My son had tried whisking Ramen on a work trip and recommended it when we visited Anchorage. We made a reservation thankfully because the line was extremely long when we checked in it moved fairly quickly. The restaurant is beautiful and the food was superb. Our weight staff was excellent and very attentive. You need to check in upon arrival and those that had a reservation were taken to a table those who did not were given away time over an hour very nice establishment beautiful decor cocktails were very good. I would definitely recommend this restaurant if you’re visiting Anchorage.

First of all if you have the opportunity to seat at the bar, just ask for Taylor, you won’t regret it. She made the whole experience better, she was sweet, and had full knowledge about the dishes and drinks. Besides the incredible service we had incredible food. One of the best places me and my family ever been to. The pork buns are THE BEST. Just go for it and I promise you won’t regret.

Google
Pork bao was very good, steak tartare my son loved. I tried it for the first time ever and its not for me. The vegetarian ramen was outstanding, loved every bit of it. Dessert was funk but delicious. Service was great, would definitely return.

Staff were killer and made the absolute best first impression. I was dining solo and am always hesitant at busy places but so glad I came here! Kendrick, as well as Isaac, Stefan, and Tyler were a lovely team and executed a flawless meal. Some tourists nearby asked about the wait for their meal and they quickly brought a snack out for them. Super impressed and loved my drink, appetizer, and entree. The ambiance downstairs is the best and will be back to enjoy again!

Went here for my birthday and got adventurous with our order—no disappointments here! If you're a connoisseur of spirits, the selection is VAST. I went with the more subtle whiskey myself, but my friends cocktails intrigued me. I'll be returning soon; highly recommend!

Google
This was a cool place in Alaska that we went to. When go inside and meet with the the hostess who seats you and then you'd go downstairs in an area where there's lots of tables and chairs and benches and a bar and it was really nice. The food was excellent. The service was superior and I couldn't have imagined it being so pretty. It was so delicious and yes it was. We completely enjoyed this place.

Google
We only had one day in Anchorage and noticed this restaurant just a couple blocks from our hotel, so we decided to give it a try. The place was busy, but even as walk-ins they seated us right away (though I’d recommend making a reservation). Service was excellent. Our server was friendly and attentive. The vibe is definitely hip, the cocktails were spot-on, and the whiskey list is seriously impressive. We tried the ramen, pork buns, takoyaki, a couple cocktails, a local beer, and a single malt. We left completely happy and full.

Google
Anchorage might be known for salmon, reindeer sausage, and strong coffee that could wake a grizzly, but I traded all that for something unexpected, Whisky & Ramen. Part speakeasy, part Japanese izakaya, this spot feels like someone mashed together Tokyo street food, Alaska soul, and a splash of cocktail wizardry. The name alone hooked me because really, who doesn’t want their noodles with a side of whisky fire? Started the evening with a glass that looked more like a garden centerpiece than a cocktail, the Southern Anorak. Mango-chili shrub, ginger-infused honey, citrus, and ginger beer. Basically, Alaska decided to wear a tropical jacket and throw a party in my glass and yes, it was as good as it looked. Then came appetizers: Izakaya cucumbers (proof that even vegetables can dress up for a night out) and Hamachi Crudo, a bright plate of yellowtail with citrus chili kosho, black garlic, jalapeño-parsley oil, mandarin, and even little seagrapes. If that sounds fancy, it’s because it was and I felt like the fish was hosting its own art exhibition on my plate. For the main act, the Sugamo Star ramen, a chicken dominant shoyu chintan broth with noodles, sous vide chicken breast chashu, menma, egg, yuzu frisée, scallion, and just enough black truffle to make me wonder if I should have worn a tuxedo to dinner. And for the finale? A showstopper! Miso Baked Alaska, miso caramel folded into sweet cream ice cream with kinako cake, all topped in meringue and then literally set on fire with whisky. If dessert can double as both dinner and pyrotechnics, this was it. Turns out one of the best dinner pairings in Anchorage isn’t salmon and sourdough, it’s whisky and ramen. Comfort food meets cocktail hour!

Yelp
First time in Anchorage and Whisky & Ramen was on our list to try. The interior was sleek and beautiful. Service was attentive and welcoming When it came to the food we were impressed with their presentation, quality of ingredients and creativity. Their take on the scotch egg was awesome and something I'd definitely order again. Given we were in Alaska we ordered a few other seafood items which were also delicious The desserts were beautiful and delicious Highly recommend Whisky & Ramen if you're in Anchorage for an innovative and yummy meal

Yelp
Amazing experience at whisky and ramen. We had reservations (which i recommend to do) and got seated promptly. The ambiance gives traditional Japanese and very classy. For appetizer, we got the pork buns which were full of flavor and perfect for 2. Next, the ramen. Mine was amazing and my friend said the same. The broth's flavor profile was so elevated beyond a traditional ramen broth. 5/5 recommend. Last but not least, the baked alaska. The whole experience of them lighting it on fire in front of you is fun. It was a good dessert, the ice cream was a tad bit freezer burnt but that's being very nit picky. It was a little over $100 for 2 people to dine, which I think is fair for what we got and the experience. Def recommend if in Anchorage!

