The Most Romantic Restaurants in Palm Beach County | Eater Miami

"Sant Ambroeus, named after Milan’s patron saint, debuted in Milan in 1936 and expanded to New York City in 1982. Since its 2016 opening in Palm Beach’s Royal Poinciana Plaza, the restaurant has attracted New Yorkers with its sleek, contemporary Italian-designed interiors, offering a stylish dining experience. While the prices are on the higher side, the quality justifies a special meal out. A standout is the hot chocolate, where melted chocolate and warm milk are served separately, allowing diners to craft their drink." - J. Miller

Absolutely Wonderful Experience! I had the pleasure of dining here recently and everything was simply perfect. The atmosphere was warm, inviting, and beautifully set — the kind of place where you can truly relax and enjoy your time. But what really made the evening special was our waitress, Lucia. She was an absolute gem — friendly, attentive, and genuinely kind. She made us feel welcome from the moment we sat down, offered excellent recommendations, and ensured that every part of our meal was just right. It’s rare to find someone so professional yet personable. She truly elevated our experience. The food? Outstanding. Every dish was delicious, fresh, and full of flavor — clearly made with care and passion. Between the amazing service, fantastic food, and lovely ambiance, I can confidently say this was one of the best dining experiences I’ve had in a long time. Thank you, Lucia, for making it unforgettable!

It’s not often that you get what you pay for, but St Ambrose offers that. The atmosphere is wonderful. I feel as if I’m on the Italian Riviera as I sip my fabulous coffee and nibble on a delicious apricot croissant 🥐. My coffee and croissant cost around $14, which is great value. Dinner can cost between $36-$70 a meal. The staff are so helpful and friendly. I’m never disappointed here. They also have locations in Manhattan

After dinner at Buccan, our friends suggested we head over to Sant Ambroeus for dessert and a change of scenery. We figured why not… and wow, this place did not disappoint. From the moment we walked in, the vibe was on point… super charming, elegant, and just had that rich, old-school Palm Beach feel. Even the wallpaper was branded… everything felt thought out and classy. We made our way to the dessert counter, and I asked the guy behind the bar what the best one was. He recommended the Gianduia, which is basically a hazelnut Nutella-type dessert and let me tell you, it was unreal. One of the best desserts we’ve ever had. No joke. Yeah, it was $19… but honestly, I’d go back just for that. Totally worth it. If you’re in the Palm Beach area and want a killer dessert spot with a great vibe, this is it.

An elegant warm interior welcomes you to an impeccable dining experience. We were celebrating a special occasion and had reservations. From the first moment of stepping in they acknowledged the event and showed interest. The GM also took time to stop by and check in. Often times when we make reservations and write a note about the occasion it goes unnoticed so this was a delightful surprise and a pro move. Dining room booths are comfortable offer privacy but you can see the whole room. I recommend going around 8pm as it gets lively starting then. Service was top notch and we are still talking about the food. Only small thing that was a miss was the main course was served while my companion was not at the table. However the lemon caper sauce that arrived alongside the grilled fish was divine, we almost did shots of it. The wine menu is extensive and we got to choose some wines we have never tried before - made the experience even more memorable. We will be going back. Go, eat, drink and be merry!

A very classy Italian spot with a few beautiful locations. The Palm Beach one is perfect for a special occasion or date night under the stars in the Poinciana Plaza. We typically order the specials of the night, as there are always a wide variety of different tasty dishes to share, but you can’t go wrong with most of the menu. We never leave without ordering the Tartufa Pizza and truffle creamed corn. We also adore their bakery selection including the Princess cake as well as their Hazelnut & Chocolate. Definitely worth trying at least once! An experience I always look forward to.

The fruit tart was one of the most delicious tarts I have had. Fresh berries, delicious cream, and a perfect crisp and flaky crust. I want to eat these everyday for breakfast!

Google
I have been there a couple of times and every single dish tasted uniquely great. The drinks and juices are very tasty as well. The service is excellent and the ambiance is relaxing and friendly. A great place for a weekend brunch in Palm Beach.

