 25 minutes to come out. It was an hour and a half almost from when we sat down to when we got our mains. Our server was good, her support was fine but that was not acceptable service without some kind of amends. We were sat out on our own in the secondary seating room and candidly you do kind of feel a bit of an afterthought.. the decor in there is sparse and the stemware and all that feels kind of secondary, but the main room and bar were cute what we saw of it.

Late review but my partner and I ate here for a Valentines dinner and it was great. I chose to be adventurous in my menu choices with caviar, black trumpet mushroom soup and fried sweet breads and not a single menu item let me down. The service was great and helpful, made the feeling of a finer dining experience feel less intimidating. The atmosphere here is very much like you're having someone cook for you in their home.

When it comes to French dining, my question when I depart is whether I experienced something memorable for my pallat. And the bistro certained met that criteria. The bacon wrapped dates appetitzer was delightful. The squash curry soup with apple had the right blend of flavors. The hanger steak entry was quite good though perhaps the least remarkable part of the meal. And we enjoyed raspberry panna cotta dessert which was a fitting end to the meal. I don't drink so can't speak of the drink menu. Very professional service. Interior ambience is suitable to the setting, relaxing and intimate. Now, do keep in mind when it comes to French fine dining, the price tag for the quantity of food in exchange are as usual abysmal. Thus hardly a contested point worth deducting point for.

Got to check this restaurant out for first class food and nice ambiance. Wednesday night in November was hopping like a Saturday. We started with wine and sparkling water. Next came the delicious pumpkin seed crusted quail and exquisite watercress pear salad. Entrees chosen were steak with fries and filet mignon. Can't say enough about how perfect these dishes were. If you cook a lot, you won't be disappointed. Excellent food! One word to management- your hostess should greet EVERYONE at the door with a warm welcome. No telling where your next review is coming from. Instead, we were greeted with a "do you have reservations?" at your 5:00 pm opening. That was a turn off. Thank you for the opportunity to comment.

This is truly a fine dining restaurant uniquely designed in a historic brick house on the Truckee river. The ambiance is classy, spacious, warm and cozy. The staff is personable, proficient and professional. Lee was our server, always with a smile. The food is amazing, fresh, prepared and presented perfectly. The green olives appetizer was served warm with savory spices. The hanger steak, was served medium rare in a wine sauce beside frites (French fries) and bernais sauce. The halibut was flaky and moist with lemon beurre blanc sauce, ramps, morels, potatoes. The asparagus and leek soup was hearty and flavorful. The desserts were delicate and delicious. The orange crème brulee was a perfect end to the fine dinner.

Fun quaint place near the river. The food was very fresh and well prepared! There are two sections of the building which would be neat for private events. Our servers were very nice and patient. We will be back for sure! If I had one critique it would be the bread to butter ratio more butter is required for our group... lmao! Thank you for a nice double date night.

It's hard to describe Beaujolais Bistro as anything but charming. We sat outside on the deck where we enjoyed a nice quiet dinner overlooking the walking path and the Truckee River. The server was friendly and attentive making the overall night and service quite pleasant. I ordered the pork chop in a Dijon Sooubise sauce that was rich and decadent. The pork chop was juicy and cooked to perfection but the sauce easily made the dish. A perfect spot for a nice quiet romantic dinner; however, it can get busy and is best to make reservations well in advance.

A fabulous restaurant for fine dining in the downtown Reno area. This place sets the standard for high end restaurants in the entire area. Quaint and dimly lit, the dining room is romantic and inviting. Although one big room, you feel tucked away at each table in your own little area. Walking in, one may feel as if they are eating at a quaint little European town restaurant. The menu has something for everyone from wild game to seafood to steaks and more. Soups and salads are creative and sizeable. They are never boring or mundane. Appetizers are also unique but let's not forget, delicious. I was with a group of seven guests and we were dining for a dinner meeting. We ordered an array of appetizers including the Brussels sprouts, duck and mushroom cigars, escargot, bacon wrapped dates and the foie gras. I thought they were all very tasty. Truly each was delicious. My only complaint would be with the foie gras. It was not seared but served cool and was not my absolute favorite but I'd have another bite again at any time. The table each had a salad. The frisée' salad came with a perfectly cooked poached egg, the caesar salad was not on the menu but if you ask they will bring it. I had the pear and watercress salad which was surprisingly delightful. One guest had the onion soup which looked absolutely amazing with melty cheese about the entire steamy top. I ordered the venison chops with a berry reduction. The sweet and gently tart sauce paired well with the medium-rare cooked and very mild gaminess of the meat giving an excellent overall taste. The scalloped potatoes were melt-in-your-mouth delicious. I tasted some of my colleagues meals as well. The filet mignon had a little truffle added to the sauce which added well to the perfectly cooked beef. The sea bass was easy on the eyes and the mouth as well. Very tasty. I also was able to get a bite of one of my friends scallop dish. Perfectly cooked with flavor that just popped; it is one of their signature dishes. They offer an extensive wine list and a very unique menu of cocktails able to be stirred up by their mixologist. The desert menu followed suit with delectable sounding offerings but I was stuffed and had no room to order. I cannot wait to return.

