DC's New Restaurant Openings - Washington DC - The Infatuation

"Sagrada is serving a psychedelic-inspired tasting menu on 14th Street on the second floor of Mi Vida. The $111 menu evokes the stages of a psychedelic trip, and a portion of proceeds supports Johns Hopkins’ Center for Psychedelic and Consciousness Research." - omnia saed

The Best New Restaurants in D.C., July 2025 | Eater DC

"Knead Hospitality + Design transformed the mezzanine level of its 14th Street NW Mexican restaurant Mi Vida into Sagrada, a trippy, sage-scented tasting room that explores the transformative power of psychedelics—through food. While no actual psilocybin is used, the $111-per-person affair mirror the stages of a psychedelic trip across an eight-course journey, from ceremonial cacao poured in clay cups to visually immersive dishes full of mushrooms and beets. Hours are Monday to Friday, with two seatings nightly for a choice of “plant-based” or “flexitarian” menu options." - Eater Staff

Took a chance on Sagrada while on a business trip and was thoroughly impressed. Each element of the dining experience, from the detailed dish explanations to the staff’s meticulous service, felt intentional and thoughtful. The chef’s creative risks paid off, shout out to the olive oil corn cake which might be my favorite dessert of all time. The only place points were lost is the music :( the constant, heavy bass was annoyingly distracting. Despite that, I highly recommend Sagrada for anyone seeking a memorable and different dining experience .

After much anticipation, I finally enjoyed an experience at Sagrada because it was more than just a meal. Overall it was a unique and interesting meal and experience. There was a high level of attention to detail throughout the meal but it was also still a work in progress. For one course they forgot to give us silverware until we asked leaving us briefly wondering if we were meant to eat with our hands. We decided to go with the non alcoholic pairing because I rarely drink these days and my companion hasn't had a drink in 14 years. All of the pairing were interesting and there was only one "drink" that I didn't really enjoy. It was all going really well until they poured us two glasses of red wine that I commented tasted surprisingly similar to red wine for being non alcoholic (which probably should have been my sign cause the last imitation red i had tasted like vinegar). I took a bathroom break and when I returned we were informed that an error had been made and we had been served alcohol. I'm still not totally sure how they figured it out but thankfully each of us had only had a couple of sips before they took it away. To the restaurants credit, there were lots of apologies and reassurances and thankfully we both okay afterwards (although my companion did feel a little woozy briefly) but as a former server/ bartender I've always been highly considerate of peoples allergies and preferences because I think it's up to each person to determine what goes in their own body and the why is none of my business so I really feel a way when people's preferences are disrespected, even accidently, because it's life and death for some folks. When you are trusted to be the steward of someone's food and beverage, their life is in your hands and that trust needs to be taken seriously. Mistakes happen and I always looks at the response more then the actions, but this left us a bit shaken and hopefully it shook them as well and won't happen to anyone else.

We were excited to finally try Sagrada and chose it to celebrate my husband’s sister’s engagement. While we had a 7:45 reservation, we ended up waiting in line for over 25 minutes before being seated upstairs. Once we were inside, the welcoming atmosphere and the overall concept were impressive. The ambiance was visually beautiful, though being located above Mi Vida made it much louder than expected — for the type of experience Sagrada aims to offer, a calmer setting would have been ideal. The plant-based menu had some good options, but overall, the food and service didn’t fully justify the price point. Additionally, the presence of influencers using bright lights during dinner was quite disruptive. We raised the concern with our server, but unfortunately, no action was taken. Overall, Sagrada has a great concept and aesthetic, but the execution on food, service, and overall guest experience could use improvement.

By far the most creative, fun meal experience of my entire life. We’ll remember it forever. Very pricey but nonetheless a great value given the artistry, hospitality, and complexity of your journey. We loved the plant-based menu though none of us are vegan, and we shared an NA drink pairing which was fun. Jack Frost was the best. My favorite flavor was the cacao, favorite presentation was the way you come back to your body. Pro tip: Don’t bring a date here unless you want them to fall madly in love with you.

¡¡Dios mío!! Each course was beautiful, unique and full of flavor - most beloved were the mushrooms & beet tartare, but then again the short rib with mole was also outstanding. Dessert was magnificent. We ordered the Flexitarian but Sagrada is so much more than just dinner. It's an experience that is intentionally designed for guests to enjoy every moment. The service was exceptional. What a wonderful way to share quality time with loved ones. Plan for 2+ hours!! Did I forget to mention delicious Syrah wine pairing from Mexico?? It was almost like being in another country - such a dreamy escape from DMV life!!

Yelp
What a wonderful evening we enjoyed last night at Sagrada which is located upstairs at the beautiful Mi Vida 14th St. It was a truly unique and memorable dining experience. A one-of-a-kind meal we will never forget. The food and elixirs were creative and well executed and we especially enjoyed how each course wove together as part of a bigger story. The service was impressive given how intricately choreographed the whole meal was and everything was done with such thoughtfulness, intention, and beauty. All six senses were engaged and we walked away from our "journey" with a sense of gratitude. I would not hesitate to recommend!
