Love this place! It's as authentic as it gets. It's a little out of the way from the interstate but well worth it. Large portions and delicious southern BBQ with the fixins. And pie... We tried 3. Pecan and icebox lemon and peanut butter... Oh my

If I could shake Miss Myra’s hand, I would!! They had my plate in my hands before I could even fill up my drink cup. The staff were super sweet, and MAN was the food good. Really moist pork and excellent barbecue sauce. My highlight of the experience was the dessert. Here are my dessert rankings from what I sampled. 1. Coconut cream pie - wow was this good 2. Chocolate chess pie 3. Lemon icebox pie 4. Banana pudding 5. Chocolate cream pie 6. Peanut butter pie

I had the chicken plate with potato salad and cole slaw, the cole slaw is vinegar based and was very good. The potato salad was tasteless, it just had no flavor. My wife had a small pork plate with green beans, which are amazing and potato salad, she also said it was tasteless. The banana pudding made my wife cry, it was just like her Nanny's. The chocolate chess pie was amazing. Definitely a place to go back too. #AndrewZimmerman

I got the pleasure of having Miss Myra's granddaughter take my order and serve me. Friendly and straight forward with the menu. If you are looking for something frilly this isn't it.. Good old fashioned Alabama BBQ with banana 🍌 pudding made from scratch. This is the CHEERS of BBQ everyone knows your name and face of your a regular and there is no shortage of regulars here. I had the combo plate with 2 meats (chicken and pork), chicken was awesome, pork a little dry but great smoke flavor and when I added some red sauce it juiced it up 😉. Baked beans has a good taste with what seems to be a hint of honey.. I did get the banana pudding for desert and it was absolutely delicious. It was nice to relax and people watch while Myra and her team interacted with customers and served them up some great food.

Came here to try the BBQ after seeing all the good reviews. Order at the counter and food came out pretty quickly. Came here after 1pm on Saturday. No wait. Ribs are incredible, and probably the only meat I would come back for. Brisket was a bit dry. Chicken sandwich was not bad, especially if you put their white BBQ sauce - probably the best white sauce I have had. Potato salad is a can't miss as well.

We are visiting from Washington, DC and wanted bbq. Google lead us here with the great reviews and I'd like to leave another. What a wonderful experience we had today with our Pork family meal! My daughter, grandchildren, and I were very pleased with the offerings and the amount we received. The coleslaw reminded me of my Grandmother's back in the day. The sauces were great, especially the white one! We will be back! Thank you for providing such wonderful Alabama bbq! 🍖

Plan on a stop here. Just simply plan a stop. Andrew Zimmern not only stopped here, but said on TV it’s one of the places he’ll fly to for lunch. This is the reason I made it a stop on my travel list. The place is an old school mom and pop style. The decor won’t impress you, if you’re looking for fancy. It’s just functional, which is all it needs to enjoy good food. The ambiance in general is a good one. Employees are friendly, and so are the customers, and you are all there for the common reason of good food. It’s clear by the customer/employee chatter that there are regulars that stop in. We spoke to several that said they come every day for lunch. In fact, they suggested we try the chicken salad sandwich made with their smoked chicken. While I was all for that, I also wasn’t going to give up some of the smoked chicken itself either, so we got an assortment to share, so we could try a few different things. Neither one of us thought any of the sides stuck out much. They were decent, and nothing wrong with them, but also nothing to say “you must try these” to anyone. As for the rest, we got 1/4 smoked chicken, some pulled pork and the chicken salad sandwich. All 3 of them were very good. I’m not sure I’d place them above some spectacular ones I’ve had elsewhere, but they were certainly delicious. This is a great and known place to stop by. Some of the workers have been there for decades. It’s an old school small town feel, with great BBQ, and a pleasant atmosphere.

