13 Soups to Try on Snowy Denver Days - Eater Denver

"Beets, pickles, sauerkraut, potatoes, and all, roots and fermented vegetables give the soups at one of metro Denver’s only Polish restaurants their earthy, tangy, often refreshingly sour savor. Any one of them, plus a plate of pierogi or kielbasa, makes for the ultimate belly-warming lunch come winter." - Rebecca Treon, Gigi Sukin, Ruth Tobias

Food was delicious! Everything was freshly made, and the flavors were delectable! They weren't very busy so was surprised that it took 45 minutes to get our food. They're only open for lunch (and dinner) Fri-Sun, and dinner 4-9pm Mon-Thurs. A must try for an authentic Polish experience!

This food reminded me of my family. It was a home cooked meal while I was traveling for work. I ordered the Golabki with both the tomato and mushroom sauce. Traditionally it comes with the tomato sauce and that's how I ate it growing up. But the mushroom sauce was a game changer! I will definitely be coming back to try the pierogis next time I'm in town. Don't wait and head here now and try some delicious authentic Polish cuisine! You won't be disappointed.

Google
We waited over an hour to receive our food and they ran out of multiple dishes. The service and attitude was pretty poor when we asked about our food and wait time. The cheese pierogis, cabbage rolls, and spicy mustard were tasty. Don’t order the bread or the meat krokiet. They are both very dry.

Our first time to a Polish restaurant and the staff was very friendly and attentive. They explained how the menu and food was organized and answered Amy questions. They gave fantastic recommendations and the wait time for food was not bad at all. The food was all amazing! Every dish carried beautiful flavors. Overall, it was well worth the money and we will definitely eat here again!

Google
10 out of 10 amazing!! Best cabbage roll of my life!! The cocktails were Majestic. Loved getting the taste of Poland to try a little of everything. Highly recommended, and we will be returning.

I’ve always been a fan of Eastern European food; my grandma was Slovakian, so I grew up eating a lot of the dishes she loved. I came here with family, and overall, we all really enjoyed the food. The service was great, and I believe the manager or owner even checked in with us at the end of the meal, which was a nice touch. My favorite dish was definitely the pierogies! We tried the potato and cheese, and the ground pork. I was the only one who liked both, but the potato and cheese were a favorite for everyone. I grew up with Slovak-style Halupki, so I’m used to cabbage rolls that are softer and fall apart a bit more when you cut into them. The ones here had a firmer, more compact filling, which I’ve since learned is more common with Polish-style Gołąbki. So while they were well-made, they just caught me off guard because of the difference in texture. It’s always interesting to see how regional variations show up in familiar dishes! The smoked kielbasa sandwich was also delicious, and I’m glad I ended up trying the dessert. I wasn’t planning on it, but it was light, airy, and subtly flavored. I really enjoyed it. My mom liked the soup too, though she thought it was a bit mild for her taste.

Google
Food was delicious but service was horrible. Server dropped my daughter soup in the under plate, our appetizer Pierogi came after the food was served because we asked for, we never had refill on our drinks, etc. Atmosphere is clean but we were able to look at the kitchen since we were seated at the door and floor and equipment are old and floor was really dirty.

Jonathan M.

Google
The food here is fantastic! If you love comfort food and polish classic cuisine you need to try. I loved our server, Stephanie. Just awesome!

Yelp
Excellent service and perfect perogies. Make sure to try the spicy mustard if you enjoy a little heat.

Yelp
Overall: Excellent food, and according to our Polish friends, has authentic options. The Food: Going to be honest, I'm normally very neutral towards Polish cuisine as I find it either too salty, bland, or just okay for my personal taste here in the States. There's only been a couple of times where I was impressed and here, I was impressed. So far, I've tried the pierogis, kielbasas, beet soup, and creamy pickle soup. I'm obsessed with their pickle soup! It's acidic and creamy and ugh, delicious - Mmm... The Space: Gave a comfy pub restaurant feel you'd find in Europe. Large space - good for groups. The Service: Checked in reasonably enough times. Welcoming and was happy to give recs and explain dishes. The Price: Reasonable for what it is. Not insane but not cheap.

