The 25 Best Restaurants & Bars In Bellevue

"The only thing worse than showing up to a work potluck with a mystery casserole is showing up empty-handed. Instead, arrive with a box full of Japanese milk bread sandwiches from Sandwich House Tres. While these crustless triangles look almost too perfect to eat, don’t let that stop you from attempting to buy the place out. The fluffy egg salad would be a hot commodity on the school lunch trading market, especially when that same filling is dolloped on top of a fried shrimp cutlet with cabbage. For something sweet, the fruit sandwiches are just as good. They sell out quickly, so be sure to get here before 10am. " - aimee rizzo, kayla sager riley, gabe guarente

The Best Japanese Food in Seattle

"Sandwich House TRES in Bellevue focuses primarily on doing one thing and doing it right: beloved crustless sandwiches made with soft and spongy white bread. This sparse spot does bustling to-go business, offering an extensive sandwich menu featuring four “zones”: meat, seafood, vegetable, and fruit/sweet. It’ll take two sandwiches to fill most diners; make one a pork cutlet." - Jay Friedman, Eater Staff

20 Restaurants Showcasing the Eastside’s Multicultural Dining Scene

"The shokupan sandwiches at Minako Matsumura and Makoto Ogasawara’s Lake Hills shop come with an enormous range of fillings. The gobo salad is sweet and earthy; the creamy sesame chicken tastes like a familiar chicken salad with a hint of toastiness from the sesame; and the Exotic Japan dessert sando with matcha cream, strawberries, and adzuki bean is a seamless mix of savory and sweet — nutty, fruity, light, and bitter. The sandwiches range from $4 to $6 each, so order at least two. TRES is open for takeout dining, and special orders can be placed the day before." - Brett Bankson, Eater Staff

A variety of Japanese sandwiches made fresh daily. They run out fast if you don’t pre-order the day before!

If I were EPIK HIGH, I would eat here.

Google
Fun sandwich shop! Great variety! Service was fast, friendly and knowledgeable about ingredients. The sandwiches were tasty, eating the savory first then the sweet. If you want speciality sandwiches found on the website, order 24 hrs in advance so they can make them during their production time. Sandwiches were decently priced and filling. Can't wait to come back soon!!

Google
Really really really good sandwiches. Our favorites are the following: 1. Okonomiyaki 2. Miso Katsu 3. Mango Cream Honorable mentions: - Fried Shrimp - Crispy Chicken Participation trophy: - Crab Croquette The only one we didn’t like: - Matcha Strawberry Too sweet, especially with the adzuki bean. It might have been good if it was just strawberry and matcha cream. 2 sandwiches per person, 3 if you’re particularly hungry or just eat a lot, like me! I was in Seattle for 5 days and we came here twice. Once was to take sandwiches on a hike, which was perfect. I was worried the mango cream wouldn’t survive the ascent but it lasted well! The second was our last lunch before my flight. I took extras on the plane and they were delicious.

Went to check out Tres around 1pm and was surprised they didn’t have much left in stock. It made sense that it’s popular after trying it out for the first time! I ordered the chicken cutlet, miso katsu, and strawberry sandwiches as well as a coffee jelly. The miso katsu was my favorite out of the two savory sandwiches. I really liked the flavor of the miso sauce, I wish they had an option for a chicken katsu with the miso. The chicken sandwich was still good but I probably would’ve liked the spicy version more if it was available. The cream in the strawberry sandwich was soo yummy! Can’t wait to go back to get more of those. The employees and service were great. They were fast, super friendly and enthusiastic.

Google
Nut allergy friendly: There are clearly some sandos with nuts, like the peanut butter jelly sandwich, but most do not have any and the ingredients are clearly identified for each if you ask during purchase. According to my local Seattle friend, it is a tradition to take a few sandos on moderately long hikes to enjoy at the summit, so that is what we do (or whenever we're at a convention, or...just want some sandos while I'm in town). Sandos are generally $6-$8. The prices are found in the display cabinet. Service is really fast; sandwiches are pre-made and there are two registers zipping people through. I've had a few sandos from here in the past, usually their pork katsu or the standard ham. They're pretty solid. I recently got the fried cod sandwich and although it is relatively mayo heavy, I thought it was one of their best ones and would definitely get it again. One sando is a nice light lunch and you could definitely eat two or even three on a hike or if you're doing something that makes an appetite. Great little sando spot. Lot of options. Quick service. No complaints.

