Best Thai Restaurants in San Francisco | Eater SF

"Saap Ver specializes in what it calls “authentic country-style Thai street food” and is located on the edge of Potrero Hill. The restaurant offers delivery, but diners who step in will be charmed by the Thai movie posters on the walls and lively feel of the space. Order the Thai shrimp paste fried race, which comes laced with sweet pork, Chinese sausage, dried shrimp, and mango — a rarely seen dish in San Francisco — or the hearty beef noodle soup, which comes with sliced flank steak, beef meatballs, and vegetables." - Eater Staff

The food here is incredibly fresh and flavorful and authentic. Their sweet fresh coconut was so refreshing and delicious. perfect for cooling down the flavorful dishes. Our food came out surprisingly fast, which was great because we were starving! Everything we ordered was absolutely delicious, made with fresh ingredients and bold Thai flavors. We may have over-ordered but the food was so good that we finished every last bite. Highly recommend this spot for anyone craving authentic Thai cuisine!

Google
Picked up some takeout food from this restaurant and enjoyed everything we ordered. Flavor and spice levels were very good. All the dishes and a good amount of meat in them. Pick up was ready in a timely fashion. Looking forward to trying out more menu options next time

Google
Had lunch with a friend here and everything was expected very delicious since we were introduced by one of my foodie friends. The Thai food here were authentic and good since I don’t really eat spicy everything was perfect wasn’t over spiced at all. The only thing I would work on is the cocktails, didn’t taste the alcohol 😅don’t get me wrong I’m also not an alcoholic. Other than that everything was perfect

Google
Nice place with lots of seating inside, they have a few 2 / 4 tops and some communal tables. It gets very busy and I can see why. The food is flavorful, fragrant and just amazing . I ordered the pumpking curry with chicken and a side of sticky rice. You can choose the lever of spice and got the spicy, it was very balanced and delicious.

Google
Saap has some of the best Thai food in San Francisco Food: very authentic and the spice level is on the Spicer side. I choose medium or 3. Thai hot is very hot. My favorites are the larb salad, som tum poo pla ra, tom yum fried rice, pad see ew and pad Thai. They get very good wokhey on the noodles. I also love the chicken wings and the north east sausage Ambience: Street food vibes. Fun to watch the live counters Price: saap is a little pricey when compared to some of the other options in the city but the taste more than makes up for it IMO. 30-40$ per head is a reasonable estimate for an app and main. Service: friendly servers. They arranged a free desert for us on our anniversary. 10/10 will visit many more times

Google
Reminds me a lot of Farmhouse Thai in the mission. My curry was really good. Very flavorful and filling. But everyone else’s meal at my table was underwhelming. The prices seemed a little higher too. Not much else to say..

Google
Very good Thai food without having to go to the TL. The food portion is large. They are very generous with proteins in their carb based dishes: like fried rice and noodles. I ordered the crab fried rice and it was huge with lots of crab meat. The chicken wings were also delicious. The Tom yum had large shrimps and lots of veggies. I ordered the duck salad as well. They also provide lime to squeeze. It is quite loud inside with lots of tv. They have some outdoor seating and parking was easy on a Sunday.

Google
fun atmosphere and delicious food! be warned though - spicy is actually really spicy! 🥵🌶️ overall, i’d come back but get my meal medium spicy only saap ver damn good: tasty cocktail with right balance of sweet and savory. don’t think it’s worth $13 considering it’s only soju spicy basil chicken (spicy): really flavorful! juicy chicken with good portions but the spicy was too spicy. rice for $3 a scam though. medium spice is perf! pad kee mow (chicken, medium spice): another great dish from saap ver, could get spicier next time though duck curry: creamy and flavourful, delicious curry. duck was well cooked samosas: solid but could be spicier

Yelp
Great casual Thai restaurant with an extensive menu and colorful decor! My friend and I got seated immediately for a Friday Night dinner, and shared the roasted duck curry and the saap ver fried rice, which I both enjoyed! The roasted duck curry was flavorful and had a good amount of duck, although the duck itself was a little salty. The saap ver fried rice had hints of lime which I liked. It was decently spicy which I didn't expect but a little bit of a kick was nice, and the pork belly was indeed crispy -- maybe a little too crispy because sometimes the skin was pretty hard to bite into. But overall both dishes tasted great, and I'd love to come back and try more.

