If you're searching for a casual spot that truly delivers on taste and hospitality, look no further than this Mediterranean gem. From the moment you step in, you're met with a welcoming atmosphere and the promise of delicious food – a promise they absolutely fulfill! The falafels here are a true standout. Perfectly crispy on the outside and wonderfully tender and flavorful within, they're a testament to how good simple, well-made ingredients can be. And don't even get me started on the roasted cauliflower! It's clear they've mastered this dish, as it was bursting with incredible flavors, beautifully caramelized and seasoned to perfection. Beyond the fantastic food, the service was truly great. The staff was attentive & friendly. It's definitely a spot worth revisiting!

Lunch at SababaRas was pretty delicious! This spot had been on my radar for a while, so I finally decided to give it a try—and I’m glad I did! To start, parking was a breeze. There’s a garage right next door that offers free 3-hour parking, which took away any parking stress. Major win. Upon arrival, I was warmly greeted at the register. I took a little extra time to decide—everything looked so good! I ended up going with the Deconstructed Plate and chose the shawarma chicken as my protein, with Mediterranean and Majadra rice. I added harissa and tahini sauces, and one of the staff recommended their house hot sauce, which definitely brought the heat! If you know me, you know I can’t resist a house special juice. I went with the Limonia—light, refreshing, and not overly tart. Just the right balance. Final verdict? Flavor-packed, great portion size, and well worth the value. I’ll definitely be back!

Google
My colleagues and I come here every Friday, and it’s easily the highlight of our week. The food is always fresh, flavorful, and consistently delicious. The staff are warm, welcoming, and they’ve truly created a friendly neighborhood vibe that makes each visit a great experience. My personal favorite is the shawarma plate — perfectly seasoned, generous portions, and served with fresh sides that never disappoint.

Quite possibly some of the best Mediterranean food in the area! The owner is amazing and offers exceptional service and quality. The staff is very friendly and it has quickly become a favorite for a quick and delicious lunch. Highly recommend!

Google
I have eaten here several times since this location opened. The service and food have been excellent. I have had the platters mostly, specifically the Lamb, Falafel ball, and Shawarma platters. Today, I had the Lentil soup it was all excellent. I look forward to my next meal there.

They were kind, courteous, and genuinely interested in our satisfaction. The food quality was exceptional and delicious. Overall, this was a fun and delightful place to go for dinner. We will definitely be back.

Yelp
Of Mediterranean food, I'm always meh about it. I've tried places where the food has been good and places where the food is dry or tasteless. So that's where I stand with these types of food. Amazing food! I'm pleasantly surprised by the food quality and service. Our friends say the food and sauces here are really great. And our experience really corroborate this. Our small group sampled some tahini shake (?). I liked the thickness of it, but the group said it was too sweet. The falafel we sampled was really tasty. There was a nice texture and flavor to it. Gyro pita heaven: My pick was interesting. There was the traditional feta cheese, gyro meat, and diced cucumbers. The fries gave it an interesting element. There was a lot of flavors and textures going on. The hubs really seemed to like this pick. This really seemed like a whacky combo of items, but it works. The receipt had a description of gyro flatbread with fries... Haha. Arayes: I really adored the flavor and texture of the hub's pick. My mouth went to an instant wow. I'm more of a simple and classic gal so the tender beef really hit the spot. This Israeli salad was simplistic but tasty and refreshing. And the bonus was that it isn't composed of leafy greens but of small chunks of cucumbers, tomatoes, and bell peppers in oil and lemon juice. I've rarely dined at a place where it's truly Israelian. This was a nice discovery to be able to try something tailored to a specific country versus general region like the Mediterranean.