Yelp
There was a wait to get in for dinner of about 30 minutes (less than the projected 1 hour+), but it was well worth the wait. I would recommend reservations if you feasible, but they do have a waiting area. We were seated at the bar with a direct view of the cooks. It was like watching The Bear (without the intensity) while enjoying our dinner We ordered a drink and Shishito peppers to start. The peppers were quite hot and not as flavorful as some of the others I've had in the past. We ordered the buns (vegan option) to reduce the edge of the pepper dish and they were excellent. The drink, Flowers of the Edo, was tasty with a smoky flavor. I saw a few people ordered an old fashioned (with a matcha twist) and everyone who got it seemed happy with it. We will try it next time we are here. The star of the evening was the vegan Ramen bowl. It was tasty, filling and had a range of flavors from hot to creamy. I wish there were more vegetarian ramen options as I would like to try something different on my next visit. The baked Alaska comes with a whisky on fire that the server poured on the dish at our table, a nice spectacle. It is a large dessert and can easily be shared between two (or 4) people. This was between a 4 and 5 for me, giving 5 because I had a nice enjoyable meal.

Yelp
Such a great gem in the middle of the city. The food was amazing. They have very creative cocktails. We sat at the bar to eat because it was super busy even on a Tuesday. Highly recommend to make reservations. It is very expensive so would recommend to go for special occasion/date night. We didn't end up eating ramen but the staff was very knowledgeable in describing their menu. Ended up having a special seafood small plate and halibut cheeks. Will definitely be back to try the ramen.

Yelp
Finally made my way to Whiskey and Ramen. I absolutely adore this spot. The interior was surprising as you walk in and see a massive open area with seating below it. We got there right at open so it wasn't busy. We didnt have a reservation but they were able to seat us right away. It did fill up by the time we left but tye bar seating always seemed to have at least one spot available. Now for the part we care about the food! We started with their Pork Buns, they were saucy and the peppers give a nice heat, the meat itself is a little dry and clings to the teeth but the sauce makes up for it. We each had our own ramen bowls and each as tasty as the next. The Dark Horse had a nice spicy kick and everything in bowl was gone by the end of the meal. I had the Outsider which was very nutty and the noodles were perfect, I needed an extra order of the mushroom ragu, on top it was amazing. Our cocktail & mocktail were both delicious and paired well with the meal nothing overpowering. We finished withe dessert walk, the dango.... I will think of those often. I wish they had those as an individual order. But all in all I can't recommend them enough. I will definitely be back before the end of the month.

Yelp
Two of my favorites in one restaurant? I knew i'd have to stop in and dine here while on vacation in Anchorange. Whisky & Ramen's menu consists of izakaya dishes, Ramen and craft cocktails. FYI- I highly recommend making a reservation via open table. Don't worry of you don't make a reservation, the restaurant will take walk-ins and seat you at the whisky bar or ramen counter. What we ordered and enjoyed Blistered shishito peppers Whisky pork buns Alaskan weathervane scallops The hook Drinks Komorebi old fashioned Old fashioned Wow, every dish was absolutely incredible! My only tiny gripe was that the noodles in the hook weren't ramen, but honestly, the amazing broth totally made up for it! And let's not forget the old fashioneds--simply fantastic! I was especially captivated by the delightful matcha notes in the komorebi old fashioned. What a treat! Awesome food and ambiance- I'm a fan!!

Yelp
Surprise me! Exceptional ramen in Anchorage at a restaurant that is beautiful, delicious and has craft cocktails that will surprise you! Try the desserts - legit baked Alaska! The service was exceptional. Somehow the reservation system allowed a late (11:30 pm) booking and the staff not only called but were visibly relieved when we arrived early. Not their mistake and you could feel their genuine desire to make sure we had a great experience. We certainly did! Bravo!

Yelp
It was unexpectedly modern ambience, affordable place with good menu. I had not eaten ramen in a restaurant style. This was for surprise quite good fine dining experience. Server was well informed and explained oir qierries very well. There were few options for vegetarian, I ordered Sake, Umeboshi salad which had very good taste of pickled raddish, cashews, green chicpeas, Outsider ramen was only vegetarian option made in mushroom broth and tasted good, I enjoyed eating it with chopsticks too, dessert was presented like top chef style made of sweet potato based gelato Overall left a lomg lasting impression on my mind, body and soul.