Yelp
I called to make a same day reservation for my group of 5 on a Saturday at 7:30pm. The restaurant was about 90% full. We ordered the following: Pad cha scallop 3/5 (there's lots of baby scallops) Stir fried squid with salted egg yolk 2/5 (squid was chewy) Pad Thai with shrimp 2/5 (way too saucy for our liking) Grilled pork shoulder 5/5 Tofu, mixed vegetable 5/5 Crispy rice salad 5/5 Sticky rice and garlic ginger rice 5/5 Service 5/5 Please note, for our group of 5, an automatic 20% tip was added to the bill even though there is a "suggested tip" section too: 18%-25%. I didn't notice until after I left the restaurant and I had to go back to get it reversed. Also note, mild is still pretty spicy.

Yelp
The food was incredible here. I ordered a variety of dishes, but my favorites were the scallops and larb. I also got a lychee drink with a tart rim - the drink wasn't too sweet which I prefer. This place was massive, and it had a cool bar vibe because of all the TVs . Great for groups and we didn't have to wait too long for seating. We parked on the street, but I can see how it would be tough to find parking. The server delivered our food very quickly and gave us suggestions on what to order. Overall, a really pleasant experience, and it felt private enough to have a conversation.

Yelp
Saap ver thai is absolutely delicious! I love coming to this Thai spot anytime I am in mission bay as every dish is packed with tons of flavor and just the right amount of spice. One of my go to dishes is the Thai style yellow curry with chicken which is served with a cup of steaming hot white rice and has just a hint of sweetness to it. The Thai iced tea is also potent and strong while being creamy and sweet. If you love some good Thai food, great vibes, and kind servers then definitely check out this spot!

Yelp
Came to try this place with friends, one of whom had recommended this place! Definitely my favorite Thai food place in the city now! We ordered the five spice pork leg over rice, pad see ew, and saap ver fried rice. All the dishes were amazing! The five spice pork leg was seasoned well and I loved the picked veggies and egg on the side. The pad see ew was cooked so well and I loved the texture of the noodles as well as the accompanying tofu and veggies- the mushroom is also a nice touch that I haven't seen in other dishes! I also enjoyed the saap ver fried rice, and it was unlike any other fried rice I had had before- was both my friends' favorite! The ambiance is also so pretty- there are decorative flowers hanging from the ceiling, and other wall hangings. There are also TVs which had the game on. The service was also good, and the servers were attentive! Overall, I would definitely come back again to try other dishes, and also to reorder these three! Food summary: Five spices pork leg 8/10 Definitely one of my favorite dishes that we ordered! The meat is seasoned on the sweeter side! Saap ver fried rice 8/10 Delicious! Combined sour and spicy flavors very well! Pad see ew 10/10 I loved this dish a lot, and I would come back just to order this dish! Loved the mushrooms!

Yelp
Can't believe I've been missing out on this place for so long! There were plenty of tables on a Sunday night at 6:30 PM but it soon grew crowded. The decor inside is so beautiful and lively; I spent a lot of time just admiring it. The waitstaff were super friendly and kindly kept checking in with us as the night went on, even as it got busier. My friend and I got the Pad Thai with Tofu and the Saap Ver Fried Rice to share. We got the fried rice mild since I know Thai spice does NOT play around. Even as someone who is good with spice, I felt that if I had ordered a higher level I would not enjoy it as much. Pad Thai with Tofu: 5/5, loved it! The noodles were perfectly chewy and the flavor was wonderful. The star was the tofu, I loved that it was in large chunks that kept some of the smoother texture and wasn't over-fried. Saap Ver Fried Rice: 5/5, LOVED this! The pork was so crispy and yummy, and there was plenty of it. I loved the spice on the rice, and the rice was not too dry. Not a single grain of rice was left behind. The portions were so generous and the atmosphere was so upbeat inside the restaurant. I now have a new go-to Thai place, can't wait to come back!