My wife and I recently returned from our honeymoon in Japan and sought out a sandwich shop that could replicate the delightful experience we had there. We were pleased to find a local establishment that offered friendly customer service and a welcoming atmosphere. The shop features a wide variety of sandwich options, ensuring there’s something for everyone. However, it's worth noting that the availability of sandwiches can vary depending on the time of day, as items are sold on a first-come, first-served basis. Additionally, while the selection of meats is generally good, some portions may be smaller than expected. Overall, visiting this sandwich shop brings back fond memories of our time in Japan.

Google
Delicious sandwiches! There are so many fun options to try. My fav so far is the miso katsu. My only complaint is that the filling is concentrated in the front center of the sandwich. I had 3-4 bites of just bread, but the bread is tasty! I'm not sure if this is done on purpose, but I wish the filling was spread out more evenly. Other than that, so yummy!! Very friendly people, the line moves fast!

Google
Delicious... I have no complaints. Bread was fresh, even the katsu (it was crispy). Perhaps warming it up would have been even better. The strawberry sandwich was perfect in terms of sweetness mixed with the strawberry. This was a great snack. Recommend both, actually.

Google
Amazing Japanese style sandwiches! Bought the miso katsu, matcha strawberry, chocolate strawberry, blazing chicken and pork katsu sandwiches. All of them were delicious and just right. I especially loved the pork katsu one though. It tasted exactly like the ones you could get in Japan. One thing to note- if you are going there, make sure to go as early as you can (8-830 am) because the sandwiches sell out fast! Coffee jelly was really delicious too and not too sweet or overpowering. I haven’t tried the drinks but they look great. The general prices are really affordable too. Overall, this is one of the best sandwich places in Bellevue and I will definitely be back!

Yelp
This one has been on our list to try since sometime. Beautiful looking sandwiches, lots of variety. Japanese style. Lots of options for meat eaters, a couple for vegetarians and one vegan option too. What we tried: Savory Egg cucumber - delicious! Fire curry chicken - my husband loved it! Strawberry cheesecake - pretty good Strawberry cream pie - sooooo goood!! The strawberries have a nice flavor and slight crunch to it. I went around 10 am and they had most of the flavors available. It's packed and ready to pick. You can also order online a day before for pickup.

Yelp
I go way back with Tres, perhaps one of their first loyal customers! Tres was around the block from where I worked, so I would either stop by before work or during lunch to pick up the goodies! Back then, I remembered when the "Smoked Salmon" came out, I really wanted to try it, but did not like the cream cheese, the owner came out and said he would customize it for me and named it after me! - Helen's smoked salmon! thank you! My all time favs were - Egg salad, fried shrimp, matcha ichigo, PBNJ, baked apple with custard. They recently added sushi egg, which became one of my favorite as well! Buying a loaf of the 6 piece thick cut Tres Bread is always a must! Their bread is always so fresh and soft. They don't add much preservatives as if the bread is left too long, it'll start to mold!

Yelp
I have been by about four time and it's usually either packed or out of sandwiches by the time I get there! Definitely recommended getting there somewhat early if you want to get anything popular! We love the bouncy bread! We got the egg salad sandwich. Always a go to for us! Tasty and filled well! No extra surprises like relish or pickled in the egg salad. 4/5 Sesame chicken was good! Lots of flavor but the chicken is to bread ratio was not great. I probably got two full bites of chicken before the rest was bread. 3/5 Shrimp cutlet was pretty good, nice flavor but similar with it being light on the actual insides and mostly bread 3.5/5 We usually get the strawberries and cream (4.5/5) but tried the ube today! Not overly sweet but a little grainy. The ube was the purple sweet potato powder mix mixed with whipped cream. I personally wasn't a fan of the beans also being in there but I can understand why people would like it. 2.5/5

Yelp
Stopped by here after a slightly disappointing lunch somewhere else. What a delightful little grab and go place. Had just been to Japan in October this year and was so reminiscent. The coffee jelly os affordable and tasty. Wide variety of sandwiches to select from. I went with the Tres Special for dinner later. It had half each of ham cucumber, potato salad and egg salad. Bread was soft and ingredients flavorful. Service was friendly and helpful. Space contains mostly pastry cabinets, an area to grab napkins and whatever else you may need. Located in a strip mall parking available.

