The Ginger Room

Have been here a few times now, it’s a great spot for classic English high tea (or afternoon tea). Good to know— people get dressed up to go here. The owner is very involved and lovely to chat with. Scones and everything very delicious except for the clotted cream, which was butter, not clotted cream. Be sure to make a reservation in advance as they typically don’t take walk ins, and very important to show up on time as each table has a time limit of 1hr 30 mins in order to prepare for the next seating. Plenty of dedicated parking behind the building.

What a unique and pretty way to celebrate a girls day out. My friends surprised me for my birthday and we all felt like queens. We tried three different teas- mango smelt and tasted incredible, ginger and chai also equally delicious. The mini sandwiches were refreshing. The scones AMAZING. Pastries were so pretty and good.

Absolutely excellent! My hubby is picky and only turned down two items. Scones were amazing. It was my first time trying clotted cream but I can honestly say I prefer the lemon spread over it. Well worth it. Only downside was while dessert was varied, if you want to try everything you have to cut it into parts so each person gets some.

Lovely tea time for a friends birthday! The cucumber sandwich could have been a bit crispier and the clotted cream was more like butter consistency which was odd. The teas were very tasty, especially the Earl Grey cream.

This tea room is cute and, when physically there, the service is great; However, getting someone on the phone to make a (required) reservation is very challenging at times. Once you do have someone on the phone you’re obligated to give them your card number over the phone for a deposit. While the food is tasty the bill is higher than the value of the food. Very expensive for the experience and lacking a few tea room stables like sugar cubes and teapot burners, etc. The tea gets cold quickly. Ashamed, because the folks that own it are nice, but we will not be back.

Visited today for a family special occasion. Service was horrible. Two in our party were told three times that they were out of what was ordered. Probably 20 minutes in between each. Never received one of our teas. Our waitress was thoroughly confused as she was trying to finalize our bill but was somehow certain that the included 20% gratuity could not be adjusted. Very, very disappointed especially given the price. Giving two stars because the food that we did receive was quite good. Won’t be visiting again, plenty of other tea rooms.

Very expensive. Tiny portions. Clotted cream was actually butter. Food was very tasty but portions so small I had to eat when I came home. Fruit tea is absolutely amazing. Service very good. People very friendly and nice. When ordering Scones I was served one small scone. It would have been so much more satisfying to have one large scone or two smaller scones. I felt like I was just paying for the experience. Afternoon tea is very overpriced. The venue is very lovely and felt homely. The food experience was underwhelming. Tasted lovely but extremely small amounts. There definitely needs to be a lot more!

High tea was a lot of fun! The decor was beautiful, and the ladies who took card of us were friendly and attentive. We especially enjoyed sampling each other's teas. 😋 A grab and take of ginger yums was a nice ending. Thanks for a great experience!

What an absolutely precious place! I've had afternoon tea at other houses in the Atlanta area and I believe this is my favorite one so far! I love all the unique decor and atmosphere. The servers are all fantastic. The small bites and teas were all delicious. We came here for a girlfriend's birthday and had the best time. There is a two hour limit, but otherwise everything was great. Parking is via a private parking lot.

The Ginger Room is everything you could imagine and MORE. From the dainty teacups to the gorgeous chandeliers, I had such a wonderful time. The servers were attentive, the restrooms are top notch standard of clean. This is a historic house, and they have transformed it to its beautiful luster art and historic charm. I will absolutely be back for more!

Tea for two, please! What a cute little building and concept. Took my mom here for her birthday and we had the best time! My mom has always loved tea (never a coffee drinker) so naturally, I grew up drinking and loving tea time with her. When I stumbled upon this place online, I knew it was the perfect spot to celebrate my mom. You MUST book reservations in advance (at least 48 hours is required) for Afternoon or High Tea, and space is very limited. I called and made the reservation via phone and had to pay a deposit to hold the reservation which went towards the total bill. There's a large parking lot in the back. Afternoon Tea was about $50 per person and came with their "Traditional Tea Tower". This included a selection of finger sandwiches (Smoked Salmon & Chive, Coronation Chicken, Classic Cucumber & Dill, Egg & Watercress, Pimento Cheese), Fresh Scones and Clotted Cream (made in-house), Jams, Lemon Curd, and a various dessert assortment. They will also serve a sample of fresh ginger juice upon request. Both of us got to choose a 24oz pot of tea from their incredible list of over 45 national and international teas. The tea pots, tower, and china were absolutely beautiful and I really felt like we were in a little old English tea house. They were even sweet enough to bring out a crown and a special little pie with a birthday candle for my mom! The only complaint I have is that we felt quite rushed the entire time. I understand that they have to keep to their reservations, but it almost feels like maybe they need to book less reservations in a day to accommodate for more enjoyment time. All in all, a very fun experience and celebration!