Yelp
This was my 25th birthday meal and it was fantastic. My Alaskan friends recommended this place to me because they know ramen is one of my favorite foods. We were able to sample between several wines before we committed to a bottle. We got the Chateau Ste Michelle Cabernet Savignon. It was delicious. My shoyu ramen was super light and satisfying. The noodles had the perfect texture. my favorite item had to be the baked Alaska dessert. this completely blew me away. It was sweet and savory and it had delicious and competing textures with crumbly texture mixed with ice cream and the marshmallowy encasing. Our server was also super sweet and attentive.

Yelp
I was recommended by another restaurant, who was booked out, to check out Whiskey & Ramen for dinner. It did not disappoint. I am currently on a no-pork diet, so the only option I had was their vegan ramen. I never tried vegan ramen before, so I was hesitant to try it. I ordered it anyway, and I am pleasantly surprised how flavorful the dish. I ended up trying vegan ramen at other restaurants after my experience at Whisky & Ramen, and I still think Whisky & Ramen does it the best. The service was extremely attentive and and waiter is very accommodating. We got a Baked Alaska dessert for the table, but I can't have a lick of alcohol for personal reasons. The waiter was able to split the dessert so some of us had the full presentation with the flame while I was able to eat a slice without the alcohol. Highly recommended restaurant to check out in Downtown Anchorage!

Yelp
This is a very trendy, cool whisky and ramen restaurant. We sat at the bar since it is very popular and reservations are highly recommended. Our bartender/waitress was amazing. She was very cool, knowledgeable, and enjoyable to have conversations. The food is amazing. Ordered the scallops and tsukemen. Scallops were made well and very tasty. The fried risotto was a great addition to the scallops. The tsukemen soup was full of flavor. The noodles are made in-house and has a great chew. The pork is crunchy and juicy. I happened to ask if the restaurant offered a soup-wari with the tsukemen. I guess normally it is not offered as many people don't ask for it. It is typically offered with tsukemen in Japan. However, our bartender asked the chief since he was working. And did make for me since it was a bit slow at the time and he was happy to provide as people that know tsukemen know of the soup-wari. Probably not going to always be provided but got lucky on the timing. Amazing place in Anchorage for locals and tourists in my opinion.

Yelp
My friend recommended Whisky and Ramen so I decided to check it out for myself since I was staying near by. They highly recommend reservations and will also take a limited number of walk ins every night. I was seated at the ramen bar and the server was very quick to bring me water and take my order which I appreciated. The food actually came out so fast that it showed up before my cocktail which was a bit odd. The Dark Horse is one of the most popular ramen dishes so I decided to give it a try. I didn't hate it by any means, but something didn't strike a chord with me either, and I want to say it was the flavoring of the broth. Having been to Japan and had some seriously good ramen, I guess my expectation was a bit high. However, the cucumbers with the miso paste were very much on point. The ramen was good overall but not in particular my favorite. The overall ambiance in here was modern and great. The Flowers of Edo was very spirit forward and I enjoyed the smokiness of it thoroughly. Definitely worth a visit when in Anchorage.

Yelp
5.0 because the hype is real! It's a beautiful restaurant, love the architecture and interior layout. Service was great and our waitress Jackie was wonderful! All the food that we ordered were fresh, flavorful, and visually pleasing. The wings are well cooked, juicy, and flavorful. I think we ordered it 3x because the kids really enjoyed them as well. Cucumbers are lightly pickled and crunchy. Takoyaki was also done well and the hamachi was clearly a big hit with our group since it was ordered multiple times. The vegan ramen is good but I wish there were more oyster mushrooms in it instead of the arugula/salad greens (which doesn't make much sense to me). Shittake mushroom and enoki mushroom are good and all but king oyster just rules supreme. The cashew broth is creamy and savory. I didnt order alcohol but others did and they approved of it. I was too full by the end of dinner to try their desserts. Someone ordered the Sakura cake which looked so pretty. They must've enjoyed it because nothing was left by the time they finished it. Also bonus points for the warm Toto bidets! Brought back memories from my trips to Seoul and Japan.