Yelp
tl;dr - big sandwich selection, wait can be long, often runs out of popular sandwiches The sandwiches here are have Japanese cuisine fillings, from katsu to egg salad. All sandwiches are on a soft white bread that has crust cut off and is diagonally cut into two halves. The wait can be really long in the late morning so I would suggest going earlier. Popular flavors can also run out by then. Service is fast and the staff is friendly and efficient. Favorite flavors for me are: 1. Shrimp cutlet - breaded and fried shrimp patty with a katsu sauce and shredded cabbage 2. Egg Salad - nice thick layer of lightly seasoned egg salad 3. Strawberry and cream - sliced strawberry and whip cream

Yelp
Still enjoying their sandwiches! Tried their new Ube sandwich and what a treat! It's right amount of sweetness. This last visit, I got the Shrimp Cutlet, Miso Katsu, and Ube. Staff is always friendly and helpful. And unless you go when they first open, they're always busy. This last visit, they're celebrating their 10th anniversary. If you spend at least $20, you to spin a wheel for prizes -- merchandise, gift card, etc. Happy anniversary Tres Sandwich! Wishing you continued success!

Yelp
The food is absolutely amazing it's my first time here and I'm writing a review. This place is utterly god tier. The service impeccable and the cashier and chef are soooooo so nice as well!! The ambiance of the store gives cute little cafe and i absolutely love it. I wish they were closer but busing out here or lifting out here is so worth it!!!!

Yelp
Yummy yummy traditional Japanese sandwiches on the softest bread with the crusts already cut off. They have a variety of sweet and savory but the strawberry with whipped cream is a classic that can't be beat! The simplicity of it is perfection! I tried it also with custard and while it was good, didn't like that quite as much. Egg salad was also quite nice. Sandwiches are like $5-7 each and a great deal! They would be a perfect picnic pick up!

Yelp
I think the savory sandwiches here are 3.5 stars, but the dessert sandwiches are 4.5 :). I came around noon on a weekday, and they were almost sold out of all of their sandwiches. I really wanted to try the black sesame, but didnt get the chance to. I tried the miso katsu, pork katsu, fried cod, and creamy crab. I also tried the strawberry sandwich as a dessert one. The miso katsu was by far the best, but I think the coldness of all of them threw me off a little. It worked the best for the cod one as it had tartar sauce. The regular katsu was a little dry, and the crab was way too soft and mayo-ey. I will say the strawberry sandwich was fantastic, and Ill still have to be back to try the red bean matcha and black sesame!

Yelp
The best sandwiches in Seattle. They make their own bread in house. I've never had a bad sandwich here, and service is also very nice. Here are my favorites: * Blazin' Sesame Chicken * Chicken cutlet * Egg salad * Potato Salad * Matcha Ichigo Also, don't sleep on the coffee jelly - it's the perfect amount of sweetness and coffee flavor. You can also pre-order sandwiched ahead of time to avoid the long line and have the best selection because they don't sell all the sandwiches in store unless pre-ordered.
google avatar

Lucy C.

Yelp
Such sweet staff and the sandwiches are always made fresh and super yummy! I've tried almost all of them because I come here every Tuesday and usually get a large order. I also like how they sell $1 crust. It used to be free but $1 for crust pieces is still a great deal! Thank you for making such delicious sandwiches!

Yelp
Not sure how my wife stumbled upon this place, but so glad that she did! I had low expectations going there today. Got there about 1.5 hours before closing, and sandwiches were running low. I guess they make the sandwiches early in the morning, and whatever is in the display cases is what's being sold for the day. I saw that you could place an online order, but it requires 24 hours notice. And I'm also guessing that you'd have a lot more choices in what you can pre-order. Anyway, my in-store experience was fantastic. It's a tiny little place, but very charming. There are a few ladies that work behind the counter, and they are super friendly. When we got there today, there were about 3 families in front of us. Inventory was running low, but there was still a decent selection of sandwiches left. We ordered 3 strawberry and cream sandwiches, the tres sandwich, and a miso katsu. Also ordered two coffee jelly desserts. The sandwiches were delicious! I especially loved the miso katsu. The katsu was surprisingly crunchy, and had fantastic flavor. The strawberry and cream sandwich was like a little dessert. And the tres sandwich was a bit of a surprise as well...there were 3 halves of sandwiches: egg salad, cucumber, and ham/something. All three of them tasted great. We saved the coffee jelly for later. For me, the coffee jelly was okay. It comes in a small cup, and looks like there is some sort of milk or cream sitting on top. The coffee jelly on its own tasted a bit burned, but mixed with the milk/cream, it tasted so much better. It was not an overly sweet dessert, so it's just the way I like it. Overall, I was very impressed with this place and will definitely return.

