Santo Arcadia - Review - Arcadia - Phoenix - The Infatuation

"When you’re charged with setting up a meal with your snowbird in-laws, Santo is the best move. It’s cozy like a living room and the rotating Sononran-inspired menu (go for the lamb shank spiked with chili glaze) is bound to win over skeptical out-of-towners. Cocktails like the Anticuado with Mexican whiskey make conversation flow easy. The grilled mushrooms, hit with a smoky salsa macha, are solid openers, and a headliner main like the tomahawk pork chop is big enough to feed two (or one very hungry person). You don’t need reservations, but strategic timing and some luck will help—the Arcadia Proper regulars who’ve made the dining room their second home will make you wish you had a spot locked down." - Lauren Topor

The Hottest New Restaurants in Phoenix Right Now, Winter 2025

"Nadia Holguin and Armando Hernandez, the husband-and-wife team behind Tacos Chiwas and Cocina Chiwas, have partnered with Roberto Centeno of Espiritu to offer a modern, decidedly upscale take on Mexican Cuisine at this lovely (but noisy) hotspot in Arcadia. The bar cranks out clever riffs on cocktail classics, while starters include lobster tostadas, seasonal ceviche, and birria dumplings. Large format entrees, cooked on a Santa Maria grill, include rib chop, mackerel al pastor, and grilled lobster with pork belly, all ample enough to feed two." - Mcconnell Quinn, Nikki Buchanan

I really liked the food, especially the salmon meal. The place had a chill vibe, and both the staff and the chef were very friendly and helpful. Overall, I enjoyed the experience. The parking lot was kind of funny to me—it was a really small space, but it was valet.

Jason Beckmann

Google
The short rib was good, but the salmon was kind of meh being unevenly cooked and with huge fish bones throughout, making it difficult to eat. Service was friendly and good, but they forgot to give us knives with our entrees, and then it took a while to flag someone down. Overall, I expected a bit more from this place, given the chefs and reviews.

This place is amazingly unique in food, drinks, and atmosphere. The staff were wonderful, very friendly and attentive. I’ve eaten at most of the hip Mexican places in town but this one stands out in a lot of ways. The menu is award winning. The portions are generous. I had the Queso, corn salad, and flank steak. All were amazing. I can’t wait to go back and try more of the menu. Put this place at the top of your list if you haven’t been.

Google
We had Birria Dumplings & Pollo Supremo & Fish Quesadilla. Supreme flavors, everything had a deep good savory unique flavor. Cocktails (santo Paloma & margarita) were mixed very well & had a decent amount of tequila. Atmosphere is very chic & not over the top. I highly recommend this amazing restaurant.

Google
Happened to stumble across this as we were just looking for a place to eat while in the area. They're familiar with restaurants in this part of town, and there's plenty to choose from that are good, but this place is a gem! We stopped in for lunch and not only were really treated exceptionally well, the food was fantastic and first class. Santo's agave selection will rival just about any other agave centric bar in town. We were actually treated to a little background on some of the micro distillery mezcals they offer. Don't let the prices push you away from trying some fantastic spirits. Highly recommend!

Unique and very tasty flavors. The Phoenix cocktail is a must. Staff stretched thin on a Saturday night right after getting their James Beard nomination.

Google
Super tasty food and drinks. Went on a Tuesday night and the service was super spotty and slow. The place wasn’t terribly busy and it took a really long time to put in our order and get our meal. The staff was very disorganized. The hostess was our waitress. The runner tried to take our drink order. We were very confused about who our server even was. The food was outstanding but for that price point I expected top notch service from the staff.

Google
Cool new Mexican inspired cuisine! Lots of drink and food options, great spot to meet with friends or a fun date night. Would recommend the birrila dumplings, it was super delicious and the sauce is very hearty. It comes with four dumplings, maybe enough for 2-3 people. We also had the pollo supremo, grilled chicken with beans and rice. This was our favorite dish, although they added some veggies on the dish that were pretty small compared to the chicken and bean portion. But the grilled chicken was smoky and seasoned well. We also had the dinosaur short rib which was tender, and it came with tortillas and some veggies as well. The portions are really big so we definitely had leftovers. The restaurant is nicely decorated and the serving staff was nice but service was a bit slow. It also gets pretty loud in the restaurant so wouldn't recommend for a quiet dinner. Overall the food and drinks were very good and we would come back to try some other dishes!