The ambiance was really special. We went here for a belated Valentines dinner and were happy to celebrate with this meal. The bacon wrapped dates were our favorite. The baked phyllo was rich and delicious. This was my first time having French food, and it was different than my usual pallet, but I am happy I got to experience a restaurant that cares about local and organic sourcing. The service was kind and attentive, especially for a busy service night.

I came here with my wife for my birthday, and the food was absolutely amazing. The service was okay, and we were promptly seated, but the waiter was neither good nor bad. The place itself was very pretty and had out door seating which looked nice, as well as indoor.

This was our first time dining at Beaujolais and it was such a wonderful experience! It is expensive but the cost guarantees you have great tasting food and a nice atmosphere. Everything tasted so fresh, the staff were fantastic, and the ambiance was perfect. We had our reservation at 5:15 for dinner which was nice because it was right before the dinner rush came through, so it was a little quieter and you could enjoy the atmosphere more. I did like the location since it is right across the river - and they do offer outdoor dining! I highly recommend the three sorbet dessert, it was amazing and the sorbet taste was out of this world. The lime had a very lime flavor but it really complimented the other flavors if you mix them together. Perfect spot for a romantic dinner!

We went here for a traditional dinner with friends! The service and ambiance is top tier. I love how small and personable it is. The waiters know the menu and are so helpful when deciding what to order. I think I just didn't order what I wanted and ordered something I'd hope I would enjoy. I would love to go back and try something else because I've heard nothing but amazing things about the food.

This is a great spot for a girls night out, or a date! It is a cute location with a cozy ambience. Well worth grabbing a reservation and going to. Their cocktails as well as their dinner items were amazing.

Ingredients were super fresh and leave you feeling so nourished, but in a fun way. It didn't occur to me to grab photos of the menu when I was there, and as the menu changes daily, many items we ordered just a few days ago are no longer there so gawd help us we're relying on memory.. Which I fail to remember the name of our server rocking the lunar phase tattoos, but we loved her!! She was really helpful, attentive and good fun. Great patio and tables out on the grass for those wanting to watch the Riverwalk happenings, and gorgeous interior spaces if you prefer to catch the atmosphere which I'll try next time. I did love our spot on the patio though :)) Beautiful space with beautiful cuisine - highly recommend!

This review is regarding their 5 course Valentines Day Special- This restaurant has always been in close visual of my weekend walks from midtown towards the riverwalk. It is a beautiful view to and inside this wonderful establishment. The ambiance was amazing, the service was divine, and the experience was something that will be transformative every time. In this new age of fine dining; we are often posed with the quandary of price, quality of food, ambiance, and overall..."is it worth it?" Well in my humble opinion it was/is/and will continue to be worth it. If you have an anniversary, a special romantic evening with someone or simply want to take your taste buds dancing...this is the place to be. 12/10, WILL definitely be coming back.

The wine list. Exquisite. The cocktails, phenomenal. The food for the most part was delicious. We had the hanger steak and scallops, and those were both beautifully constructed dishes and well executed. The crab salad was slightly underwhelming and uninspired and the mussels were good, but not great. My biggest complaint, and the reason for the three stars, unfortunately came from the staff. As someone who works in fine dining I was shocked with the language and the actions that I witnessed by the staff here. There was a lot of profanity, casually being used well within the earshot of our table and others. And towards the end of the night, we witnessed a lot of food being consumed in the kitchen casually in between the service staff waiting on tables. I found this very unprofessional and a really big turn off. There's a time and place for all of that, but it shouldn't be within eye or ear shot of patrons. That was pretty Disappointing.