Yelp
They specialize in Japanese-inspired sandos with various savory and sweet fillings. To be brutally honest, it is NOT exactly the same as the ones you get in Japan but it sure is the closest you can get without having to take a 10 hour flight to Japan. I'm being picky, but the difference is mostly in the softness of the bread and the attention to detail (a lot of the sandwiches will still have part of the crust). With that out of the way, I will say that this is a gem of a place! I've only gone during lunch time (around 12pm) on a weekday and I've never encountered a wait. During this time, they will typically run out of the more popular sandos but still with decent selection left. My go to is their strawberries and cream sando and the curry chicken sando. My ONLY gripe is that I wish they would put in more filling! See photo below: The chicken piece was so small that it only filled less than half of the sandwich :( It is similar for the sweet fillings too. Please change this!!
google avatar

Nicole S.

Yelp
This store is truly one of a kind and I can't wait to come back. There are so many choices and it's super popular so get there early, or you might not get what you want. It's a small shop with a glass shelved case full of savory and sweet sando. I ordered the Tempura Shrimp Cutlets Katsu Sando and the Strawberry Oreo Sando, but unfortunately I think it was too busy so I ended up with just a regular Strawberry Sando instead. I will definitely come back and hopefully will get a chance to get to try that Sando or something even more fun!
google avatar

Erin W.

Yelp
I have been coming here for delicious Japanese sandwiches for years! Always enjoyed the variety of flavors. Today I picked up the order of 3 sandwiches - pork cutlet, shrimp cutlet, and loco moco for my friends and myself. My friends both loved the sandwiches so much and confirmed they would come back again. Parking was easy as there was a parking lot. If you order online, you can go directly to the counter without waiting in line. You often get a text message when the order is ready for pick up. Often times they would have people lining up outside of the store. The sandwiches do get sold out so if you go there late, you might not have as many options available. The store is only for to-gos, no eat-in. It is clean and has many on the wall.
google avatar

Ashley C.

Yelp
Always fresh and such a great selection! I placed an online order early this morning and misread the pickup date. Not only did they accommodate an earlier pickup, but they were very responsive via email. If this place were closer to my house, I'd be here every week!

Yelp
A great place to get a variety of Japanese sandwiches (sandos) made with delicious milk bread, in the Seattle/Bellevue area. My biggest learning about Japanese sandos is that because it uses a slightly sweet, super soft, milk bread, it 1) has fillings that would only be served hot in American sandwiches 2) sweet fillings like whipped cream and strawberries can work well since the bread serves more like a cake. If you like cold fried chicken and cold pizza just as much as it heated up, you would like the delicate sandwiches here. (oh, if you like the famous cucumber sandwiches during English tea time...same concept here...and of course the egg salad sandwich has a direct correlation). They are all cut in half diagonally, and the crust is cut off the bread. The space for customers in the store is small, and it is strictly carry-out. And it was a continuous stream of customers coming in, ordering, paying, and leaving on a Saturday lunchtime. The workers were all very pleasant and efficient. All the sandwiches are stacked together in display cases, and are all individually wrapped with a pull tab method to open. Prices are good (at least for the West Coast..ranging from $4.50 to $6.50), giving one the opportunity to try a couple of sandwiches if variety is what you want. My brother has had hundreds of sandos during his long stay in Japan, and he said the pork cutlet sandwich compared favorably with the ones in Japan. It's a nice selection, with mixing of different ethnic foods (e.g. couple of the sandwiches were Indian curry flavor, another was the BLT). And the two dessert sandwiches (strawberry cream and premium mango) were very good.
google avatar

Long K.

Yelp
Finally made my way here, to try out some sandwiches. It's a small shop without much interior aside from a showcase of the Japanese inspired sandwiches, so really it's a grab and go type of place. The Shrimp Cutlet was easily my favorite, but it's annoying when 1/3 of the sandwich is filled, while the other 2/3 is bread. The Fire Curry Chicken was really good too and as expected. Pass on the Creamy Crab Croquette which was too flavorless and bland. The Strawberry Cheesecake is a refreshing to end the meal, close enough to a cheesecake-like flavor. There are food allergies in the household so I appreciate the ingredients/allergens being listed on the packing. Overall I'm impressed with the menu variety and will need to return to try out more.
google avatar

Chara C.

