From the Baleadas, Pupusas, and Tacos Catrachos; you can't go wrong with anything on the menu. We love it, our kids love it. Seating is limited, but you are able to call in for a to-go order.

Timothy Ichich

Google
Very excellent, the food is very delicious, I recommend visiting it, the food is very delicious.

Alexis Martinez

Google
I am Mexican and I certify them, I got the chuleta con tajadas out of this world. Their Pollo is also bomb af don't forget to try a Banana Soda straight from Honduras

Hans Huether

Google
Just the mood for something different & was in the neighborhood. Quick service, really good food, really good Kool-Aid kind of a mediocre price for sitting outside. Three floutas with coleslaw on top.

Alina

Google
The service, portions and price is excellent. There was a hint of familiarity yet a different experience with how the baleada and meat tasted with the white cream. Not a lot of healthy options and really overcooked dry meat . The quality was poor but the presentation was nice

Google
the food here is delicious and very well seasoned. portions were almost to much for me which is a great problem to have. i'm not a fan of cabbage but without it this dish wouldn't be the same. every ingredient works together to take your taste buds on a well deserved journey. pick any dish on the menu and you won't be disappointed. if you've had Salvadorian food before your going to love this food truck. it's a small truck located just off pleasant valley. when you walk up your greeted with signs that indicate no mask no service, a menu and a bell. once you have decided ring the bell to place your order then pay after it's prepared. if your visiting Austin make sure you plan on eating at Sabor a Honduras, peace.

Google
The food was soooooo amazing! My family and I just could not stop eating, no matter how full we felt. We got almost half their dishes and we fell in love with them all. The plates were so big, but I loved eating their food. Apart from the food itself, the service is unparalleled. The music was great, and the atmosphere even better. The owners of the food truck were personable and native Hondurans. They treated us like family; even going so far as to give us an extra plate of food that they thought we would like. With an adorable atmosphere, nice outdoor seating, a personable staff, and astonishing meals, this place is worth the small bill and makes you want to come back every single night. In fact, I just might!

Google
Food was excellent! I took an Hondureña with me who vouched for the food. It's legit.

Yelp
This has to be a joke? I'm just going to pretend $20 fell out of my purse because that's basically what happened. Ordered carne asada and a pupusa thinking she said it was $10 and $4, gave her a $20. She didn't give me any change. Thought I'd get the change when the food was ready. Nope! It was $16 & $4 . Ugh. Better be good! Nope! The carne asada should be called carne seca - it was old, dried and chewy. Cooked yesterday or the day before. The plate was mostly bananas - entire meal completely inedible. I ordered a pupusa of queso and it had chicharrón in it. I cannot eat chicharrón. They don't have prices on the menu for a reason folks. It's called charging what they feel on the spot. Gross. Threw it in the garbage. Like I said, I'm just pretending I lost $20 because that's essentially what happened.

Yelp
As a high school student my Spanish teacher berated me in front of the class for bungling the pronunciation of the Honduran capital of Tegucigalpa, so I was a bit intimidated to venture in to the country of Honduras a second time. Fortunately for me, Sabor a Honduras was ready to turn that around. The employees were very nice and accommodating as my friend and I put in our orders, and were happy to give us guidance as we took the plunge in to Honduran food. While the dishes were definitely more expensive than I would have expected (hovering around $15) they were plentiful, and genuinely really tasty. My friend got the pollo catrachos and I got the tacos catrachos, and both were great. Overall I really enjoyed the experience. I think to-go might be a bit of a better plan than eating in (we did, and I can't say I'd recommend it) but overall it was a really solid experience.

Yelp
Yummy and affordable. I've been visiting both in person and order delivery. Love it! The cheese Pupusas and Platano Sencillo is pretty much my go to but they are always busy. Very friendly also.