Yelp
Santo Arcadia offers an elevated fine dining experience that's truly a cut above the rest. From the warm welcome at the door to our server's impressive knowledge of the menu, every detail was thoughtfully executed. The presentation and quality of the food exceeded my expectations--I was beyond impressed. Phoenix has no shortage of amazing dining spots, but Santo stands out, thanks to its well-established owner who's behind some of the Valley's top-tier restaurants. The excellence here is no surprise, and it shows in every bite. If you're wondering whether you should give it a try--absolutely! Whether it's a romantic date night, a special celebration, or simply an evening to treat yourself to an exceptional meal, Santo is worth every penny. And if you're dining solo, their inviting bar offers ample seating, craft cocktails, and full access to the menu--perfect for a relaxed and enjoyable experience. Trust me, you won't be disappointed!

Yelp
Santo Arcadia is a hidden gem which is quickly being discovered. It's co-owned by the owners of James Beard award winning Bacanora. There's a wait of just at a month now for Bacanora so while you're waiting, consider going here in the meantime. The steak is fantastic, and quite a bit of food. Be prepared it's served medium rare. The cheesecake is unreal. Great selection of tequila and wine. Nice staff, valet parking as it's a bit tight parking wise.

Yelp
My husband asked me about our date night here recently, and I thought I wrote a review. Apparently, I did not. 10 months isn't too late is it? Maybe, Anyway it was memorable enough that I didn't forget my experience, and with my life these days, that means it was memorable. We sat at the bar. Had a couple drinks. As well as dinner. I wasn't able to get a table. We ordered a ton of food. Everything was delicious. I would not order the Lobster ceviche again. It's weird that I say this, but it was just too much ceviche. I would need to order it as just a meal. The inside vibe was awesome. Service was fabulous, even at the bar, and we do plan to come back!

Yelp
This is one of my favorite places in Arizona for food, vibes and cocktails! Food: we were a table of 4 so we got 2 apps, a salad, and two entrees and that was enough food! My favorite app was the frijol con tomato - which was a bean dip essentially! Super flavorful! We also got the cheese fondue which was just a bit too much of one flavor profile for my liking. We got the corn salad which I didn't find special! Both entrees- the pollo supreme and lamb chops were delicious! I especially loved the rice and beans that came with the pollo supreme Service: good, fast and attentive service Ambience: really liked the upscale speakeasy here! Perfect place for a date Cocktails: they have really unique cocktails - I liked the Phoenix a lot Price: pretty expensive

Yelp
This joint venture between Roberto Centeno and Armando Hernandez and Nadia Holguin is not your typical Mexican restaurant. It is definitely upscale (understated elegance and prices), as well as a menu offering everything from elote to Wagyu steak. The food is innovative yet approachable. We came here with friends and had a wonderful meal. It really is best to go family style and share for a personal tasting menu. Portions are generous. We four had the birria dumplings (tender dumplings nestled in a spicy red sauce, great for dipping their rosemary bread), roasted corn salad (nicely dressed and fresh), hamachi ceviche, dinosaur ribs, prawns and pork belly dirty rice (the rice stole the show. Deeply flavorful with just the right amount of heat), lamb, a banana bread and a watermelon sorbet for dessert. The lamb and ribs were good, but the rice was the star- and generally I don't like rice. The bread pudding could have benefited from not being served cold, maybe a caramel sauce or something to overcome some of the dryness. The sorbet was agreed to be kind of strange, salty, creamy... just different. The not so great? The service. It was not good. If we are sharing multiple entrees (which was made clear when ordering), why would you not bring additional plates to the table? And then why would you bring us small, appetizer-sized plates when we asked for plates? We asked for a missing fork and our request was met with an inconvenienced look and did not arrive. We finally took one from another table so we could eat. For the price point, I expect better. It's not an everyday place for us, but we will go back. Hopefully service will match food.

Yelp
They tuck away in the neighborhood and offer valet parking. The deco is lovely, open, and clean. Lots of family were here for weekend dinner. There is a speakeasy in the back. The service is good. Corn salad is delicious. The main dish portion is huge. Chicken is tasty and perfectly cooked. I like their tortillas, thick and earthy. Beans are on the healthy side. Pistachio ice cream is creamy delicious.

Yelp
Excellent all around ! I wanted to try it all so until next time ...make reservations. Drinks are great with local Mexican alcohol highlights, including wine and beer. Our servers were excellent. Attentive and knowledgeable. Place is nicely set up and perfect for date night or family night. The food. The food. Each dish was impeccably prepared and had tons of flavor.