Down and gritty is what comes to mind when you walk into a place like this. It's all about the meat! And the meat is good. I had the small pork plate with greens and baked beans. The greens were good and the baked beans were average. The pork was good, a little dry, but nothing BBQ sauce won't fix. The star of the show was the Brunswick stew. It was delicious. Chicken and pork and vegetables in a savory base. If you like local small town places that have preserved their charm, you are at the right place!

On this day and a last minute idea I decided to pick up 3 slabs or ribs from Miss Myra's Pit BBQ, unfortunately I was disappointed. I am a fan of Miss Myra's this is why I was little shocked with their ribs. This was my first rib order and I was really surprised how little meat was on the ribs. I liked the caramelized sauce taste, however the charcoal tasting burned areas and the lack of meat wasn't what I expected. The desserts, my normal Thanksgiving and Christmas options are always excellent. They have my favorite Coconut pie and Banana Pudding. But, we need a good meal in front of this. I suggest chicken quarters with the Alabama white sauce and smoked sausage. When ribs cost $25 a slab anywhere you buy them should be something you want to return to buys again. I will continue to get my favorites from Miss Myra's but, done with their ribs.

Came here for dinner on a Friday evening. Plenty of available tables and not much wait time to order. I knew I wanted to try the classic Alabama white sauce when I was planning my trip to Birmingham and this spot was recommended to me by a few different lists. I'm usually not a huge mayo person so I was a little skeptical I'd enjoy the white sauce, but I liked it more than I was expecting to! You usually don't think chicken for bbq, but I do agree with the recommendations that the white sauce goes really well on it. It has a good tang to it, it reminded me of ranch but with the consistency of a traditional vinegar based bbq sauce. I'd stick this bbq style firmly in the B tier, would have again if presented with the opportunity, but probably won't seek it out again Sides were nothing too special, baked beans were pretty sweet and the deviled eggs were on the lower end of what you'd expect for a traditional feeling southern spot Overall I think this is a good place to check out if you find yourself in Birmingham and want to give the white sauce a try and get a feel for a more "authentic" bbq experience

We were here for an early dinner on a Thursday evening. Plenty of available tables and service were fast. Our food were delicious. We enjoyed our meal there.

Heard great things. So disappointed. This was not just bad, it was terrible. Tried ribs, beans, a pork sandwich & banana pudding. Dry Ribs, used the microwave to warm some of my food, stale bun on pork sandwich... banana pudding had been heated??? This cannot be representative of what made them famous. What is going on???

If you love the smell of bbq, this place is intoxicating. It smells so good! I love the smoked chicken, and especially the thigh and leg (dark meat) plate. The chicken is so tender it falls off the bone, and is very flavorful. Sauce is not necessary, but Miss Myra's white sauce is legendary. The white sauce is made with Mayonnaise, white vinegar, salt and pepper. If you have never tried white sauce, try it on their smoked chicken. It is fabulous! Service is great, The staff are long -time employees who take pride in cooking and serving authentic wood-smoked BBQ.

Great barbecue. . . Probably the best you will find in Birmingham. Fast and friendly service.

This place is a hidden gem that more people need to know about. It's a hidden location in the Cahaba Heights area, and if you're a BBQ fanatic like myself, then I advise you to visit this location. One can really tell the staff is seasoned and enjoy being there which is nice and the prices are very reasonable. PS, the service is also very quick.

Went to get some smoked chicken sandwiches. The staff ignored me for about 10 minutes, preferring to jaw with locals or whiners instead. The perfunctory attention I did get was very brusque to the point of being rude, and they got my to-go order wrong. The 3 (were supposed to be 4) sandwiches were inedible dry white meat. The sauce was gross - I like white sauce, but this had a funk to it that I could not figure out - maybe just old? I had asked for chips but they argued with me that the Golden Flake factory was closed so there were no chips. So we got fries, which were soggy before we left the store. I had high hopes for this, given its inclusion on Andrew Zimmern's show. But like his enthusiastic review of Nikki's West, it was waaaay off the mark.

