Yelp
Mount Everest has been dishing out some of the Valley's best Indian food for over 10 years.
Centrally located on Sahara by Palace Station, the location is nice and clean inside with great lighting.
I've been wanting some Indian food, buffet style, because Tik Tok tbh. I think a buffet is such a great value. I went last night but buffets are usually a lunch time thing. I couldn't fight the craving.
The food here is very well priced, especially with inflation and most restaurants having price increases.
Two giant samosas are $6, curries are about $15 an entree, and naan is about $3.
They have a huge menu of appetizers, different meat stews, and different vegetarian stews. There's also rice dishes, sides, and grilled options.
We got korma, tikka masala, and vindaloo for entrees.
Appetizers were veggie and lamb samosas and chicken momos.
All the food was really good. There wasn't anything I didn't like. I also thought they did the spice levels very accurate. My friend doesn't tolerate spicy and they accommodated.
Stand out items: cherry and nut naan. This was so good. It had a grated nut and pink filling. The sweetness was subtle and the nuttiness paired well. This naan was extra crisp and was one of my favorite bites.
Chicken momos: this is a dish I've heard of from Nepal. They're essentially like a Chinese dumpling but the spices are different. I don't mean this offensively but if you took a dumpling and put Indian spices into it, it's exactly what you'd think that to taste like. It was served with a cold orange sauce that is also hard to explain.
Overall I enjoyed this place. I'd give it five stars but a couple of things took it down. They aren't huge deals but 1. One of our samosa orders came with different samosas. With dietary restrictions, biting into something with a filling you weren't expecting can be.. bad. 2. A little leaves that dishes were served at very different temperatures. Appetizers were all hot and fresh but one of the stews/curries was luke warm and for food safety reasons that's always a let down. I'm not sure if they just like to serve things all at once and something cooled down or what but taking a bit of barely warm food is a let down.
Aside from that the food was good, staff was fine, dining room looked nice and clean and bright, and the prices are good. I will definitely be back for a la carte Indian food.