Yelp
A stand out spot tucked away in the cutest neighborhood. Definitely come here for a special occasion! A bit pricey but completely worth it! All other restaurants from this team are stand outs in the area - we have been to Cocina Chiwas, Tacos Chiwas and Bacanora! Similar concept but definitely different! I love the each restaurant has its own flare The food is absolutely fantastic! Can't go wrong with any choice. Our last visit my fiance and I split the rib eye and were left with plenty of leftovers! Huge portion and absolutely delicious! Definitely recommend the birria dumplings, not sure where else you would find something like that! Unique and so bomb! A must go! Speakeasy in the back is a total gem too! Making it the perfect spot for a date night out or special night out with friends

Yelp
Came here for the hype....drinks taste canned and uninspired, food absolutely disgusting. We ordered wagyu beef steak at $115, fish quesadilla and birria, most of it inedible and served cold. When we found the long hair in our meat, we stopped, the manager came over and said "how's the rest of the food" really? You missed the food safety issue and our ultimate disgust. The women at the table were done for good, we left starving. They lack insight, the waitress had no clue of the menu and food is just not good. How dare you charge us $385 and we leave hungry and disgusted! Shame on you! Forget Bacanora, Tacos Chiwas and this place. I'll be disputing on my credit card if I don't hear from them. avoid!!!!
google avatar

Janelle B.

Yelp
I had really high expectations... I think if I was to go back - id sit at the bar - cocktails and small snacks. The Caesar was uninteresting and average with tons of croutons... the short ribs could have been cooked longer - lots of unedible grizzle, roasted vegetables were raw in the center... all was served with a butter knife - not a sharp knife ... was hard to cut through the meat and the vegetables... the beans also felt too bright - not cooked long enough... carrot cake was nice ... but overall my opinion of the food was "meh".

Yelp
Cute restaurant with patient and friendly service for our large party of about 14. My husband and I ordered the pan seared ocean trout and braised dinosaur short rib. Both were very filling, flavorful, and delicious! Bigger portions than expected for a restaurant of this kind. Think elevated Mexican. Wished price point was a bit lower but overall we would return on special occasions! Friend ordered the chicken dish and found the rice very salty.

Yelp
We came to Santo Arcadia with high expectations. We've been to the other restaurants from this team - - Espiritu, Cocina Chiwas, Tacos Chiwas, and Bacanora, and they have all been great. The decor was fine. It isn't bad, but it isn't spectacular. Tables separated by a half wall with wallpaper--white with big flowers, all in white and green. There is a long bar with plants hanging overhead. Unfortunately, my view on the decor may have been skewed because we were seated at the last table off to the side, by a refrigerator with bottles and cans of soda and other drinks and outside of the open kitchen door and its bright lights. Had I known before we were seated, I may have asked to be seated elsewhere. We ordered drinks-- I got the Fuego and Fuma, a delicious smoked drink--and I do mean delicious! We skipped appetizers and ordered our food. Hubby got the chicken supremo, which was served with whole beans and charred scallions with a big bowl of rice on the side. It was served with a very yummy tortilla and some salsa. It was fantastic! I was not very hungry, so I ordered the birria dumplings off the appetizer menu. It was the perfect size for me for dinner. And it was absolutely 100% amazing! There were four fat dumplings in a thick broth, that wasn't really a broth, but more like a gravy consistency. It was spicy and had corn in it and was so good that if I hadn't been in public I would have picked up that bowl and licked All of it up! As the sun went down, the dining room looked prettier--or maybe it just didn't matter anymore because we had tasted the fantastic food.. But it didn't really matter because you are there for the food - - and it really is delicious!

Yelp
Food was absolutely Cocktails Service was great. Vibe was great. Parking is easy and complimentary valet. And they have separate speakeasy behind the restaurant which is fantastic as well..!

Yelp
Walked over to check out the new place. Wife and I are big fans of Espiritu in Mesa and this place has just the same elevated food. The atmosphere is totally opposite- spaced out, well lit area. Like most places, the bar is a great place to sit and interact with bartenders. Justin and Justin were both great to us. Friendly, knowledgeable, professional... one has a mixology background and it shows in the delicious cocktails made. The other is very knowledgeable about agave and can lead you to a tasty cocktail. The food did not disappoint. Everything had just rich and complex flavors. From the frijoles to the clams/mussels, and all the way to the dinosaur short rib and then tres leches. The yam salad was one thing that was crazy different - yet simple. Everything is good size to share - and you'll want to with all the dishes and flavors to experience.