Yelp
Stumbled upon this spot while exploring downtown, and I'm so glad we were able to snag seats at the bar. The ambiance is clean, modern, and fresh. The bar area has a lively, "cool kids" vibe--fun and energetic without being overwhelming. Don't skip the drinks! The cocktails were fantastic, and our bartender Kendrick really elevated the experience with his service and personality. We started with the wings and pork buns--both packed with amazing flavor and cooked perfectly. I went with the Business Lounge ramen because I was intrigued by the peanut flavor, and it did not disappoint. The nutty richness with a subtle heat on the finish was absolutely delicious. A great find--definitely worth checking out if you're in the area!

Yelp
Solo night sat at the bar. The service was fantastic. Ambiance and lighting, cleanliness all great. The drink selection (though I didn't get any) was beautiful and innovative and the bar tender did a great job at explaining their house made selections. I ordered the buns and the hook ramen. The ramen was flavorful and recommended. The buns had great flavor but unfortunately were soggy. I also ordered the baked Alaska but the server needed up putting too much whiskey on it which the bar tender did comment on so it ended up overpowering the dessert. Would definitely recommend this place and will for sure go back.

Yelp
This was my third visit to Whiskey and Ramen, and once again, it did not disappoint! While I still haven't tried their ramen (I know, I know, but I am not quite sure I like ramen), I keep coming back for their incredible steaks and the amazing Stroll Down Takeshita. In my opinion, Whiskey and Ramen serves the best steak in Anchorage. On my first visit, I got the tomahawk, which was juicy, flavorful, and perfectly cooked. On my second visit, I tried the ribeye, which was just as impressive. This most recent visit brought me back to the tomahawk, and it was every bit as delicious as I remembered. The sweet potato that accompanies the steaks is probably the best sweet potato I have ever had. The quality of the meat, the seasoning, and the preparation are consistently top notch. The service at Whiskey and Ramen is always exceptional. The staff is attentive, friendly, and knowledgeable, making each visit feel special. The ambiance is another highlight, it's cozy yet sophisticated, with a vibe that's perfect for a date night, a celebration, or just treating yourself to a great meal. Overall, I can't recommend Whiskey and Ramen enough.

Yelp
This place was delicious. We were sat at the bar and Kendrick was who took car of us. His service was amazing and his drinks were even better. We had fun talking to him while he had a minute but also watching as he multitasked the entire evening! This was a great place for date night and we want to go back!

Yelp
Liked / Liked / Liked / Liked / Liked / Liked / Liked / Liked / Everything here is so yummy! The drinks and food were all tasty! The wings made me want to order more and more! Their version of scotch egg is also delicious and unexpected I'm so glad we got it. Such a pretty restaurant and great vibe Service was excellent, they recommended really good drinks that fit exactly what we were looking for Disliked / Disliked / Disliked / Disliked / Disliked / Disliked / There wasn't anything I didn't like about this restaurant. If anything, I only disliked that I couldn't eat more!!! lol

Yelp
I've been working my way through their ramen options, and so far each has been delicious. Their cocktails are tasty and interesting and the whiskey list is amazing. Service has been great each time I've been. I like the ambiance and the bidets in the bathroom are a nice touch . Good choice for a special night out.

Yelp
Ramen shop with a line to get in and reservation preferred. Walk-ins are welcome as I was a walk-in and seated right away. I was seated at the kitchen bar. It is a great spot to sit enjoy watching the harmony of the head chef and team hard at work. Had the pleasure to meet with Mike their head chef. Had a nice noodle talk. . I absolutely enjoyed the Sugamo Star ramen. This was a thick shoyu broth with awesome noodles and toppings to boot. Service was friendly and no issues finding a seat w/out a reservation. Just stood in line at opening time and was seated right away. Whiskey Ramen has been bookmarked in Yelp and will return when in town. Thank you Whiskey Ramen.

Yelp
As you may know, ramen is my boyfriend's favorite food. I have therefore eaten a lot of it. This is easily one of the top three IF NOT BEST ramen I've ever had in my entire life. I am not entirely sure what made it so good. The meat was super tender and the broth was just incredible. You MUST go here if you are in Anchorage and like ramen. It did take a while though (I ended up being a bit late for a work meeting). Oh well - it was worth it! I'm literally sitting here thinking about going back before I leave....

Yelp
Trivia: What color does matcha powder make the old-fashioned? It was a blustery Thursday night and some friends had invited us out for dinner. We met just inside the door at Whiskey and Ramen. No reservations had been made, which I honestly thought might be a problem. But they were completely accommodating (I had heard it was impossible to get a table if one didn't have reservations). The whole "sunken" restaurant provided a very suave ambiance. Service quickly had our drinks up and our appetizer plated. Food was out shortly after the appetizer was finished. I enjoyed every bite of my food and spent a decent bit of time wondering how each flavor complimented the others. I was satisfied and happy. Service was spectacular. It was helpful without being overpowering. Nice without fake.