We loved our visit. Excellent food and drinks. Phillip, our server was kind and friendly, we enjoyed an espresso martini and beer in the dining room. Lunch, pesto pasta and the ravioli with delicious warm bread. Very nice hostess and restaurant manager. Five stars.

Yelp
One of the best gluten-free pastas I've ever had. 10/10 They make really great mocktails--the bar tenders know what they are doing. You are greeted with a bread bowl and olive oil. Latin and retro music plays throughout during the day. Flowers are swapped for the evening crowd. Beautiful decor. What I love most is actually the branding--beautiful designs in their to-go bags, and the boxes for ordering bakery items. Lovely illustrations and story--simply delightful. Gelato was very good. But the hazelnut cake takes the...cake. Best chocolate dessert ever.

Yelp
Stepping into Sant Ambroeus feels like teleporting straight to Milan -- with better weather. The pizza is next-level -- thin, crisp, and bursting with flavor. Easily one of the best in Palm Beach. The pastas are elegant and unique -- not your usual suspects, but everything is fresh and deeply satisfying. Wine list? Impressive. Desserts? Dangerous. Save room for the gelato or the millefoglie -- or both, no regrets. It's polished without being stuffy, and the service makes you feel like a regular, even on your first visit. Definitely a splurge, but every bit of it feels worth it.

Yelp
Popular for a reason! We came for brunch, and everything was truly exquisite. The atmosphere is stunning--both indoors and outdoors--elegant yet inviting. The service was impeccable, and every dish we tried was delicious. I had the Centocolori salad, which was fresh and vibrant, while my boyfriend ordered an omelet--easily one of the best he's ever had. The drinks were just as impressive; he had the "Talk the Talk" cocktail, which was perfectly crafted with mezcal and gin. Make reservations in advance and dress well--this place has a chic vibe that's worth embracing. Can't wait to return!

Yelp
I go here about once a month but really should go more like once a week. They have many different options for food and drinks and somehow it's all amazing. The coffee, mixed drinks, pasta, all fantastic. A nice and relaxing atmosphere with speedy and friendly service. This is a great place to have a business dinner or just a cup of coffee.

Yelp
I love every thing about this place! The mood is a combination of sceney (love) and close-knit: while there seems to be great life all around, there is also a sense of familiarity between patron and staff. the service is top notch and quite personable. they really know the menu and recite the items beautifully! The drinks are made perfectly to order! The food: I had the Branzino which I enjoyed immensely! The ambiance is second to none and had such a great time: I didn't want the evening to end. I am grateful fir the experience and you will too.

Yelp
The Principessa is probably the best cake I have had in the past few years in South Florida. I found out that they don't ship the cake, but it is possible to order a whole cake. The service is exceptional. The ambiance is busy since it is always popular with locals and non-locals.

Michael S.

Yelp
As a Palm Beach local, it's rare to find a restaurant that not only delivers exceptional food but also makes you feel truly welcomed--and Sant Ambroeus nails both. From start to finish, the service was outstanding. The staff was warm, attentive, and genuinely gracious, and the manager went out of their way to make us feel like valued guests. Unlike some other well-known spots on the island (looking at you, Lola and Buccan), Sant Ambroeus actually treats locals like repeat customers, not just another reservation. The pastas were fantastic--fresh, perfectly al dente, and bursting with flavor. And the dessert? Absolute top tier. The kind of finish that makes you want to linger just a little longer. In a town where it often feels like hospitality is a dying thing, Sant Ambroeus stands out for getting it exactly right. It's elegant without being stuffy, and welcoming without pretense. We'll absolutely be back--and often.

Yelp
Lovely, low-key, excellent restaurant. It's a weird place. Food is really good, you will leave happy, but you're not going to say "omg that was amazing". It's just super high quality and well presented. The service is totally on point. The whole place is unpretentious. If you have F.U. money, this is a lovely place for dinner or a date. Super nice. BUT...at about $125 pp (that's without any alcohol at all) I want to walk out wowed. I've been here several times and I'll probably be back. I have never left here unhappy but at that price point I feel like there are better options.
google avatar

Yelp
Came here just for their hazelnut cake and it did not disappoint! Healthy serving and oh so delicious!!! Smooth, creamy and not too sweet.

