The Best Indian Restaurants In Seattle - Seattle - The Infatuation

"For an exciting weeknight bouncing crocks of excellent curries back and forth like a game of pong, Saffron Grill in Northgate is the only way forward. The encyclopedic menu is overwhelming at first glance, but we’re big fans of their signature curry—a tasty thick tomato gravy that breaks down chicken and clings to tandoor-charred naan. It’s all happening in a huge bustling dining room with a lot of comfy plush booths and friendly servers that say things like “Having fun?” instead of “Still working on those?”" - kayla sager riley, aimee rizzo, gabe guarente

The Best Indian and South Asian Restaurants in Seattle | Eater Seattle

"Saffron Grill has is one of the best-loved Indian restaurants in the city. Serving up a fusion of Indian and Mediterranean cuisine, the Northgate spot exudes a family friendly vibe in both its service and its menu. Classic dishes such as the mango chutney chicken curry fare well, but the real winners are the delectable okra masala and the wide assortment of desserts, such as the sinfully sweet gulab jamun." - Alicia Erickson

The space is big, with ample seating available. We arrived here on a quiet afternoon for our lunch. The place was mostly empty. We ordered garlic naan, chicken chili and caesar salad. The salad was tasty and fresh. The naan was hot and supple. The chicken was tangy and spicy. The portions were enough for 2 meals for both my wife and me. The staff were alert and nice. They have a huge bar as well. A good, solid Indian eatery with consistent flavors.

Tried biryani with tofu max spicy and lassi. Biryani taste is ok can add little more salt. Lassi is good. Also food packing with doordash our team felt all packages could have been in single bag rather than separate small bags which was hard to carry to room.

Dear Staff. A plate is very helpful for eating and a fork or spoon even more helpful. It’s also really nice to have a plate and utensil when served food, or within a reasonable time and not after having to ask twice. As to the famous bottomless cup of chai, mine had tons on bottoms. That’s not so bad but still disappointing.

Dined in as a group of three at Saffron Grill for a friend's farewell dinner, and it was a fantastic experience. The ambiance is unmatched with one of the best music in the entire Seattle-Redmond-Bellevue area. The soulful charm of old Bollywood instrumental music adds a nostalgic touch that truly enhances the dining experience. Chai comes with unlimited refills so make sure to not miss out on delicious unlimited chai. We ordered the dal makhani with rice and tandoori roti, and everything tasted great. The dal was flavorful and well-cooked, and the roti stood out, crispy on the edges, soft inside, and served in four pieces per order, which made it perfect for sharing. It’s an excellent spot for both small and large groups. Great food, amazing vibes, and a truly memorable atmosphere with an excellent instrumental music. Highly recommend trying out Saffron Grill!

Google
Saffron Grill is an outstanding Indian/Mediterranean restaurant. The food is delicious and there are plenty of selections from which to choose. John, our server, did an outstanding job taking care of us and the place has a fun atmosphere. This was our second time at Saffron Grill and was better than I remembered. I highly recommend Saffron Grill.

Stayed at the nexus hotel next door and wandered over. Everything was excellent! Our large party tried lots of different items from the menu and they were all great. They even accommodated my picky daughter and got her some buttered noodles. The fruit lemonades were great too!

Google
First time trying authentic Indian Food and I was beyond amazed. Great staff and atmosphere but now I have some good choices for the future. Great help from staff in choosing our dishes - we had samosas with a topping, tandoori chicken and butter chicken and finished with ice cream, baklava, and rice pudding. Love it!

Yelp
We had an amazing experience at Saffron! We got in late, but the staff was incredibly accommodating and got our order in quickly. The food came out fast and was absolutely delicious--top-notch service all around. We ordered the Chicken Tikka Masala with paneer garlic naan, and it was incredible. The flavors were rich, comforting, and perfectly spiced. We also shared the Greek salad, which was huge, fresh, and so tasty. The price point is very fair for the quality and portion size--you could easily split one of the chicken dishes between two people. The interior decor is also stunning--warm, inviting, and beautifully designed. If you're debating whether to dine in or order to-go, this is your sign: go for it. You won't be disappointed!