Yelp
So I was looking for kind of favorite Mediterranean spot but they were closed. So I did a search for what's close and I ended up finding this. I'm from Detroit so I'm very skeptical on Mediterranean food since Detroit has a very big Mediterranean population. But the ratings were pretty decent so I said it was worth a try!. They have a really good menu, plenty of options, so it's probably okay. So this is actually in the building of an apartment complex. It's really nice too, they have indoor and outdoor seating. The outdoor seating has umbrellas so if it's sunny or something along those lines you can actually go ahead and be covered from too much sun. They have free street parking and they also have parking in a structure. But just to remind you that it's an apartment complex so I can't be sure that's free all day. I walked in and the guy who was there was super cool. He was new so he was trying to fumble his way through the POS system. But that's fine, no big deal. He and I talked, and I understood. Sometimes learning those things could be tough. But he really assured me when he explained the menu. When I asked for details. He even asked me if I wanted extra saucer whatever the case may be from my order and I appreciate it that, because I didn't have to ask him for it. Everything here is pretty well priced and decently affordable. It's in a very walkable area so the last time it went I actually walked around the neighborhood into the food got done. Here's a couple of spots and restaurants. You can walk to a grab, a drink or something like that. A beef kabob pita - The beef was really good. It was stuffed to the brim and it was very tender and juicy. Chicken shawarma - The chicken shawarma was okay. It was more of a sandwich than a wrap but that was fine. It was very stuffed and one of them was actually really heavy, had a lot of heft to it. So it was super filling. I had a good flavor, although it needed a little extra so I used some hummus just to balance it out. Hummus - I thought that the hummus was good. It felt like it was made somewhat fresh and you can still see the oil on it so I know it wasn't coming straight from Kroger. It came with pita bread so you can use the pita to dip. Shawarma fries - The fries were okay. I probably would not get them again though. They weren't bad but they were soft and a little bit soggy because of everything that was on them. I like my french fries to have a little bit of crunch or some firmness to them, but these didn't hold up. It's pretty close and it's open 7 days a week so this may be a go-to for me in the future.

Yelp
It's a fairly casual spot, which is what I needed with a very energetic 6 month old in tow. They had ample high chairs at the ready as well, which is great as zi got some hands free time until.je decided he was over it. I was also craving something fresh and healthy. I got their chicken shwarma plate, blended mint and lemonade drink, baklava, and this vegan custard with a rose syrup. Foe the shwarma plate, the chicken was tender but could have used a bit more spices to amp up the flavor, the pita was super fluffy, the cucumber tomato mix was fresh, and the hummus creamy without being to tangy. I wish there had been some type of pickled component that other spots have, and also that they had harissa as they only had harissa ketchup and harissa mayo. The lemon drink was refreshing and not too sweet, and it didn't taste like instant lemon mix powder or citric acid, thank goodness. Backlava was moist and in the rolled form, not the sheet pan version. The vegan custard was ok. The custard was very coconut forward, which is not my favorite. Maybe some pistachio paste and cardamom could have toned that down in the recipe. The syrup had a weak rose taste, but I liked the almonds on top. Overall a good spot to get a healthier meal option, but a couple of changes could really make them special.

Yelp
Sabaraba's is outstanding!!! Some coworkers and I came here for lunch to try somewhere new, not really expecting too much, and we were blown away with how delicious it was! The staff was incredibly friendly, there were so many options on the menu to pick from (it was hard to chose just one thing), the prices were very reasonable, and the meal was big enough to split into two. Our food came out pretty quick and we all devoured it. We'll definitely be going back!

Yelp
My husband and I had dinner here on Friday, 7/19/2024. We ordered at the counter and they brought the food to our table. The employees were all very friendly and nice! Free parking in the attached garage. Casual environment inside, with more seating outside. They have high chairs! We got the 2-Person Family Dinner ($32) with Shawarma and Lamb Kebab (+$2) as our proteins. It came with plenty of food: hummus, rice, Israeli salad, pita, and we chose baklava for our dessert. Everything was very good! Good food that is reasonably priced. We'll be back!

Yelp
I had been meaning to try this place since it opened, since it's close to where I live. I had a chicken schwarma (spicy) and a black cherry soda. It was good. I've had better but not in Atlanta (the closest I got was at Tiptop Kosher). I'd call this a solid neighborhood option, not a destination. The price was okay, something like $13 for the food and beverage. They did have free ice water, but I figured if I was having something spicy - not knowing how spicy it was - a bit of sugar would be helpful. I don't think I broke a sweat, though there was a semi-hot pickled pepper in the sandwich, along with tahini and some other fixings. The interior was clearly designed for a chain. I don't have any complaints, I just wouldn't be an evangelist for the place.

