Sustainably sourced coffee, pastries baked on-site, hearty burritos

"After an early morning drop-off or pick-up at Burbank Airport, the first thing on my mind is getting breakfast and caffeine, and this corner spot that’s been open since 2013 remains a loaded institution for egg-laden breakfast plates, cold brew, and classic drip coffee. Breakfast brings smoked salmon toast with avocado and fried capers, as well as a brisket-filled breakfast burrito with pico de gallo. Lunch adds a few more options, including a fried chicken sandwich, a kale Caesar, and tater tots. There are usually a handful of seats available indoors, but on nice days, head out to the verdant patio." - Eater Staff
"Nestled on the corner across the street from Jay Leno's old studio is the perfect answer to a mid-day pick me up. The Commissary is a delightful addition to an area of Burbank that is mostly comprised of studios and sound stages. Enjoy the only Cortado you'll find in Burbank on their sizable shady patio or hang out under the rooster painting polishing your latest literary masterpiece. You'll be delighted to find strong espresso and wifi here, and best of all an extremely mild "industry" vibe." - Jennifer Beatty

"Small on the inside but makes the most of its space with plenty of seating for laptop warriors or the one person who was sitting in the corner reading Dante Alighieri’s Divine Comedy. The coffee is strong, while the food menu offers breakfast burritos, breakfast tacos, a fried chicken sandwich, and even Benedicts on the weekends. The avocado toast is a prime choice if you’re not looking for too heavy of a meal — adding an egg on top only makes it better. If it’s nice outside, the patio is the perfect place to settle in with a coffee and read for a while. — Rebecca Roland, editor, Eater Southern California/Southwest" - Eater Staff
"If you’ve ever typed something into a laptop with a slack-jawed expression, it’s likely you’ve been to Coffee Commissary. The rapidly growing coffee chain has developed into one of the most popular places to get work done in the city, and while their Fairfax location can be an all-out brawl (trust us, you won’t be able to find an outlet there), their Culver City outpost is much more relaxed." - kat hong
"Have you ever typed something into a computer? Maybe a joke you ripped from Reddit or a disjointed pilot outline your on-camera teacher told you to write? Then you’re probably at Coffee Commissary at this very moment. This modern coffee shop with all over the city is a struggling writer’s playground, but the Burbank location is the only one with a full breakfast and lunch menu. Because nothing will get your creative juices flowing like a fried chicken sandwich." - jess basser sanders, brant cox