10/10 for this place. No words can explain better. This is my always go-to spot when I'm in Lake Tahoe, worth 2 hours drive back and forth. Staffs are very friendly, food is amazing and the ambiance is perfect. I love how Frenchy this restaurant is ( which is hard to find in the Bay Area), they take their times for bringing food and let you enjoy your own. I can't explain in words but trust me, this place won't make you leave with unpleasant feelings.

We come here for speaker programs. Last night was as wonderful as usual, in the private room which is very homey and comfortable. The service was fantastic with smiling Lee and his team. Food is incredible from the early bites, a gorgeous salad and delicious entrees. The chicken entree tasted like my mom's cooking and it was huge. Desserts were lovely. We enjoyed even the candles in the fireplace to make it inviting with the rain outside. Thank you, Lee !

Everything about this place is PERFECT. If I could give 10 stars, I would. We sat outside on their lawn, and the ambiance with the river across the road, street musician playing, and quiet neighborhood was so lovely. Service was impeccable, friendly, attentive without being intrusive. Food was gorgeously prepared. Each entree had no less than 5 individual elements, all perfectly seasoned and perfectly matched with each other. This is a treasure of a restaurant and will be the first rsvp we make every time we're in Reno. Menu rotates and changes but highlights were the escargot, bacon wrapped dates, and pan-seared halibut.

Beaujolais has become a renowned fine dining establishment in Reno. This French restaurant offers high quality food and drink. I feel like Beaujolais has lost some of its "wow" factor over the years. They expanded into the space next door so there is much more seating than there once was but I would still recommend a reservation for a weekend dining seating. The service here on my last visit was good, but not fine dining good. Maybe that's a little harsh, but at ~$50+ per person, I want a little more care and attention, not simply a staff doing their jobs. The food is high quality, and everything my party ordered was tasty. Looking back at prior Yelp photos of some of the same menu items, it looks like a little shrinkflation has taken place. Overall, I still enjoy this restaurant but if I want a fine dining/"wow, that was incredible!" experience, I'm not sure this is my first pick.

I had been wanting to come here for years and recently went. Beaujolais did not disappoint!! From the appetizers to dessert my group enjoyed everything that was brought to us. We all made sure we got different dishes and made sure to try each thing. The staff was incredibly helpful and so kind! The music playing wasn't too loud and very pleasant to hear in the background. I HIGHLY recommend the olives for an appetizer. I am NOT an olive eater and was so surprised at how delicious they were! Absolutely plan on coming back soon!

My husband and I went to dinner here with some friends. Can't wait to go again. I didn't realize that this was a house that they converted into a restaurant. It was really nice inside. We were seated in the back by the window where we had a view of the street. Waitress came up and introduced herself and took our drink order. I had a French 75 and my husband, as usual had an old fashion. He was given the choice of regular or smoke. Both very good. I order escargot and sea bass and my husband ordered onion soup and beef bourguignon. So delicious. This is a pricey place but portions are good as is the food.

Gayle's Birthday Dinner - 12/15/23 5:30 PM Reservation via Open Table Since we moved to Northern Nevada about 3 years ago, our fine dining experiences were limited to Daniel's in Genoa, which is also a French restaurant. And when I say "fine dining", the final tab and the overall value proposition were both tall. And this is what I should expect for last night's "kick ass" dinner for my very special Wife. Our evening was also special as our friends Jim and Marti were able to join us. CONS - Really only 1: Acoustics. The room full of happy diners often made it difficult to have close conversations that matched the ambiance. PROS - Attractive craftsman-like restaurant "homes" on the leafy neighborhood outside and attractive and welcoming dining rooms on the inside. - Comfortable and classy table seating near the back of the room within the 2nd house. - Excellent service that hit the attentive sweet spot. - Enormous wine list and a spot on recommendation from our waitress based on what we ordered. - Fabulous (and filling food) of which we all enjoyed. Jim had the Hanger Steak and Frites, while Marti had Ahi Tuna. Gayle's choice was Scallops, while mine was a vegetarian Phyllo Risotto Dish. But first for our appetizers, Jim and I loved the deliciousness of the French Onion Soup, while Gayle chose a wonderful Crab, Pineapple and Avocado Salad, and Marti checking in with a beet, goat cheese, and arugula creation. - Adult Beverages. I was happy with my own bottle of sparking water, while Gin Martinis were on order to begin our evening. We then ordered a very nice French Burgundy for the table. There were many California wine choices, but in a French restaurant, why? REGRETS - Not going "Full French" and splurging on the generous Prix Fixe menu $100) with the suggested wine pairings ($35).