Been hearing about this restaurant for a long time and how good the food is. So, I ended up coming here after leaving the Summit. Once you open your car door, you literally get hit with the pit smoke in your face and from there, I knew I was in for a treat. The ordering process was simple which I ended up getting a bbq rib plate with turnip greens and potato salad. The container itself was heavy which made me more excited to eat once I get home. Once I started eating, my excitement for the food went down. The ribs didn't have no type of flavor like rub seasoning and both of the side items were bland. For the price, I was expecting a it factor on the food.

Food was very dry, not very tasty, ribs must and chicken must have been from the day before. The table was sticky. There were 3 of us, and no one finished their food. It was very smoky, like there was no exhaust fan. We love eating local, mom and pop restaurants, but this was just a bad experience.

Service is great. Ambiance takes you back to grandmas house. Unfortunately the food just does not live up to the hype. Sadly dry and lacking flavor. Very confused by all its accolades.

I was passing through Birmingham and and decided to take a quick detour to Miss Myra's after reading up on Alabama BBQ. Walking up to the restaurant, you could smell and see the smoke coming from the chimneys, obviously this led to instant and unconscious salvations with the brain fully expecting a severing of smoked meats. I ordered the smoked pork plate and the smoked chicken plate. The pulled pork was flavorful but a bit dry. It came with a tangy white sauce which really helped cut the dryness off the meat. The chicken was perfectly smoked with a nice crunch and strong smokiness to the skin. Unfortunately, the sides of green beans, slaw, and greens all fell flat on flavor. Next time I need to save room for desert!

Have not had it in a while but,Never disappointed on my visit staff amazing and love the white sauce and angel eggs.

We tried the Ribs and Brisket and the meat was good. I'm from Texas and I brisket and there brisket was good if the review was just on meat I would have given a 4.5 .. But the sides did not impress at all we got bake beans, green beans and potato salad and devil eggs & banana pudding .. the bake beans were pork beans and not that good the potato salad had no flavor at all bland the green beans were ok and the devil eggs were ok and last but not least we got banana pudding was not good at all very disappointing I do not think the meal was worth the $65 we spent and I do not think we will be back.

This is classic southern bbq place with a twist, all the food is perhaps the best most consistently great in the city. The twist is the white sauce I recommend the pork plate with tater salad and turnip greens use the white sauce on everything you won't regret. It's as legit as real bbq gets and if your really lucky you get to say hey to Pearl...

What a spot! Dropped in looking for some top quality "white bbq" sauce in the Birmingham, AL area. This truly was a great experience. Friendly staff and the food was authentic southern cookin'. Would recommend getting the chicken with white bbq sauce, I got it in a sandwich - the chicken was so juicy and tender. Perfect for lunch. The prices were a so affordable too, who gives you more opportunity to try multiple things on the menu. The sides were awesome (green beans and slaw). The only downside to this place was that it was so smoky inside. We left smelling like BBQ - now I know what you are thinking...is that really a bad thing? Probably not - just depends on where you are heading after, worth being aware of.

So, this place, when you first drive up has the look and feel of something special BBQ related that is going to happen to you. Love the old style brick building, the pig décor that they have proudly on display in the windows and shelves inside. Walk up to the counter and place your order .... typical BBQ joint, you have the choice of individual meat plates or sandwiches. Then you pick sides to go along (potato salad, slaw, green beans, hard boiled eggs, greens, chips, etc - that may be all of them). I went for the pork plate with potato salad and slaw. Before placing my order, I told the gentleman this was my first trip ... he made sure to tell me what the house specialties were, including which sides were the best...in his opinion. He also let me know they have some of the best pie around if I saved some room for dessert. My food came out literally in less than five minutes. Now prices are on par with any other place that serves a BBQ plate. My only complaint is that the portion was on the small side for the price. That being said the food was good. The pork had a good smoke flavor and came out dry like I like it .... let me add my own BBQ, thank you! The potato salad was on the dry side, just how mom used to make it. The slaw was vinegar based with just a hint of sweet. Was this a full out no question 4 star place....probably not, but really felt unfair grading them as a 3 star. The service was outstanding and even though I ever so briefly complained about the portion size ... I left full. I'd recommend them if you're in the area.