Yelp
The perfect little triangles. soft, uncrusted japanese white bread, and flavorful fillings all around. A simple childhood meal refined into something more elegant and elevated. Some sandos are a little pricey but there's not much competition to these anywhere, so they get to set the bar (and it's pretty hard to beat with it's upscale simplicity). The Strawberry sandwich is as you'd expect - fluffy with fresh cream. The Miso Katsu I threw in the microwave for a solid 30 seconds and that made all the difference for me - it's delicious cold but I prefer it warm; it just makes it that much better.
google avatar

Tammy L.

Yelp
Can't fly to Japan to eat the viral tamago sando? All good, just head over to Tres. They have a huge selection of Japanese sweet and savory sandwiches made on their fresh white bread. They've been around for awhile and have always been very consistent with their sandwiches. I appreciate having an authentic Japanese food shop in the neighborhood and being able to expose my Japanese American kiddos to their food. They also have yummy pudding and coffee jelly options.
google avatar

Roger V.

Yelp
I was in the area looking for apartments for the week and saw this place close to my hotel. I am so happy I have it a shot as I have always been interested in trying the strawberry sandwiches I've seen on YouTube. The ladies were all very friendly and gave me good advice when picking out my sandwiches. I had a Strawberry, Bulgogi, and a Crispy Chicken with not a single miss in the bunch. I will definitely be back once I finally make my move in a couple of weeks.
google avatar

Sophia C.

Yelp
Yummy sandwiches and a wide selection to choose from! This is now my go-to spot for sandwiches in the Eastside. I tried the Miso Katsu, TRES special, Fire Curry Chicken, and the Strawberry for a sweet dessert and all of them did not disappoint. I didn't think the Fire Curry Chicken would actually be that spicy, but it was! My spice tolerance is on the low to medium end so I could only handle half of the sandwich then handed the rest off to my friend haha. Even with the spiciness, I really enjoyed the flavors of the curry chicken, as well as the flavors of all the rest. Perfect spot for a grab-and-go snack or lunch and will definitely be back!
google avatar

Vivien L.

Yelp
One of my favorite spots in Bellevue! I love the savory and sweet sandwiches + the pudding and coffee jelly! The store is small with no seating. It's just a grab and go place. Try to come before 11 for a wider selection to pick from. I came at 12:30 one time and most of their sandwiches were already sold out. The pudding was the best I've ever tried so far and I've had a lot of pudding in Japan too. I've probably tried all of their sandwiches at this point and would recommend any of them if you think it fits your taste buds. I tried the blueberry and cream cheese once for fun and it just wasn't for me. It tasted exactly how you think it would taste. My favorites are the shrimp cutlet, red bean paste & matcha cream, and matcha ichigo.
google avatar

Amanda D.

Yelp
Mmmm we got there about 15 before closing so they were out of most things. The two we were able to try though were delicious. Strawberries and cream and egg salad.
google avatar

Brad B.

Yelp
Yum! Dozens of varieties of sandwiches; come early for best selection. Very clean & well organized. Friendly, happy staff. Tres Special, Loco Moco, & Miso Katsu my personal faves, daughter likes Matcha Ishigo, Ube, and Egg Salad. All are good!!
google avatar

Louise F.

Yelp
Really nice light early quick lunch (ok maybe not that light actually). They have so many options that anyone can find something. We got the okonomiyaki and shrimp cutlet for our "actual meal" and a mango cream for dessert. The okonomiyaki was much stronger im taste than the shrimp cutlet but I liked the shrimp one more - the cutlet added a crisp and the mayo with green onion was super fragrant without being too strong or heavy. And the mango cream was exactly what you'd expect good bread, good cream, and good mango to taste like together. The katsu sandwiches also look really good too. Note there's nowhere to eat in the store. It's more of a stop and go type of place which makes the entire process quite efficient and you can be in and out in no time.
google avatar

Timothy L.

Yelp
Solid spot for Japanese sandos. Come early, especially on the weekends as they sell out real fast. My favorites here are the miso katsu and pork katsu sandos. In each sandwich the katsu is nicely breaded and fried.
google avatar

Dannie C.

Yelp
Having lived in Japan, I miss Japanese sandwiches and this place sufficiently satisfies the occasional cravings. Slightly pricy but because it is hard to find Japanese style sandwiches in the US, they're worth paying up for.
google avatar

Grant H.

