Unique and interesting dinner experience. Friendly and knowledgeable service, quality meals and unique home/turned restaurant atmosphere. Nice wine and cocktail selection. The port (on the dessert menu) was fantastic! I recommend the salmon. Yum! You'll need a reservation, as seating is limited.

As a Brazilian and a total dessert person, the very first thing that made me want to try Salt of the Earth was their Brazilian Carrot Cake with ganache and toasted coconut. It sounded like home. But little did I know that the entire meal would turn out to be one of the best dining experiences I’ve ever had. We started with the Beetroot Cheesecake, and wow—what a surprise. It was light, flavorful, with just the right balance of sweet and savory. Honestly, it was the kind of dish you take one bite of and instantly know you're in for something special. For the main course, we had the Bone-in Porterhouse Veal, which was the special of the day. Perfectly seasoned (I mean really, some restaurants forget salt exists—but not here!), and served with this creamy, dreamy buttermilk, golden raisin, spinach, and blue cheese risotto. Every bite was rich and comforting. The green beans were perfectly blanched, and the strawberry wine coulis added such a unique and delicious twist to the whole dish. Then came dessert—and it felt like a warm hug from home. The Brazilian Carrot Cake was moist, not too sweet, with that perfect crunch from the toasted coconut. I honestly got emotional—it tasted just like the cake my mom used to make. We also tried the Ice Box Lime Cake, which was fresh and light, and the warm oatmeal cookies, which were just pure cozy deliciousness. I even have to talk about the water! It was so refreshing and served at the perfect temperature. It might sound silly, but it really stood out to me. And our waiter, Mark—he was amazing. So kind and friendly, like someone you’ve known for years. He noticed we were struggling to take a photo and offered to snap one for us. When I mentioned how much I loved the water (yes, I really did), he made sure to keep my glass full all night. His little gestures made the night feel even more special. Salt of the Earth was by far the highlight of our trip to Lake Placid. Every part of the evening—from the flavors to the atmosphere to the kindness of the staff—made it unforgettable. I already can’t wait to come back.

Google
After a few disappointing meals in Lake Placid we found this absolute gem. Everything was spot on from the bread service to the dessert. The stand out dishes were the Golden Beetroot Cheesecake and the Grilled Heritage Pork chop cooked to perfection. The dining room was warm and inviting and service was fantastic, would highly recommend dining here

Google
We had a great dinning experience here, everything was phenomenal!!! If you're a foodie and respect well crafted food this is the place. The beetroot cheesecake appetizer was amazing never had anything like it before. We accidentally made reservations for salt of earth Michigan and they were so kind to accommodate our mistake. Would highly recommend.

Google
Food was creative and delicious, every course was excellent. We had 2 appetizers, the bread basket was bountiful and probably the best i'd ever had. All prices were reasonable and even considerably cheap for the portion and quality. Will be thinking about this meal for days.

Google
My girlfriend and I came up to Lake Placid for a weekend getaway in the wintertime. We had the absolute pleasure of having dinner at Salt of the Earth Bistro. The staff is incredibly welcoming and the servers are fantastic. The place fills up fast and rightly so. It’s the perfect spot for a date night with good food. The pan seared duck is the right amount of tender and flavorful. The salmon was incredibly delicious and was not dry. Kudos to the chef. Our dessert was a featured mango sorbet.

Google
The food and wine were absolutely delicious and great quality! Service was lovely as well. I was expecting my salmon filet to be a touch bigger for the $40 price but with the apps and desert it was certainly enough. One of my favorite spots in LP!

Google
Fifth time dining here over the last few years- always consistently great food and a really unique menu. The chef does a wonderful job keeping a menu with interesting proteins (often venison, bison, as well as usual things like salmon, beef, etc.) and also vegetarian dishes. Food is always cooked and prepared perfectly. They have a great wine menu too. Inside has a great, cozy ambiance. We never miss an opportunity to eat here while in LP!