Super cute restaurant with big windows that face the riverwalk for optimum people watching :) We were served warm bread and butter and received our drinks after a wait (busy Friday night), my spiced "rum" mocktail was unique and refreshing. I could only eat the bacon wrapped blue cheese dates because of my shellfish allergy but they were the perfect balance of sweet and savory. The French onion soup was rich and hearty with tons of melted gruyere cheese and chunks of braised onion. The star of the meal was my perfectly cooked hanger steak and salty, crispy frites dipped in the lemony Bernaise sauce, divine! Finished the amazing meal with a decadent cookie crumble chocolate mousse (my fave dessert) and a creamy vanilla ice cream profiterole smothered in chocolate sauce. Loved every dish, my only criticism is with the slower service which is understandable considering how busy they were. Would definitely go back to try more!

Beaujolais has a great location across from the river. I've been going past this restaurant for years and always wanted to give it a try, so I took the wife there for her birthday. Casual setting so it does feel comfortable. It does get loud, and it's easy to overhear other tables. A few tables over I heard an older gentleman being what I'd consider rude to the wait staff, but the wait staff handled it extremely well. Service was great, they seem very attentive and eager to provide a great experience. My water glass rarely was less than half full at all times. Our table had a little wobble to it, and without even saying anything to them, they took notice and fixed it promptly. Drink.. I went with the old fashioned. Excellently balanced and probably the best I've had to date. App.. Escargot. This was my first time trying Escargot, so I have nothing to compare it to at this point. We did finish them, but perhaps Escargot is not my thing. Entree... I went with the filet, which was accompanied by potato gratin and brocolinni. The filet was very tender, had a great crust, and cooked to a perfect medium rare. Although it could've used a bit more salt and pepper, in my opinion. The brocolinni was wonderful, and the potato had a good char on top, but I found some bites saltier than others, so the seasoning seemed a tad unbalanced. Overall, this was a great french cuisine experience in Reno.

The service and staff were top notch. The bread at the start is killer, had some pumpkin seed on it, might be from Beloved Breads.... Maybe? Apps and entrees were very good, just needed a wee bit of salt on the steak. Drinks were also grand! The real fireplace is just perfect. Parking is the hard part, many houses with signs for permit parking only, so be aware. The steak frites was an epic dish, perfectly cooked meat, the frites with the mayo sauce were 10/10. Beet salad 9/10, loved the micro greens. Bacon wrapped dates were good. Butter radish salt app was also very good. Crème brûlée was 1000%

I was able to make a reservation for 7:30 PM Friday night for 3 people approximately 3 hours ahead of time. It was easy to reserve via OpenTable. We ordered Virgin Peach Lemonade, Rosemary Gimlet, and Cabernet Sauvignon. The drinks were delicious and promptly made. The three of us split an Arugula Salad. It was disappointing to see the portion size was sparse. For entrees, we ordered the scallops, duck breast, and phyllo. While the food was delicious, we all agreed we left hungry.

Don't get the idea, even for a minute, that because this is a French Restaurant that it is and any way a "Hoity-Toity" super fancy ordeal! Its is not. First it is nestled away in a residential area in a retrofitted older house. Second it is very comfortable and super quaint. Third you won't find any tuxedo wearing pretentious servers here. Real people working to serve real good food and deliver you a great experience. Every course was spectacular. Myself having worked in French kitchen for a good part of my career was pleasantly surprised at the quality and flavors we experienced on our visit to BB. My personal favorites were the Pumpkinseed Crusted Fried Quail. The Duck Confit and the Raspberry Panna Cotta. Again each dish was superb. The Pate was velvety and perfectly paired with some whole grain mustards. The soup was rich and satisfying. The Scallops were perfectly Cooked. And as expected the Creme Brule was as smooth as silk! Our server Lee was a true professional.