Be sure and check out my BBQ experience here in the past. Ribs are always spot on even if I haven't written about them in a while. So first and foremost, go try those. More recently, I had a friend that came into town that is big into sweets and specifically requested pies since they don't get that kind of thing in south Florida. Even though I am not a big sweets person, I wanted to make sure and make this experience with all of the fan favorites. Miss Myra's seemed to have the biggest and most consistent variety. I have not had all of their pies through the years. And maybe I have had better specific ones. Hard to say. But variety is what I needed and that's what they had. Overall, every single pie was really, really good. Lemon icebox, peanut butter, pecan and we even threw in some banana pudding. What's not to like when it comes to a place that makes fantastic food from scratch. So good and just another addition to the things I can brag on from here!!

hands down the best chicken salad and brunswick stew in the city!! wonderful staff and a real down home feel to the restaurant.

Finally got a chance to eat here. The staff was super friendly and talked my ear off, loved it! I got the BBQ plate, loved the way they smoked it and love the fact that it's pulled. They actually know how to cook collards at this place! I also tried the Brunswick stew, I like to compare mine to see if I need to make any changes. I have to say, it was the weirdest, blandest Brunswick stew I have ever tasted or seen. Luckily they gave me some sides of BBQ sauce that I could add to it and that really helped. The few sides they have are really good but they could use Mac & cheese and maybe some fries for some carb choices.

Started going there at least 20 yrs ago; too long to remember!! Even have my adult children taking their children to Miss Myra's! (More like 30+ years!!)

Absolutely one of the best BBQ joints, not only in Birmingham, but in Alabama. It is a sweet little gem. It may not get the hype of others in the area, but it you want true, honest, signature-Alabama BBQ, you will be very hard pressed to find a better place. No frills, go for the white sauce, get the banana pudding, and just enjoy.

Very good BBQ joint. C and I split a Beef and Pork combo with Potato Salad and Deviled Eggs (yes...it's a standard side item). Both meats were very tender and tasty on their own. The sauce was good but not spectacular. I added lemon juice, pepper, and Tabasco to liven it up. Prices are on par with a fancier establishment and about $3 too high. The ribs looked good and they offer desserts as well. CASH ONLY!

It's just the best. Great smoke. I need to come back and try some more things since I've only had the pork.

This is a staple every time I am in Birmingham. You can smell it when you are getting close. The smoked chicken is incredible by itself, but with the white sauce????? Are you kidding me? Out. Of. This. World. The staff treats you like family. I can't get enough.