Yelp
150% loved everything about our experience here! From the extremely charming ambience to the wonderful service (thanks Mark!), we were comfortable and happy even before the amazing food. For apps we had the Roasted Beet Root cheesecake (YES! Amazing!) and the Cactus Sunset Salad--incredible. The Salmon was perfectly cooked and delicious. as were the special Veal Porterhouse and the chocolate hazelnut Crostata for dessert. Wish we lived closer so we could come back again sooner!

Yelp
Over the last 20 or 30 years restaurants have come and gone. But over time the quality in Lake Placid, Saranac Lake and Tupper Lake has consistently risen. Many great choices. For fine dining each village has good options. For just good food they do as well. Tupper lake has Amado for the best culinary experience but the Wood Shed on Park is great and the Swiss Chalet is great diner food. In Saranac Lake the Left Bank, Fiddlehead and Sunset Bistro are excellent but don't miss the food at Bitters and Bones, the bowling alley and Blue Moon for breakfast and lunch. All that said, this is outstanding food and service. It is excellent in every way and has a fine wine list. If you can't get in, and you definitely should try, Cafe Rustica is a great option. Lake Placid has many other good choices but this is the best fine dining in town by far.

Yelp
Great service and food in a house converted to a restaurant. Highly recommend and note, it is expensive.

Yelp
I'm leaving this review now, in 2024, for a visit we made on December 31, 2019. Just before the pandemic hit. I didn't realize that I had not entered the review and we feel compelled to do so now- 4 years later. The New Year's Eve meal was delicious! The service was impeccable and friendly. The ambiance was wonderful for my family. Check out the pics- delicious! (Yes, we still had pics on our phone four years later). So glad we noticed the missed review for our visit.

Yelp
Salt of the Earth is an absolute gem. This feels like the food your grandmother spends all day making for you on a holiday. From the apps, to the entrees, to the dessert, we were blown away at the quality and flavor. The place itself is quaint and adorable as well. Staff were kind and knowledgeable about recommended cook times. Service was excellent as well. We will absolutely be back and you should add this to your list for your next Lake Placid trip.

Yelp
Everything was fresh, high quality & delicious. Our server was knowledgeable, enthusiastic about the food & attentive.

Yelp
This was a phenomenal dinner, our favorite in Lake Placid. I had come years ago when they first opened and was excited to come back. We ordered the crawfish etouffee, the ginger mocktail, salmon and lamb. Absolutely incredible. Our server, Mark, was also fantastic and shared many fun facts with us! For dessert, we ordered the back sesame dark chocolate tart. 15/10!!

Yelp
Visited lake placid for a few days and made sure we stopped to eat here based on their great reviews. This place did not disappoint! We also got the gnocchi dish with blue cheese and bacon, it was so delicious. My husband got the Prosecco cocktail which was similar to a mojito and very good. I like the interior a lot, there's a cheese grater chandelier and the register is on an old oven. Hard to judge the service because we came on an off season weeknight but we were taken care of very well and didn't waiting for anything. We def recommend this place to anyone visiting

Yelp
Outstanding food and ambiance, exceptional service and attention to detail. Excellent spot, highly recommend for a nice night out. Inventive menu with incredible food combinations and somehow still simple and not overdone. Absolutely go when in Lake Placid.

Yelp
Arrived on a chilly Lake Placid Monday. Couldn't get the door open because of the cold, but after knocking on the kitchen door we were promptly welcomed inside. Food was INSANELY GOOD! I ordered the swordfish filet which was the special of the day and my partner had the potato gnocchi. Hands down the best fish I've ever had in my life. I believe the menu changes quite frequently at this establishment, but the chef is AMAZING. Bathrooms hard to find.

Yelp
One of the best places to have dinner in the Adirondacks. The staff there really knows how to make the diners feel like they are honored guests. The menu leans middle eastern, prepared with farm fresh ingredients. An absolute must to make a rez way ahead of time. This is really a special restaurant.