Had been telling my husband about this restaurant often as we would walk by. This Friday we decided to take a chance and see if they could accommodate us as a walk in. They did. We got a lovely table outside on the patio. So glad we got to enjoy the experience and the food. Every bite and taste was delightful. It was a splurge and hope we find an opportunity to do it again.

Everything was perfect. Great atmosphere and good service. My steak was cooked to a perfect medium rare. My wife's scallops were very very good. Perfect amount of food and the mousse was the best. We would recommend and will return.

It's so nice to be able to get a taste of France right here in Reno. From the moment you walk in staff are friendly and attentive. Intimate setting with exposed brick and a nod to Parisian culture everywhere. Street parking only so plan ahead. When making a reservation request a window seat or if warm weather a table outside is perfection. The escargot was some of the best I've had yes even in France. Halibut a bit overcooked but the flavors just wow. Pork chop a bit under in the center but just succulent. Manhattan could've used some vermouth but the Beaujolais Old Fashioned (add an extra $1 to get it smoked) was divine. We'll definitely be back to indulge in this gem with so many dishes still to try.

My favorite restaurant in the area! Consistently excellent food, drinks and ambiance. I prefer dining in the main house but am grateful for the extra seating next door. This bar is serving the best drinks in town; prove me wrong! I had the gin mocktail and I could drink that all day long! We started with the terrine and the crab salad. Both were excellent. However, we then waited for at least 45 minutes to be served our main course! Our server came by twice to promise she wouldn't starve us and it was funny the first time... However, all was forgotten when the steak frites arrived! You haven't truly lived unless you've had fries dipped in béarnaise. my daughter had the filet (of course) which was superb; mom had scallops which were also delightful and dad has the fish which was perfectly cooked.

Well, to quote one of our dinner companions, "Playing French music and serving courses slowly does not make a French Bistro". Neither do price pretensions of fine dining. With nearly all main courses in the high $40s to $65 range, separate appetizer and soup/salad courses priced to match, and our server's, "Our menu changes daily" (presumably to ensure unique quality and freshness) we had high hopes for an excellent meal and service with our visiting French friends. Mais non! Service was decent, American friendly but abysmally slow. We waited a full hour after our appetizer and salad courses for our main course, with nary a word nor glance from our server, until we finally, hungrily asked for an explanation, to be told, "Sorry, there was a kitchen drop". What, our meals? A fainting chef? A small sinkhole? No further explanation, estimate, nor even an offer of a compensatory glass of wine or amuse-bouche was provided. And that, particularly given the prices and pretensions, is simply unacceptable. But, worse was yet to come. Our main courses were seared scallops, a vegetarian, baked stuffed Phyllo dough dish and a sort of seafood stew, featuring "fresh"monkfish, along with shellfish (2 clams, 2 mussels, 2 small scallops) and potatoes in a Dijon Soubise sauce. The stuffed phyllo was quite good, with nice flavors and textures of squash, cheese and herbs. The scallops were seared properly and decent, but not beyond that. Their sauce tried, but was overly salty. Their accompanying "seasonal" vegetables were limp and indecipherable. The "changing menu" touted Monkfish stew, however, would likely have been snubbed even by our ever hungry Chocolate Lab. Its seafood was over-cooked, especially the monkfish, which somehow managed to be tasteless, rubbery and mushy at the same time. It was clearly old and had the texture of shredded cardboard and rubber bands. Perhaps to disguise all that, the sauce was harshly pungent and unbearably salty. We are talking salty as if perhaps the top fell off the shaker. Overall? Dashed expectations, and an annoying and very disappointing evening out. When asked the usual "how was everything?" We were candid, reasonable, and truthful. Apologies were made but with no real explanations. The $55 monkfish disaster was, as it should have been, removed from the bill. We declined desert as we were unwilling to wait another hour for what may well have been something we wished we had never ordered. This unfortunate experience occurred on a Friday evening. Even so, other than folks having drinks in the bar area, it was not busy and there were many empty tables. We now understand why. We have no plans to return anytime soon.

I took my girlfriend here for a Saturday night date. We sat outside and the view was beautiful. The service was excellent even though we were outside. Our server Shane was constantly asking about our well being and checking on us. He was very patient and answered all of our questions with knowledge and professionalism. Food was amazing although it was a bit pricey. Would definitely go again.

