"Above all else, Bar Pisellino is an excellent business decision. This Italian bar and cafe is from the team behind Via Carota—and it’s located directly across the street on 7th Avenue. So when you’re quoted a two-hour wait at Via Carota, you can walk 20 steps and be in the immediate vicinity of a spritz and some arancini to tide you over. Except, of course, if you have to wait for a table at Bar Pisellino—which is something you should expect at peak times, even though they now have two rooms, separated by their liquor store. They just also have two lines now. photo credit: Willa Moore There are a lot of places in New York with intricate Negroni menus, Aperol spritzes on tap, and sidewalks littered with tiny tables and chairs. But nobody does it like Bar Pisellino. They run a tight ship, but it’s always relaxed enough to order a second round. For every person standing at the counter for a quick espresso, there’s someone lounging outside for hours. We like to fall somewhere in the middle. Come for pre-dinner drinks, and order both an espresso and that on-tap aperol spritz. Then split your people-watching between the people on the sidewalk, and the date at the table next to you." - Willa Moore