Yelp
First experience as a polish American is .... For the record, this will be updated over time, but they will NOT know it's me..... "I'm Very sneaky sir"... Rosol was good for someone who loves salty cheap ramen with dry chicken pieces . Ambiance is great! Service was slow to respond, but excellent once noticed ‍

Yelp
Authentic Polish restaurant. A dozen of us had dinner there. My personal favorite was the homemade chicken noodle soup. The waiter did a fine job. We were there for about 2 hours. The meat inside the cabbage rolls was totally solid but the tomato sauce on it was good. The rye bread was quite dry. My husband tried the horseradish martini which didn't have much of a spicy flavor. I tried a salted caramel vodka Irish decaf coffee. Hardly any flavor.

Yelp
We recently gave Cracovia a try after trying to fill a hole that Golden Europe left behind after closing. Cracovia is a great polish option! I was very excited to try the pickle soup and it did not disappoint. The pierogi were good though it's an extra $2 to fry them and while I'm normally a big potato and cheese fan, the meat were actually the best. For meals we had gulasz and schabowy both with great flavor, ordered extra mushroom sauce and that was totally worth it. The fry on the pork was perfection and I found the gulasz a little too heavy on the paprika for my tastes but overall good. I think the only disappointment was the dessert which didn't quite hit though admittedly I wish my partner would have gotten pasczek instead. Service was great and the restaurant was quiet and calm. Small group for lunch but seems to be a busy dinner option? Overall definitely would come back to try more things here at Cracovia!

Yelp
Such a fun find! I went here with my mom for dinner and it didn't disappoint! It's bigger than it appears on the inside. It's dark but has a fun undercurrent with a well lit bar and all kinds of in-house infused vodka for really good martinis. The staff was very friendly and knowledgeable about the menu, our server did an amazing job of guiding us through our first Polish feast! The Dill Pickle Soup is different but I would recommend the cup vs the bowl. We also shared the Polish combo plate that allowed us to try a variety of things on the menu which was an awesome option. The pistachio ricotta cake was out of this world and I'm happy we found room for dessert. Everything about this restaurant was a great experience, I can't wait to go back!

Yelp
I love this restaurant! The vibe is awesome, with polish pop and classic music, the service from Stephanie was so awesome, and the food was fantastic! I will be coming back, and bringing my foodie friends!

Traditionally it comes with the tomato sauce and that's how I ate it growing up. But the mushroom sauce was a game changer! I will definitely be coming back to try the pierogis next time I'm in town. The service was a little slow, but I wasn't in a hurry so I didn't mind. Well lit ambiance and easy to hold a conversation.

Yelp
Stopped by with my daughter for a dinner . I was hopeful yet quickly disappointed when the sour rye soup arrived. Omg, I don't think I've ever eaten most awful soup before. Whoever created that needs to remove it from the menu. It tastes nothing like Żurek supposed to taste. It's weirdly milky . Ugh . Placek zbójnicki was mediocre too. The pancake was done wrong. Stew ( gulasz) was flavorless and portion was stingy. 3 pieces of meat with 2 giant pancakes . Just awful food all around. Too sad because the restaurant is nice on inside. Won't be back . Service was ok.

Meya B.

Yelp
Tried again just because I thought I was being harsh. Had someone go in since I was scared to show my face since the owner left a passive aggressive response to what i thought was a pretty normal first review lol. Sorry I didn't like it lol and i still don't. Still pretty nice people working here though so that's not bad at all. It's also a cute place. Take constructive criticism is all i guess

Yelp
We had a large group and the absolute favorites were the Goulash, the Bigos Polish hunter stew and the cabbage rolls. I had the Golonka which was a bit dry and chewy. Wrong thing to order. Our server was wonderful. Informative, friendly and perfectly paced service. The floor was really sticky in the bathrooms. Our family will be back for great Polish food.