We had a nice experience, celebrating a birthday at The Ginger Room. There certainly was an adequate amount of finger sandwiches for the four ladies attending the tea. I would suggest a variety of bread for the sandwiches. Our sandwiches were served on the same bread, same soft texture. The fillings were good but it became monotonous with the same bread. Service was attentive. The variety of sweets was very nice and attractively displayed in a china plate tower. The Ginger Room is a nice place to celebrate a special day.

I got the chance to check out the ginger room and it is such a wonderful experience. The building that ginger is in is actually the oldest house in Alpharetta built in the 1800s. I am not a tea drinker but wanted to experience the whole British high tea. The owners are absolutely amazing. They walk you through the teas and the treats. Telling you how to properly stir your tea and even what it means to have your pinky up. I can see this is a great date experience, girls brunch or lunch or even a great place to take your little mini me to have tea. If you are interested in checking them out I would say you need to book now. They are already booked up for a month. It can be quite difficult to get a reservation. And for the holidays I hear it is quite gorgeous inside. This is a must try experience!

An authentic, great experience! Will definitely return. Parking available in the rear of the building. A reservation and deposit for afternoon or high tea are required, but you cannot make the deposit online. You must do it over the phone. Without an advance deposit, your reservation will be cancelled. Be aware the gratuity is added to your deposit and your final bill.

We did high tea and it ended up about $150 for 2 for the top tier package which comes with a savory entree + tower + pot of tea This place gets super crowded so you have to make a reservation most days I think. They have tea, sipping chocolate, coffee, cafe style entrees, pastries and more. It was kinda hard to tell what's for sale vs what's decoration and prices are not on all items that you can buy. I think generally the tea products are for sale and books, etc not? Im not sure because there were cookie boxes on the display that may or may not be for sale too. The shepherds pie was really good and so was the mango black tea and the chai. The tower came with a ton of food and we ended up with a couple boxes leftover to go home with The staff is friendly and the house has a very positive cute vibe I was so stuffed after all this but I def want to try their sipping chocolate sometime. We came bc we saw it on Instagram but everyone else in there (and I mean literally every other table) was celebrating a birthday and they do a little celebration for you to make yours special. So cute They have a ton of teas to choose from and food items. Worth the experience The parking lot is huge behind the house with plenty of free parking This place is perfect for a date, girls Sunday out, or a celebration

A lovely, charming place to have afternoon or high tea. Came here to celebrate a belated birthday and we both had a great time. Love all the decor and wonderful ambiance. The food was good, too. The lemon curd for the scone and clotted cream was out of this world good. We liked how some desserts were vegan and gluten free; all very delicious. We had the high tea, which included a savory dish. The Shepherd's pie was very tasty! Value wise, I thought it was a bit expensive. I've had afternoon tea twice at Ivy Tea House and at the St Regis. This was the most expensive out of all of them. It was $71 with tax for the high tea. Still, I don't regret going and would consider going again. The service was overall good but the waiters need a little improvement here. The waiters seemed very confused. First they brought a Shepherd's pie to our table (we both ordered) and then they tried to take it away and give it to someone else. Then the waitress told them no, that was ours. Then the waiter tried to give us a tomato pie instead, which we didn't order. We eventually got the correct order. That was the only downside to our otherwise lovely experience. We also spoke to the British chef and he was great to talk to. The waitresses we had were wonderful. As we were leaving, my companion got a little birthday box of treats to take home. We thought that was a splendid thing for the Ginger Room to do.

The food was delicious. The owner served us the meal . They make you feel like you're actually in London . Many varieties of tea. They're able to serve anyone. Ambience is quiet.

Every year we go for tea. We found The Ginger Room and it's a hidden gem! The tea is amazing, the sandwiches were delicious, and the pastries were adorable! The owner Karl is amazing! He opened this place to have an authentic tea experience like his home in the UK. Karl is so kind, bubbly, and a accommodating. You do need a reservation so plan ahead!

The afternoon tea set here was a little overpriced. Also did not fancy their reservation system and having to confirm by calling and paying over the phone beforehand. The sandwiches were all very sub-par and dry. I think my tea tray was also broken so it was pretty stressful trying not to have the whole thing tip over :/ Overall, I think it's a nice place to visit for celebrations but nothing fancy.