Yelp
I've been on the hunt for a go-to Thai spot in the city. Decided to check out Saap Ver, located in the Design District of SF. Lots of street parking available nearby. Service was good. Waiters very friendly and attentive. The atmosphere inside is super vibrant and noisier than your average restaurant. There are large TVs and separate seating for bars. The tables are large so it's a great a place for bigger groups and friends to get together. There are a ton of food options. Your traditional dishes can be a la carte or individual and there are Thai street food options too. - Tom Yum Soup (Shrimp): 7.5/10 Nice spicy kick to the broth. Super flavorful. A "cup" size is $15 and can be split for 2 people but feels a bit short. - Pad Thai w Chicken and tofu: 10/10. Love how the noodles were cooked. Super saucy and had a nice tamarind tang to it. Huge portion. - Green Curry w/ Chicken: 6.5/10. This one was a miss. Flavor was there but the curry was too watery for my liking and I found they were a bit skimpy with the portions. The dish also didn't come with rice so you had to order a side of rice for an additional $3. - Eggplant Basil Tofu Veggie: 10/10. Perfect flavor, perfect assortment of veggies. Easily the best dish of the night. Overall, Saap Ver offers a great hangout spot for larger groups. The atmosphere inside is lively and everything inside promotes a fun environment. I could see myself coming back and sitting at the bar for their drinks and ordering some small bites from their street food selection. Because it is super lively inside and the restaurant is on the pricier side ($$), this wouldn't be my go-to spot for Thai food, especially since I'm looking for something more casual.

Yelp
I've come here twice and both times were so tasty! Whenever I have friends visit the city, this is a great spot to take them since the ambiance feels like you're in Thailand and I like the vintage posters all over. We came with a party of 10 and had a lunch reservation on a Friday. They prepped a long table for us and service was super friendly and quick which was a plus since our group was hungry. We got: Papaya salad Burmese style (4/5): if you don't like fish sauce don't get this because its prominent. Pad Thai and Pad see ew (5/5): noodles are perfectly charred yet soft. Flavor is strong and authentic. Crying tiger steak (5/5): steak was medium rare and juicy. The crying tiger sauce was so good Duck curry (5/5): only a few pieces of duck though. Curry was creamy and flavorful Saap Ver and Crab fried rice (5/5). Not pictured but lots of crab shreds and quantity was large. Good to share I'd definitely come back when I'm in the area!

Yelp
Saap Ver is a great find in the Design District! The place has a fun, lively vibe with unique decorations and a bar seating area as well. I ordered to-go and tried the crispy pork belly with jasmine rice. The dish was super flavorful and had a nice kick to it--the spicy, garlicky krapao-style sauce over the crispy pork belly and bell peppers was delicious. Only downside was that it took a while for the food to come out, which I wasn't expecting with a to-go order. Still, the taste definitely made up for it, and I'd love to come back to try more items on the menu. Overall, a solid spot for tasty Thai food, seems like they have other yummy menu items as well. 4 stars!

Yelp
My friend took me here for dinner and told me it was one of her favorite Thai spots. I can see why! This eatery is lively but not chaotic or too loud. The ambiance is very festive. The food was really good. We got naked shrimp, which was delicious. I was hesitant at first, but was sold by the first bite. The noodles were also delightful here. We got a curry, which wasn't too spicy! Parking wasn't bad; we got a spot out in front. All in all, would recommend for low key delicious Thai food.

Yelp
My first time visiting here the other day and it did not disappoint! The ambiance felt very casual dressed with high top tables, it was a bit stuffy and I usually don't get hot too easily. Service was a bit all over the place, we had multiple people helping us in addition to our server, and I had to flag someone down when our server was nowhere to be found. She had given us 5 plates instead of 6 so we were waiting around before we could eat. Food was great though! Unfortunately they ran out of Thai tea at 7pm on a Saturday - that just tells me it was really popular! The Lao appetizer was probably my favorite - the crispy rice was delish and the sauce paired really well. The Lao sausage had good flavor but was a bit on the dry side. The yellow curry was a bit watery for my liking but flavor was there! Roti seemed a bit premade considering how flat it was and not as flaky as I'm used to, but it was good. The duck over rice was amazing! Loved the in depth savory flavors, exactly what I'm looking for in Lao cuisine. I did also have the lao style papaya salad and it was yummy, definitely an acquired taste for some but it's always a must have when it's on the menu. Def looking forward to come back again and try new items + their Thai tea!