Yelp
PARKING-First of all, the Restaurant has free parking in front of the restaurant. FYI there is parking but the stalls are a bit narrow, for midsize to larger vehicles. There is wheelchair access via the parking lot. RESV- Made resv. for Fri., 1/17/25, 4pm, via phone the night before. ARRIVAL/CK-IN RECEPTION-We arrived @3:56pm. 3 young ladies greeted us at check-in reception desk. We gave our names and was promptly seated. SEATING-Sat in the larger dining area in a comfortable upholstered bench seat style booth table by a window @ 4pm. AMBIANCE-It was a warmly lit, appointed and designed restaurant with beautiful artwork scattered throughout the dining room areas against the walls. Since we had decided on an early seating, it was a very quiet dining room with about 4 other parties on our side of the restaurant. The restaurant also has further seating on the other side of the reception desk area with tables and upholstered booth tables along the bank of windows. Lovely touches of elegance with warm colors and furnishings. FIRST IMPRESSIONS- It was not our 1st time dining here, so was familiar with the restaurant. Friendly, Welcoming, Nice Ambiance. Nicely Appointed, Clean & Tidy. TABLE SVC-The table we sat at, had a lovely folded napkin on top of a saucer, nice touch! Also a jar of Patak's Mango Pickles and a bottle of Matouk's Flambeau Sauce. There was a small rectangle glass and metal votive candle casting a nice low light, setting a Romantic mood for our Anniversary Dinner. A. Silvana, our waitress came right away and was friendly & genuinely helpful. She gave us water and I asked for lemon so she brought 4 slices right away. FOOD ORDER-We ordered, a Coca Cola- $5.99, the Beef Samosas off of the appetizer menu $9.00+$1.00 for Beef, Butter Chicken Masala-$21.99+$4.00 for Chicken, Paneer Tikka Masala-$21.99+$2.00 for Paneer Cheese and Garlic Naan-$6.99. Total Bill came to: $81.57+ Tip. FOOD RECVD-First was the Beef Samosas. It came nice and hot, with two crispy triangular shaped pastries filled with spiced ground beef on top of a bed of chopped cabbage and herbs, along with a sweet dark sauce accompanied with a lovely fresh green herbed sauce. Nice bright flavor of the green sauce balanced so nicely with the dark sweet sauce and the subtly spiced ground beef filled crispy pastry. Always a delight and always consistent in all of our visits! Samosas-*5 Stars! Next up was the warm, fluffy, spiced Basmati Rice which comes with all of the main dish choices. There are some that would say "It's only rice", but it is something that I give some thought to rating in every restaurant offering. It was perfectly fluffy! It was perfectly seasoned, not too much just enough that the flavor of the rice itself comes through nicely! Basmati Rice-*5 Stars! Next was Garlic Naan. We normally order the Plain Naan, but decided to try the Garlic Naan. Warm, Fresh, Nicely seasoned with Herbs, Butter, Garlic. Perfect balance of seasonings! Garlic Naan-*5-Star! Next was the ever-popular and most revered item on their menu according to many, many reviewers! It was as it always has been, perfectly cooked bites of chicken thigh meat with lovely, creamy, buttery, sauce that just elevates a simple protein! There is definitely a talent making the sauce just so perfectly seasoned, perfectly creamy and perfectly balanced flavors, AND perfectly executed and cooked! We have dined at roughly 15 different Indian restaurants over the years, searching for the most perfect Butter Chicken, one of our fav dishes, but have found only ONE PLACE that meets and exceeds our expectations every single time, Saffron Grill! Butter Chicken Masala-*5 Stars! Best of the Best! (Just wish there was more chicken, lol!) TBL SVC-*5 STARS! A. Silvana checked up on us regularly at nice intervals. Also, a manager also checked in with us twice. Nice! We will be back thanks A. Silvana, and Manager, and staff! OVERALL RATING-5 STARS!!