My friends and I went to The Ginger Room for afternoon tea for Galentine's Day and we had the BEST time!! Karl did a wonderful job introducing us to everything there and teaching us about the traditional British way of making things and the proper etiquette! All of the food & tea was delicious!! My personal favorite was the light and fluffy scones with clotted cream!! And thank you to Desiree who helped us take beautiful photos of our group outside! It truly was a wonderful experience and I highly recommend it to anyone who is interested!

Amazing!! Incredible!! Magical!! From the moment I walked in I felt like royalty!! The food is the most delicious ever - the service is impeccable and the whole experience was top notch

This is the most magical place and I can't wait to come back. We celebrated my girlfriends birthday and we're treated like royalty. The owner treated us like queens explaining all the delicious items and about the English culture. You could tell he loved his job and exuded pride, we both fell in love with his presences. We had the best day ever here. Reservations only.

My daughter, friends, and I had an amazing experience today at The Ginger Room! The food was delicious, the ambience was magnificent, and the service was superb. I highly recommend this business and will certainly visit again and again. The owner, Carl, is a very gracious host.

I thoroughly enjoyed my experience at the ginger room. I am a person that loves high tea & they did not disappoint. I spent around $75 for high tea which came with a hot entree a pot of tea and a variety of scones , pastries and crustless sandwiches. I ordered the lavender tea it was amazing I also had the quiche which was really good. And they have the best ginger juice I bought two of those to go. You have an hour and a half time limit at the table & it is enforced. My only con is that they had sugar packets instead of sugar cubes

We enjoyed a Friday afternoon tea with friends . Charming cluttered tea room felt like we were at an elderly aunt's home. Staff were very accommodating for special request and offered hummus sandwich replacements since I did not want chicken salad. For the 6 of us, the tower offered 3-4 sandwiches per person for each type. Smoked salmon, cucumber, curry chicken salad, egg salad AND pimento cheese. Then a scone for each person then a mixture of mini desserts and chocolates. Personally, I would have preferred fewer dessert options and then 1 per person. We were offered 4 tea options so almost everyone had a chance to choose their own preference from 3 pages of options. Unfortunately, several options were unavailable. Staff were extremely friendly and attentive, offering to take photos and water glasses were never empty. Refills on the tea as well. Bdays celebrated with singing and a tierra to wear for the occasion. Plenty of parking behind the building. A bit pricey but for a probably one time event, we all enjoyed it with plenty of leftovers.

I LOVE this place! I just celebrated my birthday here and it was so fun! the place is beautiful and the food is so good! the workers were SOOOO nice!! they were very attentive and so so sweet and helpful!!! I will be back for sure!! :))

Atmosphere: Small space, quaint, beautiful Location: Located in downtown Alpharetta near other shopping, dining, etc. Service: Simple and attentive. Food: I have been twice for High tea and each time has been lovely. High tea affords you a pot of tea, 3 tier tray of desserts and sandwiches, and one savory hot item. The experience is in the presentation and the star of the show are the delicious house made scones! Do yourself a favor and order the blueberry scones. YUM. This experience is not inexpensive, but it is a nice out of the ordinary treat. Recommendation: It's a yes from me, dog.

I had my bridal high tea here! We had a lovely time. The historical building is decorated very quaintly and is definitely the place to go for Bridgerton vibes. Apparently they do different decor themes for the table settings, we happened to have English Countryside that day. They do seatings that last approximately one hour and 30 minutes so unfortunately you can't really sit around and linger but I understand the reasoning since seating is quite limited within. I do believe reservations are required in advance. The owner came out and gave us a history lesson on the building's past as well as some etiquette on taking your tea. Later on he also presented our towers to us and explained all of the items and what made them unique. He was very knowledgeable and interjected some humor into the speech as well. The tea menu was quite large and thorough, as a tea lover it made me quite happy to see so many to choose from. I ultimately settled on Elderflower Rose Strawberry to branch out from my usual black teas. It was nice but very heavy on the rose in my opinion. I did get to sample some of my mom's Happy Tea and liked it much more. My friend was very excited to see scones with clotted cream! We used to live together and she used to bake scones and we had a little jar of the cream in our fridge back then so it was like a trip down memory lane. The tea sandwiches were so cute and I honestly loved all of them (even the egg salad and I hate boiled eggs!!!). They gave us a huge amount, too! Even with 6 ladies we ended up taking an entire full box of them home. We also took home all of the sweet delights. I was particularly fond of this one giant chocolate truffle- the filling was exquisite!! Overall, a wonderful experience and I had an amazing time! I will definitely return any chance I get. I kept saying, "I could get used to having high tea like this!!!" Bravo, Ginger Room!

