I visited Hija de Sanchez in Nordhavn recently. The place has an interesting history, started by a former Noma pastry chef to bring authentic Mexican techniques to Copenhagen, specifically their house-made masa using imported heirloom corn.
The Food & Drink
I ordered the 3-taco combo (two beef and one pork). The ingredients were clearly fresh, but the meat itself was a little bit dry, so the food felt average. To drink, I had a Jarritos cola. It’s my favorite, and it was very nice to have it available there.
The Experience
The atmosphere in Nordhavn is great. It’s a very cozy spot with a nice open kitchen where you can see everything being prepared. A huge plus is that the ventilation is excellent; you don’t leave with your clothes smelling like food, which is a rare find for a taco spot.
Summary
Overall, a 3/5. The vibe and the freshness are there, but the food was just "ok" on this visit.