Yelp
My first time here yesterday! Love the vibe and the food. I had small tom yum prawn soup. There are 2 big blue river prawns in the soup. However, I don't think it's that fresh. The soup itself is thick, creamy and tasty. I like! For the main dish, I ordered thai shrimp paste fried rice. I like all the ingredients and how they are plated. This is definitely a great dish to try. I also love the retro decoration style. It's so vibrant and fun. Definitely. Give it a try if you are in the neighborhood.
google avatar

Joyce L.

Yelp
I enjoyed the food here! We got the tom yum prawn hot pot & Thai shrimp paste fried rice. Good flavors, good portions. Their saap ver damn good cocktail was also enjoyable. As is typical of Bay Area, pricing is higher than preferred for Thai food. But they have plenty of seating, so good for group dining.
google avatar

Austin H.

Yelp
I absolutely love Saap Ver - a top 5 Thai food spot in the Bay Area! I think all of the dishes here are great - you cannot go wrong. I recommend making a reservation in advance via Yelp. The wait can be almost 30 minutes during dinner time on the weekends. The noodles of the pad thai are cooked so well. The red curry beef is warm and beef itself is flavorful. The tom yum fried rice is a go-to for me - it definitely tastes like tom yum. Service: servers are nice. Ambiance: It is quite dim inside. Very decorative, festive, and modern. Ample seating inside, so good for large parties!
google avatar

Arthur T.

Yelp
Friend took me to try out Sapp Ver Thai! Two of us ate: -beef noodle soup $16 -pad see ew beef $16 -wagyu basil tray $30 I personally enjoyed the beef noodle soup and pad see ew. The wagyu basil tray was a bit underwhelming for the value...although flavors were good. 5% SF mandate charge included in bill. Staff was friendly and attentive. Street parking only.
google avatar

Stephanie L.

Yelp
Noms: Food was delicious and very well seasoned. For the two noodle dishes, you can choose your spice level too. My favorite was definitely the crispy chicken with ginger rice because it felt so well balanced and the chicken was cooked perfectly. Papaya salad was also the right amount of spice! Service: Staff were extremely friendly and didn't rush my table at all. They kept coming around to check on my table and always had a smile on their face. We were a large group of 12, but they accommodated us super well! Vibes: SO CUTE INSIDE. I loved the vibes and how upbeat it would get later in the night. It felt like they were pulling inspiration from Thai street food spaces, while maintaining fancy and trendy vibes. I could see myself not only coming here with my friends, but for a yummy dinner with the fam.
google avatar

Roy L.

Yelp
Never had a traditional Thai food, but this place takes the cake It was so different than your normal Thai food, even though they have the normal types of food such as pad, Thai and Thai fried rice Service was quick and fast Ambience is a little bit loud Parking would be an issue if it was busy weekend
google avatar

Jessica C.

Yelp
Whoever was the chef/cook on 10/9/24 around 8PM, please be there more often! I've been here multiple times with my family and friends and tonight's food is the best in terms of flavor and quality! Our go-to dishes: Thai BBQ chicken Sizzling seafood platter Crispy pork belly with basil Tom Yum Soup with Shrimp Pork Shoulder Salad The only negative I have to mention is that the music is too loud that we have to yell at each other. Our throats always hurt from shouting across the table every time we eat here. Overall, this is an establishment we will keep coming back to!
google avatar

Amy T.