Yelp
Really great food! This is real polish food! I did the stuffed peppers Yum! It is a little expensive but if you're looking for quality food and a great bar for a special occasion.. you should give them a try!
google avatar

Yelp
Went for Mother's Day and it was amazing. My MIL is polish and loved everything here. The vodka selection is top notch and brought $$$$ of stuff home for later. So neat that you can buy sausages and more by the pound for later. We got the pierogi sampler which is the way to go for sure. The borscht was a little thin then normal but had great flavor. Even Baby Noah enjoyed it! I got the cabbage rolls with both sauces and the red sauce is the winner for sure!

Yelp
Finally! Having moved from the San Francisco bay area I've been searching for a place to satisfy my golabki cravings and, after trying another place, was resigned to having to make my own. Thankfully, a friend told me about Cracovia and now I'm hooked! How many words are there for delicious? The cabbage was tender and the mushroom and tomato sauces added to the flavor of the filling perfectly. A bit steep for the serving size (three as opposed to the four shown online) but I'll happily pay the price again. I'm really looking forward to trying the pierogi, gulasz and kremowka.

Yelp
Had the pleasure of talking with Chef "Utah". This is how she pronounced her name- forgive my spelling if it is wrong. I can't speak to the authenticity of polish food but I can speak to the amazing taste. This is hands down the best tasting "polish" food I have ever had in my life! Between Utah and our server J- made the experience. Beautiful restaurant with amazing people and food = 5 stars. I can't believe they have been open for more than 15years and I JUST discovered this gem. We will definitely be back with pic updates and more!

Yelp
What great meals we had at Cracovia last night. My wife and her brother tried the pickle soup and raved about it. They both had Pierogi for dinner and I tried the Hunter Stew (Bigos?). It was all delicious. Alexis was very helpful and informative and the Chef Utta (sp?) came out and chatted with us about Farmers Cheese, Sauerbraten, and other things. Wonderful place, Wonderful meal. Next time I'm in Arvada, I'll be back! P.S For you locals, they have frozen pierogi and other things you can take with you.
google avatar

Rodney V.

Yelp
Got the Polish sampler for one, $38 It comes with Golabki (cabbage role), 3 Pierogi, smoked Kielbasa, Zeberka (BBQ Pork rib, Krokiet ( pork and sourkraut, breaded and fried) and Beets with horseradish. . We'll be back another day!
google avatar

Dingus D.

Yelp
Cracovia is pretty dang good. My only problem with it is the price. It's a bit on the expensive side but the food is Big D approved. Will I be returning? Possibly when I am in the area, but definitely not a hard no.

Yelp
Great food. We had a group of 12 and everything was delicious. Service was excellent.
google avatar

Virginia M.

Yelp
We arrived and the restaurant was empty except for one family at a table. We sat down and not 2 minutes later they sat a family with a screaming child next to us. There were no less than 20 open tables. The next party, also with a tired child, were seated at the booth directly behind us. The server asked if we wanted to move!!! WTF! 3 servers and 4 tables all seated within 5 feet of each other and the rest of the place is wide open. The food was mediocre at best. Mine was inedible. The wine is way over priced at $13 a glass for house wine. The service was good. But I won't be back
google avatar

Yelp
We have barely left the restaurant, and I'm already making the review because it was so good! Our waiter was super friendly, and his recommendations really helped craft our experience to the fullest! It really made us Polish noobs feel welcome. We started off with pierogies and pickle soup. The pierogies was as tasty as you would expect, while the pickle soup was surprisingly tasty! I have never had anything like that before. For the entrées, I got the golabki which tasted quite healthy, yet flavorful. I had it with the creamy mushroom sauce. Well, my fiancé got the pig knuckles. It tasted as juicy and tender as it looks in the picture I kept stealing bites from it because it was too yummy. I wish we had room for dessert because it seems good. Oh, and the cocktails were so good. I initially did not plan on drinking at all today, but after take a sip of my fiancé is cocktail, I immediately ordered myself one. Amazing place to grab Polish food!!