Housebound thanks to COVID for weeks and weeks, finally decided it was time to break free and get out a bit. A great thing about Atlanta is there is so much that's within a pretty easy drive. Our destination was BBQ and we settled on purveyors of excellent white sauce and chicken. Skimming online, Miss Myra's came up time and again (along with Big Bob Gibson's place up in Decatur, AL). Miss Myra's it is... As it always seems the case, Miss Myra's is located in a nondescript neighborhood just outside of B'ham, occupying the end of a multi unit building. The light blue smoke cloud and hickory smoke aroma surrounds you as soon as you exit your car. In that good kind of way. Social distancing was in full effect, so the dining room was closed but they had a few tables outside set up. Parking was a breeze with what looks to be ample parking for not only the restaurant but the other businesses. Chicken is the thing here from everything we'd read. So that was a must do. But, I'm always curious to try other items to get a better sense of the restaurant overall. I ordered a combo plate of 1/4 white meat chicken, which came as breast with the wing, ribs, and two sides - beans and coleslaw. About as true to BBQ a meal as you probably could get. The food The chicken was delicious. Hands down the co-star of the show (more on that in a minute). Moist, just that right amount of smoke and skin that was somewhat crispy but a little rubbery in other places - a byproduct of low and slow sometimes unfortunately. I'd guess that Miss Myra is brining her chicken the day before to ensure it's nice and moist. Trying the chicken without any sauce or anything else and you definitely get a light salt component to the flavor... so they're either dry or wet brining their chicken. It's an extra step that takes time, takes space and takes effort that, frankly, a lot of chicken cooks just don't do. If she doesn't brine, then I'm even more impressed. The ribs were full pork spare ribs, so a fair amount of food but comes with the tips and the associated "hardware" that God uses to hold everything together. If you're definition of ribs are baby backs (now hum that song, you're welcome for the earworm), you might not dig these. Sadly, the ribs had really not a lot of flavor overall. No smoke character, no seasoning (not a demerit, just a choice by the chef), and they were drier than they really should be. I'd skip these next time. The sides were, frankly, kinda forgettable. The beans were brown sugar bombs and that's about it. The coleslaw is that fine dice cut, and the dressing was more heavily white vinegar focused and quite a bit of celery seed. The sauces - I'll admit the concept of white BBQ sauce is a new one to me, but after using their tangy-vinegary-peppery white sauce on that super moist smoked chicken... yeah, I get it now. Their "traditional" red sauce was great too, but the white really made the chicken sing (cluck?). Now, I mentioned a co-star up top. That co-star is the homemade banana pudding. O. M. G. This is down home, hand crafted deliciousness. Nice and sweet overripe bananas in good chunks, a luscious and velvety custard.... just simply summer in a cup. So good. We also tried one of the ice box pies which was itself pretty good, but didn't hold a candle to the banana pudding. Thankfully, Miss Myra shared her recipe (or probably one that's pretty close, but not exactly the recipe) with Andrew Zimmerman's and it's been published. Yes, I've already bought the Nilla Wafers and bananas to let ripen. So, would I drive two hours to eat Miss Myra's, maybe. If I can't replicate her banana pudding recipe from the one that's online... then hell yes. Oh, and it's a family run business, service was kind and the food came out quickly, can't speak for the experience if the dining room were open. Should you support them, yes. So why three stars, it's a tough one because some items shined and others were just ho-hum. If it were chicken, white sauce and banana pudding only, then a very solid 4 stars. But the sides which were nondescript and ribs that were just not great pulled it down.

Sad to say, been coming here on and off for years. The meat was tough and dry, the sauce did not help. The greens were right out of a can. The banana pudding was good. The service was good, and staff was friendly. As for the restaurant, has not changed at all, just doesn't look clean, chair seats were worn out cracked and just did not look clean. Will not be back.

Was looking for a bbq joint and found it ! The brisket was fabulous as was the chicken with white sauce. Sides were very complimentary to the bbq. Service was at the counter, quick and easy. It's a dive as it should be.

The food is delicious. A bit pricey but delicious. Service was excellent. The bathroom was pretty grimy. And I wish restaurants would stop using styrofoam, especially for customers that are eating there. Judging by the number of people there on a holiday Monday, I'd say this is a popular spot, though. Worth a stop if you're passing by.

Amazing BBQ! The great smoke smell hits you as you are walking up. I have eaten lots of BBQ places and this was probably the best!

My first southern BBQ experience- so good!! I had the pulled pork with green beans and white sauce. Yum-my!! I had the white sauce and they even threw in a free pork rib. Believe it or not I was pleasantly surprised by how much I liked the green beans! Such nice people and great food!

Miss Myra is doing her thing. The food is good, the ambiance is old school and you won't leave hungry.

We took visiting family to Miss Myra's for a long-awaited BBQ feast over New Years. Due to Covid, it was the first time in over two years we had been there. Nothing has changed, thankfully. The to-die-for chicken, chopped pork and pork ribs were all actually better than the last time we indulged so completely. The sides were great, if not spectacular, but the star of our meal was the 'cue. All types were delicious - perfectly cooked and seasoned. The Miss Myra's entire crew was outgoing and friendly. We won't wait long before visiting again. This place is the real deal!

