"This gorgeous bakery also serves a mean sit-down breakfast. Highlights include poached eggs with prosciutto and arugula on an English muffin with Hollandaise sauce, a Belgium omelette with black beans, and a cup of oats with almond milk. Add on a basket of freshly baked bread just because you can." - Courtney E. Smith

"An out-of-the-way Uptown block facing the peaceful expanse of Greenwood Cemetery might be an unlikely place for a world-class brunch, but San Martin Bakery & Cafe, a soaring temple to Guatemalan pan dulce was never going to remain any kind of secret—it's just too much fun. Come for a quick cafe con leche from the bar, to fill your basket with reasonably priced breads and pastries, or for a full breakfast (you can choose from a wealth of seating arrangements). There's nothing quite like this place, in Dallas or beyond." - David Landsel

"San Martin Bakery, a Guatemalan sweet shop known for its perfectly flaky pastries, will soon open its doors in Uptown Dallas. The bakery will arrive in the coming weeks at 3120 McKinney Avenue, according to its Twitter account, bringing a brand new destination for coffee, croissants, bread, sandwiches and more to the neighborhood. Founded in 1974, San Martin Bakery operates nearly 40 locations across Guatemala and El Salvador, where its earned a loyal following for its pastelitos, empanadas, palmeritas, and French breads. In addition to the pastries, San Martin Bakery will also serve a menu of sandwiches, salads, soups, and of course, burgers. The bakery’s cold brew coffee is reportedly famous, and a menu of boozy options like sangria will also be on offer. Assuming that the Dallas location is like San Martin’s other outposts, expect for it to become an all-day destination in Uptown. Uptown will have to wait a couple more months for the arrival of San Martin Bakery — it’s expected to open in “mid to late” July. Stay tuned for an official opening date." - Amy McCarthy

Valentine’s brunch, had the salvadoreño and white chocolate latte. My dish was very simple but tasty and the latte was not overly sweet and the perfect temperature. They give you a little basket of sweet bread to snack on while the food is prepared. Food came out quick and the service was excellent. Took some bread from their bakery to go! There’s only valet parking available and the restaurant was VERY busy. Fortunately, I found off street parking next to the cemetery on Oak Grove.

This place is excellent. I’m not really a brunch person but this place will make you change your mind. Very spacious from the inside, and the food is really good as well. Had the Salmon Eggs Benedict and it did not disappoint. Ask for hot sauce, the house made sauce has the perfect kick that will complement whatever savory dish you ordered. The coffee is great as well. Spanish Latte and Cappuccino are great options

Semi-hidden gem in uptown, great food and the bakery treats are delicious. Love their little breads they give the table. Grab reservations if you want to go at a popular time, especially on the weekend. Coffee is fairly yummy, I liked the red velvet seasonal one! Pancakes were fluffy!

This place was perfect for just 1 or a group! I had Nutella and banana pancakes. The pancakes are a win, but it was not just the taste. The quality of the pancake was a delight, the bace batter was fluffy and had a good flavor. I imagine any of their pancakes would be a good decision. I almost got the chilaquiles it looked really good and I was told it was a very popular dish. My waitress was very nice, she was super patient with me. I have never been there and I didn't know what I wanted to eat, yet dispite the busy atmosphere I did not feel rushed!

The food and drinks were very good. Our waiter was very attentive and friendly. I ordered the traditional sampler, the bracelet mimosa with raspberry (comes with an artisinal handmade bracelet, which is very cool). I also had a red velvet latte which was very pretty and delicious. I also tried the panela cheese sticks, which were so good with the dipping sauce especially. The desserts were so delicious too.

The restaurant was decorated cute for the holiday season. I had the traditional breakfast which was good. I like the assorted breads. Valet is free with tips accepted. I'll have to come back and try the baked goods.