Yelp
Amazing epicurean experience. Think alpine cozy space with James Beard level food. The wild boar chops were grilled perfectly and extremely tasty.Nice wine selection. Awesome service too. Must go again type place for us.

Yelp
Truly a gem in every sense of the word. From the eclectic appointments (including a 1950s stove as you enter the joint..) to the low volume 50s-60s oldies to the gracious well trained staff. A wonderful salad with a vinaigrette topped w toasted julienned almonds...heritage pork chop (medium done right w a cajun inspired dirty rice)..and a merlot. Oh also a rabbit mousse for good measure. This is not a backwards cap tourist joint that plagues a lot of Lake Placid...people in here are soft toned, the wait staff are professionally trained and gracious, I have been to some gems up in the Adirondacks like the Left Bank in Saranac Lake...but this one really is a fantastic experience...

Yelp
Such a special place. They do everything right! A very cozy setting in a charming house is very welcoming. Good wine selection... no liquor. We enjoyed the care the staff takes, how you are treated, and most of all the food.

Yelp
Go here!! AKA - call now & get your reservation!! Amazing food worth the price & a nice break from pub/bar food in town. It's a cute little renovated quirky house with only a few tables, but food is out of this world! Not far from Main Street but definitely a nice break from town. Also has a free private parking lot. We started with the bread plate & shrimp cakes. Everything was delicious, but the blue cheese/honey butter spread was addicting. The salmon entree was phenomenal! And I even was able to have the salmon cooked more on a rare side. It was so moist and delicious! The steak was also great (according to husband). My parents' reservation was actually here before our reservation (baby duty swap), and I texted my mom asking if a dress was appropriate or not. She said it would be an overkill, so I opted for jeans and boots! It's not fancy, but still definitely nice enough to where I would not be the guy that came in wearing flip flops ... like the guy last night. Don't get me wrong, I love flip flops but it's November. And he was no athlete coming from a sports practice either - haha. This was our best meal in Lake Placid. Hope you can make it part of your itinerary & enjoy!

Yelp
I was lucky enough to dine here and the meal was scrumptious, the staff excellent...a fabulous experience!

Yelp
Absolutely amazing! Mark was an incredible waiter and beyond helpful. We had an unbelievable meal and felt very catered to. Would recommend to anyone!

Yelp
We had a an amazing dinner here at this cozy bistro a few minutes drive from the hustle and bustle of Lake Placid's Main Street. Reservations recommended as they are a small place with attention to every detail. The servers were attentive without being intrusive. The food was amazing. We started with the artisanal bread basket that came with butter infused with blue cheese, olive oil & raspberry vinegar and a delicious roasted pepper dip. We moved on to the dill-liscious salad (yummy) and then I had the potato gnocchi of the day - handmade soft morsels in a creamy blue cheese sauce with bacon, spinach and dates. The portions were very generous and I ended up taking half of mine home in a lovely little compostable to go cup. My dinner companions had the duck breast and New York strip steak, respectively, both amazing with their accoutrements and perfectly cooked. We ended the meal with mango sorbet, warm chocolate chip cookies & a glass of port. Overall a wonderful dinner on our first night in Lake Placid! My only regret is that I was so busy enjoying dinner that I completely forgot to take pictures of the food! So, I've attached a photo of a little brochure they gave us at the end of the meal - it gives you an idea of how lovely the food was plated.