Yelp
Hadn't been here so long not sure I even had a yelp account back then. Went with friends this past Friday. Needed to catch up they take reservations but it's a good thing we didn't make them cause my friend driving had to push back our time to meet. Probably go there about 7:30 and they seated us fairly quickly in the bar. Staff is extremely friendly and helpful. We shared a few dishes family style. We each selected a dish and added the plain naan. The Gyro Platter, Royal Biryani with chicken and Mango Curry with chicken. My go to is Biryani at an Indian restaurant or dal soup. But my friend had alre selected the Birayani. Mango curry was a little sweet for me I should of guessed that and ordered something else but that's a personal preference. Loved the biryani first time having it with nuts in the dish adds a great texture. Can't go wrong with the Gyro platter. Generous servings and we each went home with leftovers of the dish we selected. Always forget how large the space is it was great to see the doing good business on a Friday night. Decor is warm and welcoming. Hopefully it's not such a long wait on my return.

Yelp
Very solid meal, not too sweet or greasy, as I often find to be the case with Indian restaurants in the seattle metro area! I ordered the paneer tikka and chicken pakora for my meal. They were delicious, just what I was craving. Not the best I've ever had of either, but definitely very good, and with a good portion size. I was starving hungry, and could only finish about half of each. My dining companion had the chicken bhindi masala, it was it quite good as well. Nicely seasoned, great texture, not sweet. I would go here again, if in the area!

Yelp
We came to Saffron at 4:30 on Saturday as a party of 2. This was my first time sitting in Saffron's bar, which is comfortable, spacious and gorgeous to look at. I ordered their Tequila Junglebird, which was tropical and nice. We split their Chicken Tikka and Garlic Naan between ourselves, and left with very happy tastebuds and bellies. I am a longtime lover of Saffron and their food. I liked the bar staff and would love to come back!

Yelp
Nice spacious restaurant with pretty good service. The guy servers were super nice and accommodating. The girls not so much, but people have bad days. Food wasn't anything special. Just tasted like every other Indian place. But overall good experience and would recommend it.

Khusbu S.

Yelp
This is one of my favorite Indian food place for like the basic curry's ( butter chicken, paneer tikka , etc) and portions! They always have great service. I think ambiance for how old it is is def more of a cozy vibe. Love coming here and enjoy the food

Yelp
Used to be good, follow them since they were cedar in U-district. Now??? Last 2 years, always something wrong and turn a fun night no fun. Hot or mild is useless, completely unpredictable and we have a Crohn's patient that would end up watching us eat and drink a protein shake to avoid getting sick. Missing things on the order is often. The chicken in curry is no longer sauté like they used to, they just boil them and mix in the sauce, really? For that price? Bad food, bad experience, worst is unpredictable. And they would call you back and apologize with a coupon but who cares, my night is already ruined once an again. Fast forward, we avoided them for 6 months and decided to give them a chance again this Monday evening when they are not even busy. Nope... actually worse. I believe they no longer specialize in Indian food, they has been expanding their American and Mediterranean menu while shrinking their Indian dish collection. It's sad to say bye to once our old favorite. Saffron is not where I'd want to order REAL Indian food anymore

Yelp
2.5 if I could but I rounded up. I'm a little confused about the high ratings of this restaurant, but I wonder if it just appeals to the masses more. I'm always suspicious and doubtful of restaurants with an expansive menu and especially one that crosses over multiple cultures. For example, this one has Indian, Middle Eastern and American cuisine on their menu. It is odd to me when you can get prime rib at a place that also serves Aloo Gobi. Food: we got the Aloo Gobi and the lamb korma, and neither was really good. The portions were OK but honestly a little small for the price. The lamb was tough and I just found it to be kind of bland. We did also get the garlic naan and that I found to be really yummy and really large. Service and ambience: the service was fast and friendly. This place was obviously very popular and very hopping on a weekend night. So I guess my opinion is pretty unpopular, but it is what it is. I feel like there are much better Indian restaurants that are nearby so I would not recommend this place.
google avatar

Karina N.

Yelp
We are from out of state and saw this place and decided to try! We had the chicken korma and it was sooo good! I'm Indian and the pakoras reminded me of my childhood. I think the chicken korma could have had more flavor and been creamier but it was still soooo good!