Taek L.

Yelp
Disappointed by the Pricing I was really surprised to see a salad priced at $35 -- that's unusually high, even for upscale restaurants. I've dined at many places and have never come across a price like that for a salad. Unfortunately, it didn't feel justified by the portion or ingredients. Hoping the pricing becomes more reasonable in the future.

Yelp
I've been here multiple times and it's always good. The service is top notch. The staff is friendly and attentive. The croissant with the cream in the middle is so good. The omelet was amazing and was soft and fluffy. I was able to get a seat at the bar. There is indoor and outdoor seating. There is free parking if you find a spot. If not there is valetn

Yelp
Beautiful restaurant in Royal Poinciana shopping center. Staff was very attentive and friendly. It was very busy that evening and the manager found us a quaint corner table almost immediately. Ambience was very romantic with the perfect yellow lighting. I ordered the salmon and my date ordered the lobster pasta. Both were amazing but the star of the show was the hazelnut cake! Our server recommended it and it was decadent!

Dan S.

Yelp
Very good tortellini, steak, and caprese, albeit pricey. Ambiance and service were also nice. Had to take a star off for the dessert when they call it a Flourless Chocolate Cake but it's actually a gluten free almond flour chocolate cake; those things are not the same at all.

Yelp
I am so grateful and appreciative for the service and accommodation we received last night! We were invited for a couples outing with friends I haven't seen in some time. I happen to be in a bodybuilding prep at the moment but didn't want to miss the opportunity to see our friends. Balancing my fitness goals and friendships is another challenge in itself. I don't expect a restaurant to be accommodating so I will typically eat my meal beforehand. Phillip, our server asked the table if we had any dietary restrictions. I was still planning to order just sparkling water. When everyone was done ordering I asked him if it would be possible to get a side of asparagus with no oil or butter ( a dish they have on the menu but doesn't clarify preparation.) My friend chimes in that I'm prepping for a show and Phillip excitedly wanted to know what the kitchen could do to accommodate me. He came back twice to clarify and brought a nice plate of fresh asparagus steamed to perfection. The feeling of gratitude I have for getting to enjoy a plate of food with my husband and friends during prep is unexplainable. My husband ordered a swordfish steak special, my friends had the ossobuco and skirt steak. Everyone's meal was perfection! Thank you so much Phillip and Sant Ambroeus for exceeding my expectations! I will absolutely return for a celebratory "real" meal after my competition

Yelp
Service was great, ambiance very nice for sure. Food was excellent. Def obnoxiously priced (ie: personal super think pizza was $34) but all else pretty great.
google avatar

Yelp
Beautiful high-end bakery, which also has a bar we had great service from our waitress and there's also a restaurant in the back with an extensive menu, something for everyone

Yelp
This is such a gorgeous little spot in West Palm! The service was fantastic from start to finish, the hostess was friendly and our waitress was super attentive. I had a great breakfast but sadly, not all dishes were amazing. My fiancé and I both started off with our typical lattes, mine was iced as per usual. We then had the breakfast pastry basket which was delicious, we were brought a blueberry scone, pistachio crème, chocolate croissant and a variety of jams and butter. For our main dishes we had the San Daniele panini and the Crostino Milanese. The San Daniele panini was not best, I would probably try a different dish next time but overall it was a lovely breakfast.

Yelp
This place was so awful don't waste your time or money. I had been to this place a few years back and it has gone down hill significantly. Not sure what happened to them.