Yelp
Definitely one of the best Thai places in the city. Food is delicious and a bit pricey. Very chill atmosphere with music. My faves here: tomyum soup with Thai prawns, pad see ew or pad kee mow. My main feedback for the owner/staff: - please answer your phones. I called the number on yelp 3 times in a 20 min period on a weekday in the early evening and no one picks up and it was not busy when I had to walk in to put in my order. - if someone is ordering to go, you need to provide napkins and utensils or offer. Not everyone is going straight home and have access to utensils. I was shocked to find nothing in my stapled bag but the food without an utensil to eat it. Make the effort.
google avatar

Yelp
The Best!! The best Thai food, best cocktails, best service. My husband and I came here for an anniversary dinner as a recommendation, I will be forever grateful we did. We walked in to a lively atmosphere of conversations and music, and awesome Thai celebrity wall paper!! A green flag as we sat down, the table leaving raving and thanking their server and saying they were recommended by their Thai hairstylist and would 1,000% be back. My pin up girl cocktail came in a mini watermelon and was so tasty!! Every single dish we were served exceeded expectations!! Super impressed and will definitely be back even though we live an hour away!

Yelp
Living on the peninsula, I'm challenged with finding a good Thai restaurant. Lucky for me I can easily drive into the city and go to Saap Ver. The problem is, so can everyone else because it was really busy for a Monday night. We had to wait for a table but got seated at a 6 top that they separated with a plant so another party of two could sit next to us. We ordered the fish cake, Thai basil pork belly, tom kha chicken soup and garlic ginger rice. The food was so good, with lots of flavor in each bite. The Tom kha chicken soup was just what I needed to clear my congestion on such a cold night. The fish cake was good with the spicy sauce and cucumbers. As crowded as the place was, it definitely had a lively feel to it. There were a few large parties near us that seemed to be celebrating a birthday. It's a fun place and definitely on the louder side, so be prepared. Also, mild is spicy so if you can't handle spice let them know so you can order appropriately. Enjoy!
google avatar

Phoebe W.

Yelp
Had a great time at Saap Ver on a Monday night! It was very lively and the staff were very nice. I thought the food was also great. I especially enjoyed the pad see ew with pork and the grilled pork shoulder. I would definitely come back to try more.
google avatar

Michelle Z.

Yelp
Really unique Thai options you don't see often! Great prices and good place to go with a group to try a bunch of dishes. Ambiance inside is super lively and gets packed super quick, so consider making a reservation or going a little early to avoid a wait. Would also be a fun place to celebrate a birthday! For a group of 5, we ordered the crispy basil duck, crispy rice salad, pad see ew, saap ver fried rice, and pumpkin curry. It was the perfect amount of food! Favorites were the crispy rice salad, the saap ver fried rice, and the pumpkin curry. The crispy rice salad is strong on the gingery flavor, and the fried rice is very unique in flavor -- definitely not your typical fried rice, and the pork belly in it is so crispy! Pumpkin curry comes with tofu normally but we subbed chicken, and it had a classic coconut flavor. Felt that the basil duck and pad see ew were a bit too greasy for me. Still super flavorful and delicious though. Really friendly and attentive service as well, and food comes out so fast.
google avatar

Joey Y.

Yelp
I absolutely love coming here! The vibe is so beautiful; it really transports me to Thailand, even though I've never been. The food tends to be on the spicier side, so keep that in mind--what they label as mild is still quite spicy! They do offer an extra mild option, which is perfect if you're sensitive to heat. This is probably my fourth time visiting, and the food is consistently amazing, especially their chicken larb and curry. Highly recommend!
google avatar

Brenda H.

Yelp
The Red Curry Beef was so flavorful and the perfect amount of spice (we got medium). It was sweet but tangy, and it paired well with the Saap Ver Fried Rice. The crispy pork in the fried rice was cooked well, with a very nice crunch, and the rice was flavorful as well. The only thing I'd improve is that the portion size of the fried rice could be increased. Overall, the service was quick and we had a great dining experience!

