Best food I’ve had in Baltimore in ages. The food is MINDBLOWINGLY delicious, service is great, atmosphere is cozy and cute. They even have hooks for your purse :) and I liked being able to see over the counter into the kitchen. We had the duck poutin, WFC salad (THE CORNBREAD OMG), lamb chops, and blue plate seafood curry. Every single thing was phenomenal.

Last night was truly unforgettable. We had the pleasure of dining at Water for Chocolate restaurant, and the entire evening felt like a beautiful culinary experience. From the moment we arrived, the ambiance was warm and elegant, setting the tone for what would become an extraordinary experience. The food was nothing short of spectacular. It genuinely felt as though the chef was cooking exclusively for our party — and in a way, he was. We had the rare opportunity to watch him prepare our dishes right in front of us, engaging with him as he worked his magic in the kitchen. That personal touch added a whole new layer of intimacy and appreciation to the meal. Our server was equally impressive: gracious, knowledgeable, and attentive without being overbearing. He guided us through the menu, which we learned changes nightly or weekly i think keeping the experience fresh and exciting for returning guests. It wasn’t just dinner — it was a celebration of flavor, hospitality, and artistry. I can’t wait to go back.

Absolutely DELICIOUS! I didn't think I'd love the barbecue shrimp and grits, but it was amazing. My Poinsetta was light and tasty without being too sweet or strong. The vibe was so relaxing, from the decor, artwork, and music. The only potential drawback is the parking, but I was blessed to find a spot next to the outdoor seating, which I can imagine is great when it's warm. I will definitely be revisiting with friends.

We tried this place for the first time during Baltimore Restaurant week. We oderednoff the pre fix menu and ala carte. They did not disappoint. All meals were freshly cooked and the server Thomas was super polite and welcoming. We were able to get a table with no reservations in a cozy nook. My duck risotto (not pictured bc ai tore it up) was creamy perfection. All items were delicious and the sweet potato bread pudding was an excellent highlight.

I’ve been thinking about planning another date night with my wife, and it hit me—I never wrote the review that Water for Chocolate truly deserves. So here it is. My wife and I have been coming here for the last two years, and every single visit has been excellent. We’ve celebrated her birthday with brunch, enjoyed a Valentine’s Day dinner, and stopped in for casual date nights. Each time, the food quality and service have been consistently top-tier. If you want great, flavorful food, go there. If you want an intimate, cozy vibe, go there. They do reservations, so do yourself a favor and make one. Chef Sean works magic in the kitchen! Every dish tastes fresh and is full of flavor. Water for Chocolate is easily one of our favorite spots in Baltimore, and we’ll definitely be back again soon.

Baaabbyyyyyyyy!!!! You might as well stop reading this and head right on over to their website and make that brunch reservation. The whole experience was perfection, from Thomas (our greeter/server) to the mint water, to the DELICIOUS food prepared by Chef Sean Guy. This was def a top notch experience and we'll definitely be back to try other menu items. NOTE: There are plenty of vegan options to choose from!

Water for Chocolate is far more than fine dining! On a visit to Baltimore with the Ben Barber Culinary/Restaurant Team, we were looking for a place that could accommodate a reservation for 30. One of my cousins came out the box with Water for Chocolate! This intimate dining establishment showcases the talent, love, and passion of Chef/Owner Sean Guy and staff. Our reservation was for 30 people at 5pm on a Saturday. However, when we arrived we were a group of 50! Chef Guy and crew didn't even blink! With himself at the helm of the kitchen, and staff of 3, he had us all fed with dishes such as Gluten-Free Charred Red Snapper with Cilantro-Lime Rice and Broccolini, Vegetarian Black-Eyed Red Curry, Duck Risotto, and Ribeye Steaks; all within an hour and a half! Baby, let me tell you! Chef did not miss! You could see the discipline and taste the care that was put into every dish! There wasn't a single dish that was not worthy of extensive praise! If you're every in the Baltimore area, or a local. Make it a point to open your heart to all that is Water for Chocolate. Check it Out!!!

The plating was exquisite. The food was high quality. The restaurant was cozy perfect for a lunch or dinner date. This is not a place to bring larger parties to ; this is a place that is very intimate. My only concern was when I went the chef did not want to change the recipe at all but all wanted was no jalapeño which is understandable ! Overall this was a delightful meal although it was a little hard to eat because it was too spicy for my pallet .