Yelp
This is an amazing find! The food was outstanding and authentic. The soups (we tried two) were so good it's tough to say which one was better. Our server Patrick did such a great job and really added to the experience. The Lemon Mascarpone cake is one of the best dexserts I've ever had!
google avatar

Yelp
I was so impressed! My husband and I were celebrating Valentine's Day early to avoid the crowds, and every element of our meal made for the perfect night out. Pay no mind to the strip mall exterior- the interior is very pretty and nicely lit, with cloth tablecloths and napkins. It took a minute to get seated, but they offered a choice of booth or table and were very courteous. Our server, Cruz, was awesome! He was informative and friendly, and I appreciated his help in learning the pronunciation of the dishes. The food was the absolute best part. I love perogies, so of course we started off with those. We tried all 3 options, and they were all good, but the potato and cheese were extra creamy. The schabowy is very similar to German snitzel if you're familiar with that, although the mushroom gravy it was covered with was a nice twist. The star of the meal was the placek zbojnicki, a potato pancake covered in goulash with huge tender pork pieces and the same mushroom gravy the schabowy had. It was really unique and tasty- like nothing we had ever had before! We finished off with the Kremowka, a light puff pastry filled with a sweet vanilla custard. We also had a chance to try a shot of their house made tiramisu vodka and almond rocha vodka- sweet but it burned so good! Overall, an excellent meal- I highly recommend this for a date night or a night out!

Lisa C.

Yelp
This restaurant was amazing. The food was phenomenal, the service was top notch, and the owner/chef visiting our table was the cherry on the top. The food reminded me of my German grandmothers cooking -so many good memories. We will definitely be back

Brian R.

Yelp
If you love Polish food, this is the place for it! I could say wonderful things about the borscht however, everything item I've tried here is incredible. The service is First Rate. Alexis our server allowed us to try something new as a taster. That sample was incredible. The restaurant had a wonderful ambience and is very clean. I'll be back! Grade (A+)
google avatar

Jamison H.

Yelp
First of all you walk in and the smell makes your mouth water. The service is always friendly. The wait is worth the delicious freshly made polish food. The cabbage rolls are like grandma made them. Seriously they are delicious. Also the pirogies are so tasty and home made. The kielbasa has so much flavor. Do not pass on the pickle soup. Over all this place is like you have transported to Poland. The food is consistently delicious and always served with a smile. You will not be disappointed. I live all the way in Littleton and it's worth the drive.

Dennis ..

Yelp
Alexis was a wonderful waitperson and gave great tips on the menu and the alcoholic selections. Short wine list but incredible vodka selection all made by the owner. Food was delicious and we will be back! Dennis O.

Lynelle C.

Yelp
The service was great. I was disappointed in the food because I expected the sauerkraut to be sour. The red cabbage was so sweet I couldn't finish it and the sauerkraut my husband had was sweet. However the duck I had was good. My husband loved the kielbasas and the pickle soup was unusual and very good. I guess I was expecting the red cabbage to be more like a German red cabbage. Great place but just not for me.

Bridget A.

Yelp
The food here is amazing! Fresh, homemade, and made from scratch! My fiance and I got the cheese and potato pierogis as an appetizer. He got the roast duck for an entree and I got the schabowy -fried pork chop with creamy mushroom sauce & mashed potatoes. All the food was hot when it came out. The only thing was that we had to wait a bit for the food. However, the staff were very friendly and the place felt so homey, warm, and just had good vibes. Also don't skip dessert! We got the kremowka and the nalesniki and they were both wonderful and garnished with homemade whipped cream-absolutely delicious!