Yelp
Santo is a hidden gem in Arcadia. You could easily pass by it, but don't! The food is really good here! I came for happy hour and ordered some oysters and birria dumplings in addition to some cava to drink. Everything was delicious. We also ordered the Don Roberto en la Playa. If there is one dish you order on the menu, I would recommend this be it. It is like a ceviche with raw scallop, some kind of sushi grade white fish, and grilled octopus. The sauce isn't super punchy and there is a subtle amount of heat to it. We ordered the roasted corn salad, which was very classic and done well. We also got the dinosaur short rib, which was super tender and fantastic. The service was great. The ambiance - it can get a little loud when it is crowded, even early during happy hour!

Yelp
Date night here on a Friday. Our reservation was at 5 which was right when they opened and worked out great for us. Sat immediately, greeted by friendly wait staff and bartenders. Took recommendations for the squash/date salad and was so happy we tried it as it was one of my favorite "salads" I've had. Birria dumplings are a must to start (not pictured because we ate them too fast). Everything else was fantastic, flavorful, and filling. Definitely can share an entree but having some to take home after doesn't hurt. Definitely recommend coming here for dinner with friends or a significant other. They have a speakeasy in the back which can be fun for drinks after as well but we didn't try it out this time. Will be back soon!

Yelp
This morning was a dream having brunch here with my husband and his parents. The interior is very open, warm and inviting. The food is full of so much flavor. Chilaquiles were so tasty! I added pork belly to mine for more protein and I'm glad I did, because it was something a little different than chicken with it. I was the only one that ordered a cocktail surprisingly. I got the Cubana and it had quite a kick to it with the light Tecate lager mixed with salsa negra and Tobasco. I had the others try it as well and they thought it was more of a tart taste but I thought it had a little heat as well. Cold yet enjoyable! The latte art was adorable! Our waitress made a bird and a perfect leaf! I would never have thought I'd find such cute latte art here! Not much parking was found up front but there was extra parking behind the restaurant. There's an open outdoor area which I assume is future patio seating area which will be a hit these spring evenings and early mornings. I want to return for dinner because the menu this morning was only brunch menu, and I'm excited to try the rest of their offerings!

Yelp
Finally got the chance to dine in at the new restaurant in Arcadia. First off there is complimentary parking, which is nice so you don't have to worry about finding a parking spot. I sat at the bar and was serviced by the bartender Justin who is very friendly and knowledgeable on the menu items. My date had food restrictions (no gluten or dairy) and Justin was kind enough to inform the cook and make substitutions for us. The lobster tostada was very delicious and not spicy at all just very flavorful. The chicken was the take away for me! It came with broccolini, carrots, beans and fresh handmade purple tortillas!

Yelp
Santo is a hot n new trendy restaurant, a little off the beaten path in Arcadia. We decided to go for their first day of brunch. Despite most dishes on the menu looking delicious, my initial impression was how heavy everything on the menu looked. I ordered the mole breakfast enchiladas with chicken. An egg on top was a nice touch. Interestingly enough, someone in our group ordered the chilaquiles and the eggs were missing? Overall the food was delicious and the menu is exciting. Constructive criticism: Our group of 3 was sat a table for 6, we had to move next to each other in order to hear as the music was super loud. Also, flys were attacking us and our food in the restaurant.
google avatar

Hailey P.

Yelp
I cannot even explain how excited I am to have Santo in the hood and better yet, biking distance!! The ambiance, cocktails, food, and speakeasy in the back are all 5 stars in my book. I ordered a paloma to start and theirs is one of the best that I've had, ever! We split their frijol con tomate which was tasty but simple - would probably opt for something else next time. The scallop ceviche was TO DIE FOR!! My husband and friends also enjoyed the octopus. We split the Ceasar salad and another seasonal salad - both fantastic. Then for entrees, we split two large cuts of steak that came with roasted potatoes, beans, tortillas, etc. SO YUM. It was the perfect meal for 4 of us. And then we had a nightcap at their speakeasy in the back. We will be back again soon, for sure!

Lance A.

Yelp
I tried Santo for the first time and it was excellent! The staff were very friendly, the restaurant itself was beautiful, and the food was very good. Every item I tried was incredible. I recommend trying the chicken.
google avatar

Yelp
Cool spot for delicious food in Arcadia - their cocktail options are great, I ordered off the menu and also they're able to make different types of margaritas. My friend and I ordered the dumplings, octopus special and Short ribs for dinner. I liked everything, especially the sauce for the octopus appetizer. The dumpling appetizer, I think it would be better if the dumplings were steamed than fried because the outer layer were a bit hard. Overall, good service, drinks and food. Four stars!