Yelp
This was our last night at Mirror Lake and we weren't sure what we were in the mood for. It's a Sunday night at 7:00 and we're trying to decide. This place scored highly on Yelp and Trip Advisor so we thought we'd try it. At 7:15 my wife called to see if we could still get a reservation and we were in luck- 8PM! It's off the main drag, in a cozy early-mid century house, according to our server, over the years was a farm house, b&b, and hostel. Now nicely renovated, the restaurant is celebrating its 5 years anniversary. No doubt it survived and is so successful because of the reputation of the chef and the taste and quality of the food. The decor is best described as eclectic and amusing. It was quiet and even somewhat romantic. The best part of a restaurant like this is that it has charm, personality, and only a dozen or so tables. Small enough that the chef can really control the quality. Refreshingly non-corporate. Now about the food! In a word fantastic. Just be sure to check the menu before you go, as it is somewhat limited and you might not care for some things (like venison). But keeping the entree selection limited also assures great quality. My wife and I shared the crab cake appetizer. 2 small crab cakes was good to share. We also ordered the bread, and it was delicious but way too much for just 2. Better for 3-4. I wish they had a half order at half the price. I loved the pork chop. Wifey had beef stroganoff (with a twist- over potatoes instead of the traditional noodles). She enjoyed it but likes her own better! Can't comment on the desert, too full-there was simply no room left. Anyway, give this place a try, you won't be disappointed. If my review helped you, let me know with a like or comment.

Yelp
This restaurant is AMAZING in every way! On a recent two-week vacation, this was the BEST restaurant my husband and I experienced. From the adorable and quirky decor to the friendly, attentive staff, they have found the recipe for a top-notch dining experience. And the food! Everything we ate was incredibly delicious. Even the coffee we ordered with dessert was extraordinary. Our only regret was that we weren't able to return a second time to try more of the items on the menu. If we lived in the area, we would be regulars!

Yelp
This is one of those "if I could give 1000000000000 stars I would" type of dining experiences. Holy moly - the best meal, ambience, and service I've experienced in a very long time. You have to venture past the ease of Main St to get to this spot, but it is absolutely walkable from town. We called for reservations and I would absolutely recommend this if you're able to plan ahead. The converted house has stylish decor, one of my favorite being the vintage oven they use for their POS system and refresh station. I also took a walk into the larger living room where they have a cute model Lake Placid and lots of framed photos. SO darling/cool/niche/curated - I was smitten. Our server was outstanding as she made recommendations and ensured we were enjoying everything throughout the duration of the meal. We went with a bottle of cab sauv that we were able to take with us back to the hotel when we were too full to finish LOL. We grabbed some Saratoga water as well (#CLASSY #SPARKLING)! We were totally overwhelmed by the menu, but ended up deciding on a salad to split, the infamous duck, and a life-changing special that was on, beef stroganoff over truffle mashed potatoes. When I tell you that every bite was somehow better than the last, I mean it! THIS SALAD. People. Almonds, white balsamic vinaigrette, grapes, berries, cheddar, mixed greens. Somehow the best salad I've ever had. I am not one to order beef stroganoff but the way the server spoke about it 100% sold me and I am SO GLAD she did. SO rich and delightful, my partner and I both did the awkward bite and moan and drop your fork after the first bite. The duck is as good as everyone says, not gamey with a yummy drizzle. PLEASE go out of your way to make this a top priority stop if you're visiting LP. Thank you to the entire team at Salt of the Earth Bistro for such a marvelous evening!

Yelp
Michelin level food in a quaint, home style restaurant. On my family vacation I decided to look for a nice place to eat at with a few family members (I made reservations weeks in advance). The restaurant very rarely takes walk-ins and I highly recommend making a reservation. They don't do online reservations and only take bookings via telephone calls directly. I was able to secure a reservation for one of the few openings they still had. Upon first entry the restaurant is a repurposed home and it is incredibly quaint and cozy. The staff is incredibly friendly and the waitress was very knowledgeable of all the dishes whilst being personable. We started by ordering the bread plate appetizer which included oil and vinegar, butter etc. with a side of the tomato soup. The bread was fresh, warm and delicious and paired incredibly well by dipping into the tomato soup which was hearty and had a nice bit of spice that added heat. The pacing of the waitress bringing out our main dishes was perfect. Nothing felt rushed, but it didn't feel like we waited an excess amount between meals. For our main course we ordered the venison stew and the pan seared duck breast. The venison stew was delicious, rich and can only be described as comfort food in its purest form. Super balanced with a wonderful sweetness reminiscent of a winter time chili without being super heavy. The pan seared duck breast was absolutely stellar in every regard. It's been awhile since a dish truly wowed me and this one had me feeling as if I was sitting in a 3 Michelin starred restaurant. The duck was nicely sliced with the fat beautifully rendered. Laid out on top of a pea purée and green beans. I found myself chewing each piece for much longer than I would any piece of meat as the fat would release more and more flavor as I chewed. This was a real treat and a dish that will be talked about by me for a very long time. To finish the night, we decided to indulge in a dessert and went with the peach cobbler ice cream. It was sweet, inviting and had a lovely homemade whipped cream quennelle on top that I found myself being obsessed with. Not one member of our party had anything but positive things to say about or meal and it became the topic of conversation for the remainder of our night. With no exaggeration, I would drive hours to enjoy a meal like that again. I love everything about Salt of the Earth Bistro and will be back again next year for my annual trip.