I Love The Ginger Room! My girlfriend and I came on a Saturday with no reservations and they were able to accommodate us at a nice corner table. The cafe is filled with ornate paintings, antiques, and fine china. The Ginger Room has a plethora of gorgeous decorations in a historic home in Downtown Alpharetta, it's full of history. We opted for the $45/pp afternoon tea and we each had our own pot of chosen tea and a dessert and sandwich tower to share. There was more than enough food and we had to-go boxes offered, which was really nice. All of the servers worked together and did a great job taking care of us. I had a pot of the apple pie tea and my friend had the ginger tea. We both really enjoyed it! The afternoon tea tower included tea sandwiches like cucumber, smoked salmon, curry chicken, pimento and egg sandwich. I especially loved the cucumber and cream cheese---great combination. There were delicious scones and jams with clotted cream. The top tray had chocolates, macaroons, petit fours, and cookies. Beautiful presentation and display. I would definitely revisit The Ginger Room.

Fantastic!! Loved it so very much. Now here's my review. I came here with a group of ladies and we had a fantastic time getting dolled up and enjoying high tea. I enjoyed the teas I tried very much. They book up quickly and I made the reservation 2 months ago. The owner, Angela, was so sweet. She walked us through the tea menu and the tower. They use an array of local products like the macaroons and many of the sweets are made in house. The salmon sandwich was everything! The curry chicken salad was very good as well. I wasn't a fan of the cucumber sandwich as it was a tad sour for some odd reason. They give you to go boxes and aren't skimpy on the food. I really enjoyed the scones and the ginger jam. At the end we got the opportunity to sample the strawberry ginger drink and it was wonderful! Angela ran out because so many of the ladies purchased it. I got the peach and lemon which was phenomenal. I look forward to coming back!

This place is perfect for celebrations! I went here for my birthday party and had a lovely time! The food is delicious and all of the staff were super helpful! They have so many different sandwiches, and if you are vegetarian, the chef is very accommodating! Only taking off one star because I wish the website would explain the afternoon tea versus high tea option more clearly because I probably wouldn't have selected high tea if I knew how much food came with the afternoon tea. Also I wish we could have sat outdoor! The inside was really cute though and apparently it's the oldest house in Alpharetta! Such a gem! Overall it is a great experience and they really make you feel special on your birthday!

The Ginger Room is easily one of my favorite spots in Alpharetta. I am not even really a tea drinker, so I think that says a lot. This place is so much more than just tea though! As soon as you walk up to the building, you see the red phone booth and automatically feel like you are transported to Great Britain. When you walk inside, the journey continues as each table has different place settings and china patterns that are all so beautiful. They have a private room in the back, but the majority of the seating are the tables in the front. I came on Sunday for High Tea and was able to try three different teas and savory and sweet treats that were presented so nicely on a three tiered stand. I tried the Red velvet tea, elderflower strawberry and rose tea, and the lovely with lavender tea. All three come highly recommend by me, and my favorite was the red velvet. It had both smooth and sweet notes and was everything I was looking for in a tea. Not to mention it was a pretty pink color, which made it extra special! I also enjoyed munching on fresh cucumber salad sandwiches, English egg salad sandwiches, salmon and dill sandwiches and Sugas pimiento cheese sandwiches. The scones were served with strawberry, ginger, and lemon curd jam and of course England clotted cream. We also had macaroons, truffles, Ginger mini donuts, and English shortbread cookies. I literally loved everything I tried and that never happens! We also got to try two special items on their menu: The Peaches and Cream turnover and the Apple Pecan turnover. The flaky pastry and the creamy and fruity fillings of these items were top notch! You have to give the Ginger Room a try and even if you are not in Alpharetta, it is worth the drive! Just be sure to make a reservation a few weeks in advance, as it does get booked up! Pinkies up!

Whoever handles reservations is the absolute worst!! I've been trying to reach them since last week. I called 10 times and they never answered once. I left 2 voicemails and requested a call back each time- they never called me back. I received a text message from another number about my inquiry. I asked for additional information and they never answered. They clearly don't care about customers and I'm happy to take my business elsewhere.