Yelp
We go to this café all the time. We actually live in Redmond , but because we love their food and service so much, we keep coming back here. However, during our last visit, we were very disappointed with the way one of the servers treated us -- her behavior was really inappropriate. We reported the issue to the manager, and he handled it very professionally. He personally took care of us and even gave us a complimentary pudding, which we really appreciated. We're grateful that he listened to our concerns and made things right. Thanks to his professionalism, we'll definitely keep coming back -- even more than before -- because we know there are people here who truly take care of their clients.
google avatar

Francesca S.

Yelp
Always love coming here whenever I crave Indian food. We got two orders of Tikka Masala. It is a bit pricey for Indian food, but the vibes are great and the food is even more amazing. This time, the service was super kind and gave us complimentary appetizer and dessert. They gave us veggie samosas and rice pudding. They were both delicious! Definitely still my favorite place to get Indian food!

Jeffrey C.

Yelp
Great service by Rayindra and the rest of the staff Hot satisfying dishes and delicious drinks

Yelp
Came here for a friend's birthday, and it was hopping!! We had a BIG group. The service was amazing. We started off with Garlic Naan and Chai. The chai was next level amazing. So many layers of flavor. Y'all have to eat here because it's LEGIT!!! I ordered Chicken Rogan Josh, and it was lucius and very very filling. The rice was so perfect that I felt like I could just eat that and be happy. But, the Rogun Josh was top-notch.
google avatar

Celina S.

Yelp
TLDR: We loved all the food we ordered, but felt rushed out of the restaurant despite it not being that busy. The lamb biryani was well spiced and fresh, the garlic naan also soft and enough for 3 people, and the saag paneer was yummy and not too oily at all. Out of the options on the tandoori delight appetizer, we liked the fish and chicken the best. They also gave us free samosas as a starter! Would definitely come back for the food but would have liked to linger a bit longer with our friends.
google avatar

Emily T.

Yelp
Came here for dinner and everything was fantastic! From the service to the unlimited chai, and delicious food! Parking - good size lot, easy to find We made reservations in advance but they had tables open so I think walking in for dinner on a weekday would have been fine. Ambiance is great for any occasion! We loved it for our dinner date before heading to the movies! Service - wonderful! They always made sure my chai cup was filled and they were all very attentive and friendly which made the experience here really great. Food + mango lassi - delicious! + chai tea - unlimited refills - I will come back just for this! + butter lamb - this sauce was so good! + saag paneer - loved it! + garlic naan - biggest I've ever seen! + kheer rice pudding was a great way to end the meal! My husband and I loved the ambiance and food. We will definitely be back again!

Mark H.

Yelp
I've eaten Indian food before and Saffron Grill did NOT disappoint. I had the Saffron Tandoori Surprise. It was fabulous. Every item in the plate was truly scrumptious! There was plenty of food left for dinner tonight.
google avatar

Kristen K.

Yelp
A word of caution: Don't get distracted and accidentally drink 8+ cups of the unlimited chai over dinner like me. Oh, it was delicious for sure. But let's just say that I was still awake at 5 am and that one Lactaid pill was not enough. You have been warned. Now to the review: Saffron Grill is a reliable Indian restaurant in Northgate. It's pretty close to the Northgate Link station, but if you're on foot it'll probably take you about 15 minutes to walk there. If you're driving, they've got a parking lot, which is great. I've eaten dinner there in a group of 4 with family and alone when I was nearby. The service is always quick and the staff are friendly. The restaurant has great ambiance and lots of seating, so it's great for groups. It's a bit pricy so I don't go very often, but I have an overall positive opinion of the restaurant. Is the food the best? Honestly, I'm not an expert in Indian food so I can't tell you if it was truly "authentic" or "the best ever". But I've had average meh Indian food at other restaurants before, and I've tried a couple of things on Saffron's menu and each time I've come out very pleased. I also love that they include fish and goat in the meat options for each dish!
google avatar

Mar K.

