Google
Wonderful service, sat at the sushi bar and enjoyed a special roll that I asked the chef to make something with the freshest fish available, 10/10 recommend! Happy hour was worth it!

Google
We celebrated a special occasion at Seiko Sushi and had a fantastic time. The staff was incredibly warm and attentive, the host and hostess took great care of us from the moment we walked in. The sushi was fresh and flavorful, and the cocktails were excellent. I’d honestly recommend just one… they’re strong and really well made. Service was smooth, the vibe was great, and overall the wait time was very reasonable. Highly recommend Seiko Sushi if you’re looking for a memorable spot on Coronado Island.

Google
We went for dinner last night with my three small grandchildren, and they left us waiting outside in the cold for almost two hours before assigning us a table, because the hostess at the entrance insisted that was “the table.” After the table was finally occupied, we went to speak with her, and she didn’t send anyone to clean it until 44 minutes later. Then, when we asked for a baby chair, she brought it 14 minutes later, with a bad attitude and no manners. On top of that, the service at the table was painfully slow, and the food was far from delicious. Because of all these issues, I have decided never to go back to that place

Google
Loved the sushi at Saiko Sushi! We ordered the Saiko, imperial, black belt, and ace rolls as well as the garlic seared opah nigiri, and opah belly steamed buns. We also ordered the clean & light and vibrant & refreshing flights. Everything was amazing, really liked the unique rolls they have. We sat on the dog friendly patio. The service was excellent, friendly, and quick. Recommend!

Google
Extremely tasty sushi at a good price. The smoked salmon, shrimp tempura, and buns were savory and fresh. There are a decent amount of options for saki and our waiter was extremely friendly and helpful.

Google
Tim was our sushi chef last night. We’ve been here 4 or 5 times and he served us at the bar last time. Amazing recommendation on the sushi we ordered and let us try Vampire Squid. Do it. It’s an experience!!!

Google
First time going to this place as I dont live here, and I have an anaphylactic dairy allergy. I asked the waitress if they were milk in the pork buns and she went to ask the chef, which he said no. Not the waitresses fault but extremely and disgustingly inattentive as they DID in fact have dairy where I had to use my epinephrine and go to the emergency room for 4 hours because my throat was closing. Ruined part of my trip.

Google
I’ve been going to this place for a while now, but the last couple times the food has been horrible. I thought I’d give it another shot and again today the food was really bad. My tempura was very disappointing (just bad) and my rice on the sushi was very dry. I probably will not be going back to this establishment and will no longer be recommending it. On a good note: The waitress always provides friendly service when placing an order.

Yelp
Fantastic! My boyfriend and I went right at 4:30 on a Friday night for happy hour. I asked if they could make the shrimp tempura crunchy roll and he knew exactly what I wanted. We ordered edamame, miso soup , California roll , and 2 glasses of Chardonnay. Total was a tad over $40. Im on a staycation with my bf and we had a great meal and service for a fair price. Our server was Frankie and I would ask for him next time!