Yelp
Restaurant has an interesting layout. Upstairs is waiting area with a sit down bar. Middle section downstairs is the restaurant where you can people watch. The bar area doesn't have enough standing room to wait. we ended uo going to another bar across while we waited staff is friendly and helpful our appetizer of peppers and wings were ok. wings was more like fusion which confused me on what kind of wings they were ramen was of high quality and good taste. very reasonably prices. wagyu beef was ok. It was good but not for the price. Yam the dish came with out of this world tasty. I wish they had that as a side order. Overall, this is solid place for anchorage. I would be mindful of price as some dishes are not worth the $ while other dishes like ramen are fabulous. Maybe that's why it's called Whisky and Ramen!!!

Yelp
Truly one of my best dining experiences in recent history. I've put off writing a review for months partly because I've been trying to come up with the perfect words to encapsulate how much I enjoyed dining here. I initially tried to come to Whisky & Ramen on a Saturday night in August and was told the wait would be an hour, so I decided to make reservations for another day and I'm glad I did. The ambiance is elegant and comfortable. The server was incredibly attentive and knowledgeable about the menu. My boyfriend is sensitive to gluten so the server made recommendations for modifications. The hamachi crudo was fresh and beautifully arranged. Great start to the meal. I ordered the Dark Horse. The noodles, pork, and egg were perfectly cooked. The only criticism I have is I wish it came with more broth since it was delicious. The cocktails are as good as the food. My favorite was the Komorebi Old Fashioned, a cocktail with whiskey, matcha, sugar, and orange bitters. The drink is smooth, not too sweet or too bitter, and comes with a large imprinted ice cube which is a nice touch. For dessert I had the seasonal special strawberry sando, which was like a hybrid of a bao bun and a strawberry shortcake. A refreshing way to end the meal. Definitely one of the more unique and upscale dining options in Anchorage. I look forward to coming back!

Yelp
This was my first time in Alaska, so naturally, I asked the locals where to eat. Whisky & Ramen came up over and over again. You will need to make reservations because it really is that good. We had a party of 5 and had to break our reservation into two parties but they kindly seated us together. We started with cocktails and loved the creativity and range of options. Note: If you are looking for something fun, order the BB Queen (see video). We ordered some small plates: pickle plate and the shishito peppers. Both were fresh and flavorful. Then we each ordered a different type of ramen. All were fantastic, but the standout was the vegan "Outsider." Made with pulverized cashews, the broth is unctuous and the flavor so well developed that I wouldn't have know it was vegan. The mushrooms added a meatiness and the noodles were perfect. Our meal was so good that we had to try the desserts. I ordered the matcha panna cotta, a light dish that matched nicely with the spots of fruit sauces, raspberries, and strawberry dust. It looked like a piece of art! The star of the dessert show, however, was their updated Baked Alaska, which is flambéed tableside (see video). What a treat! I must also say that our server Alex was extremely knowledgeable and very attentive. He even brought the chef out to answer our after dinner questions about the culinary magic he wielded. Chef was humble and shared his journey with us, noting that Whisky & Ramen is only a couple of years old! There are so many things that Whisky & Ramen does well that it is a must-have experience if you are ever in Anchorage. I can only imagine how amazing it will be as it continues to gain experience and try new things!

Yelp
Delicious dinner spot in downtown Anchorage close to the Balto statue. They make all their broths in house. Would have been five stars but my husband's ramen came out a little colder than we would have liked. I would return again.

Yelp
All around 5 stars. Great food, excellent flavors. The ramen is insanely good. Also had the wings (they were solid), pork buns which I really liked and the A5 tartar. All very good. I went here a few times on my 4 days stay in anchorage .

Yelp
Vibe? 10/10. The space has this modern western chic feel--warm wood, moody lighting, stylish without trying too hard. Instantly felt like I made the right call. I sat at the bar and ordered a Sapporo, the pork buns, and the Dark Horse ramen. Pork buns: Flavor was solid, pork was tender, but the bao could've been warmer. They weren't cold, just not as fresh and steamy as I'd hoped. Ramen: Rich, smooth, and super flavorful. The broth leaned a little more "sauce" than "soup"--thick and creamy. I liked it, but I wish there had been more of it. Service was fine on timing, but kind of a miss otherwise. The bartender was much friendlier to the guests next to me and didn't even ask how my food was. Not a huge deal, but definitely noticeable. Would I go back? Yep. The atmosphere and flavors are worth a repeat visit. Just might opt for a table next time.

