Adore it's Atmosphere – The San Francisco–Oakland Bay Bridge stretches ~7km across San Francisco Bay, carrying Interstate 80 between Yerba Buena Island and Oakland. Its original double-deck steel truss was joined in 2013 by a new eastern span – a single-tower, self-anchored suspension bridge engineered for seismic resilience. Over 280 sensors monitor strain, motion, and temperature, making it one of the most instrumented bridges in the world.

Maybe not as iconic as the red painted Golden Gate Bridge but still a stunning piece of engineering. most of the ferry trips give great views of the bridge for photographers and tourists.

Another great drive from Oakland to SF. Not that iconic but very picturesque of downtown SF, the Alcatraz and other islands. Love it when driven during sunset or sunrise.

East side superior collection of Chinese made steel at questionable pricing makes some of us nostalgic for west side storied US American/Bethlehem Steel? One of these days I'll yERbA some buenA to ísla de Treasure 🪙 island but so far, nope :/ Should there be a eastboUNd toll now that there's no need for toll infrastructure on the eastbound approaches? ;) sORry yes i am aware the included distant aerial Alcatraz+ pic has no Bay Bridge nOR 🌉 in it, you're complaining? ;)

With all the reviews I have written, I haven't reviewed a bridge before. It's true this bridge is beautifully done. With revisions and teardowns and all, it turned out to be very impressive. We went over it today in the pouring rains and we made it to and other side without much of a problem. The improved hwy 80 on the Oakland side has helped with the flow of traffic going southward over the bridge. No cash lanes have sped up traffic. All's good going with the bay bridge!

Great for photography during the day or night! This unique bridge design is due to the South direction of traffic being being on top and North being on the bottom, and is ultimately rare around the world.

The Bay Bridge in SF is stunning, especially at night with its LED light display. It connects SF to Oakland and offers amazing skyline views. Often less touristy than the Golden Gate, but just as iconic. A must-see for architecture and city lovers!