Came here with a friend and our daughters for a double date ! The decoration is cute ! I love the chandeliers! I ordered the English breakfast tea ! I thought it was great! The sweets on the other hand i couldnt eat, my friend took back the quinch cause she couldnt cut through it . The passion mango cake didnt taste fresh at all . Service was okay you have to waive down alot , since the 20% gratuity is included they dont care much. I felt the place needs love and attention and an upgrade on the food and this place could really turn around! If your charging a deposit for a reservation and my table has dead flowers ? It didnt feel as clean as i would like but the bathroom was great and im always picky about that! Overall to come once for an experience is fine. I would never pay the high prices per person unless they served fresh good edible food. I would come back for tea maybe Like i said this place could be wayyyy better in downtown alpharetta it should be 5 stars

We had a reservation for 8 for a Christmas treat. After suggesting we were being 'upgraded' to a private room, that was the only space with 8 seats together. A 20% gratuity was added to our bill which we would have added on our own. However, we waited THIRTY minutes for any server to even approach us. Then, it took THIRTY minutes to receive our food. The tea was served after our food was presented. The food was good, and the tea service was fun, but I'm not sure we'll return. It was a very expensive tea for 'meh' service.

We celebrated my mothers 88th birthday today at the Ginger Room. Excellent teas, sandwiches and Roswell Quiche was wonderful. You should drop by for High Tea or just a-la-cart when in Alpharetta. The people were very accommodating and pleasant to visit with.

Lovely experience. The owners were wonderful to chat with. My daughter and I enjoyed high tea while I visited her in college for the weekend. Food was delicious and the place was charming.

Hello Gorgeous! This was my first (and won't be the last) trip to The Ginger Room. This little jewel box of a tea shop was wonderful in all aspects. Loved the decor, the table setting, the service...and most importantly...the food! The headliner for me was the freshly baked scones with clotted cream. The tie for jam was either the ginger jam or the lemon curd. The finger sandwiches were tasty - table favorites were the chicken salad & the egg salad with avocado. Loved the sweets - standout was the shortbread & the mini ginger donuts. Another table was celebrating a b-day & the owners (who were LOVELY) came out to sing happy birthday & present a crown to be the Queen for her tea. A really enjoyable experience all around.

We had a lovely baby shower in the private room. It was a quaint setting. Everything was wonderful overall. Friendly staff. Although a lot of staff on hand, we had to flag them down for things we needed. As well, I think the air was turned up in the private room and we were sweltering by the end. The air was turned down at our request and got better. We did have a very fun time!!

The place is cute, but the food is lacking. I brought my mother and daughter here for tea, and it was a disappointment. They had called me about a week before to confirm the reservation. At that time, I was asked if I wanted afternoon tea or high tea. I specifically stated high tea. Yet when we arrived, they had no idea we wanted high tea. They did accommodate us, but it started off the experience in a less than ideal way. The quiche that was part of the high tea was absolutely abysmal - a cheap, store-bought version. I expected it to be made in-house. The sandwiches and all other treats were also low-budget, store bought items. Very disappointing. Service was also spotty. I will not go back.

My entire 1st high tea experience from start to finish was amazing. They have an abundance of teas to choose from; hot and cold. The tea tower contained plenty of snacks to enjoy. The decor is beautiful, and I can't wait to see what it will look like for Christmas. I had a chance to speak with both owners, and they are the sweetest ever. If I lived closer, I would visit more often. Make the trip to The Ginger Room, you won't be disappointed. Reservations needed, and book early because they fill up. We already have our afternoon Christmas Tea/Birthday Reservations booked!

Where to start! Scones and clotted cream are spot on! Pot of ginger and Italian lemon tea--brilliant! Coronation Chicken Salad--I didn't leave a bite. Loved everything about this quaint little gem in downtown Alpharetta. Can hardly wait to go again!

Take me to "Paris" in Alpharetta GA. The ambiance of this tea room is amazing. Such a variation of tea choices and the small plates are delish. The service, by far is consistent with excellence. I love to grab a few ginger tonics for health and wellness as well.

This establishment is truly one of a kind. The staff is accommodating, and they really make you feel like you're a part of the family. Not only is the atmosphere incredible, but the desserts are out of this world. After indulging, I ended up ordering a whole cake from them, and I couldn't be happier with how fast they delivered. It's a place that I will definitely be frequenting again.