Yelp
I enjoyed my visit here. The staff was super friendly and helpful. I ordered the gyro (yee roo) and I saw the kitchen staff shave the meat off the metal rod, that rotisserie's the meat. It was tasty. It was difficult to find for my friend. Also, parking is a bit confusing. The 1st 2 floors of the garage are for retail parking but you still need to register, per the wall signs. I could not get the scanner on the sign to open the qr code to register so went in to order without registering. Do you register one time? All the time? Do they tow? I don't know, but wanted to make you aware. Free water inside but the dining area is not very large.

Yelp
Been eyeing this spot since construction and have been visiting since soft opening a week ago. It just had its grand opening this week and it has been one of our go to spots for a quick and delicious meal. I first saw SaBaRaBa in Sandy Springs, what looks like a food truck but is a yellow shipping container store front, and now they opened its second location in Chamblee under Lumen. The word SaBaRaBa means Grandpa in Hebrew and the cuisine is Israeli. We tried half of the proteins including the beef sausage, lamb sausage, shawarma, falafel, and gyro. We weren't a huge fan of the sausages but love love the gryo and falafel. Most of the dishes are more on the fresh/clean palate with a hint of flavor. Falafel texture and flavor is just delectable and gyro is so flavorful without being overbearing especially since I don't eat lamb but I don't smell or taste it much at all. Gyro is combination of beef and lamb here. Sauce wise, they have the white tzatziki, tahini, harissa sauce, and harissaayo. Just like the proteins, they're more on the bland side but my favorite is the harissa Ketchup as it combines a small amt of heat to classic ketchup flavor. Our favorite at the moment is the family meal for 2 as it allows you to pick 2 proteins and they give you rice, flat bread, and dessert along with it. Would definitely recommend in checking this spot out.

Yelp
Truly a lovely spot to have lunch. They are very earnest and ent to ensure you have a great experience. We did. We tried many things but missed some of the important things like falafel. Must go back. Give it a try. Especially if you are in the neighborhood

Yelp
Great place for some Mediterranean food! The Harissa Bowl with Lamb as the protein was so good. I wish there was maybe something to go with it since it was a lot of rice and then just lamb. Maybe a tomato and cucumber salad? The Limonada drink was so good! I could have had 10 of them. Everyone was so friendly to us here. It's just an order and they'll bring it to your table place. Very laid back.

Yelp
Delicious, good portions and very reasonable price. The staff was friendly and knew the menu and had good recommendations for us. Loved it I'll be back!

Patric G.

Yelp
Ordered to go. I waited about 15 minutes and had a tahini milkshake while I did so. GET THE TAHINI MILKSHAKE! I had the schnitzel with hummus and Israeli salad. I mixed the hot sauce (schug) into the Israeli salad. Tens, tens, tens across the board! My husband had the beef kebab laffa with a side of roasted cauliflower. He loved it. I'm so stoked to have this place close to me and can't wait to try everything on the menu. Note: they close at 8, so keep that in mind.

Marianne L.

Yelp
Food is fresh and very well seasoned. Best of all was the friendly service. Staff was attentive and kind! I will absolutely be coming back.

Alicia P.

Yelp
The food was a truly delicious surprise. I loved the lentil soup which tasted like my family's old world recipe. All the dishes were well seasoned, fresh, and delicious. The owner and the staff were charming, cordial and more than attentive to our needs. The service was promp and the food was brought hot to the table. I relished every bite of the lamb kabob with eggplant, rice, and Israeli salad. Their decor was modern, practical, and utilitarian. After dining at Sabaraba's, I intend to try EVERY platter on their menu, it was a delightful experience!
google avatar

Taylor C.

Yelp
Love the new location! Staff was incredibly friendly and make great recommendations for us. The Tahini shake and Limonana drink were both very good. The chicken schnitzel deconstructed plate was another favorite of mine. Everything came out fast, fresh and delicious. Loving this location and looking forward to coming back!
google avatar

Hassan M.

Yelp
Terrible service. Rude staff and nasty management. The food is not authentic and the menu is trying to appropriate a middle eastern cuisine into so called "Israeli food" Don't waste your money here
google avatar

James N.