Yelp
*not sponsored. so you know this is a real review...first, id like to say I've never tasted such an awful plate of pasta in in my entire life. The appetizer was too crunchy and not even tasteful. the bolognese is AWFUL. wanted to throw up. Tasted like it was completely watered down and 0 taste. No seasoning, no taste- just utterly disgusting. I also had an awful date because of how bad this restaurant was. He got mad at me for my reaction towards the pasta and I got upset because I know there's 10x better restaurants aside from this one and I was still taken here. Just an awful restaurant. The only thing semi-good was the service. They are all lovely; but not understanding why people work somewhere where the food is just awful. This restaurant definitely pays people to review it 5 stars- people with real taste would understand this food is a disgrace towards Italian food and would never rate a restaurant 5 stars when it's meant to have 1. I would've never expected Palm Beach to even allow such a thing. Honestly, I encourage as many people to go & taste it themselves to be utterly surprised with how bad of a restaurant this is.

Yelp
Good, if not great, Italian restaurant in Palm Beach. Another NYC outpost--BTW, I've noticed almost all the outpost restaurants here in SoFla are more expensive than at their original locations in NYC. (It's not just a "Palm Beach thing"). A bowl of pasta, glass of wine, and dessert came to $100 with tip. (Margherita pizza runs $31). The fettuccine bolognese was pretty good and a healthy serving, ditto for the ricotta cheesecake. Not going to lie and tell you it was fantastic or the best I've had but it was acceptable/good (and a bit pricey; guess customers are paying for the decor). I happened to be in the area and decided to give the restaurant a shot but wouldn't necessarily go out of my way to return. For the same money/slightly less I much prefer a different NYC outpost: MAMO. Good ambiance with indoor and outdoor/patio seating available. Nice service.
google avatar

Jodi K.

Yelp
Always a 10/10. I love it here day or night. The bolognese is one of my favorites, the beet salad is delicious, and even if you're just like a great place to sit and have a coffee and a pastry, this is your spot. Absolutely never disappoints.
google avatar

Marney R.

Yelp
Amazing ambience, highly recommend this spot whether it's for a business dinner, a girls night, or even a romantic night with a date I found the service exceptional, and the food was fantastic. I suggest going with a group of people if you can because you can try several dishes. Everything from the appetizers to the pasta and the entrées/sides were delicious and I would go again in a heartbeat.

Yelp
Always Delicious St Ambroeus takes me back to milan. 100% QUALiTY . Service is always wonderful and it keeps getting better they pay such close attention to gluten free requests i was blown away they even made me fresh GF bread and went above and beyond to accommodate our family of 6.
google avatar

Yelp
Amazing service and food - our server was Italian and very attentive but the lady who was supposed to fill our water was very unpleasant- did not smile once during a long meal and would not refill the olive oil which was kind server did Bread 5/5 Cacio epepe 4/5 Truffle pizza 5/5 Hazelnut dessert 5/5 Spinach ravioli 3.5/5

Yelp
If you want to go the dreamiest Palm Beach outdoor luxury shopping mall with nothing but the best selection of stores and restaurant's I highly recommend you visit The Royal Poinciana Plaza and eat at Sant Ambroeus. The restaurant ambiance is family and pet friendly. The service is average due to the busy fast pace of the place. Due to the south Florida heat we chose to sit inside. The outside seating area is very happening. The food was great! We had 3 pizzas, the salmon and the lobster roll. Lightest dish was the salmon. Pizzas are all pretty decadent, including the margarita. Worst decision was the lobster roll. We could have had 2 pasta dishes for the price of the lobster roll that really disappointed. Highly recommend this restaurant and the plaza for yummy bites, outdoor ambience and fun fashion.
google avatar

Anna K.

Yelp
You must go! A can't miss beautiful restaurant to brighten your day or vacation. You can make a day of it and shop in the lively outdoor plaza. We went for lunch. It's a fancy place but there is outdoor and cafe/bar-seating in addition to the stunning dining room. Highly recommend the lunch salads with the addition of a protein. My salmon was perfectly cooked. The bread is amazing. Dessert is also a must. The cakes are beautiful. I tried the lemon cake with marzipan and thought it was perfect. They also have the best cookies. Expensive but so is everything in the area.
google avatar

Gillian C.

