I came in for a solo Tuesday night dinner around 8 PM and was greeted right away with warmth and professionalism. The staff kindly directed me to the bar (open seating), and I loved the vibe: relaxed, good energy, not too crowded, and easy to settle in without feeling crammed.
I ordered the artichoke and leek dish along with the Amaro Glazed Ribs from the happy hour menu, and wow, the ribs were the standout. They fell right off the bone and had that signature New Mexican flavor. Not spicy, just deeply flavorful, rich, and comforting. The kind of dish that reminds you why local flavor matters. The ribs alone would bring me back.
To drink, I had the Baroma cocktail, which was absolutely delicious. It had this beautiful, spiced complexity without overwhelming heat. Just enough kick to keep things interesting, and I’d recommend it without hesitation. I also had a glass of Gruet sparkling wine, which paired nicely with everything and felt like a little local nod.
One great surprise: happy hour runs all night on Tuesdays and isn’t just small bites, as it includes full dishes and craft cocktails, and the portions are generous. The beef tips caught my eye but will have to wait for next time. They looked like a full dinner plate for just eight bucks.
This was my second visit to M’tucci’s Bar Roma, and both times the staff has been kind, efficient, and genuinely welcoming. Whether you’re going solo like I did or with friends, it’s the kind of place where you feel comfortable right away. It’s rare to find somewhere that hits the trifecta of great service, great food, and a laid-back atmosphere without any pretension.
If I had one tiny suggestion: a touch more lighting at the bar might help bring out the color and presentation of the food, because it deserves to be seen as much as tasted :)
Whether you’re a local or just passing through Nob Hill, this is a gem worth making time for. I’ll definitely be back!