Yelp
This is a popular sando takeout spot. You have to get there early, otherwise they could run out of the popular ones. We had no one in front of us, but when we left, there was a line. The sandwiches are typical Japanese-type, with the main feature being the bread. It's a soft, light bread that makes the middle part taste even better.
google avatar

Valerie V.

Yelp
LOVE the sandwiches from here!! They have a HUGE selection, so there is always something new to try. Be aware though, you'll want to get there early as they do sell out quite quickly in certain flavor options/selections. These sandwiches are easily my go-to lunch when I have a long day or long weekend of climbing outside. They're really portable and easy to eat as well, and you don't make a mess of yourself while eating it.
google avatar

Yelp
Cute Japanese sandwich shop. Different tasty options for different taste preferences! Choices run out closer to closing! Come earlier for more choices. Very friendly. Grab a yummy sandwich. Grab a strawberry one for dessert. Grab a coffee jelly for a pick-me-up. I've had a lot of sandwiches from here. I have an affinity for shrimps and eggs, so those are my favorites. Here's my preference list, with my more preferred near the top: shrimp cutlet egg salad TRES egg (creamy scramble egg) pork cutlet (katsu sauce) miso katsu crispy chicken fillet teriyaki chicken fried shrimp blazin sesame chicken fire curry chicken smoke salmon fried cod curry croquette, dense yakisoba tuna salad Coffee jelly is firm yet soft, bouncy texture. Strong coffee flavor with sweetened cream topping. Different options for different days and times. Egg salad and Strawberry options always there. Pop in to see what's there and enjoy a sandwich. More pics and details of sandwiches on their website!

Yelp
I really enjoyed the sandwiches here and you can't beat that price! It was hard to see how much stuff was but it's hidden by the trays. They had a lot of variety of sandwiches and it's pretty filling too! You can't eat in the shop, but there's the botanical gardens nearby. I got the strawberry cream sandwich and it was delicious! The cream wasn't too sweet and the strawberries tasted juicy and not sour at all. Plenty of parking, definitely worth visiting if you're in the area!

Yelp
Second time trying their food, I ordered curry chicken, strawberry, crispy chicken sandwich, and coffee jelly. Curry was my favorite--so tasty with the perfect level of spice. The servers were super friendly and patient. Walked in this time, no long lines, but I suggest ordering online--They have so many choices! It is a cute little spot with ample parking, though no dine-in tables

Yelp
After visiting a museum close by, we came by TRES Sandwich House to pick up a few sandwiches for a quick lunch. It was about 1pm when we arrived and there was a short line inside. The glass case with the sandwiches was quite empty - it was only about 40% filled with savory sandwiches, no sweet. I asked if we could order from the menu board but was told that the sandwiches were 24 hour order in advance only which was quite a bummer. Opted for a few available sandwiches - I tried the Egg Sandwich (~$4.30) specifically. Soft bread, just like in Japan, but the egg mixture itself was decent but definitely not like they make in Japan. Shared parking lot with other tenants. No issues finding parking.

Yelp
Yes, I am a regular. I can't help it as it is the perfect on-the-go meal including dessert. I would eat here every other day. Anyway, I wanted to share the difference between my two favs of shrimp sandwiches. It can be 'overwhelming' with choices since we can only eat so much. Thought this could be helpful if you are deciding between their more popular shrimp cutlet or okonomiyaki. Similarity- both are from the same protein based fried shrimp patty. Differences- Shrimp cutlet has egg mayonnaise on top of the shrimp patty. It tastes more like your 'standard' sandwich, savory and very satisfying. Price $6:30 Okonomiyaki has the 'Japan' taste, with tonkatsu sauce (Worcester sauce, Ketchup, Sugar, Mustard). It has a slight tang and you can definitely tastes ginger. If you are not a ginger fan, this will not be a sandwich you'll enjoy. For me it gives depth to the sandwich. I also enjoy the addition of the very thin egg over the sauce for added taste and protects the bread from being soggy. Price $6:50 Hope this helps you to make your decision if you are a seafood sandwich fan.