Yelp
Happy hour. Sometimes when you're stuck in I-5 traffic just get off at the Northgate exit and "Go West, Young [One]!" and the very first restaurant you'll see on your right is Saffron. Turn into their free parking lot and once just walk in. Find a seat at the bar or bar table. First thing you'll notice is the lovely dining area with both booths and tables -- there's a comfortable beauty about the space. Happy hour menu includes some wonderful classics including baba ghanouj w/ pita, vegetable samosas (2 per order), garlic naan, chicken tikka (3 tender pieces). The chicken tikka is perfect. Tender, flavorful, with the dipping sauce to die for. We ordered both the garlic naan and the spinach naan. The spinach naan is the best in the Pacific Northwest (without exaggeration). The naan are each larger than a frisbee and come out piping hot. Absolutely delicious to rip into. Order a round of Manny's -- the pints arrive in cold glasses. Had not been here since last January and there were some new faces on the staff but received the same more than welcome. Don't forget to pick up a handful of the fennel mix on your way out. It's great for mouth freshening after the rich spices of the meal.
google avatar

Mike L.

Yelp
Came on a recommendation from a friend for really good Indian food. The exterior gives Applebees vibes and the interior gives Italian restaurant vibes but don't let it stop you. There's an extensive Indian menu and if you're not wanting that, they have some American and Mediterranean food. Tandoori chicken: four big chunks of chicken are given and it has a lot of flavor! It's just a little dry but not like that. The chutney that comes with it is delicious and pairs well with the chicken. Overall a big portion of food. Rose syrup with sprite: I didn't really pick up any rose syrup and it was just sprite to me. I'll probably pass on this next time. Garlic naan: giant portion of naan that's fluffy, slightly salty, and has fresh garlic on it. A must get! Tikka masala: on point and paired very well with naan or rice. Services as pretty good as well and overall will be back when I'm craving some Indian food.

Farzana M.

Yelp
They charge 20% service fee for a party of 4 or more. Not happy about that, they need to tell you in advance. Most places do that for a party of 6-8 or more. Good food though.
google avatar

Alex R.

Yelp
Saffron Grill! What a hidden gem! I live right off aurora and this restaurant is right off the freeway. The amount of time I have driven right past this restaurant and I have always wondered what the food was like. I went up going to this restaurant on a Wednesday night! Fairly packed but the place is so big! The menu is also big! It ranges from Indian Cuisine to curries to Mediterranean. We settled for a Greek salad to share which was a generous portion. The butter chicken, the chicken Tikka and of course the garlic Nan. The butter chicken was delicious. I got a three stars and it was perfectly spicy enough! The nan bread was bigger than the plate and perfect to dip in the butter chicken sauce. The chicken tikka was perfectly cooked. We also ordered a side of yogurt sauce for extra dipping. There was enough left overs to bring home and have another meal the next day! I would definitely come back.
google avatar

Elizabeth M.

Yelp
Food is great and decent portions! Service was quick on a Sunday night. My favorite was the hot chai, they pour and filled my cup like it is a breakfast diner. This is what we ordered: . Chicken Tandoori 8.5/10 Butter Lamb 8/10 Garlic naan 8/10 Beef samosa 9/10 Hot chai 10/10 10/10 I would come back again
google avatar

Yelp
Ambiance, food healthy & excellent--great service...my FAVORITE Mediterranean restaurant. Great selection and variety. Great wine pairings and desserts. Good sample plate option if unfamiliar with food.FILAFILS and Babaganoush was extraordinary.
google avatar

Yelp
This place is amazing from the service to the food, drinks and ambiance. The food was amazing we came in with a big party and the staff were so friendly and accommodating. I'm almost going to say this may be the best Indian restaurant in Seattle.
google avatar

Chris V.

Yelp
Their Happy Hour menu is good. The staff was very attentive too but I think I'll try another olace next time when in the Northgate area. The garlic naan didn't have much garlic on it but the food was good overall.
google avatar

Chloe M.

Yelp
Great spot! Great service! Chai tea was great, unlimited refills. Got the medium hott butter masala with vegetables and it was great. Nann was cooked perfect too! They give you a free samosas appetizer when you first sit down which is nice. We will be back! Menu is huge! Lots of meat/vegetarian options.
google avatar

Jennifer T.