Yelp
Ok, it seems odd that after a 3-star review I'd go back to a place five more times in the two months since my review, but a good friend is often there for breakfast or lunch and invites me at the last minute to join her at the bar -- on her. I'm upping my review because of the employees behind the bar who serve our drinks and food. Each one of them is very professional and great at her job. I can honestly say that Maro, Zuhre, and Olga are a delight and really know their stuff! You've really made me love the bar area, ladies! Thank you! Also, I tried the pignoli dessert and it's out of this world!
google avatar

Jennie E.

Yelp
I come here for breakfast almost every weekend and get an iced cappuccino, it is the best iced cappuccino I've ever had. I had dinner here last weekend and it was absolutely delicious. Had to end it with a slice of the Principessa cake
google avatar

Erin N.

Yelp
After weathering a bad storm the day before, Palm Beach greeted us with blue-skies and the most incredible brunch here. Stepping foot inside made me feel like I was transported to Italy- the bakery case greeted me at the door with one pastry more stunning than the next. The food was amazing. The ambience was beautiful and service, impeccable- this is a can't miss restaurant if you're in the area.
google avatar

Matthew O.

Yelp
Quite the excellent restaurant if you want to New York vibes with the beautiful Florida weather. I didn't want to make reservations and wait in line, so I ordered food to go. I have to say, service was efficient and I'm quite impressed at the quality, even for a to go order. The Minted Peas on Toast with Poached Eggs was a good balance of richness yet still light enough where you won't get overwhelmed. The Conchiglie alla Aragosta was excellent as a pasta dish. The pasta was cooked to Al dente and the lobster meat was not over cooked. The light lemon and white wine butter sauce totally lifted the pasta's flavor. I really enjoyed my meal here. Yes, it's on the pricey side. But if you're in the area and on vacation, I think it's a worthy place to try :)

Aleksandar A.

Yelp
Food was good, small portions/ high price!($27 for one single pancake, that should give an idea). No one came to check if our food was good, prepared to our liking and order or if anyone needed anything else at the time. Inside Atmosphere/ Ambience is a mix between a train station lobby mixed with early 2000s night club brown booth setting. Hasn't been renovated in a decade. No music (at least can't be heard because of the noise like you are at a a farmers market). STOP letting people bring their nasty dogs inside your restaurant and don't let them on the chairs and couches. It is disgusting , not sanitary and a violation of health codes , if they are service animals they should stay on the floor as trained. Garden outside looked cute. Service- Our server was not bad until he knocked a full glass of mimosa on my pants and shirt. He handed me a napkin and left while I was soaked and dripping champagne on the floor with pieces of glass on my lap. He was not to be seen until the time for the check. No apology, no offer to make it up in any way. It is absolutely unacceptable in a establishment on Palm beach with those prices to be treated like that. Normal restaurants will cover the check after the accident or some sort of an apology. I had to walk wet and smell for the rest of the day like I rolled around the bars floor. No manager was ever around to check on our party either. And the host needs to stop saying " buongiorno" at welcoming. It's not cute!
google avatar

Sophia R.

Yelp
We were lucky enough when we went for lunch we got a table right away! The service was on the slower side, but the espresso martinis made up for it. Definitely would say one of the top espresso martinis I have had. We also had the watermelon feta salad which was also to die for. Great atmosphere for a girls lunch!
google avatar

Yelp
terrible decision to come here... very bad customer services and the food is horrible .
google avatar

Knee Knee E.

Yelp
I really enjoyed this restaurant it's super cutesy and the pasta is delicious! It feels like you've stepped straight out of Palm Beach and into Italy. Great ambiance and attentive employees as well.
google avatar

Barbara G.

Yelp
Best espresso you'll ever have! Sit outside and enjoy the breeze. Nestled in between luxury shops, Hermes and YSL. Our server tago was an absolute delight- great service. Desserts are light and delicious! Highly recommend the white chocolate cake.
google avatar

David P.

Yelp
Arrived and asked to be seated. The hostess looked us up and down and asked if we wanted to sit at the bar. We repeated that we wanted a table. she proceeded to seat us at a table right next to the only other occupied table in the restaurant. when we requested to sit at a more private table she said that entire section of the restaurant was reserved. We felt discriminated.
google avatar

Nicole S.