Yelp
I was so hesitant to try Whiskey and Ramen since I wanted a pretty fancy dinner, it being my first time in Alaska and all. I was thinking "Ramen, really? Idk about that". I'm so glad I changed my mind because W&R was OUT of this world. The first sign should have been the interior, extremely elegant and classy on the bottom floor and the bar was even more beautiful. First of all, if you're worried about the Ramen, don't be. It was absolutely fantastic, we did the hook since we wanted a pork broth and added a few extra eggs and chashu in that thing & it was so flavorful. Decided on a few appetizers (Carpaccio, Takoyaki, Hamachi Crudo) all were amazing. The Takoyaki came out PIPING hot which is my favorite. I love my food so hot it's about to burn my mouth . Finished things off with the Australian Ribeye. It comes pre-cut and was a thick one. I savored every single bite, but the sweet potato that came with it???? My GOODNESS!!! As you can see everything was amazing. Even though they are known for their whiskey, I was so in love with all of their cocktails. Every single one better than the last. This place left a great impression, I think I'll be back every time I'm in Alaska. Food was amazing but the service was even better. Thanks for the great time W&R maybe next time I'll try a few of your whiskeys

Yelp
Ramen is great. Whiskey selection is outstanding. Price for food is good for the quality. And service was also very good. Ambience was pleasant. Opens for dinner only and need reservations. Highly recommend for any occasion.

Yelp
We decided to visit Whisky & Ramen after hearing and reading great things from both YouTubers and fellow Yelpers. Although we didn't have a reservation, we got seated at the ramen bar, which was perfect since I've been trying to master making ramen at home (from noodles to broth). This was the place I hoped would satisfy my craving for authentic ramen, given that Japan is a bit far from Florida! I ordered the Dark Horse ramen, and my wife tried the Outsider. As a non-ramen fan, she was hesitant, but she tagged along knowing how much I love finding good ramen spots. The Dark Horse was everything I hoped for. Rich flavors, umami-packed broth, tender pork, and tender homemade noodles that had that ideal stretchiness. The medium-boiled eggs were perfectly colored--a nice touch I'll try to replicate at home. It wasn't overly fatty, which can be a concern with ramen, but it still delivered full flavor. The Outsider, a vegan ramen, took my wife by surprise. Despite not being a fan of traditional ramen due to the meat-heavy broths, she was impressed by the depth of flavors. She even declared it the best ramen she's ever had--which, I'll admit, stung a little since I've tried making it for her at home before! Their whiskey selection was extensive. I paired my ramen with Buffalo Trace, and it was smooth--whiskey and ramen are a match made in heaven. The staff was incredibly friendly, from the hostess to the bartender and the ramen servers. Cory, one of the team members, even stopped by for a quick chat. One unique highlight was the Japanese toilet in the restroom--if you've never experienced one, you're in for a treat! All in all, this place is a gem. For someone who's been reviewing restaurants for over two years, this was a rare 5-star experience. I'll definitely be back to Alaska for the ramen--and the fishing!

Yelp
In Anchorage for a day on business, decided to stop into this restaurant and it was worth it. Honestly, feeling welcomed when walking into an establishment is very important for me and the host tonight did just that. Very peaceful vibe downstairs, waiter was attentive and knowledgeable. The ramen was probably the best I've had since being Japan, the broth was almost finished before I was even half way done with the noodles because it was so good! Definitely ordering some extra on the side next time Im in town. I'm not a whiskey guy, I like my tequila and the ONE option they had blew my mind. Whiskey and ramen gave me the best introduction to Anchorage.

Yelp
The Good: good Ramen, amazing whiskey selection, top notch waitstaff, beautiful setting. The Ugly: Unfriendly hostess did not set a good tone for the meal - she is definitely in wrong job. We were there at 5pm on Thursday during Fur Rondy and the place was almost empty. We asked for a table and the hostess looked us up and down and told us it was a 3 hour wait for a table. When we left, most of the tables were still empty. No matter what it says on their website, you will not get a table here without a reservation. They seat all walk-ins at the bar which is uncomfortable and very loud. Do not eat here if you want a relaxing meal. Cocktail was mostly a tall glass of ice - not worth the price.

Yelp
Whisky & Ramen, what an experience! Visited for the first time on a Saturday night to celebrate my spouses birthday. We made a reservation at the whisky bar. On the walk downstairs we were really able to take in the decor as a whole. Very thoughtful and romantic. Definitely 1 of 1 when it comes to that. The whisky bar seating set up, reminds me of The Flamingo Lounge in Seward. You definitely have the potential to take someone's food or drink down just by walking by. I have sensory issues am always worried about slimy noodles. The bowls with Udon noodles would be more slimy I was told, so I steered clear of that. I so loved how our server was able to answer every question and offer us her recommendations, which we appreciated. The wing appetizer was laughable but tasty. We got a spicy noodle bowl and one that wasn't as spicy. Both were recommendations and both were delicious. My spouse is a chopstick pro, me not so much, thankfully they had a fork available for me. The only real negative is that this is more of a special occasion place. We paid $160+ for 2 bowls of soup, 5 wings, 4 cocktails and a dessert.