Yelp
Not bad. Kinda pricy, but so is every other restaurant in town. And this is sushi, so you could probably consider this a better deal than the other joints around, especially if you come during happy hour. I came on Monday, which is happy hour all night apparently. Good service and vibes. Edamame - It's alright. Towards the bottom, there were a couple pieces that were weirdly soft a little bit, but nothing bad. Miso soup - A bit light on the miso for my preference, but otherwise good. Tuna - I think I'm just being extra, but calling a couple pieces of nigiri a "flight" feels kinda cringe to me. Like slamming two culturally saturated terms that have no business being together. But I do that kinda crap all the time too, so then I'm just being hypocritical. The quality of the tuna seems good and the slices were big. I particularly liked the one that was seared with the pepper, nice umami. Wasabi - Very generic tasting. Not real wasabi of course, but it does have some bite to it, so not bad. Pickled ginger - I've noticed putting this in the flowery shape tends to dry out of it more than I'd like. Not sure why. Of course, I suspect most don't people don't eat this, making plating arguably more important. Saiko roll - Easily my favorite item. As someone who normally likes to eat food with tons of flavor and spicy crap, the subtle flavors of sushi are sometimes lost on my destroyed taste buds. This is a lot of flavor and a lot of carbs. Delicious. American sushi joints are best at making Americanized fried roll abominations after all. Lol. Speaking of spicy food, the waitress also recommended the market veggie curry. I was intrigued but suspicious and asked if it was Japanese style curry, and if it was spicy. It sounds like they never get asked this as she said, "not really? It's yellow curry," and "it's kind of mild." After that, I asked if I could "make it spicy." She was even more surprised by this question and both her and the sushi guy at the counter asked 'what did I mean by that?' I supposed I could've asked them to add chili or give me hot sauce, but at that point I kind of assumed it wasn't going to be good and said 'nevermind.' To be fair, yellow curry isn't supposed to be AS spicy as some other curry? But also to be fair, yellow curry should be a Thai dish, which implies they're recommending me a nondescript curry that is actually a Thai curry at a Japanese restaurant. If I asked for more spice at a Japanese curry joint in Japan, never in a million years would someone ask 'what did I mean by that?' But we're not in Japan, okay, fair. Lol. Well, if I'm ever here again, I finally order it out of curiosity.

Yelp
Big shout-out to Jaime of Saiko Sushi. I'd tried to make a reservation at Yummy Sushi, explaining that we're local, semi-regulars, and that it's our 20th anniversary. I asked if they could they could bend their reservation rule of parties of 6 or over, and they said, per their manager, no (it would have been for only 6pm, not exactly the dinner rush- just attempting to sneak in a special dinner while our kiddo is at karate). So I reached out to Saiko, and Jaime could not have been friendlier or nicer, even saying that she'd see if she could do something special. Saiko Sushi just became our sushi go-to place in town. Customer service, some reasonable flexibility, and basic human kindness... it makes ALL the difference. Get that right, and you'll get loyal customers.

Yelp
Had a beef bowl and the chef's choice for sashimi. Food was fresh and service was good. It's definitely meant for tourists

Yelp
Coronado island sushi bar and grill Saiko Sushi is serving creative, local fish, rolls, drinks, and other Japanese fare. AMBIANCE Modern, day-lit, and just a little quirky with homage to Godzilla and retro Japanese art. SERVICE Friendly, helpful, knowledgeable, attentive FOOD 5/5 Shrimp Yakitori: tenderly grilled on a skewer, with a delicate yet delightfully fragrant tandoori marinade. 4.5/5 Saiko Roll: salmon, yellowtail, Kani Kama (imitation crab meat) wrapped in sushi form, then tempura fried, and served with wasabi aioli and an almost gel-like caramelized soy sauce 4/5 Spicy Opah Roll: subtly spicy

Yelp
I got reservations for a Friday night, we got there a little and the host kindly was able to seat us right away. Just in time for us to still make Happy Hour. The happy hour portions are huge and so affordable. I suggest going hungry. We ordered the Saiko edamame, spicy opa roll, champ roll and a salmon avocado roll. All delicious. For desert we got the PB mocha cheesecake. So delicious and decadent. It's a small restaurant but they really make it work. The full windows in the front makes for great lighting. A wonderful time really

Yelp
Waiting over 1 hour for food. 12 tables . Still not here! Saki flights are tasty. Ordered the Special...Just ok, portion was very lite. 1234567890123456789012345

Yelp
A to Z fabulous team and excellent food. The ambiance is ideal for the location...clean, neat and usually street parking available.

Yelp
In Coronado for work. Stopped in for dinner. Had the sesame seasoned edamame, a crown roll and a tempura ice cream sandwich. I would order the roll again but not the other two. Service was great. Place is small but we never felt rushed.