Yelp
I went here an a whim... trying cuisine I haven't had before. Got the Pollo Catrachos (fried, bone-in chicken with plantains, cabbage, creamy sauce, and pickled onions and root vegetables). It was a very generous portion (leg quarter plus additional drumstick). It was tasty, crunchy, seasoned well, not greasy and cooked thoroughly... some of the best fried chicken I've had. I appreciate that there was no sign of blood near the middle or by the bones!! That typically ruins it for me immediately. Overall, it was good food. The price was very high ($16.89 cc price), although I don't mind paying more for good food. I would like to say I would go back, but I just can't get past that this food truck is parked next to dumpsters... not immediately next to them, but close enough. At least it doesn't back directly up to dumpsters like one place I went to. Nevertheless, I just can't stomach knowing my food is being cooked near such an eye and nose sore!! Not pleasant thoughts smelling the air while your food is getting cooked. I'm not sure how anyone sits outside the food trailer and eats with that smell lingering. I almost didn't go through with my purchase because of this, but at least the food was very tasty.

Yelp
Quaint little food truck featuring authentic Honduran food- locals frequent. The prices are more akin to Austin prices compared to the rest of Texas. My Pork Chop was DRENCHED in mayo. If I were to return, I'd ask for "no mayonnaise please" (or at least have it on the side). Often, this little truck is closed, but when open, it gets very busy and take time to get your food order prepared.

Yelp
I recently tried Honduran food for the first time and really enjoyed it! It's very interesting to see the overlap between different foods between the various Hispanic countries where often times the differences lay in one critical change. I'll go into what I got and how it differs to it's Mexican counterparts: - The Pastelito. This is similar to an Empanada, except the breading is thinner and it's fried; making the texture more crunchy to chew. This one was stuffed with ground beef, potatoes, and their variation of the side salad which has pico, cheese, and a Honduran sweet cream which is their variation of sour cream, but it's lighter, thinner, and sweeter. - The Pupusa. This is similar to a gordita, except the corn flour pouch is stuffed with filling before cooking whereas a gordita is stuffed afterwards. This one was stuffed with cheese and chicharron aka fried pork rinds. - The Platano Con Carne. This dish consists of fried sweet plantains, ground beef, refried beans with cheese, and Honduran sweet cream. All in all, I enjoyed everything I got. If I had to pick a favorite, it would probably be that last plate. I am a BIG fan of fried sweet plantain and mixing that with the savory meaty flavor of the beef and the light sweet flavor of the Honduran sweet cream makes for an explosion of flavors in your mouth. With that being said, it is a hole in the wall. The service can be a bit off-putting if you're not familiar with the cultures, but I say this: if it is a bit slower or not as personalized - it's not personal. In fact, that's how you KNOW it's authentic! At the end of the day, they offer delicious food at an affordable price and that's why I rate them 5/5.

Yelp
Some of the best food I have had in Austin. El pollo estaba perfecto. Muchas Gracias!!

Yelp
This food truck was the bomb! Super reasonably priced and HUGE portions . The plantains were delicious even thoughI usually don't care much for them at all. The wait time was about 10-15 minutes but everything was made on the spot which was awesome . The staff was friendly and next time I'm in Austin I will def be stopping by here again.

Yelp
Really great Baledas and the lady's working here are always very friendly to me and help me practice my Spanish!
google avatar

Daniel J.

Yelp
This place may not look the most inviting as it's kind of nestled in the darkness behind decommissioned gas pumps, but it's a real gem. Give. This. Place. A. Try. Holyyy s*** the food was delicious. The ladies working there are super friendly too and, from my experience, the customers waiting for their food are also super friendly. Every time I've gone it's just been a pleasant experience.

Yelp
We came here with friends, one who is Honduran and it was his first time trying this truck as well. He helped guide us on what to order and we got a great selection of what they have to offer. He can speak to their authenticity much more than I can (though I have had homemade Baleadas before) and he said they were on point. We had their Pollo Con Tajadas, Tacos Catrachos, Baleada Especial, Platano Con Carne, and their 0% juice banana soda. My favorites were the Pollo Con Tajadas which is pretty much fried chicken with plantain chips, lightly pickled cabbage and a cream sauce and their Tacos Catrachos which are basically two deep fried tacos (how could that be bad right?!), very similar to falutas. I also got some Honduran hot sauce on the side which, to me tasted similar to Louisiana hot sauce, no complaints there. I will say that I'm glad I did not get a bottle of the banana soda for myself and that it was shared. I couldn't do more than a sip. It tasted like the love child of Bazooka Joe bubble gum and banana artificial flavoring. Definitely an acquired taste or a nostalgic one for OG Hondurans. The service was good, the food was plentiful, flavorful, and very filling. It's really a great bang for your buck and definitely worth checking out.