Yelp
Great food. Service a little rushed though. They were clearing off the table before I was even putting on my coat. The ambience was okay but a little loud. Ask for a quiet table and you can get one on the left hand side of the entrance. The decor is beautiful.
google avatar

Dan P.

Yelp
Always love saffron grill. We come often. Great ambiance, great service. Food is delish. I love how they change up their cocktails often. We have tried a lot of different items on the menu but always fall back to the butter tofu. I've taken family members who don't care for Indian food and had their steaks. Surprisingly very good!
google avatar

Karen M.

Yelp
Everything in the menu looked great and everything from the menu was fantastic. Enough portion size in the 2 dishes and spinach naan for two dinners. Lovely staff makes the experience all the richer. Look forward to next visit!!

Yelp
Having a bad night Saffron?? Have eaten here before and enjoyed it. But, tonight, my to go order placed in the restaurant... Tandoori chicken breast was very very dry, looks like you gave us two Naans instead of the one ordered, Greek fries were very heavy with oil and tasteless, and the two mango chutneys were missing (found after an hours drive home). When I was waiting for my order another patron arrived to receive a food item because some mistake had been made on her earlier to go order. Really Saffron?? The receipt stapled to the bag clear listed mango chutney x2. Who is assembling these orders? How hard can it be to get something so simple right? Very poor show and terrible customer service. Please do better, speak with your staff to focus on doing their jobs without careless mistakes. That's what we pay you to do. A pissed off customer.

Lisa W.

Yelp
we have come to Saffron Grill for years and love it. However, there is a problem with the website. I checked it online and saw the price for Shish Taouk was $22.99 which is my favorite dish there. When we got to Saffron we opened the menu and saw prices were not what was shown online. My meal was $27.99 instead of $22.99. I understand prices can go up a little but this is a lot! please update your online menu prices.

Yelp
A bug in our Greek salad. We left without our main course. Manager said he won't charge for the salad but no thank you

Laura K.

Yelp
Picked this spot to meet up with some friends who we hadn't seen in quite some time. The food was wonderful and our server was attentive, friendly and in no way hurried us along. A great experience from start to finish. We don't live close by but if we did this would be a regular stop for us.

Yelp
We love Indian food. The menu had us intrigued, especially the naan options. Have never seen Mango Curry on a menu before. If any other Indian restaurants are reading this ADD IT TO YOUR MENU! This is the best curry I have ever eaten. The savory and sweet mix of flavors exceeded my expectations. Their naan was fantastic, especially the pashwari which had us trying to figure out what spice they used to take it over the top. Service was great but went the extra mile when our server brought us a sample of their HOT BAKLAVA!!! Yeah, you read that right. I really enjoy Baklava, but warmed up is dangerously to the waistline. I will be happily sleeping this meal off this afternoon. Love this place.

Yelp
Dinner here again it does not disappoint! For appetizers ordered beef keema Naan which is a meal in itself and garlic naan. Entree ordered lamb mango curry and lamb butter masala comes with jasmine rice. All were soooo delicious and don't forget unlimited chai! Our server Amy was a sweetie always checking on us and has a nice smile. The place incorporates some Indian decor. We love coming here and hope to bring our daughters and my parents soon.
google avatar

Marlee K.

Yelp
I had a business meeting with three others and due to a snowy week day the place was pretty quiet. The staff was great, very friendly and attentive. One of our party was Vegan and knew what to order. The wait staff also could guide her choice. We were all happy with our meals and did not feel rushed to conclude our meeting. Highly recommend!

Ryan H.

Yelp
Check orders to go. They forget stuff. They don't even credit you for having to drive back in to grab forgotten items.
google avatar

Nicholas B.

Yelp
Over priced and absolutely disgusting. . Have no idea how they received any awards or accolades. I had explosive diarrhea for 2 days straight after eating here ., be very cautious when eating food from people from different countries especially Indian cuisine , the hygiene there isn't the best . Over priced for what you receive. A true embarrassment to my organization
google avatar

Marielle J.