Yelp
Saiko is a gem on Coronado island. Their sushi is one of the best places I have had the pleasure of dining at. All their cuts are so fresh and they have a lot of awesome daily specials that have some unique cuts of fish and rolls. The service here is always on point but it never hurts to make a reservation as it is a small place. The restaurant is very cozy but modern.
google avatar

Yelp
I used to frequent the Saiko location north park and we were saddened that our go to happy hour sushi spot was no longer. Luckily, the Coronado location exists! This review is for happy hour only. First, pleasantly surprised to learn that happy is from 4:30-9pm on Mondays! 4-6:30pm the rest of the week. It wasn't overwhelmingly busy and our server was attentive. The happy hour menu here didn't have all the same items as the north park location but still had our favorite saikorama roll. I don't typically gravitate towards cooked rolls but it has a nice balance of crunch and flavor especially with the sauces. We also got the Saiko Edamame (Interesting flavors with celery salt, oil and a LOT of garlic), pork gyoza, salmon avocado roll (classic), spicy opah roll, champ roll (another cooked fish roll). I was disappointed at the lack of raw fish options on the menu. Overall, it was a good deal if you're in the area but I won't be trekking out to Coronado regularly for this happy hour.

Yelp
Food was amazing. Unique and eclectic takes on rolls. Service took some time. Nice Ambiance and to highly recommend a sake flight.

Matt E.

Yelp
The amount of fake crab in most of the rolls is very excessive. When all but 3 rolls offered have kani mamma( fake crab) it's not a great sushi place.you know it's pathetic when they sit you so low at the sushi bar you can't see the crap they are putting in the rolls. Go to our local grocery store you will get better and more honest sushi, How can the best sushi around come from god dam Jackson Wyoming. You see any fake crab no thats all fish flown in within 24 hours. You are in San Diego so pathetic you can't do better. Fake crab out of a can nice job.

Yelp
Service is hit or miss with servers. Sushi chefs are good and engaged. Good fish selection.

Yelp
Great place for every min once a week , fantastic service and cozy ambience . Draft beer is ice cold , nigiri's are limited but great freshness !

Yelp
SERVICE SUCKS at Saiko on a Thursday night! Our server was more focused on to go orders, and the floater with pink hair saw us and shuttered in avoidance when we tried to flag him down so we can pay for another round of drinks. Very Strange reaction for any business who is trying to grow and drive revenue. We won't be coming back! We went down to Nicky Rottens a few doors down for more drinks and dessert. Highly recommend them for their friendly service! P.S. Please give TREY a promotion! He was hustling the whole time we were there being ignored by our waiter (Franco B) and pink haired guy. Trey was super friendly and seems to be to only one who took their job seriously!
google avatar

Tina K.

Yelp
Loved this place! I unfortunately don't remember the servers name, but she was so on top of everything with a smile on her face the entire time. The sushi was delicious. Fish tasted fresh, you can tell it was prepared with care & not rushed. Definitely recommend & would return.
google avatar

Melanie Z.

Yelp
Stopped in for lunch during a week day. Restaurant wasn't really busy. Took a long time to get someone to come wait on us. Sushi was expensive and below sub par. Would not recommend and will not return.

Yelp
BEST SUSHI EVER. I'm from arizona visiting california and my uncle took me to this spot. a little pricey but the sushi is amazing!! You have to get the crown roll!! was definitely our favorite from the other ones we tried.

Amber W.

Yelp
We made an reservation and when we arrived we were promptly walked to our reserved table. The waitress congratulated us on our wedding anniversary which was very thoughtful and treated us to a green tea ice cream. The imperial sushi was fantastic. The night of the swimming dead roll had a perfect touch of herb laid on top. Their nutmeg oatmilk speciality drink tasted wonderful but had a little too much ice in it. We had a great time! Thank you.

Michelle W.

Yelp
Incredible sushi, and tempura shrimp. Stellar Happy Hour! 5 stars! Staff are all friendly and welcoming!!

Yelp
Saiko Sushi is a local treasure. Great food & employees. Bento Box for lunch is a great value.