Yelp
Gotta say, of all the restaurants I've eaten at in Austin, this place by far tastes the most homemade. I'm not Honduran by any means but this is food I feel like a mom would make - a lotta love, a lot of passion and a lot of flavor. Pollo con tajadas is AMAZING. Extra crispy, juicy, flavorful fried chicken at its best. Well seasoned and bursting with awesomeness. Reminds me texturally a bit like those fried chicken wings at chinese buffets - that level of crisp. With that comes a mountain of fried plantains and slaw with some pickled onions. It's A LOT of food. Tacos Catrachos are effectively two super large flautas stuffed with seasoned chicken and deep fried to perfection. Also comes with a lot of slaw as well. Few minor critiques: One thing I wish they would do is serve the components separately instead of plating all together. The best part about the chicken, tacos, and the plantains is they're all fried and meant to be crisp. The slaw softens the fried goodness and detracts from the textural contrast. still really good though. English is a bit hard to come by, so you can attempt a half hearted shot at spanish to order. Thankfully the good items are pretty easy to phonetically give a go. And ya, as others mentioned, even in the middle of the day, you don't feel safe being in the area, much less at night. So if you want the food here, I suggest calling ahead and grab and go. Other things that look interesting and if we were hungrier would have definitely tried at $2 a pop: papusas and baleadas....just seeing them handmake it is enough to make my mouth water and my wallet happy.
google avatar

Blake W.

Yelp
The main thing to get here is the Baleada Especial. You won't regret it! Plan to order well in advance though, as I've waited as long as 30 minutes to get my food.
google avatar

Ashley A.

Yelp
Incredible food for great prices! Austin has such a great food scene around the downtown area, but don't neglect the spots a little further out! We got the pupusa, enchilada, pastelito, and the carne molida. Honestly, everything was very delicious, it did not disappoint! I enjoyed the slaw that came with the meal as it provided a nice balance of flavor and leveled out the rich flavor of the meat. I would definitely go back!
google avatar

Corian N.

Yelp
Great food made on the spot and the prices are insane for the quality and quantity of food you're getting. The plantains with just the crema and queso and beans on the side, and one pupusa was more than enough to fill me up, and for under 6$ you can't even argue with that. Advice - Call ahead, this stuff is made to order and both of my trips I was waiting about 15 minutes for my food to be ready. On the positive side of this, the food is also rocket hot when you get it. Even driving all the way back to my hotel it was still burning my fingers minutes later. I think the fact that I was in Austin for 3 days and visited this place twice says a lot about it, especially with all the food choices you guys have down here. Definitely give them a try if you're in the area, I don't think you'll be disappointed.
google avatar

Celeny B.

Yelp
The platanos and pupusas are a bit dry, but I still loved my meal! Good stuff. I got the breakfast and a pupusa and it was definitely filling. There's a short wait, but it was no problem for me. I don't mind that they have to spend a little longer actually cooking the food. I waited about 15-20 minutes.
google avatar

Yelp
Their baleadas are the best, very home made and authentic, the lady isn't the nicest but i give it tp her for her food. It is delicious, it hits home, the location isn't the best, it is next to a dumpster but the food is delicious. I am hispanic so usually the sketchiest places are the best, you know it is the best when they answer their phone in spanish. I was happy and it hit home. You go there for the food not because it's a cute place. But if you want real honduras baleadas. Gracias por la comida!!! Comida de los pobres mi encanta.