The location is awesome! The overall experience was just OK. I love the concept, the decor and ambience is amazing. I attended a high tea birthday lunch at about 80 bucks to $120 a person. The food was OK. I am not sure if the good timing was correct or not but nothing came out in order. The service was absolutely terrible. No one had napkins & We did not receive our napkins until the end of our meal. We went through the tower of appetizers. It wasn't until we were almost done that the waitress came in and said that she completely forgot that we were a high tea party, and that our cost came with entree! Our tea selection was also served at the end of our snacking, we did not receive any cream/sugar or honey until we requested it. One of our friends had to leave early due to one of her a little girls falling off of her chair due to it being broken. There were two other women at the party who's chairs completely caved in due to them being old and partially broken. The overall experience and intention is super cute, it just was not worth what we paid for. It seemed that the longer we stayed the worst experience with getting.

Nice to finally get a tea room in Alpharetta ... or even North Atlanta ever since the one in Roswell closed down years ago. The Ginger Room is established in a historic building in downtown Alpharetta. From the outside, it looks modern but inside is decorated with an eclectic warmth and charm. The owner was attentive, kind, and knowledgeable with her suggestions. Their selection of tea is the high point, with over 40 different varieties, but they also offer coffee and juices as well. Aside from what you would expect with pastries and such, you can order a warm meal as well -- mostly consisting of quiches and croissant sandwiches. If you're going to get a dessert, I would recommend the Bakewell Tart, which is really good, lightly sweet, and made in-house. The quiche and croissant were good but not extraordinary. The tea and dessert stand out though. The next trip would be for high tea service as much of what is in the service, you cannot get a la carte. The Ginger Room recently opened, so they're still stretching their legs. I talked to the owner a little bit about the awkward reservation system which I could not get to find any open appointments. Turns out I had to advance 5 weeks ahead and only on the weekends to find a spot. Yes, their high tea service is popular! Additionally, I mentioned that I tried to contact someone via phone, Facebook, Instagram, and email but received no response on any of it. She said they've been overwhelmed and finally addressed some staffing with recent hires so would expect that to get better.

This tea house is amazing. My friends and I visit every year sometimes twice a year. The tea varieties are always nice and the savories for the high tea are delicious.

I saw a post about afternoon tea at The Ginger Room on one of my favorite Atlanta foodie Instagram pages, and immediately sent it to my friend saying that we have to make a reservation for this! We made a reservation straight away - the first available weekend time was a month away so we booked it. We were so excited to visit and have this experience, and I would highly recommend for a fun / special occasion treat! All of the sandwiches, scones, and treats were very tasty, and the amount served per person was perfect. We were both full, but not sickly stuffed. My favorites were the egg salad sandwich, cucumber sandwich, and the scone with lemon curd! I'll be dreaming of that lemon curd :) I am admittedly not even close to being a tea expert, but they had a large menu with a wide varieties of teas. And it was also a fun surprise when they brought out shots of their Ginger Yum juices to try - we tried the strawberry and it was good! The Ginger Room is decorated perfectly. It's so cute! And it's in a great spot in downtown Alpharetta. I'm so glad this is here and I will be back! Thank you for a wonderful afternoon!

Let me start off by saying I am not a tea drinker. My wife, on the other hand, loves tea and has been collecting tea cups for over 40 years. I thought this would be a nice experience and took her here for our 32nd anniversary. She has been to tea rooms before, but she was absolutely blown away by this place! We got the high tea and it was superb. The ambiance, the unique decorations, and the beautiful home made this a memorable experience. The staff is super friendly, and the total experience was very charming! My wife is already talking about coming back. If you like tea, you will absolutely love this place. Thank you to the staff for making our anniversary one to remember! I'm sure we will be talking about this day for years to come!!