Yelp
There are plenty of sandwich flavors to choose from here. The miso katsu was a bit too salty and the black sesame cream was a bit too sweet. The smoked salmon was perfect and my personal favorite out of the 3 sandwiches I ordered. Service was instant since I just picked sandwiches out of the case. Simple and straightforward. There is online ordering available too, and you can pick up your sandwiches in a fridge to the left of the entrance. You cannot eat inside; simply pick up some sandwiches and go. So I just ate mine in the car in the parking lot. 4 outta 5

Yelp
This independent shop is thriving! Recently, every time I've driven by on the weekends, there's almost always a line formed outside the door. I can't think of another place on the Eastside specializing in Japanese sandwiches and I'm happy to say I've finally tried one thanks to TRES! They offer a huge selection of savory and sweet sandwiches with their most popular ones displayed on the top row of their cooler case. Their website suggests placing an order 24 hours in advance if you want to guarantee a specific sandwich as they only make a certain number of them each day. Three of us stopped by on a whim at noon on a Saturday. Despite it being lunchtime, they still had plenty of the sandwiches that we wanted! I was mentally prepared for them to be all out of their top sellers, so it was great to see that they had planned ahead. The line moved surprisingly quickly too. When you get to the counter, just tell them which sandwiches you want and they will sling them into a basket before packing them in a bag or box depending on the quantity ordered. + PORK CUTLET ($6.80): This was delicious! A fried pork filet, tonkatsu sauce, butter, mustard and cabbage was layered between two soft pieces of milk bread. Even after sitting in the cooler case all morning, the edges of the pork were still crispy. The cutlet was an ideal thickness for a sandwich and also pretty tender. I liked the sweetness of the tonkatsu sauce, slight zing from the mustard and the crunch of the cabbage. I can see why this is one of their best sellers. + RED BEAN & MATCHA CREAM ($4.80): The matcha cream was light and actually had a pretty strong tea flavor. It paired nicely with the sweet red bean paste. I just thought the filling could have been more evenly spread on the bread. It appeared to be piped on and mainly in the center, leaving the edges of the bread completely plain. While I enjoyed this simple sweet sandwich, I wouldn't call it a great value. + CRISPY CHICKEN FILET ($6.30): I personally didn't try this one, but one person in my group said it was good and moist. These sandwiches would be perfect for a picnic or if you just need something quick but healthy. Most people could probably eat at least two of them to make for a satisfying lunch. With over 40 varieties to select from (as seen on their website), there's something to fit everyone's tastes! 4.25 stars.

Yelp
The GOAT! Well, at least anywhere in the PNW. Probably extends all the way down to the Bay Area too. These sandwiches are as close as you're going to get to proper Japanese sandos around these parts and in truth they're a little bit above average in that regard too. If you come early to this shop they'll have a variety of standard and unique sandwiches to choose from. You can get standard egg or chicken cutlet sandos, and I think I've had a pretty good okonomiyaki style one from here too. Super delicious, reasonably priced and nothing quite like it anywhere else - a must try in Seattle!

Yelp
Very quick and easy to order. The dessert sandwiches with whipped cream and strawberries are a hit with the kids.

Yelp
Japanese Sando! What a treat. Affordable. Tasty. Buy one to eat. Buy some to take home. Buy some for lunch. There was not a bad one. We tried several.

Yelp
I was soooo excited that I finally had the opportunity to try Tres recently! This place has been on my bucket list for years but I was never in the area at the right time. When I walked in I noticed that they had a huge selection of sweet and savory sandwiches that it was a little bit overwhelming trying to decide which one to get. The staff were very friendly and offered great recommendations when I needed help picking. I decided to get the pork cutlet, strawberry, and shrimp cutlet (not pictured). The bread was so soft and there was a decent amount of filling. My favorite had to be the shrimp cutlet (which the staff recommended). I liked the sauce that came with the shrimp cutlet and the pieces of non minced shrimp was a nice touch! The other sandwiches I tried were also delicious. One sandwich definitely isn't enough to keep you full, and each sandwich being $5-6 is a lot. I do want to come back and try the other sandwiches as there are so many options. 4.5/5!

Yelp
I love this place for their simple, yet delicious sandwiches. With clean ingredients and made fresh every morning, you can't go wrong. I also love that they cut off the crusts for every sandwich. This is more of a grab and go type of place, but if you bring them to the Bellevue botanical garden nearby, you got yourself a great picnic meal. Egg: 5/5 Miso katsu: 4.5/5 Matcha cream and red bean: 5/5 Teriyaki chicken: 4.5/5 Ham and cucumber: 3.5/5 Strawberry cream: 4.5/5 Looking forward to trying more!!