Yelp
I saw a video of this place on Facebook, it looked like the food was amazing specially how the guy expressed himself about the food. We drove all the way from Houston because I was excited to try the food since in Houston I haven't found a good place to eat Hondurian food. I lived in Honduras for eight years so I know how this food is supposed to taste. I was excited because the food smelled so good but sadly it tasted like crap. The pollo con tajadas was so nasty it taste plain and didn't have flavor. We also tried the tacos catrachos and honestly they tasted like nasty Mexican tacos. I am half Mexican and I know how good Mexican tacos taste and this is so sad because how do you get Hondurian tacos to taste like Mexican tacos? Like the nasty ones. If I could give this place less than one star I would. Please guys if you want to try good Hondurian food don't start here! Make sure you start looking some where else first. If this is the last place on earth that serves food then yes choose this but just try to stay away from here. The area is really bad too! The lady was a little bit rude, she started acting nice to me until I told her we were coming from Houston. I have never in my life done something like this because I don't like to talk bad about anyone's business but I was really disappointed. I think they need to take their time making the food and maybe make some changes to the ingredients they put into it.
google avatar

Michelle B.

Yelp
Introduced my husband to Honduran food here- it's good! The baleadas are a great bang for your buck and tasty. Pollo con tajadas are delicious and enormous. I've tried almost all the menu items at this point (except the drinks) and haven't been disappointed by any of them. The last time I was there, they even served D'Olancho hot sauce with our meal. Wait varies based on their phone in orders and what menu item you select, but I've never had to sit for too long. They don't expect you to pay until you receive your food and are always thrown off when I pay upon ordering (though they don't mind it seems). I think this place gets good business bc there are always people hanging out. Hope to see them succeed long term!
google avatar

Nick M.

Yelp
The food is excellent. But holy shit is this trailer ever inefficient. I literally waited 50 minutes for my order (2 entrees and a pupusa) to be ready. Better call ahead until they figure their shit out, which may not ever happen cause they've been here a few years at this point.
google avatar

Liliana L.

Yelp
The food is good. However, the service is pretty bad. If you pay with cash, prepare to not receive change. We ordered 5 pupusas and waited for 25 minutes until we asked if they were almost done. They hadn't even started on our order and had given food to all the other customers, even the ones that arrived after us. They lied and said they were on the stove already, when they weren't. Overall, Delmy's pupuseria nearby is a way better choice!
google avatar

Alicia G.

Yelp
Best Honduran food I've even had! The owners are very nice people. Every time we go to Austin we definitely have to stop. We had the tacos catrachos.
google avatar

Janrai G.

Yelp
Finally gave this place a try and the price and quantity is on point after a long day at the office! It may take a minute so either go when there aren't too many people or order ahead.. wait wasn't too bad I just hope the surrounding area improves some now that Oracle is opening soon.
google avatar

Aalia U.

Yelp
Oh. My. God. I missed Baleadas so much as I have just moved back to Austin from Utila, Honduras. Cons: -not the most sanitary looking place -definitely wouldn't recommend going at night alone as a female...kind of sketchy vibes and area Pros: -CHEAP -DELICIOUS Need I say more? Get the tostadas, plantanas, and the BALEADAS! These tortillas are the bomb...melt in your mouth omg I am drooling.

Abigail Z.

Yelp
Absolutely hands down one of the best Honduran food places I've had in a while (my family and me are from Honduras). Their baleadas were low key better than my mom's and she somewhat admitted it. They give large amounts of food so prepare to get very very full especially if you order the tajadas con pollo.
google avatar

Addis C.

Yelp
This is the best authentic Honduran food in Austin. The tortillas taste like pancakes and everything is made fresh (so expect to wait 10-15 mins). This place is always busy, so it might be best to call ahead and order. I personally recommend the Honduran enchiladas, baleadas, pupusas, and platanos! Taste like my mom's cooking!
google avatar

Eric B.

Yelp
Real Honduran food...takes me back to Teguc. at the 1st bite of my balleada. Platanos were great, too. Everything is in Spanish, so if you somehow live in TX and speak none, better figure it out. We'll be back for more.
google avatar

Michael R.

Yelp
Food: amazing! Plantains ftw Price: the meal I had was the Desayuno something and it was $7 Environment: table i was at was a bit sticky and its pretty sketchy but not dangerous. Service: friendly and relatively quick My only complaint is that the drinks were $3. I usually get a free water but there's a convenience store basically attached to the food truck and I just went in there for the drink.
google avatar

Sandeep G.

