Modern Middle Eastern dishes with creative twists and fresh pita

"This Lebanese Syrian restaurant is part of a strip of Middle Eastern restaurants on the Atlantic. It’s an easy walk-in spot, popular during brunch, featuring a menu of pistachio croissants, a dukkah-spiced bacon-egg-and-cheese sandwich, and an omelet with parsley and sumac dressing." - Eater Staff

"A Middle Eastern–influenced new American spot in Brooklyn Heights characterized by a vertical garden, rope-and-Edison-bulb lighting and a trendy, dim interior; it’s used in the series as the setting for a professor-student meetup and intimate conversations." - Madeleine Davies

"I found offerings from this Cobble Hill restaurant at the market, including pork shawarma tacos and bulger fried rice." - Stefanie Tuder
"Boutros is a place in Brooklyn Heights where you can get some food that’s a mix of Middle Eastern, Italian, and American. Expect things like labneh crostini, kale tabbouleh, and pizza with mozzarella and aleppo pepper. It’s an interesting combination, and the food is pretty solid, although we wouldn’t say this place is really destination-worthy. If you happen to live in the area, however, it’s a good spot to know about. Bring some people who want to try something new or stop by with a date when you forgot to make a reservation and need a place that’ll have a table last-minute. There are a bunch of potted plants and hanging Edison bulbs inside, and you can share a pizza and some steak." - Bryan Kim
