"I love the patio at Bar Pisellino on Grove — Italian-inspired, fashionable, and lively; its popularity even led to an extension space a few doors down." - Matt Ortile

"A no-reservations coffee and cocktail spot counted among their West Village staples." - Melissa McCart
"Bar Pisellino, from the people behind nearby Via Carota, is the place to drink a spritz in the summer, and everyone knows it. Most of the seating is on the sidewalk, where you’ll see a crowd in loafers and cowboy boots sitting at small tables. Are all of those people judging you? Yes. That’s part of fun, and if you want to give it a shot, you’ll have to stand in a line that stretches down the block." - bryan kim, neha talreja, carina finn koeppicus
"Bar Pisellino recently expanded into a storefront next to their West Village corner spot, but that hasn't made the line any shorter. Now there are just two lines. Still, this aperitivo bar from the team behind Via Carota is one of our favorite spots for an orange-colored adult beverage. The spritz is on tap, and comes with exactly three olives and an orange wedge. Pair one with some salami and pecorino, and—if you're really smart—a shot of espresso, too." - willa moore, molly fitzpatrick, will hartman, bryan kim, sonal shah
"Above all else, Bar Pisellino is an excellent business decision. This Italian bar and cafe is from the team behind Via Carota—and it’s located directly across the street on 7th Avenue. So when you’re quoted a two-hour wait at Via Carota, you can walk 20 steps and be in the immediate vicinity of a spritz and some arancini to tide you over. Except, of course, if you have to wait for a table at Bar Pisellino—which is something you should expect at peak times, even though they now have two rooms, separated by their liquor store. They just also have two lines now. photo credit: Willa Moore There are a lot of places in New York with intricate Negroni menus, Aperol spritzes on tap, and sidewalks littered with tiny tables and chairs. But nobody does it like Bar Pisellino. They run a tight ship, but it’s always relaxed enough to order a second round. For every person standing at the counter for a quick espresso, there’s someone lounging outside for hours. We like to fall somewhere in the middle. Come for pre-dinner drinks, and order both an espresso and that on-tap aperol spritz. Then split your people-watching between the people on the sidewalk, and the date at the table next to you." - Willa Moore