Yelp
I went to Thailand this summer & haven't tried Thai food since coming back to the USA. but thank goodness I came here because this is AUTHENTIC AF. First of all, when you walk in, you feel like you're in Thailand because of the decor & most of the people working speak Thai. I used some of my Thai phrases like saweedee ka & kap kun ka lol! I love the roasted duck over rice ($25) it was cooked so well! It's also pretty large. I'm hoping to come back to try more food. Yummm

Yelp
No other restaurant gonna THAI me down as much as this spot. SAAP-er solid food here, for half the price of Farm House. .:: FOOD ::. Roasted Duck Curry $28: one of the table's favorite. I love duck and I love curry. Flavors were all there. Salted Wings $12: Good crispy little snacks, the wings are not what you are thinking of. Its like a short skinny little bite on bone. Easy to eat Saap Wings $14: deep fried thai country style chicken wings with spicy and sour Som Tum Poo Pla Ra $16: hand pounded green papaya salad , rice field salted crab, thai creamy anchovy, thai eggplant, cherry tomato, green bean, garlic, chili and fish sauce Crying Tiger $30: SIZZLING plate- premium rib eye steak, broccoli, green bean, roasted carrot. tender pieces. we all really liked this as well. Great seasoning. Saap Ver Fried Rice $20: crispy pork belly, green onion, red onion, mint, garlic, roasted rice powder, and thai spicy powder. great dish to share. love a good aromatic fried rice. Pad Thai $20: such a classic, rice noodle, tofu, egg, chive, peanut, bean sprout. They did good on this, noodles were not clumped. We got this with prawn and another with chicken. Tom Yum Prawn $26: blue river prawns, mushroom, tomato, lemon grass, kaffir lime leaf, half and half chili paste. a weeeee bit too spicy for me but i have absolutely ZERO tolerance. My friends all really liked this Chicken Satay $14: grilled marinated chicken skewers served with peanut sauce and cucmber salad. They did a good job, very juicy. Sometimes it a bit dry but they did good here. Thai Iced Tea $6: a weeee bit watered down. Could have used more of the thai tea .:: Service / Ambiance / Parking ::. Great serice. We came with a part of 11, and made resy in advance so we sat down immediately and they had the table ready already. The place was very colorful with lots of lights and colorful flags, and a very all out wall of pics Parking was easy on a weekend. We did free street parking after 6pm

Yelp
So good!!! Large selection of items, quick to seat, fairly quick to serve. The interiors are vibey too. One word of caution that spicy is actually quite spicy and if you're not careful you might cry and dry heave through what was supposed to be a casual catch up conversation with your friends but turned out to be the fight for your life. I respect it honestly

Yelp
One of the best Thai restaurants in SF!!! Food tasted great and service was promoted.

Yelp
Came in on a Friday night for dinner and oh wow this place was so lively. We made a reservation but had to wait a little to get seated. They have a good variety of dishes ranging from cheap to slightly more expensive. We ordered a couple dishes to share, and we thought the pad thai tasted pretty authentic compared to the ones we had in Bangkok. Service was pretty good at first but guess it got really busy after. We wanted to add another bowl of rice and it took forever to come, and we also had to check in with the waitress a couple times. Definitely a fun place to eat. Easy to make a reservation, and it looked like they could host bigger parties too.

Yelp
3.8/5 stars Came in on a Tuesday night around 7 and it was half full. The smell of fish sauce is strong in the air! Impressed how everything came out so fast. Servers were nice and allowed us to switch tables to watch the game. -FoOoD- Thai sausage: 3 different sausages all taste very different. Weird combination that didn't really blend too well but I guess that's thai cuisine. 3/5 Chicken wings: Nice little finger bite appetizer. Loved how they cuz the wings in half to make it easier to eat or was it a money saving tactic. 3.5/5 Tom yum prawn: Really meaty prawns to go a long with a great coconut soup. Wish there was a little more edible parts in it however. 3.8/5 Stir fried squid with salted egg yolk: Probably my least favorite item. Don't really taste the salted egg and was more of a blend of thai spices in the squid. Good but not what I was hoping for. 3/5 Crispy pork belly fried rice: Must get! Every bite was delicious and I'm surprised the crispy of the skin held that long. 5/5 Pad see ew: It was a little lacking in flavor. With their extensive menu, I'm sure they were more focused on everything else. 3/5 Good for the vibes, definitely feels more like bar food. Nothing special but wouldn't mind coming back.