Where to start, service... Don't go if you are in a hurry. Price is about average as all other BBQ places thru out Birmingham. I got the sm pulled pork with deviled eggs and slaw. BBQ had zero sauce, which is a good and bad thing. So the flavor was JUST smokey. Each table has 2 BBQ sauces, red and white. Red sauce was average, nothing to write home to mom about. The white sauce was a mayonnaise type taste. It was not bad but not my taste. All and all it was average at best, not sure i would go out of my way to eat here but..... If you have plenty of time to wait and you like your BBQ with out sauce then try it you may like it. As for the deviled eggs, they were ok at best. The coleslaw, decent vinegar based slaw.

I had a small pork plate with baked beans and slaw. Absolutely delicious- cleaned the plate! Enjoyed the pickle spear! Martin had the small chicken plate, and Tim had the large chicken plate. 3 clean plates! I had red sauce and Martin used the white sauce. Tim had both. Steep prices, but inline with everybody. I really enjoyed my first trip here. I got the bbq chicken sandwich which was delicious. My daughter and I came back last night and it just wasn't an overall good experience. We both got the pork plate, baked beans and potato salad which came with a roll. The pork was good, the potato salad was meh and the baked beans just tasted like canned. But what puzzled me were the small portions. I just think I'll pass on Miss Myras in the future. There are too many excellent bbq joints in the Ham.

Interestingly all wrong, if that makes sense. I get the previous reviews on how long the establishment has existed, the idea of good down home BBQ among the big 3 chains, and the mystique behind a dimly lit place tourist wouldn't think twice about choosing to eat. Not a good first impression. I say this with the utmost respect for my fellow Yelpers, even those who provided good reviews for this place. Décor: As you drive by, it is undoubtedly dimly- lit and looks closed. Okay. When you enter, it IS dimly-lit. However, when you peek on the other half of the place, they​ must've got new bulbs because it's pretty bright. I'm not sure why, but I think most reviewers wouldn't accept a dimly-lit joint at any other restaurant, but for some reason, it's​ okay here. Just keeping it 100. Food: I respect a restaurant that's been around for decades, but prompting accountability, consistency for good food, service, and atmosphere is why I personally think Yelp is such a great tool for consumers. Miss Myra's, we have some work to do! Ribs: Smoked scent and flavor, decent, edible, gristle pops out into your mouth in chunks like it's been overcooked, but I'm not afraid of a little gristle...just have your napkin ready to collect a few on the side your plate. Pulled Pork: Dry, shredded okay, and screaming to be bathed in their decent sauce...I wasn't disgusted by it, but seriously, you know good and well there is room for improvement. If the other Big 3 can serve moist pulled pork, so can you. Especially since you have the opportunity to provide a more personal touch to each batch. Please improve this for me as a first time customer AND loyal customers afraid to be honest. Potato salad: Don't do it to yourself...I try not to think really good food needs too much seasoning after it's served, but their potato salad is nothing to write home about...no paprika, relish, mustard, small or medium chunks of potato?? Bland mush resembling a scoop of ice cream. Greens and Baked Beans: Categorized together because they were served as such: canned and overcooked, c'mon Miss Myra!! I'm originally from the 'burgh, but my mom used to get Kale and Collards from the Strip District, cookem' for hours and the seasoning, texture, a few shakes of hot sauce would make you wanna pause! Mushy greens (spinach-like) and smashed baked beans (like sweet potato casserole) are an insult to good-paying customers...respectfully, please cook them appropriately. Service: I've been to a few places with a slight sting in the service. You know, the type of place with no smiles, advice for the 1st time customer, no thank you at the counter or come again when leaving. However, don't overdo it. It doesn't take much to not: look bothered when customers order, bark that you don't have mac & cheese...have the nerve to place a tip section on the receipt, and yell the order for customers to pick up their own food (I'm no stranger to getting my own food, but really!?). Why are so many reviewers accepting of this type of service at Miss Myra's, but not other places...hmmm? Like I said earlier, accountability and consistency. Recommendations: -don't overcook the baked beans -don't use canned greens -find a new recipe for potato salad -slightly better service for a tip or to be welcoming, or just because you want return customers -new lighting, dim lighting hints at an establishment hiding something or serves as a distraction -downsize the pig collection, we get it...it's becoming too much