Yelp
This place is downright phenomenal! Very much recommend the chicken tikka and butter chicken. Recently this past weekend, I tried the chicken tikka breast meal and it was succulent, juicy and tender! The vegetables and rice were also very good! I recommend the Naan breads, especially the one that has meat in it, it's chopped and thin and also recommend the paneer and garlic naan! They're HUGE and good for sharing. I haven't been to Saffron when it was not too crowded and it was just right this past weekend. The parking lot fills up quick so recommend coming earlier or later than peak, especially during the weekends. It's been a while so their ambiance has gotten a lot brighter since I've been here. Our server was great!

I've heard a lot of good things about Saffron and was in the area, so I decided to try it for myself. First, I'll start with the decor - both the inside and outside are nicely decorated and clean, the space is large with plenty of seating. We were greeted by the host and immediately sat at a booth. We looked over the extensive menu, with a combination of Indian and some Mediterranean dishes. We started with the vegetable samosas and paneer pakora. The samosas were amazing, they were perfectly crispy on the outside but not greasy at all, and soft and flavorful on the inside. It was my first time trying paneer pakora (deep fried paneer) and it was so good! The outside was crispy/crunchy and the inside was the soft cheese. I love paneer main dishes, so this was a great appetizer. We then had Vindaloo chicken, spice level 6 out of 8, which was a little too spicy but the riata (yogurt sauce) offset the spice, next time I'd order a 4 spice level. I haven't found onion kulcha where I live in Washington but was so excited to see Saffron had it... it was great! The piece was large and cooked fresh, full of onions and flavor - very impressive. Overall, all around satisfied and hit the spot for that authentic Indian food craving. Definitely recommend and will be back!

Yelp
Get the unlimited chai, vegetable samosas with the green chutney, and butter chicken. You're welcome. Service has always been great. Fun ambiance. Lively and well decorated.

Yelp
There's a trend sweeping the restaurant business of including a gratuity/Service charge for smaller and smaller parties. Saffron includes 20% service charge for parties of 4 or more. Therefore, there isn't an incentive to provide good service. And poor service is exactly what we got. Despite having reservations, we were seated literally 5 feet from the front entrance and right near where they store extra silverware. And there were many empty tables in the main dining area. Our server took our initial order then we never saw her again. We had to flag down busboys to get drinks refilled. Dinner plates were never brought out and we ate our main course off tiny appetizer plates. I really don't know exactly what happened here, but we were thoroughly disappointed. Perhaps it is some indirect racism toward brown skinned families? But I am not sure of this. I know the owner would never seat a white family where we were seated. And no, I've never claimed any type of racism in any reviews. Food was ok so gave it 2 stars. Lost us as customers though.

Yelp
Very attentive service. Nice atmosphere. I wish the food measured up to the environment. We ordered and out came small complimentary samosas. So cute! I was immediately excited. Unfortunately, they only tasted like fried dough. We shared saag paneer - by far the best thing we ate. However, we ordered medium spicy, and it came zero spicy. If there were any spices in this dish I couldn't find them. We also shared the appetizer mixed tandoori. There were 4 different proteins, and only one was good - the lamb. The fish was so salty it wasn't edible. The chicken looked like chicken but didn't have the texture or taste of chicken. At first,I wondered if it was the fish. The ground lamb skewer was ok, just no seasoning. They they brought complimentary rice pudding. The service and little gestures were so nice, I wish the food was better.

Yelp
I used to dine here a lot during nursing school and always impressed by the really good Indian food they offer. The dishes are full of flavors, with curries that are rich in both spices and taste. Interior design is super good and clean The service is great, with attentive staff who make sure our experience is always enjoyable. They are quick to refill our drinks, ensuring we never have to ask. Despite being always packed, the service remained efficient and friendly. The average pricing makes it a great value for the quality of food and service. If you're in the area and craving flavorful Indian cuisine, this place is definitely worth it. At the end of your meal, be sure to try their chai - the free refills are a delightful bonus.

Yelp
The food was delicious, I always get the butter chicken masala or butter paneer masala. It never disappoints. The staff there are all very friendly.