Yelp
First time trying Saap and honestly thought it was really good. I've tried a lot of Thai places in the city and can say this place has really good flavors across different dishes. I made reservations the night prior for 6 people on a Saturday night. We showed up on time and were set immediately. My friend had gotten there a bit early and got us two lychee alcohol drink that were very tasty. We ordered chicken pad Thai, eggplant basil tofu, samosas and pumpkin tofu curry with two sides of garlic rice and the flavors were immaculate. I feel like the garlic rice elevated everything and provided deeper flavor notes for the food. I will say this place is on the pricier side so I wouldn't come here often; however would come here for special occasions.

Yelp
pretty solid thai place but i think a little overhyped. all the good is good, but mot crazy amazing in my opinion. the curries are probably what i would continue to order from here over everything else - very flavorful!

Yelp
Very inviting interior decor, replicating street food vendors and wall art that's entertaining to look around while dining. Saap wings had flavorful seasoning, wings were super crispy and a good starter to the rest of the meal. Pad Thai was solid, not too sweet as other restaurants. The crispy duck salad a refreshing salad, using the lettuce leaf as cups for the crispy duck pieces. We also ordered iced Thai teas, which just tasted okay. Service is friendly. The food and environment stands out and speaks for itself. Definitely would come back here with a group of friends for dinner again!

Yelp
Great food and service! We ordered a few dishes-the papaya salad, chicken larb, moo yang (grilled pork shoulder), pineapple fried rice, and lard na (noodles with gravy). All the dishes came out relatively quickly and were all exceptional. Portions were generous servings. Parking can be tricky due to street parking. Overall, highly recommend!

Yelp
Ordered their pumpkin curry with tofu and samosas through Doordash and it came packaged well. The food really hit the spot. The samosas were fried to perfection and the pumpkin curry was so creamy with just the right amount of spice. I just wished they added more tofu because the dish was lacking protein. Other than that, everything else was wonderful!

Yelp
My favorite Thai; Laotian restaurant in the City! I'm sold whenever a Thai/Laotian restaurant serves Som Tum Poo Pla Ra!!! So so so good! It's always a pleasant experience whenever I dine here. Yelp
I love this place! The food was amazing I ordered a tom yum noodle soup as well. The service was great I went right when they opened on the weekend and it wasn't busy. Parking could be a bit hard since there's only street parking. The restaurant is super spacious and clean. Definitely recommend this restaurant.

Yelp
Please pay attention to your Take Out orders. I paid $75 (including tip) for Crab Fried Rice, Salted Chicken Wings and Basil Chicken. The herbs severely were lacking on the $28 crab fried rice - no scallions and one single stem of wilted, brown cilantro, The $16 wing pieces were a smaller portion (see photo) than what's served in the restaurant, and were unevenly seasoned, hard, rubbery, and tasted a bit rancid. There was nothing resembling "freshly cooked" about the chicken wings. I've had this meal in person, and was willing to pay the high price because I expected a similar quality for the takeout, but was extremely disappointed. I would have returned both dishes if I were in the restaurant. I feel cheated because I'm home recovering from a surgery and I made a choice to have this particular meal delivered to my home via Postmates. I had to accept bad food while also paying too much for it.

Yelp
We arrived around 7pm on a Wednesday night and still had to wait about 30 minutes. There is plenty of parking and the neighborhood is fairly safe Overall service was intensely on point. Attentive, charming, and receptive. Everything you could ask for. There is a bar with televisions to watch the sports games and the crowd is pretty lively with chatter. The food was great! I love Thai food and it was very authentic! The only thing I would stray away from is the wagyu dish as it was underwhelming. Overall, great experience and I would come again

Yelp
My fav thai spot in SF - it's such a cute neighborhood spot, and has immaculate vibes! The first time I came here drunk after Halloween and food was INSANE, have been coming back ever since haha Fav dishes include the saap wings (they're so small and insanely good), satay (of course no explanation needed), thai shrimp paste fried rice (a must order with a group - it's huge and has so many meats), pumpkin curry tofu (such good flavor and great for all my vegans), spicy green bean tofu, and BBQ chicken (a thai classic) Their drinks go crazy too - the Pin Up girl is served in a mini watermelon, and ofc the fresh coconut juice from a coconut is a must! one of my favs in the city

Yelp
I have been looking around for good Thai spots in the area, and found this one! We ordered the usuals (wings, pad see ew, a duck dish, etc) We thoroughly enjoyed all the dishes as everything tasted amazing. The wings were especially seasoned well and I couldn't get enough of them! The service was also great, our servers were attentive but left us to enjoy the food most of the time. Next time I go, I want to try the watermelon cocktail!