Yelp
Such a well décorated, tasty place! The décor and ambiance would be wonderful for a date night. Came here because it was my birthday and a friend took me out. We had a wonderful Time. Everything we ordered from the drinks, entrée to desserts were beautiful and delicious. Server was attentive, nice and food came very promptly. We got the Whisky Pork Bun for an appetizer and my Friends Said she could eat it everyday. I got the ramen hook and it was delicious. Broth had great depth. The matcha panna cotta was beautifully presented. Highly recommend and will come back.

Yelp
Food and drinks were so delicious! Everything tasted very clean and flavorful. I will be returning. Tia was very nice and attentive. Thankfully they were able to accommodate a walk in. Side note but super exciting the bathroom has heated seats and a bidet!

Yelp
What a beautiful place! Food was exceptional, as was service. Here for 3 nights, I would be stunned if anywhere else looks nicer inside. So glad we got in, well done.

Yelp
If you're a ramen and cocktail lover, this whiskey ramen spot is a must-visit! I was blown away by their BB Queen cocktail, which delivers a smoky citrus burst and is dramatically presented with a smoke bubble--both Instagram-worthy and delicious! I ordered the sugamo star. chicken broth-based ramen stole the show. Unlike the heavier, creamy varieties, this broth was fresh, light, and packed with umami--perfectly complementing the bold flavors of the cocktails. My friend ordered the dipping noodle. She liked it. The atmosphere strikes the perfect balance between Japanese authenticity and American-style comfort, making it a welcoming spot whether you're on a date or just unwinding after work. The service was top-notch, with staff providing personalized, friendly recommendations that enhanced the experience. Pro tip: Make a reservation on OpenTable if you're visiting on a Friday or Saturday, as it gets busy. But if you prefer a more relaxed vibe, weekdays are perfect with little to no wait time. 10/10 would return--this place is a hidden gem!

Yelp
If you are on the hunt for a place that combines incredible food, a fantastic atmosphere, and top service, Whisky & Ramen is a MUST VISIT. From the moment you step inside, you're greeted by a clean, modern design that creates a welcoming and stylish vibe. The staff here truly go above and beyond! Everyone is friendly, attentive, and happy to offer recommendations if you are feeling indecisive. The food? Absolutely phenomenal! We started with the Whisky Pork Buns; they are soft, flavorful, and the perfect balance of savory and smoky goodness. For the entree, I chose the Hook, it is absolutely outstanding. The broth is rich and deeply satisfying, the noodles cooked to perfection, and the toppings thoughtfully selected to enhance every bite. The presentation of each dish is impaccable, making the dining experience all the more enjoyable. Whisky & Ramen also boasts a full bar, and their drink offerings are just as impressive as the food. Whether you are in the mood for a classic cocktail, a fine wine, or a house drink, you won't be disappointed. Overall, Whisky & Ramen delivers a memorable dining experience with flavorful dishes, excellent drinks, and top notch service. This is a spot you will want to visit again and again.

Yelp
The place looks beautiful and we had no issues getting a spot on bar without reservations. I love the open kitchen concept. Quite interesting to see your food being made. The food itself - I got the umeboshi salad - this looked wonderful. All the ingredients were fresh. The flavour unfortunately was on the sweeter side that hid the flavour of raw veggies. Ramen - good portion side. I got extra egg. The flavour was good but much too oily for me and I wish the broth was a little thinner. Overall good flavours for sure, but nothing too special. Personally I won't revisit.

Yelp
Words to describe this place: fabulous, luxurious, casual, outstanding. This place took me by surprise! As I walked in, I was starstruck at the size of the place and unique structure. Our service was excellent start to finish. Our waiter took great care of us, provided us with recommendations, and was able to answer our questions. The food was delicious! My friend and I ordered The Hook and substituted the noodles for wavy noodles. We finished it all. We also ordered drinks: ginger beer and the BB Queen. The presentation of the BB Queen was spectacular! Last but not at all least, my jaw was on the floor when I walked into the restroom. Not only is it gorgeous, the toilets had heated seats and options for a bidet. Overall 10/10 experience.