Yelp
We have been going to Cracovia for a while and it has become one of our favorite restaurants. The interior is a bit quirky and out of date but is inviting, quiet, and clean. The food is incredible, and the service is excellent. We have tried many things on the menu including the Sausage Sampler, Herring Salad, Pierogi (both as a main course and as an app), Golabki (classic stuffed cabbage), Schabowy (pork chop), Golonka (Pork joint), and a few others. All of the food is fresh, well plated, perfectly seasoned, and well balanced. Serving sizes range from reasonable to large. My favorites are the Golabki and Schabowy but everything I have had is outstanding and unique. Cracovia is definitely a "comfort food" sort of place. For dessert we have had the Polish donut and apple pie. Both are excellent and not too sweet. The bar is also excellent with a great selection of Polish and domestic beers. And fantastic martinis (vodka of course). I recommend the Warka Strong beer. Cracovia is a really comfortable and reliable restaurant. As stated above it is not loud like so many other places. So, a group can have a conversation without shouting. I highly recommend Cracovia as a place to have hearty meals in a pleasant atmosphere without spending a fortune.

Jenni W.

Yelp
Heard this was the place for the best Polish food in the Denver area and ended up popping in here on a last minute whim on a Tuesday night- Clean and dimly lit, appears to have plenty of group seating. This was our first time having true Polish cuisine so the wife and I got the "Taste of Poland" / the Cracovia Dinner as well as the Bigos (Polish Hunter stew) to share. It wouldn't be polish if it weren't filled with salty meats and sauerkraut so if that's not your jam your options might be limited! The Cracovia dinner was definitely enough for two people because of how heavy the content is, and gives you a little bit of everything to get exposed to their typical food style. The Bigos was delicious but large and hefty- this entree could easily be split into two meals. Overall everything was all prepared very well with the exception of the side mizeria ONLY because it was clearly premade and then kept on the fridge but perhaps the wrong part of the fridge because it was ICE cold. Would definitely return when in the mood for this type of food again, and also for my own curiosity to trial other intriguing staples (ie: pickle soup).

Yelp
Incredible service and by far the best Polish food in the Denver area. Great selection of flavored Vodka too

Violeta G.

Yelp
All I have to say: 1. The service is amazing and the waiters are so warm and funny 2. I have never tried polish food, but after this experience I was obsessed 3. I felt the homie environment in this restaurant I felt like I was a part of the family 4. Guy Fieri was there HOW COOL OK thanks for listening to my rant

Ryan M.

Yelp
Over priced. Slow service. Drinks took half an hour, with only 4 other tables in the restaurant. Food was pretty dang good, but really over priced. Atmosphere is dated, as well as the plating, I do not need a whole leaf of kale and orange slices for the dry, overcooked duck. Spent over 100 dollars on 1 entree, 2 appetizers, and 3 drinks(one of which was comped, because it took so long). Left still hungry. Ambiance reminds me of a kitchen nightmare episode

Phil E.

Yelp
I have been here many times. It will remain on the rotation. Simple traditional decor matching the authentic food. The pork knuckle and stuffed cabbage stand out. Sausages equally great.

Yelp
We're not familiar with Polish food at all so we asked for recommendation on everything Food/Taste/Flavor: 4/5 - some dishes didn't quite hit the mark but others were spectacular Zurek was tongue cuttingly sour but addicting. The first taste was a bit of a shock but you want to come back for more bites Gulasz was familiar in taste and reminds us more of a curry flavor with the spices. The mashed potatoes and caramelized onions was a great pairing in texture The Taste of Poland with 3 pierogi (one of each filling), golabki (cabbage roll), krokiet (breaded and fried crepe) with ground pork, link of kielbasa (polish sausage), one pork rib, glass of kompot (fresh fruit juice), and side of beets. The pierogi reminds us of Indian samosas. The cheese and potato was creamy and makes you salivate. The other two were pretty good as well but outshined by the first. We got the cabbage roll with both sauces and it was delicious! The roll itself is juicy with the tomato sauce adding a tartness and the creamy mushroom sauce adds a earthiness and texture. We would recommend the mushroom sauce 100%. The krokiet is fried really well and the skin is so yummy. The inside was similar to the pierogi filling. The sausage is super smokey but has a slight grainy texture. The pork rib wasn't special nor was it fall off the bone. The fruit juice was interesting and made us think of cinnamon and apples. We would recommend the fried cheese and potato pierogi and golabki out of these items we tried. However, it was really fun trying all the flavors and texture on this tasting platter Ambience: 5/5 - cultural music and good vibes. The decorations are quite dark which was a bit odd since it was so bright outside still Service: 5/5 - super friendly and willing to chat. Gave us great recommendations and description of the food Value for price: 2/5 - on the more expensive side but some really delicious food. Great to try but would be hesitant to come back due to cost