Yelp
Although this trailer has been around for more than three years, totally missed it the ffew times I've been to this lot. Perhaps I was distracted by the tacos at Ley's nearby, but this Honduran(!) trailer should not be overlooked. While there are several Honduran restaurants in town, this is the only trailer I'm aware of. Since our original plan was to get some goat tacos at La Movida bar in the same lot, we decided to just taste a $2 baleada. What the heck is a baleada you ask? It's like a quesadilla, filled with bean paste and crema, no queso. It's simple, yet delicious, and is elevated into grandma-cooking territory by the handmade flour tortilla that's stretched and cooked to order. The tortillas are thick, soft as a pillow and rather divine. If only my own bed was as comfortable as the baleada. After having something so surprisingly ethereal, how could we possibly pass up on ordering a pupusa as well? The chicharrón pupusa actually has pulled pork and the full flavor you only get from a long-cooked pig. It is an exceptional pupusa, and is complemented by a heap of pickled-pink cabbage, if you ask nicely. The owner is incredibly friendly and eager to describe her offerings in detail, in perfect English. She's already sold me on the tacos catrachos for next time.
google avatar

Liz B.

Yelp
After hearing about this place from a friend and reading a number of great Yelp reviews, I decided to check it out. We went on a Sunday evening and it was pretty crowded. Ordered and waiting for about 15-20 minutes, not a big deal. We ordered the Pollo con Tejadas and Carne Asada. The best word I can use to collectively describe the food was "Meh." The fried chicken was greasy and for $9, I expected to at least get a piece of white meat (chicken breast), but instead, the chicken was all dark meat, mostly wing and maybe some thigh, I believe, so lots of bone but little actual meat. The cabbage/plantain mixture was pretty good but the plantains were completely covered and located at the bottom of the container. They would have been great if they were more crispy, but instead they were fairly soggy. Yes, we ordered to go, but we only live 5 minutes away so I don't feel like that was the issue. The Carne Asada was ok, the meat was not fatty at least, but it still had the same soggy plantain mixture underneath. After eating, we had a lot of the plantain/cabbage mixture left but didn't even bother to keep it for lunch the next day because we anticipated it would just get soggier. Perhaps their other dishes are good, but I won't be ordering this again.
google avatar

Cait C.

Yelp
So much food, and always at a great price. It usually takes a bit, but it's fresh and worth the wait. I usually get papusas or baleada especial. I need to come back and try the picadillo
google avatar

Vincent C.

Yelp
Pretty good food! My wife says the fried tacos are even better than what she's tried in Honduras!
google avatar

Richard M.

Yelp
All the food is delicious. The pollo con tajadas s the best of the best. Carne Molina con tajadas is a family favorite also. The baleadas big and tasty too. Despite the location, this food truck is worth the visit.
google avatar

Andrew M.

Yelp
Place is good and cheap. The crema tastes home made. The pollo tajada was delicious but the papusas were dry. My second favorite Honduran spot in Austin.

Tina T.

Yelp
Not the "safest" location, but the staff was very sweet and the food was delicious. We ordered 4 pupusas and 2 banana sodas. The pickled cabbage totally made the dish complete!
google avatar

Lauren B.

Yelp
Talk about diamond in the rough- this no frills food truck behind the scary riverside HEB is totally worth getting mugged for. The desayuno meal and the pupusa is incredible and super cheap! The desayuno meal is scrambled eggs, avocado slices, refried black beans, this weird white sauce, a baked plantain and a tortilla. The pupusa was like a tortilla pita with some kid of sweet meat or bean filling- there's nothing that I could compare it to really, but it was incredible! I could eat those plantains and pupusas for the rest of my damn life. They do to-go orders so call ahead so you don't have to wait! It's located right next to some sketchy convenient store with bars on the windows. The food is worth the risk of getting mugged so just go! I will be back!!
google avatar

Grace A.

Yelp
Being that I just moved to Austin and I am Honduran-American I was looking for a taste of home. This place is awesome. I tried their pupusas and pastelitos which are my favorite and what can I say! It felt like it was my mom cooking it. Big portions for cheap prices. I only spent $4 on both things. The lady was very nice and the food was fresh and hot! My place to go when I'm feeling homesick. Just don't pay any attention to how sketchy the location is. I just get my food to go.

Jennifer M.

Yelp
Finally made it! Brought back childhood memories. Traveled 1 hr 25 mins just to eat authentic Honduran food.
google avatar

Ashley M.