Yelp
We had the most incredible dinner here today. It's a cozy little dining room, but does not feel cramped. Our server was very helpful and just overall lovely. Good wine list, we enjoyed the bottle of Austrian red that we ordered very much. The menu was very interesting and what we got was so delicious - rabbit pâté, duck, vindaloo. I was actually so impressed by the perfect cook on the duck, but also the lentils and the cauliflower. Every single item was cooked to perfection, it was truly outstanding.

Yelp
Phenomenal food, great service, amazing atmosphere. Well worth the prices! Definitely make a reservation for this place if you're visiting Lake Placid.

Shanghaishaman S.

Yelp
So thankful for Salt of the Earth - phenomenal food, incredible flavors, perfectly prepared, and uncompromising in quality. I was only able to dine here one night and wish I didn't check out other places on my previous days. Place is super cozy and cute as well. Will definitely be back.

Yelp
Super cozy bistro with eclectic decor, great service, and divine food! A gem in this area and definitely can compete with my faves in NYC. Bread is a must order if you're a carb lover - perfectly fluffy, warm, crispy crust, with 3 spreads (herby olive oil and balsamic, garlic butter YUM, and a red pepper? spread) Ethiopian shrimp app was perfectly cooked and tasty, a bit more spicy than I originally expected so warning for anyone who can't handle spice. The duck and salmon entrees were delicious, again cooked perfectly and generous portions. Desserts - coconut cake is so light and spongy, with honeycomb crumble on top - perfect for anyone who loves desserts that aren't too sweet. Coconut flavor is subtle, not overpowering. Vegan chocolate chip cookies were also great, you wouldn't be able to guess that they were vegan. Recommend reserving in advance if you're coming on a weekend! Would definitely eat here again. Best food we had all weekend.

Jeff L.

Yelp
This is a foodie's paradise! Simple but sweet atmosphere. Chef Andrea creates food for the soul, and Liz presents it in a prefectly balanced friendly, attentive manner. This was an unexpected treat! The food was creative and delicious, while the service was literally perfect. It felt like we went to a friend's house and a Michelin rated chef showed up! Kudos ladies, truly well done! I highly recommend and look forward to coming back to Lake Placid, because this is the first place I will visit! Thank you both! Jeff

Yelp
I loved this place. Went here with a group of 4 others and we all ordered different things, and we all loved them. Service was great, food was great. What else can you ask for? I had the pork chop with smash potatoes and green beens and loved it all. I've been to Lake Placid more times than I can remember and had never been here before, but will certainly be back next time I'm in town.

Yelp
I came here with my boyfriend while on a weekend trip in Lake Placid. The restaurant is very charming and resembles a friends house. We got the bread basket and it was the perfect appetizer-it comes with 3 different spreads. I got the venison stew for my entree and it was amazing, I definitely recommend it!