We had such a great High Tea Time @ The Ginger Room!!! Our party of 10 was well taken care of. The service was superb!!! Karl was sooo awesome & personable!!! A delightful Sunday Afternoon Tea experience!! A MUST-DO for any ladies party or birthday celebration for friends, or if you just want an excuse to dress up nice and enjoy some AMAZING TEA AND FOOD ASSORTMENTS. Was so excited to try out The Ginger Room and their tea experience and they did not disappoint!! It was TEA-rrific & AMAZING overall. I went here with my mom and sister and both are equally in love with this place and the experience. From the beginning, we arrived to the location, which was easy to map to within the downtown Alpharetta area, and parked. There is parking in the back of the building, so no trouble there. We walked through the front door and were immediately greeted by one of the servers and were immediately seated to our table. Note: We did have a reservation, which is absolutely essential since this place DOES get BOOKED UP. Reservations are available months in advance, and I suggest looking as early as possible because sometimes reservations aren't available until another 2 months!! The Ginger Room is the oldest building in downtown Alpharetta, but decorated so lovely. The vibe is very tea party and ornate (love it!) and homey. My party of 3 did the Afternoon Tea, which is slightly different than the High Tea that they offer, but was so much more food than we expected. The tea house is For the difference: Afternoon Tea - $45.95/person (choice of tea per person plus the food tower) High Tea - $55.95/person (includes the same as above PLUS a choice of hot entrée per person) Each person at the table gets their own choice of tea and there are SO SO many options to choose from. Our server had good knowledge on them so we were able to ask about it. My favorite was the Sundae Fun Day tea!!! The food tower included such a variety of food... Bottom: 5 kinds of finger sandwiches (1) Egg Salad (2) Smoked Salmon & Chive (3) Curry Chicken (4) Cucumber & Dill (5) Pimento Cheese Middle: Scones with 3 kinds of jam: (1) Ginger (my fav!!) (2) Lemon zest (3) Strawberry Top: Desserts! so many choices from the different flavors of macarons, cake, brownie, chocolate covered strawberry, and other options that vary) Angela was the one who brought out our food and she was so lovely!! Absolutely a delight and clearly very excited to be sharing a piece of her with us. Amazing time! Can't say enough about this experience :)

A birthday must! Or celebrating anything really! It's a special place! Super glad I celebrated my birthday here. The the ambience is great. The birthday celebration is pampered. I give it 4 stars for the experience! Now I have to talk about the other stuff. I arrived 10 mins early for my 3pm reservation, I was NOT GREETED well at all :( You would have thought I was interrupting something very important. There was NO one there???? I had to tell them I can easily look around. It was a very awkward feeling. Then my friend showed up and they basically sat us right in the door way. Once again, there was no one in the restaurant. They had a couple of reservations, but the table they selected for us was still weird. Thankfully, my friend spoke up and we got a more comfortable space to sit in. The service was not that friendly. The tea was absolutely wonderful. I enjoyed the mountain chai. The presentation as I mentioned was very fancy. It was exciting when they brought the crowns out for the birthday song. I just wish they would've brought the crowns out earlier. I would've loved to worn it through the entire lunch. the birthday cake they provided was not edible. It was beautiful looking, but it was not edible. The Chai tea was fancy, and I enjoyed most of the stuff that was on the tray, but I was expecting something worth talking about afterwards. Hate to say that because once again, the experience was lovely, but the food was not something I would rave about. The quiche was very good. The scones were good. The chicken salad has some curry in it which wasn't my favorite. I also had to put a down payment down on the reservation prior to our arrival. So when the bill came and my friend wanted to pick up my birthday dinner, it was a weird situation because I had already paid for myself ahead of time she was sad because she really wanted to buy my lunch, maybe they could've work something out differently ahead of time but once again, no one mentioned it and there wasn't an option to change it once again, go for the experience and I know we'll try it again I'm hoping for a better experience next time.

The good: - The owners are so sweet and good at what they do. They were kind, accommodating, and lovely to talk to. Clearly, they put a lot of heart into what they do. - The towers are fabulous! The food has a great mix of mild flavors (egg salad and cucumber sandwiches were classic and delicious) and bold and flavorful (salmon, coronation chicken salad, and spicy pimento cheese sandwiches). The scones were good but a little on the crumbly side. And the desserts were fantastic! So many options. Portion sizes were more than ample with plenty to take home. - The gluten-free tea tower was a showstopper. I couldn't believe all of the options on one plate. At first I was disappointed that they didn't have GF scones because, after all, what is an afternoon tea without scones? But everything else was so spectacular, that I actually didn't find myself missing it. - The building itself was beautiful. The owners told us it's the oldest building in Alpharetta, from 1859. There was plenty of close parking too, which isn't common for the area. - It was decorated beautifully! The dishes were beautiful mismatched floral tea sets. I'm so grateful they did classic English tea ware instead of this modern plain white that so many people have switched to. There's a rich chandelier and a beautiful fireplace. The paint colors were gorgeous. They really, truly created a lovely environment. The not-so-good: - The tables are way too small. And I mean WAY too small. The server tried to say it was very European. ‍ (as if people in this area don't frequently visit Europe and have tea and know that's not the case). If the tables had just been square instead of round, that would have solved everything. But two tiny round tables pushed together to make seating for four was very cramped and uncomfortable. And each table felt very separated from the other because of the round shape. - The service was not good. Other than the owners who came out in the middle and did a fantastic job taking care of everyone, the two servers were not good at what they did. They forgot two requests. They knew little to nothing about the teas they served. We almost walked out just based on the size of the tables and the servers. We were never offered refills on our tea. The tip was automatically applied, which is probably because many people weren't tipping well due to the poor service. - The tea was weak and not hot. The sugar wouldn't dissolve because of the barely-warm temperature. It wasn't brewed correctly. - The kids tea was not kid-friendly. When we made the reservation, I made sure to note that we wanted the kids tea. But all the sandwiches were very adult in flavor. Fortunately the owner came out and offered to make a turkey and cheese sandwich, which saved the day. Thankfully, my kid has grown up doing teas and loves tea, but I was surprised that they didn't offer hot chocolate or another drink in its place for the kids tea. All in all, we would go back because the tea towers were so incredible. But I would make sure we reserved the one table in the parlor that's a rectangle, not the tiny circle tables squeezed together. And I would ask for hot water when they're brewing the tea. And I would try to go on a day with different servers hopefully.