Yelp
I can only say - each bite was a burst of delicious happiness. Highly recommend this great restaurant. Tip: you can take the ferry from the Convention Center to the Coronado dock - check out the Flagship Cruise website. It really worth the trip.

Thomas TJ M.

Yelp
Food was good. Service was extremely friendly. Happy Hour deals were really good. Nothing mind blowing but a really solid sushi experience.
google avatar

CoRy C.

Yelp
We were in the Coronado area of San Diego today. This restaurant was pretty busy during lunch (so be prepared to be patience if you come during peak lunch time). We ordered the Teriyaki Chicken bento box and a special order of their Tempura Roll add avocado & blue crab . Their other rolls that came out looked fresh & appetizing. The restaurant was pretty clean and the restrooms were decent. The server was pretty friendly and did her best to take care of her customers. They could use an extra server. Overall, not bad the food was good and reasonably priced.
google avatar

Hector M.

Yelp
The freshness of the seafood they prepare is the key for all their dishes followed by the large variety of fishes and great customer service from : Franco and Josh at the sushi bar.
google avatar

Phuong H.

Yelp
I ordered take out from here & it was super fresh & delicious! I ordered - RAINBOW ROLL: You really can't go wrong with the rainbow roll, I order this at most sushi restaurants and it didn't miss. KINGPIN ROLL: My husband enjoyed this, super fresh. The rolls are a little small for the price but the quality is great.
google avatar

Amanda N.

Yelp
Super unique sushi rolls which can be on the pricier side. Great date night spot as its right next to centennial park in Coronado so you can walk and see the skyline of downtown sd with all its lights. Went for my birthday and i had an option for free ice cream, vanilla, matcha, and unagi. Suprisingly unagi was delicious. It was sweet but salty, perfectly balanced. My bf and I shared 4 different rolls. We got the Crown Roll, Kingpin Roll, Saiko Roll and the Blackbelt roll. Our favorite was Blackbelt as the pineapple jalapeño emulsion sauce was so damn flavorful like mm mm mmmm. They open later than most sushi restaurants, and I would come back again just for the ice cream and blackbelt roll.
google avatar

Isaac H.

Yelp
Amazing sushi!!! A great price for the portions and flavors you get! Went during happy hour and while it's definitely cheaper, the portions are still huge! You'll leave happy hour super full.
google avatar

Laisha F.

Yelp
The service was super quick! My partner and I sat at the bar and the bartender was super nice and always checked on us. I didn't get his name but he was the best! We got the black belt roll, crown roll, and the grand roll. I'd really recommend the crown roll. The lychee drink was really good too. Great place for date night.

Edry G.

Yelp
Great food and service! Our go to neighborhood place! Great bartender and different black board offerings!
google avatar

Hallie N.

Yelp
Yes please ! That's all I Gotta say! Amazing fresh fish! Ambiance is great outside seating is so nice on Nado!
google avatar

Leo B.

Yelp
Food was great, but if you don't like your crunch rolls sweet, don't forget to take off the eel sauce. Service is nice, and ithe place is clean and has a nice vibe. My only complaint is how long it takes to get food. Service is very slow, but other than that, really good
google avatar

Zig Z.

Yelp
One of my favorite places to go! I have been eating here for 10+years! The only time it was not worth it was a 2-3 year period after covid.. I went a week ago, and the quality, service, and taste is back up to its old standard. The restaurant it self is clean and comfortable for a casual meal. I would say to go during happy hour, and you will be happy with the prices especially if you are sharing. If you are a vacation and want good sushi you won't be disappointed. :)

Elaine C.

Yelp
I wish I had gotten pics but I was so hungry I didn't get a chance to snap any. The sushi was so good! The restaurant had a really chill and down to earth ambiance as well. My friend and I shared the Saiko tempura (mixed), the Kingpin roll (8) and the Grand roll (8). I really like the Grand roll, the goat cheese and mango added a nice flavor to it that wasn't overpowering. The Kingpin was my second favorite, the yuzu was noticeable but again, not overwhelming so it let each ingredient shine. It also wasn't really all that spicy. Customer service was great too! I'd totally go back if I visited Coronado again.