Yelp
This was my second time eating at Sabaraba's, and wanted to share the love because this place is great. The employees and owner are great people. Very friendly and helpful with the menu. The first time I dined in, very clean and comfortable inside. This time took food to go. The gyro wrap is excellent. Great quality gyro meet and fresh bread. My wife had the lamb plate, equally delicious. Do yourself a favor though and just get one of every sauce they have. The harissa ketchup and harissa mayo are great with the fries.
google avatar

Tanisha C.

Yelp
Food was fresh. It lacked flavor. Very bland. Service was kind and friendly. Chicken Shawama plate and Babagounish.
google avatar

Pam M.

Yelp
The best falafel! Fresh with great tahini sauce and veg. E also loved the seasoned cauliflower and Israeli salad. We've been twice and C will come again. I could eat this every week.
google avatar

Robby C.

Yelp
Stopped by for lunch, I had the falafel plate which was $12.00. It was good, loved the falafel. Perfect hot summer day lunch, refreshing and a bargain for the price.

Karin S.

Yelp
Tried it for the first time tonight. We had a falafel plate, lamb pita, and a tahini shake. Food was exceptional, service was extremely friendly and helpful, price was right and parking was easy. And they serve wine, beer and Prosecco! We will definitely be back.

Adam S.

Yelp
Food always fresh and delicious service is always friendly and fast definitely a staple in the lunch rotation in the area
google avatar

Greer W.

Yelp
The food was fresh and delicious. I just wish there was a way to a combo with a sandwhich and a side.
google avatar

Ken M.

Yelp
Second time there and they hit all the notes! Quality, flavor, value and service. Got the chicken Shawarma plate and they were kind enough to allow me to swap babaganoush instead of hummus.
google avatar

Yury S.

Yelp
This place was fantastic! The food was fresh and cooked to perfection. Probably the best falafel I have ever tries. The staff and the owner were just awesome! We will definitely be back soon! This is a new gem on the block...

Ward H.

Yelp
Fantastic. Had the falafel plate. The bread was fresh and warm. Substituted tabouleh for the salad. Served with hummus & tahini.
google avatar

Steve T.

Yelp
Awesome chicken shawarma, falafel, and lamb kebabs. Also, excellent was the hummus and Israeli salad. Great service also. Highly recommend!

Ross W.

Yelp
Love the food here. They make it fresh to order each time with incredible ingredients. I recommend the grilled chicken laffa or pita. The staff is so kind and welcoming. The restaurant is incredibly clean and service is awesome.

Suzanne M.

Yelp
This new restaurant is a gem. Great food (falafel, chicken, babaganoush, tabouli), nice staff

Kevin J.

Yelp
The food and service was outstanding, and the restaurant was extremely clean. You can tell they really care, I'm 100% coming back. We also had the gyro with a side of harissa and it was hands down one of the best I've ever had.

Aric R.

Yelp
Great food! Great quality I would highly recommend to anyone looking for great middle eastern food

Melissa H.

Yelp
I've ordered take out from the Chamblee location a few times and have not been disappointed. The food is delicious and fresh. Staff is friendly and helpful. Prices are reasonable for the generous portions. It's my go to for a healthy option when I don't feel like cooking.

Michael B.

Yelp
A new restaurant that is very clean and cute with indoor and outdoor seating. The service was very quick and friendly. The chicken shawarma laffa and baba ganouish was good. Maybe not quite great, but good enough to go back.

Celia C.

Yelp
Great casual dining in Chamblee! This place has something for everyone. The vegans are happy, the meat eaters are happy, and the food is fresh and delicious. The falafel is some of the best you are going to find in Atlanta. And they have a great beer selection including Gold Star! Support this friendly local family-owned establishments.

Courtney H.

Yelp
In downtown Chamblee, ordered takeout and food was good! Reasonably priced and nice staff.

Michelle M.

Yelp
Joining the raving crowd. The new Chamblee restaurant was wonderful fast casual. The falafel was among the best that I've had in a long time and really like the lime/mint drink and baba ganoush. The staff is so accommodating . The only problem we had was going down American way and trying to find it. Didn't realize it was closer to the Peachtree end than to Peachtree industrial

Jose D.

Yelp
food was so delicious and people so kind, really good, everything looks clean, definitely we will back soon