Just didn't do it for me. I've heard rave reviews from multiple people of Miss Myra's, so I was looking forward to checking it out, but I was terribly disappointed. I've been to at least five other popular barbecue places in Birmingham since moving to the area and this was the first of the restaurants that wasn't stellar. I ordered a small pork plate with baked beans and greens. The greens tasted like they were canned. The beans had a nice flavor, but were overcooked and "mushy". The pulled pork was incredibly dry. I attempted to add barbecue sauce, but I did not enjoy the taste of the red sauce (and I'm not a fan of white sauce), so it was a no win situation. The plate was also served with a roll that definitely came out of a bag. I ate two bites of everything and threw the rest away. This is the first restaurant experience I can remember where I did not eat my food and left hungry. The one plus, I had a chance to taste one of my husband's ribs and it was okay. It wasn't spectacular, but it was decent. Nice smokey flavor and crisp on the outside. The service was underwhelming, as well. No smiles, no friendliness, just going through the motions. Although I hate to judge a place based on one experience, based on all the other fabulous BBQ options in Bham, it isn't likely I will return.

Super, actually, hyper traditional BBQ! Everything in this place looks it was frozen in time several decades ago, from the cash register to the... everything! I enjoyed my meal a lot. The ribs didn't come overpacked of sauces and stuff, but the taste was full and great. The desserts is their kick, so you gotta have it! Simple, humble, good, cute place

This is a fantastic place to get BBQ! The food is delicious and the staff is very friendly. We are from Washington State. When we travel through Birmingham (sadly only every two years or so) we always make a point to stop here and have a wonderful meal.

With so many great BBQ places in Bama, it is easy to find good food and Miss Myra's doesn't disappoint. However, what really sets Miss Myra's apart from the other BBQ joints are the desserts. Haven't found anyone that comes close to the pies and banana pudding at Miss Myra's. Will frequently go by several days in a row and just get dessert.

A staple in Cahaba Heights for decades. Excellent pork and chicken, homemade sides and off the rails pies. It's a dive... I'm pretty sure there's dirt and grease left over from when I first started eating here in the 80's and that's part of the attraction. Know what you want before you get to the counter.

I came here due to finding this popular place on An app called roadtrippers. I came on a Wednesday evening and it wasn't busy at all. I ordered the rib platter with green beans and deviled eggs. The portion was large and it was all super delicious. I ended up ordering another rib platter to go for my boyfriend and had 2 slices of pie: peanut butter and lemon ice box. Both were phenomenal. The staff was very friendly and helpful and attentive. They even gave me water for my dog as we just came from hiking. They also gave me a couple smoked bones to take home for my dogs. Which was very nice of them to do so. Overall, the food tasted great and I was so happy to finally try Alabama's white sauce. I will definitely return in the future.

So so good! We came in here after looking at the pictures on yelp and oh my word! I was already happy when we walked in and smelled the smoked bbq at the door. We were greeted and served quickly (takeout). There are cute little piggy figurines everywhere super cute! I'm from Washington State and you can not find good Q like this. Also the lady was so kind to give me double peanut butter pie which by the way is my altimeter favorite! Score! If you are not from here and looking for some good rich flavored food, do not pass this place up. You can thank me later :) sorry I don't have a picture....couldn't help myself, I ate it all lol.