Sofie M.

Yelp
Food, Service and Ambiance is always amazing there me and all my friends try to go there once a week!! Couldn't recommend more!!
google avatar

Cassandra B.

Yelp
Best sushi on the island! The menu is not over extensive like most sushi restaurants. Instead they have quality rolls and FRESH fish. The staff is always super friendly and helpful, and the ambiance is casual and comfortable. I love sitting out on the patio where you can see the bay!
google avatar

E K.

Yelp
Best sushi in Coronado! Can have a wait on busy times. Crown roll is the best! Along with tuna flights
google avatar

Barry M.

Yelp
Food was good but in a place this small it shouldn't take 30 minutes to get your first drink. The food beat the drinks to the table.
google avatar

Janine P.

Yelp
Food was great. Most of the sushi I have eaten after one plate I would feel stuff but this place not only the food tastes awesome but doesn't make you feel bloated and heavy. The tuna roll was refreshing and light taste. The salmon nagiri was delicious and flavorful. The grand roll which is eel was amazing. The hint on winter taste because there was sweetness to it plus the char taste of the eel was good. I was hungry and forgot to take pictures but it was good. The waitress was nice and served us well. But the host didn't like much. I had reservation but I was late because of unforeseen circumstances, she made seems like our reservation was given away and saying they are fully booked while at that time, the place was barely packed and have plenty of open table. Didn't like her attitude. The ambiance was a bit dark but it was good. Kinda like a bar type style. Clean place and they have clean facilities.

Lindsey F.

Yelp
This place is a hidden GEM! The food, drinks and service are all amazing! We ordered sashimi, the Crown roll and dirty Tokyo rice. All of it was 10/10! Matt at the sushi bar was informative, knowledgeable and supper helpful. We will be back for sure!
google avatar

Charlotte B.

Yelp
I have been here multiple times. I used to go more frequently when I lived close to the Coronado bridge because of the accessibility. I liked it a year and a half ago the multiple times I went, but this past week it wasn't as good. I got the Crown Roll which didn't have much flavor, salmon nigiri which wasn't the freshest and the rice was old and not cooked well. The miso soup was my favorite part of it. The ambiance in there is nice and they have a nice bar area. The service there has always been mediocre and the staff aren't very happy/friendly.
google avatar

Sean E.

Yelp
Food and service were good. I had the Saiko roll. They did have some gluten free options for my wife.

Max R.

Yelp
Food took 10 years, restaurant is dirty, understaffed, regular sushi for an expensive price
google avatar

AJ H.

Yelp
This small Coronado sushi restaurant was very nice. Its outdoor patio was very comfortable and the service was solid. The quality of the salmon and tuna was great. The yellowtail sashimi seemed a little fishy but besides that, everything was great at Saiko.

Michele S.

Yelp
Great food! Enjoyed the combination of flavors and the quality of fish. We enjoyed every roll in our order.
google avatar

Hannah V.

Yelp
John and Jen were a dynamic duo at the sushi bar. Their customer service was top notch and the quality of the food was just as high. Sushi chef John made us a custom roll after asking us what we liked!

Ryan M.

Yelp
Everything is amazing as always. Sushi chef Tim is always on point and can answer any questions about the fish on hand. Trust him and his recommendations!!!!
google avatar

Saliha M.

Yelp
Super nice staff. There was a confusion from my end, I did t understand the Japanese term for imitation crab in the black belt roll. I'm not a fan of imitation crab, I always swap it out for spicy tuna. I just ate the top salmon and avocado part and avoided the imitation crab part of the roll. Its a preference thing of mine. They offered to remake the roll for me but I felt awful because of the misunderstanding from the menu. They ended up comping that from my check. I really had a good experience here, everyone was nice, attentive and had great energy. I came with my friend who is pregnant so they accommodated us for ensuring her food was fully cooked. Highly recommend people to come here and sit at the bar like we did for that kind of similar experience.