Yelp
Cute little Italian spot with nice cocktails, pastas and even a coffee and pastry bar! We stopped in for a glass of wine and quick snack and had the caprese salad and the mozzarella was melt in your mouth good!!! I would def go back just for that but next time I'll try the pastas too !!!
google avatar

Wren F.

Yelp
Food -- another NYC outpost at palm beach. The menu lacks a bit of ingenuity but it gets by given the demographic it serves. The crab and lobster pasta are the stand outs personally. Everything else -- nothing to write home about. Service -- pretty good Ambiance -- perhaps a good people watching spot for the usual to be seen folks on Palm island

Melanie H.

Yelp
We had horrible service and our food arrived cold. The avocado toast was made from what seemed like pre packaged avocado, the toast and eggs were cold. Just go to Celis down the way, much better avocado toast and half the price. And you'll still get to enjoy the royal poinciana plaza aesthetics.
google avatar

Ashley F.

Yelp
The ambiance is beautiful and it's a great location to do a little shopping afterwards-- Alice & Olivia, Love Shack Fancy, Stoney Clover Ln, Zimmerman, Jimmy Choo, YSL, and more just steps away. We were running 15 min late for our reservation- while they didn't answer the phone the 4X I called, they were extremely accommodating once we arrived. Coffees & teas were great as usual. My sister & I split the avocado toast w scrambled egg, we got a pancake for the table-- everything was delicious. The food did take longer than normal. But our yummy beverages, plus an aperol spritz, made it worth the wait.

Ashly V.

Yelp
Cute little spot. Food was mediocre but would return for pastry and coffee. Staff was really attentive and kind

Yelp
Enjoyed an absolutely excellent salad & ravioli dinner with Susan at Sant Ambroeus at The Royal Poinciana Plaza in Palm Beach, Florida.
google avatar

Yelp
Nice vibe and atmosphere. Service was friendly. Pasta dishes were very good. Bummed they did not have the principessa cake. Would return.
google avatar

Yelp
OK, there is nothing basic about San Ambrose. It's a staple it's been around for so many years and the food is impeccable as is the service and the ambience. I just read some review that said the food was basic and it couldn't be further for the truth, go here in Palm Beach and I've been to the one in New York and the food is clean and delicious. Always a pleasure.
google avatar

Maria M.

Yelp
Fantastic gluten free pasta!!! I tried the cacio e Pepe, and it was so delicious! We sat outside, and it was wonderful ambiance. The service was also fantastic.
google avatar

Eyal D.

Yelp
What a gem of an Italian restaurant with flavor profile very similar to that you'll find in Italy. The ambience was perfect, as was the service, and the food was absolutely delicious, spot on. Bravissimo!
google avatar

Zee A.

Yelp
Impeccable service. Delicious coffee and dessert. I had an affogato. Perfect amount of gelato. Wonderful weather and view. Posh. Should have shopped at YSL beforehand because I was too sated to do so after my meal. But what a wonderful place to stroll. Shaded areas abound!

Yelp
I love this place! I've been for brunch, lunch and dinner multiple times (I've even been to the location in New York), and I've always had an amazing meal. They have stunning outdoor seating and a lovely staff. Valet is available. Now for the food... MUST TRY: -- Cacio e Pepe: one of the best I've ever had -- perfect amount of pepper! -- Carbonara: lots of flavor and absolutely delicious -- Tartufata pizza: COVERED in tartufo truffle with an egg yolk in the middle. It is very thin; the crust tastes closer to a cracker than a bread crust. ALSO GOOD: -- Norwegian salmon Benedict: very good, exactly what you would expect from this dish DRINKS: -- The belinis we're very good! DESSERT: -- all of the cakes are great, but I believe they have a ferrer rocher cake off the menu ;) They bring complimentary bread around in three flavors: olive, sunflower and multigrain. I like the Olive, but the sunflower was the table's favorite flavor.

Ryan R.

Yelp
They never pickup the phone. I always call to order takeout and they transfer me and no one ever picks up. I go inside and it's empty! 2 customers. Customer service here sucks!!
