Understated restaurant offering a seafood-heavy menu of Peruvian fare from morning until late.
"Sabor a Peru’s extensive menu includes a stellar ceviche option made with mussels topped with lime, rococo (Peruvian pepper), and celery for an extra kick of flavor. The individual portion is served with a slice of lettuce, sweet potato, Peruvian corn, and a touch of red onion." - Juliana Accioly
"Edgewater’s Sabor a Perú is a great Peruvian spot that usually has a small group of people on the sidewalk waiting for a table. Sign your name on the sheet of paper by the door and join them because the crispy jalea, chaufa de pollo, and cheesy potatoes are worth the wait. This place is an Edgewater classic and a nice affordable option that won't require a reservation. Their huge lomo saltado is also a good choice if you’re very, very hungry." - mariana trabanino, ryan pfeffer, virginia otazo
"There’s almost always a small crowd of people waiting outside this casual spot, which serves simple, classic Peruvian dishes at reasonable prices. Luckily, things move relatively quick here and, hopefully, you should have your lomo saltado or the big plate of jalea in front of you before you get too irritable. It's a great call for lunch or an easy weeknight dinner. " - ryan pfeffer, virginia otazo, mariana trabanino
"This Edgewater restaurant is a great place to try Peru’s food, featuring Indigenous and Spanish flavors. The modest restaurant consists of a simple dining room with a few sidewalk tables that are always crowded with guests feasting on a menu of anticuchos (grilled skewered meats), chaufas (fried rice) mixed with everything from fish to vegetables, and soups like chupe de camarones made of shrimp, milk, cheese, and eggs. The shareable seafood entrees under $20 are parrillada de mariscos (mixed grilled shellfish), pescado a lo macho (fish stew), and sautéed green noodles with fried fish." - Juliana Accioly
"With so many buildings and restaurants lining Biscayne Boulevard, it’s easy to zoom right by Sabor A Peru. Next time, pay closer attention and stop by to check out its version of classic Peruvian fare. Try one of the dishes featuring tacu tacu, a crispy patty made of rice and beans. Tacu tacu with steak is one of the specialties at Sabor A Peru. It’s also one of the few Peruvian spots open for breakfast serving typical Peruvian breakfast dishes like tamale topped with salsa criolla and chicharron de cerdo." - Amber Love Bond