My experience at The Ginger Room was fine, but I am not likely to return. The Ginger Room is located in Downtown Alpharetta, but it does have a parking lot in the back (instead of trying to find street parking). The place is thoughtfully decorated and super cute. I want to highlight their China selection because it's so beautiful and I love the whole mix 'n match vibe they had going on with it. We had an early booking and were seated right away (there was only one other table there so they weren't busy). The tables are on the smaller side and I'd imagine there's not a lot of wiggle room once the place is full. Do keep that in mind if you have a larger party. The menu had a large selection of tea, anywhere from classics to local offerings. You then have the option of doing Afternoon Tea, or High Tea ($10 more, which includes a hot entree of your choice). I recommend sticking with just the Afternoon Tea unless you are very hungry because they give you a LOT of food. Our Afternoon Tea tray consisted of five different types of sandwiches (about 3 slices per type, with the exception of the Pimento cheese), one hot scone per person; and a variety of sweets: cakes, chocolates, cookies, etc. There's a lot of variety so it's good for people that want to try a little bit of everything. But if I am being honest, the quality of the food was just ok. Even though I had fully expected this but most of the sweets (with the exception of the Scone) didn't taste like they were made fresh that day. Service was fine, but I wouldn't call it attentive, especially for the mandatory gratuity they add to your bill at the end. We were checked on just once throughout the whole meal and I had to flag down our waitress for a fresh pot of tea. Upon check out, I discovered a 20% gratuity was added to my bill. This was not mentioned on their website, or their menu (apology if it was and I missed but I did not see anything in regard to this), nor was this communicated to me verbally prior to ordering. I am someone who usually tips 20% anyways so it wasn't the amount, but more so the fact they essentially added 20% to my bill without telling me, that sourced the experience for me. Overall I think The Ginger Room is a good place for those that want the afternoon tea experience (just note the smaller space and 20% mandatory gratuity); but if you are someone that wants a culinary experience, this wouldn't be your first choice.

This was a fabulous experience from start to finish. Every detail was considered in the decor and the menu. Every single member of staff was sweet, attentive, kind, helpful and knowledgeable. We had a reservation for afternoon tea to celebrate a birthday. After we placed our tea order, the owner came by and shared some history of the building and the business. You could tell this was a true passion. The food tower arrived and every single item was beautiful. It almost looked too good to eat. But we ate it and I'm so glad we did! The chicken sandwich and the scone with clotted cream and lemon curd were my favorites. We were stuffed, just attempting to taste it all. Thankfully they had to go boxes. I can't wait to go back again and share this experience with everyone I love.

Pinkies up for this one Yelpers! Honestly I'm struggling with making this a long review or just getting straight to the point on why you should come here. We'll figure it out as we go and before you ask, yes I did find this place on social media. Y'all know I'm easily influenced! I booked tea time here for a special treat for my cousin who was visiting from out of state. We schedule the an Afternoon Tea reservation (Total was around $100). When I tell y'all this place was giving what it needed to give, it GAVE! We had a choice of our own teas and then had a decadent assortment of savory and sweet bites. Then the person who prepared our scones and treats comes out and is from England. The way he described our refreshments was amazing, aside from his accent his passion and word choices had me excited! Then after our tea and treats, we were given a refreshing ginger juice. They spoke about how they initially started as a healthy juice. Yeah, I need to order some of that ASAP. I mean wow, the service and experience was amazing! Just come and have a great time!
