"Kaiju, a slightly hidden bar on the second floor of a food hall, puts more effort into the design of its menu than most spots put into their actual cocktails. Each page is designed to look like a Pokémon card, with a small paragraph dedicated to tasting notes (and a brief bio on the mythical monster each drink is named after). The unabashedly nerdy attention to detail carries over to the cocktails, too. Everyone is greeted with a complimentary sip of the milk punch of the week when they sit down. From there, there are no wrong choices, but we’re partial to the Kappa, a take on a southside that features shiso, cardamom, cucumber, and toasted rice syrup. "Kaiju is a bar inside The Citadel with a cocktail menu that reads like a Pokémon card collection, and drinks inspired by different mythical monsters. Their version of a martini—called the Tarasca—is probably the coldest martini in town. It comes in a frozen glass with gin, fino sherry, and olives that’ve been macerated and then clarified. Kaiju is located in what looks like a fancy bird’s nest on the second floor, and can only fit about a dozen people. "Kaiju is a cocktail bar inside The Citadel food hall in Little River, and it has one of the best cocktail menus in Miami. The menu itself is a fun little anime-inspired zine with drinks named after different mythical monsters. And those drinks are the kind of impressively engineered cocktails you’ll want to sip slowly and appreciate, which is difficult because they’re so good you might chug them like a post-recess Capri Sun. "Hidden on the second floor of the Citadel food hall, Bar Kaiju brings monster-inspired cocktails to Little River. Follow the creature-themed floor markers to find this dimly lit, red-hued drinking den where Japanese anime art sets the mood. The creative menu is inspired by pocket monsters (aka Pokémon) and is displayed in the kind of binder used to collect trading cards. Beverage monsters include the Nandi Bear, which is characterized as a cross between a Moscow Mule and a Maskingana, which is the Demon of Deception. The drink is like an espresso martini cocktail that’s completely clear and plays a bit of mind trickery on its imbibers." - Amber Love Bond