Yelp
We only came here cause the first place we picked was packed. Feel like we were really lucky to find this place, it was pretty dang good. My wife and I each did the taste of Poland because we wanted a bit of everything. Also did a flight of the different flavored vodkas they have available. Don't let the odd plaza scare you away this place is definitely worth it.

T S.

Yelp
It's not common that I leave a review but I wanted to make those aware if they order online. I chose their starter pierogi (which were amazing) and the house salad, which should've included mandarin oranges and craisins. I received an ordinary salad with lettuce, cucumber and tomatoes. When I called to address this, I was told they stopped making this salad awhile ago and if I had anything else. Very short conversation, not the customer service I would've expected. Was the simple salad I received worth the price I paid for the one I chose. This is an unknown. Double check your to go order before leaving the facility, make sure it includes the items you've ordered and if not then maybe when face to face they'll be a little more considerate.

Brian S.

Yelp
So my wife and I and two friends went to Cracovia Polish Restaurant. We had a wonderful waitress named Kim, she encouraged us to try new things which we loved. Jutta, one of the best chefs in Colorado, cooks amazing Polish food, with a German twist. Don't let the appearance of the place from the street deter you... the inside is just perfect for fine dining. Great food, great staff, great atmosphere. PS - they do have malt vinegar which is perfect for the potato pancakes
google avatar

Abby P.

Yelp
The food was very good as well as the service. We visited on a Sunday around 5 PM and there were hardly any people there. We ordered the Pierogi appetizer with all 3 flavors, all delicious although I personally recommend the pork. I ordered the Schabowy with a Gołąbki with Tomato Sauce on the side, both were very tasty. My husband ordered the Smoked Kielbasa and a cup of Bigos, he enjoyed both and said the Bigos was very authentic. The Kielbasa was my favorite part of the meal (if I could only recommend one thing: get the Smoked Kielbasa - made in-house!). Their infused vodkas are very good as well. My husband is Polish and it gets his seal of approval. Our only complaint was the prices - a little high for the amount you get; however, the quality is there!

Renate K.

Yelp
Cracovia is a wonderful restaurant with the best food one can imagine. The staff is very friendly and helpful. The manager is the nicest person and is getting out of her way to make everybody happy. I wrote a review before, but I want to repeat it again. The best birthday party I ever had,was at the Cracovia!!!!

Annie B.

Yelp
The food was incredibly flavorful and truly captured the essence of authentic cuisine.

Tim B.

Yelp
First off, I love this restaurant. The food is extremely good, very hearty, and flavorful. The atmosphere is very nice, and the staff friendly. In particular I love the mustard for the kielbasa...very nice contrasting flavor. The sauerkraut is like nothing I've had anywhere else! I could eat gallons of it. The tour of Poland plate is a culinary delight that will leave you wanting to come back again and again for more. The Hunter's stew they serve is perfect for a cold day or after skiing. Instant revitalization! Now, to the area of improvement: they are understaffed. They probably have 30-40 tables and only 3 wait staff. The bartender had to pitch in to help. When I last went, it took over one hour to get our food and about one hour for them to even check on us for a drink refill. I nearly got up and left. Dinner normally takes 45m to an hour for 4 people took nearly 2.5 hrs. I could forgive the time it takes to cook the food with proper warning, but to not even refill water or ask if we want a round of drinks is not going to cut it. I had to go to my car to get my water bottle. As I said I love this restaurant and drive about an hour to eat there. This is the second time now that I've experienced severe delays. I can't have a two hour round trip plus a 2.5hr dinner. On the bright side I guess I saved money as we didn't get an opportunity to get more drinks or dessert. Probably would have died of old age if I had. I will go back again sometime and I really hope they solve the staffing problem because this is really a great restaurant.