Yelp
Authentic and DELISH. The platanos fritos are awesome and the cream pairs really well with it
google avatar

Yehya B.

Yelp
Not very clean place. The tortillas taste like cheap HEB stuff and I am sure my body hates me for eating this lol. So yeah I kinda regret buying food from there. Regardless, I hope for the sake of other people, they keep it more sanitary.
google avatar

Alexandra J.

Yelp
I have lived in Honduras for a long time and Sabor a Honduras definitely gets it out of the park. My only concern is that they sauce everything too much; even when it's a to-go order meaning that the food ends up being soggy.
google avatar

Robert G.

Yelp
Don't miss out! It place is a must stop for me each time I return to Austin. My go-to dish is their Baleadas (I get them 'sencilla' or without the avocado, egg, and cream) which is just a bean and cheese flour tortilla for $2. They will make it when you order, so pretty cool to have them pat out a tortilla while you wait. Definitely good food. Also, very nice young lady that has been there every time I've been is worth mentioning. She's super sweet and will tell you as much about the food etc as you want to hear.
google avatar

Derek F.

Yelp
Freshly made Pastelios were worth the wait ...brush up on your spanish for orders.

C O.

Yelp
We checked this place out over the other Honduran food truck nearby specifically because of another yelp review claiming food poison. Although we did not get sick with our food, we got a completely empty baleada! No beans, cheese, mantequilla-nada! You can't do that and get a good yelp review. If you're staying there to eat you shouldn't have that problem, but if ordering to go check the inside of your baleadas before you leave. They roll them up like a taco too, which doesn't help when checking.
google avatar

Jessica D.

Yelp
This food truck has the best pupusas I have ever tried! I had the chicharon con queso and they were so good. Even though they were super hot I literally inhaled them. The cabbage that is served on the side seemed weird to me at first because of its hot pink color but it was actually the star of the show. These pupusas would not have been the same without it.
google avatar

Brenda E.

Yelp
Recently discovered this gem. Yummy pupusas and platanos! would make it a daily routine to go if i could.

John T.

Yelp
Great food. We got the desayuno, a couple of pupusas, baleadas especial, and the tacos catrachos. As a big fan of pupusas, these definitely stood up. The owner was chopping up fresh vegetables when I arrived so it made me feel a lot better. It's in the parking lot of a convenience store, so not the best location, but they did have covered seating which was a major plus with the sun out. We bought a topo Chico and Mexican Coke from said convenience store. We definitely plan on going back.
google avatar

Cameron C.

Yelp
Had a baleada and papusa. Amazing! Favorite taco I've ever had. So cheap. Stop debating and go try it!

Patrick M.

Yelp
To start with, I'm creating the posting for this Honduran food trailer I found the other day. It's located at the corner of Elmont and Pleasant Valley on the East side. It's a little trailer eatery decked out in the Honduran colors of blue and white. It shares a parking lot with a gas station. randomly found 'Sabor de Honduras' the other day when riding my bike. The food was delicious and made by hand in front of your eyes. It's a no frills place and the eating arrangement is composed of crappy plastic chairs and tables...oh yeah, there's one wooden picnic table that resembles the Honduran flag. There's a young woman named Jessica that works there and is very helpful. She noticed that I was not 'from round those parts' and promptly offered her help in interpreting (and appreciating) her food. She's very forthcoming with recommendations and general advice on Honduran culture. We tried the 'baleadas' as well as the flautas and had a Honduran soda pop and horchata. The food was simple but packed lots of flavor. The baleada is a staple Honduran dish and can be enjoyed at any hour of the day. So, my advice.....TRY THIS PLACE NOW before it moves to a new parking lot. Price wise, not as cheap as one would imagine for a trailer (not a hip one with 'hip' prices). I think we paid around $15 for two plates and two drinks. Next time I go - which will be soon - I'll try the chicken as Jessica advised us to.

I've tried several things but what keeps bringing me back for more are the $2 baleadas sencillas! Simple ingredients with complex flavors. It's a larger than average home made flour tortilla, beans, semi-sweet cream that's perfectly balanced out with a salty cheese. Mmmm