Yelp
Best ramen of my life!! I wish I had this ramen place back home! The business lounge ramen I got had hints of peanut in it but it was subtle and well balanced. I loved how the pork was ground instead of the pieces. It made all the flavors blend together and the broth was insanely flavorful. My husband got the chicken broth ramen and he also devoured it. The ambience of the restaurant was beautiful and the service was exceptional. Make a reservation if going here!

Yelp
If I could give this place 10 stars, I would. Simply said, BEST ramen spot in Alaska. It's worth all the hype and the busyness, been here a couple times and it's been absolutely delicious. The staff is so knowledgeable about what they serve and are very comfortable to talk to. The ambiance is top notch, they couldn't have made it better. Dim lighting, comfortable seats, high end decor and bidets in the bathroom tells you everything you need to know. This place strives for luxury, and they've achieved it. Can't wait to be back!!

Yelp
I finally got to try out Whiskey & Ramen and I am SO glad I did. I loved the ambiance. It's really beautiful and refreshingly new for Anchorage. Our waiter was very friendly and gave us the rundown since it was our first time. My husband has some food intolerances, but W&R handled them so well! They were able to sub gluten free noodles. I happened to ask if they considered adding chicken to any of their ramens (since it wasn't on the menu) for people with intolerances and our server said they absolutely could do that! My husband said his ramen, the Sugamo Star, was great. I ordered the Mallrat Fizz to drink, which was really good. The whiskey pork buns were great. They were sweet, smokey, and a bit spicy. I got The Dark Horse ramen and it was phenomenal! So much flavor. It was a lot of food, I had to take home leftovers, which also included dessert. The Chocolate Birthday Cake was really good. I love chocolate/cherry combos and it did not disappoint. I can't wait to go back!

Yelp
Ambiance: Fanciest Ramen place I've ever been too Service: We were a walk in upon opening for dinner and we were seated in 15minutes-ish at the bar area. If you really want to dine here, probably best to make a reservation as it was only available for bar seating on walk in. Bar service was great. The girl was attentive and nice. Was super nice sitting at the bar because we got to watch the chefs prep and make the dishes going out to the floor Food: Alright let's get into this! Keep in mind we are from Phoenix, Arizona and we have pretty good ramen so I might be a little tough. Dark Horse: Good Noodles, Good Eggs, Fail on the Broth. The broth itself was very thick. I felt like I was sucking down Japanese curry. The quantity as well of the broth was at its minimum. In the photo you can see the bowl is barely filled. There simply just wasn't enough broth in my opinion. I might be too traditional, but the pulled pork was just a little strange for me. I prefer my thick cut of chashu. Tokyo Rich Tsukemen: Good noodles, Okay pork and Okay broth. Again, the broth was not amazing (didn't warm my soul -haha) but better in its own right than the dark horse. The pork was better as it wasn't pulled but the pork was also very crispy to the point of slightly burnt. If you look closely in the photo you can see the edges are tinted black. Again, a little bias in the ramen opinions in our hometown, but this wouldn't be a place I'd personally go back to for ramen especially for the price. Giving a four star because (1) good service and beautiful ambiance. (2) the ramen was decent and wasn't necessarily bad - others might like it more than us (3) we watched them prep some amazing look wagyu beef and i can only imagine those were delicious as ever!

Yelp
Ambiance was great, gorgeous restaurant. Really love how they opened up the basement and created a wrap around mezzanine like level as the street level. Food (what I had of it) was great. The matcha old fashioned and the hamachi crudo app were on point. The reason why this is a 1-star review was due to the service. Waitress could not care less and started the whole interaction with a chip on her shoulder. A mistake was made during my service (I was dining alone at the upstairs ramen bar) that could have EASILY been smoothed over. I left my seat for about 3mins to quickly visit the restroom after finishing my appetizer and returned to my seat to find my place setting, rest of my cocktail, and my water cleared off. Right as I sat down my ramen bowl (which looked delicious) was delivered and I asked the person for a set of utensils since mine were taken. About 10minutes passed and the waitress returned, somewhat confused as to why I hadn't eaten my ramen. I explained that all of my stuff was cleared out during my quick restroom absence, she shrugged and rolled her eyes... haphazardly brought me new utensils and sloppily filled a replacement water glass (refusing to make eye contact in the process). After this interaction, I was a bit pissed off to say the least. I told her I wasn't going to eat or pay for cold noodles. I requested the bill for my appetizer and cocktail. The negative body language continued from her as she brought me the toast tablet to pay, I made sure to make clear eye contact with her when I pressed the "no tip" button. She turned around and walked away without saying a word. What could have easily been a 5 star review was an instant fail for me. I refuse to dine at restaurants that employ service staff like this.