Yelp
This has been on my food bucket list for the longest time. Since TRES Sandwich House's hours are toward midday and I live pretty far, I was excited when I had the chance to stop by! Each sando was about $5-6, ranging from savory to sweet flavors. We got 4 sandos - spicy chicken curry, shrimp cutlet, matcha ichigo, and black sesame. We really enjoyed the flavor of spicy chicken curry one. It had a nice subtle kick of spiciness and also had good overall flavor. The shrimp cutlet had a good balance of smoothness from the shrimp and crispy from the cutlet. The cream in both the black sesame and matcha ichigo were so light and fluffy. You could taste the delicious black sesame and matcha with each bite. One thing I noticed was how little filling each sandwich had. While the inner part of the sandos had filling, the other edges were just bread. As a result, I'd say nearly 1/3 of the sando was just bread and no filling. Other than this note, I enjoyed each sando and would come back to try other flavors!

Yelp
Yummy yummy sandwiches! We tried the fried cod sandwich, shrimp cutlet sandwich, and tres special sandwich. All sandwiches were super fresh and delicious. I believe most sandwiches are ~$5-$7 making them pretty affordable. There's no indoor seating so it's more of a pick up and go. Service was quick and we were able to move through the line pretty fast. Staff were super helpful in letting us know what sandwiches were available. In the future, I would probably order in advance online to ensure I could get the sandwiches I wanted as we were only able to choose what was available at the store when we went. Super casual sandwich place that I would totally recommend on trying! The botanical garden is nearby too so it's a good lunch to grab and walk around the garden! :)

Yelp
This place was a place I've been wanting to try for a while because you cannot find these sandwiches anywhere it seems. The place is small and you have to get there early or else you might not get the sandwich you want. There is usually a line out the door but it goes fairly quickly. The sandwiches to me were just ok. Nothing special and no real abundance of flavor. We tried 5 different kinds. The bread of course is the best.

Yelp
Amazeballs! I went to Tres this morning with my good pal and I ordered seven sandwiches while my friend just got one for himself. The line was long of course, but that is just a testament to the exquisite taste. Not only were the sandwiches "bussin" (common slang term used by children these days, which means excellent), but the service was great as well. We had such a kind server, Ariana, who recommended me the matcha ichigo and got me another shrimp cutlet from the back when there wasn't one left in the front. Thank you for the great experience, Tres, we will be back soon. Arigato!

Yelp
Tres Sandwich House is truly a hidden gem. Their menu boasts an incredible variety of savory and sweet sandwiches that cover just about everything you can think of. I mean, who would have thought of an okonomiyaki sandwich? During our visit, we tried a selection of their offerings including the pork cutlet, fire curry chicken, okonomiyaki, miso katsu, and fried shrimp sandwiches, all of which were wonderful and, not to mention, exceptionally well-packaged. The shrimp sandwich hit the spot for a shrimp tempura craving I didn't know I had. The okonomiyaki sandwich was a unique blend of flavors that left us pleasantly surprised. While they sell nearly exclusively sandwiches, a few other items included pudding, coffee jelly, and loaves of crust. Yes. Entire loaves comprised of slices of crust. While this shop is certainly quite niche, it also makes you question why there aren't more places like it. Though to honest, It's probably a good thing they're not located near us because I think if they were, I'd be fat and broke in no time. If you're ever in the area, I highly recommend paying a visit to Tres Sandwich House. If you live nearby, this might just be a new lunch spot for you.

Yelp
Okay! The okonomiyaki one was a slam dunk 5/5 - v good. The other two I got, cream strawberry and California were good but easily to replicate and not shocking in their deliciousness so 3.5/5. My boyfriend said the katsu curry was very good with a little heat 4.5/5. The pork cutlet is good but not as flavorful 4/5. He loved the cheese cake strawberry 10/5.

Yelp
Sandwich House TRES in Bellevue be straight-up fire, yo! After crushin' on their bomb sandwiches and desserts, I couldn't bounce back to Vancouver without one last fix. So, I rolled through late as hell and scooped up the last Miso katsu sandwiches and coffee pudding--they were the real deal, no cap. That Miso katsu had me droolin' with its mad flavors, and the coffee pudding was straight-up dope, know what I'm sayin'? It was the sweetest way to cap off my visit before hittin' the road back home. Sandwich House TRES keeps it %1000 with their grub, makin' it a must-hit spot for any homie rollin' through Bellevue. And yo, speaking of the bread, rumor has it they bring in water straight from Japan to make it extra legit. But I ain't sure if it's facts or just talk. If you got the inside scoop, slide into my DMs and let me know, aight? Let's uncover the truth about this bread game!