Yelp
Been here a handful of times over the years bc it's so close to Zynga. Came here tonight at around 7:30PM. There was 4 of us. The food was pretty good. although, the basil duck was salty, hard & rubbery. After one bite, I did want not touch it. We decided to come here because there weren't too many restaurants around the neighborhood but I think this will be our last time. The lady who helped us was very friendly and helpful. We asked her accommodating our friend because he has a shellfish allergy. She was very nice about it. THE BAD: there was a really rude waitress who works there. All she did was put our plates down without really giving care about where it went. I asked her for bowls and she ignored me even tho I was 1000000 PERCENT sure she heard me. Then she came back to drop more plates down, and I asked her AGAIN for more serving bowls. She said ok and NEVER CAME BACK! The noodle soup was drying up for like 5 minutes. She knew we were sharing but she chose not to bring any bowls. (She put the noodle soup in the middle of the table btw) Her attitude was seriously so nasty. Especially when you're working for tip too. As a former waitress i was super appalled. They claim they close at 10PM but at 9:30PM they were rushing us out. I would never do this to customers. I mean, they even took customers 30 minutes after we walked in. Would I come back? No

Yelp
Came here on a Saturday night for dinner & was not disappointed! There was no wait for us to sit at the bar. Our server was very nice & the service was pretty quick. We ordered the Spicy Tom Yum Pork Noodle Soup, Red Chili Beef, & Eggplant Basil Tofu. All were super delicious!

Yelp
Update: had to dock a star because this place adds a 5% service fee. I can't stand when restaurants do this. Just make the whole meal include the tip, if you're going to add a service fee. It also annoys me that I have to pay tax on the service fee. Giving this place 5 stars because it's my go to Thai place and one of the only restaurants that I've consistently gone to since moving to sf a year ago. It's way better than farmhouse Thai, imo! The food tastes similar to what I got in Thailand and is a reasonable price. The restaurant is also clean and spacious and always has room for walk-ins! I've honestly liked everything that I've tried here. The only thing is that I love spicy food and the "spicy" here actually low key kills me, so I'd recommend not getting spicy unless you're really a champ!

Yelp
I like some dishes over others. Both crispy basil Duck and crazy seafoods tray (I ordered spicy) are very good. Ground chicken basil is ok. Pork shoulders dish is kinda dry. Pad see ew, crispy rice salad and saap wing are all ok. The service is decent. Ambiance is good (went there on weekend lunch time). I will try other seafood dishes when I go back again next time. I think their dishes are better if you have them make it very spicy.

Yelp
I was craving for real Thai food today. This restaurant's name popped up in my mind and voila, I ordered it like crazy. Always perfect and authentic! I should have ordered crispy pork lol I still give this eatery 5 stars for deliciousness, authenticity, excellent service! You spot a real Thai restaurant by - name, quality of food, and servers always smile a lot. Smiling is in our DNA and trait lol

Yelp
Saap Ver has always been consistently great in bringing Thai flavors to San Francisco. Even on weekdays, the restaurant is super busy; I would highly recommend making reservations via Yelp if possible. We ordered: * Tom Saap Pork Spare Rib Soup - 10/10: fantastic starter to open our appetites, the soup was super delicious * Roasted Duck Curry - 8/10: goes amazing with rice, the curry was creamy and flavorful * Fried Tilapia with Chili Sauce - 8/10: big fish with big flavor

Yelp
My friends and I love to come here to get some good food and drinks! The service is always great, but we do wish the portion size was bigger especially for the price. I highly recommend the naked prawns they are soooo good and we always order them. The Tom yum seafood fried rice is one of my favorites and has amazing flavor. The vibe of this place is great for a chill dinner and we will continue to come here!