Fine dining at its best. The staff is very professional. They really knew the menu and had great recommendations. I loved the old fashioned. Not too sweet and just the right bitters. The ambiance is really like going to eat at friends house, but that friend is an amazing chef who set everything up for fine dining. The octopus is a must have. It was cooked perfectly and quite tender. The sides with the octopus were amazing. The sausage and potatoes were a surprise. The duck breast was juicy and delicious. I loved the berry sauce with it. But I do wish that the skin was crispier on the duck. Still loved the dish though. Overall this was a five star experience with delicious food and awesome service.

After walking by the location numerous times, I found an occasion to make a reservation. We arrived at 5:45 on a Saturday evening. The place was still pretty quiet. When our dinner was done at 7:15 the restaurant was full inside and out. Our wait staff was attentive and helpful with questions that my party of two had about the menu. Drinks, apps, entrees, and desserts came out in a timely manner. The quail was delicious, the escargots could have used a bit more salt, my phyllo was burnt to a crisp. The plate came out hot so I assume it had been sitting on a warmer. The crust was almost black and the food inside was smooshed together. Was not visually appealing and my taste buds weren't happy either. Lemon tart was tangy and refreshing. I tried the crepes, but the taste of rum was wildly overwhelming so much that I couldn't taste any other ingredient in the dish. I told the server and she offered me another dessert, but by then I was ready to be done with our dining experience. That meal for two was a little over $160. Yes, I would recommend the Bistro to those that have not been before. I would like to return to sit at the bar and enjoy a drink and an appetizer.

Lovely French bistro in Reno. We had a wonderful dinner here while in town last winter. The atmosphere is very cosy with a charming, unassuming sort of decor. The menu is fairly straightforward. We shared an appetizer, a couple of classic French bistro dishes - duck confit and boeuf bourguignon, and crème brûlée for dessert. I ordered a couple of celebration-appropriate cocktails and all was excellent. Definitely a nice dining experience if you find yourself in Reno.

I really had high expectations for this place and some of them were met. The service was very good, our server was very attentive. The drinks were always full and empty plates were cleared quickly. The food was the least impressive part about this place and for the money I was somewhat disappointed. My steak was a bit under cooked not this biggest deal but I just didn't love the taste. Our alcoholic drinks were good but again not the best. The ambiance of this place was pretty and nice, it's a romantic date night spot. Again my problem with this place was the amount of money they charged didn't add up to the quality/taste in food. If I could give a half star I would.

What a beautiful restaurant with an incredible view of the river. This is a great spot for a date night or to celebrate an occasion. I've never really had French food and I must say, I was impressed. I totally failed and forgot to take a picture of the menu. My husband and I had two appetizers, onion soup, crab salad (amazing!!), and for our entrees he ordered the duck and I chose the mains scallops. Everything was pretty good. Service was spectacular, they checked on us a couple of times and we did not feel rushed at all. I enjoyed my meal here. Definitely expect to spend about $200-300 for two people.

My husband brought me here for my birthday as I had mentioned wanting to try it. There were two seating areas, main one as you enter and then another to the right. The room has a fair amount of tables and did get loud once they were filled. I did appreciate the service. Our table was very wobbly and the waitress was attentive and came right over and fixed it within minutes. We ordered escargot for appetizer, because French. I was not a fan. I ordered the salmon with asparagus and I thought it came with rice but it did not. For dessert I got the raspberry ricotta and my husband shared his caramel crepe. The food does take some time to come out, so do not come here if your hangry level is high. Overall nice experience but I wouldn't necessarily jump at going again since it does cost a pretty penny.

Beautiful restaurant with a great bistro vibe. Excellent food and drinks! Our server was super enthusiastic. Would certainly come back again when the budget allows.

I've been to Beaujolais more than a few times, and it never disappoints. The service is consistently on point--attentive without being overbearing, and the staff always makes you feel welcome. Their wine selection is top-notch, with an impressive assortment that can please any palate. The ambiance is romantic and intimate, perfect for a date night or a special occasion. During the summer, the patio area is absolutely beautiful--a great spot to enjoy a meal while soaking in the atmosphere. The food is simply delicious. I've never had a bad dish here. Every plate is thoughtfully prepared, with a great balance of flavors. Whether you're coming for a casual dinner or a more upscale experience, Beaujolais is a fantastic choice.