Yelp
Gem off Main Street! 5mins drive from Main Street Lake Placid. Must eat if you're visiting Lake Placid Food 5/5 Delicious! Fusion between African, Asian, Mediterranean and French. Every dish were unique and sumptuous. My personal fav were the carrot and parsnip hummus did and the duck! Cooked to perfection. The mud pie is a must to finish the meal. Vegan and vegetarian options available. Ambiance 5/5 Best ambiance at Lake Placid for a romantic night out. Cozy, dim lighting and great atmosphere. Spaced out properly as covid precaution. Service 5/5 Friendly and helpful. Everyone was wearing a mask. Call ahead and make sure you reserve due to reduced covid capacity

Yelp
Found this spot while searching for dinner places while in Lake Placid and was NOT dis-appointed. The food was excellent, however service was a little bit disappointing and thus the 4 star rating. After our food was served we kind of lost our server and the other server finally checked on us. Pre-occupied our server with other stuff - I noticed the other server had two tables in our area and kept checking laughing and talking to the patrons, ours just took order and kinda placed food on table and left. However based on food, I would return. Ethiopian Spicy Shrimp Berbere spiced shrimp served with jollof rice and a creamy peanut butter sauce $12 was excellent, was a little concerned over flavor but this was excellent. Summer Solstice Salad, Spinach & arugula, feta, quinoa, corn, red onion and hazelnuts and plum dressing Half. $7. Shared the half and it was also very good. Spouse enjoyed her Grilled Faroe Island Salmon, Served with warm tomato, leek and mustard French green lentil salad and lemon, caper sauce $30. Swordfish special was excellent. Juicy and was very good. Overall a nice evening and felt OK regarding their COVID practices.

AJ A.

Yelp
Very good food and service. The cod is impressive. Duck please order medium rare. See my photos attached.

Kimberly F.

Yelp
Four stars for the food but two stars for the atmosphere. They boast about being a quiet venue and they even have a rule for children and infants, 'if they are too loud and the parents cannot quiet them they will be asked to leave'. Our evening began with a nice glass of rose and great salads until... they seated two couples next to us who were playing a game, singing with bursts of laughter so loud we couldn't enjoy our meal or our conversation. We mentioned this to the server, she apologized and suggested if we were going to have dessert we could have it in the next room. Why should we have had to move to enjoy our dessert? We mentioned it again to the server and all she did was apologize. Apologies don't change behavior--their policy should include adults behavior. Leaving very disappointed...

Yelp
Best fine dining in Lake Placid. Duck is absolutely amazing. Save room for dessert. Restaurant is small so plan ahead.

Liz A.

Yelp
The bread platter took me to another planet. I ate about 6 slices of bread because I couldn't get enough of the butter of the day. It was so fresh. My boyfriend ordered the pork chop and loved the pineapple fried rice that came with it. We also got the peanut butter pie for dessert. It was so light and creamy. We loved it. What a great meal. we left very happy!!

Richard D.

Yelp
Perhaps best food and eating experience in Lake Placid. No weak link here. Apps entries service. Duck is amazing. Wine selection not too costly.

Yelp
Outstanding! Adorable place. Very cozy and welcoming. Staff exceeded expectations- just incredibly friendly. Not only made excellent and appreciated recommendations for the food but split our dishes as we said we were sharing. Also have us some great tips for the area. We had the soup that my partner devoured. I had a half salad that was just the right start. Then we had the stuffed peppers. This was my absolute favorite. The flavors were layer perfectly!!!! We also had the wild boar spring rolls. Yummy! Then for our entree we split the cauliflower and tofu curry dish. Clearly (based on the starters) we are not veg but it sounded great and it was!!! Really creative and earthy. Finally we got the salted carmel dessert. It was good. But paled in comparison to the meal. We are still in town and actually plan to go back. The chef and the staff really deliver.