Lauren M.

Yelp
We are always so pleased when we go here. There hasn't be a single meal we've had at Cracovia that hasn't been entirely delicious!

Yelp
First, very inviting, cute little place in an obscure tiny strip mall. The Polish music was a nice touch, too. Second, my server, Kendall, was very sweet, possibly new. Service was great, fast, and I was checked on, twice! Third, this was my fourth attempt to try this place as they were always closed (possibly, partially Covid related). Finally, I tried the Bigos, Polish hunter stew. Good portion size, several bites of sliced kielbasa, but only ONE, LONELY chunk of pork. Insert sad face and disappointment. Sweet Kendall says, "is there anything I can do?" I'm like, yeah.. Go ask for one or two more bites of pork. She came back with a whole nother bowl (see pics)! Great... So, I dig around, still no pork. NOT A SINGLE ONE. Then the owner came to see if the second bowl was better, lol. She explained they just don't put in that much pork! So, I packed it up and took it home because that was just way too much sauerkraut for my taste, for$20+. How very nice of her, though! I plan to come back for the pierogi.

Yelp
Service was top notch, kudos to whoever does the hiring. Sean was great, describing each dish, how it was prepared and our options. The intimate atmosphere and low lighting was great for a group looking to enjoy an evening or a quiet evening for two. We're definitely going back to try other dishes and if Sean is available we'd definitely ask for him again. Service was top notch, kudos to whoever does the hiring. Yelp
Wonderful home style Polish food! Reminded me of the wonderful homemade Eastern European food I had growing up. Everything is delicious. I can never make up my mind on what to order so (as usaul) had the Polish Sampler with Golabki (stuffed cabbage), Pierogis, pork rib, pork Krokit, beets and Kielbasi with cooked onions. For dessert we had the pistachio cake- a must try!!! The food is simply amazing!! The service is incredibly friendly and very helpful. It feels like a family get together. The ambiance is typical Eastern European/German which is a bit basic but clean and nice. I would call it comfortable but not fancy. I really enjoyed everything as did our friends.

Yelp
The food was delicious, always. The service was okay -- I had to have my friend flag down the waiter to get my drink, and then to order my dessert -- but we were there with a birthday party of 20 adults, and we were splitting the table's check (like a billion ways). The atmosphere was delightful and it was, and will continue to be, a wonderful place to celebrate a birthday.

Yelp
Now that restaurants are reopened to full capacity, I am going back to restaurants that serve food I like but have not been to for awhile. I decided to be adventurous and ordered the blood sausage (kiszka) from their Connoisseurs menu. I don't even remember when was the last time I had blood sausage or black pudding. Anyway, the Cracovia blood sausages are house made, it has pork blood mixed with barley. I cut open the casing and there were no tiny pieces of fat like some other blood sausages so I suspect these sausages could be reasonably healthy. What made the dish was the yellow mustard that came with sausages, the two just worked perfectly together. The mash potatoes were creamy and the side sauerkraut was also house made. I walked in around Noon on Saturday, there was only one table occupied but no servers insight. More than 5 minutes later, a guy came out of the kitchen with food for that table and then I was seated. They have a sign on the door saying something about not enough people working so they would only open five days instead of seven days a week. All in all, it was an enjoyable meal and Polish food does not have to be just pierogi, kielbasa or cabbage roll. I would go back probably sooner rather than later and try something different.