Yelp
Nice service, great social distancing practice, super friendly and helpful servers, interesting food. I have no expectation of a fine dining experience at this little town but this place made it happen! We had to make a reservation 5 days ahead as this place was quite popular! Atmosphere: great for friend gathering and dating! Ambiance is very peaceful and romantic. Food: we tried a few dishes. Ethiopian spicy shrimp: this is the most spicy dish I ever had outside Asian cuisine. The taste is very interesting. It's spicy but not only spicy, there's also some refreshing green taste mingled in there: the rice comes with it had garlic in it, which adds a new layer of taste. Seared duck breast: I can't have medium rare at the moment so opt for well done. It's good, but a little stiff, but this is mostly because I didn't go for medium rare. The side are so delicious! The green bean is cooked so well which sits on my favorite grains: farro!! Venison stew: the best venison stew I had remained to be at one fine dining restaurant in downtown Toronto near St George street, but that could well be because it was winter and all you need was warm stew. This one came on top of corn grits, in it there were kidney beans. It says spicy and sweet but it came to me most with sweet, maybe the shrimp starter numbed my tongue. Coconut cake: i'm not sure whether they blend the coconut into the flour that made up the cake, certainly tasty, the cream on top is amazing.

Yelp
What you call a real "salt of the earth restaurant." If your tired of just the regular going out food and want some homely and cooked as if a private chef cooked it for you This is the place. The seating is very nice with old wooden tables and a great decor throughout the restaurant, they serve beer and wine but no liquor, so bring your flask! Great service as well! Started off with the rabbit spaetzle which was everything you want in a spaetzle. It had rich flavor and the creamy cheesy tender thickness of the dish was fantastic. A real hearty starter that would win the first round of Chopped all day. The strip steak was cooked extremely well, it's easy to over cook strip steak but my medium rare request came out seared perfectly with all the juices inside. Each bite was a pop of flavor right in mouth. PAH POW! The steak came with green beans and baby potatoes chopped. I have never had green beans that crispy before which was a perfect compliment to the steak. I wasn't to crazy about the potatoes, half of them were under cooked. The almond pie for desert, so rich thick salty chocolatey and perfect. Also the whipped cream topping and raspberry sauce were fantastic. I would highly recommend! Other than that, perfect presentation of each dish, very well done with a clean white plate and dragged sauces across the dish! I give it a 5 of 5 for the food, taste, presentation and service but a 4 of 5 for overall experience. For the price of a entree a salad and bread should come with your meal and the potatoes needed to be equally cooked. But if your looking to spend a good dime and go to a great place with real food and great tastes this is your place to go in the Lake Placid area, you wasted your time if you went to any other restaurant on the strip instead of Salt if the Earth.

Yelp
Another great experience with great food and company. The only way that it could have been better is if I was able to personally meet Pickles and Frankie!!!

Yelp
The food at Salt of the Earth is phenomenal! Everything from the drink I ordered to the appetizer, entree and dessert is worth mentioning. I rarely order dessert but as everything else was so fantastic I thought If ever im going to, now is the time. The service was great. The space is both quirky and classy at the same time. Highly recommend.

Yelp
Not only was the food amazing, but we enjoyed the relaxed atmosphere and appreciated the safety measures in place to help fight COVID. The tables were spaced more than 6 ft apart and all staff wore masks correctly. The breads and spreads appetizer was very good. All ingredients were fresh and tasty. The full size salad was more than enough to be a full meal. The veal dish was excellent.

Yelp
Our favorite restaurant this trip! I had swordfish and my husband had the pork chop dish. Both were delicious. Our server, Colleen, was delightful as well as attentive. She explained that the chef is also the owner. The ambiance is charming. There aren't a lot of tables, and we had trouble getting a reservation, so call early!

Yelp
A full three stars, maybe 3+. It's a small converted house; it doesn't look like a restaurant. Staff was super-friendly and knowledgeable. I had the Cuban Jackfruit stew -- very tasty. Something different and it was good. I recommend it. My wife had the special -- mahi mahi. She cleaned the plate. Very tasty. Clearly the chef here has a lot of imagination and knows what he/she is doing. Bread pudding dessert was great. And....we finally found a hearty, hot cup of coffee in Lake Placid! So, overall: Friendly, simple, unique, small place. Good food, served hot and quickly. Worth a try, for sure.

Yelp
Food was very good. Cool space - an old house. Good service. Worth going off the beaten path for this place.