Yelp
Awesome high end mexican food! Have been here 3 times in 3 weeks. I am picky about my mexican food since my family is mexican, and this is one of the best in Arizona.

Yelp
Loved this place! I had heard good things and it didn't disappoint. Inside is cute, though it is a little loud. We had the frijo con tomato, birria dumplings, the short rib and the tres leches. The tortillas that came with the short rib were SO good too, I wanted to get an order just of tortillas. The short rib did have some fat on it we had to work around but it's a huge piece of meat so there was a lot to eat! All the dishes were great! Our server was really friendly and knowledgeable about the menu too. I'll definitely be going back here again.

Yelp
Bomb! Loved it... Friday night at 7pm - place is packed. The valet was full had to park in the neighborhood to the East. Ambiance: Modern and open. Nicely done. Service: Friendly and unobtrusive. Food: The menu is not large, but there are some very nice selections. We started with Ahi Ceviche - so, so good. Plenty of Ahi as well. Nice large tostados come with it as well. We also opted for the Bean Dip - it is a must have, well seasoned and delicious. We split the Pollo Supremo (roasted / grilled chicken) for a main. Again, it was excellent. There is a speakeasy out back, but we did not check it out. N*joy!

Yelp
We were quite disappointed with our first visit to this restaurant. After hearing rave reviews from friends, we were eager to try it out, especially since my boyfriend had made reservations to surprise me for my birthday. Upon arrival, we were seated promptly, but it took an unusually long time for anyone to greet us. Eventually, a friendly busboy noticed our confusion and brought us water. After another ten minutes, our waiter finally approached to take our drink order. He didn't introduce himself, so we didn't catch his name, and since it was our first visit, we were hoping for some guidance on the menu. Unfortunately, that didn't happen. When our drinks finally arrived, he immediately asked if we were ready to order. My boyfriend had to look up the menu items since we aren't fluent in Spanish. I asked the waiter for recommendations, but he simply said, "the steak is good." Which steak? There were several options, and when I inquired further, he just replied, "They both are good"--without any descriptions or details. The final straw came when he took my boyfriend's order for the aged ribeye without asking how he wanted it cooked. We were taken aback! Thankfully, we managed to flag down the busboy to inform our waiter about the cooking preference. I understand it was a busy Saturday night, but it seems basic to ask how someone wants their steak cooked. On a positive note, when our food arrived, it was hot, delicious, and served in generous portions--an interesting blend of Asian-inspired Mexican cuisine. The waiter checked in on us a little later, and when we said everything was fine, his response was a casual, "That's good." My boyfriend ordered another drink, but it took a long time to arrive. Having worked in fine dining during college, I was surprised by the service quality. I didn't want to make a fuss since it was my birthday and my boyfriend had gone out of his way to make it special. The restaurant had a lovely atmosphere and the food was excellent, but the service left a lot to be desired. It really can make or break a dining experience, and unfortunately, this waiter fell short. The busboy, however, was a bright spot--he clearly knew what was going on and helped improve our experience. We might consider returning in the future, but definitely not with that waiter. We did catch his name from the bill but won't mention it here. I understand that everyone can have an off day, but this was more than just a little mishap. We did tip the busboy separately, though we didn't catch his name--a tall guy with brown wavy hair who was very polite.

Yelp
I came last weekend with a party of 3 in total. We were sat in a table of 6 so the arrangement was a little awkward and we were struggling to hear each other. The restaurant itself is nicely decorated and has ample seating. They have a bar area, indoor and outdoor area and what looks like a small area where you could have a private event. The brunch menu started on the weekend we visited so I was excited. Most of the dishes sounded very appealing to me. I ordered the pozole and it was very tasty. My sister had the chilaquiles but unfortunately they forgot to put the egg it comes with so that was a miss. My cajeta latte did not have much cajeta flavor to it. I think the restaurant is beautiful and I may come back once they're a little more seasoned with the expectation of having better service.

Yelp
Had the most amazing service for a little birthday dinner ! started with drinks the strawberry and kiwi mojito was to die for, Crudo starter was a raw Ahi tuna dish with fresh dressings and toppings served with wonton chips( i would come back for this and this alone), squash date salad was on the sweeter side which i don't mind i reallly enjoyed it it was a few greens, goat cheese some roasted pecans and dates and squash of course made me think of home on thanks giving, and finally ordered their steak dish came with a fresh flour tortilla potato's , beans , and some roasted peppers. overall was a 10/10 meal and they sent over the most delicious pistachio ice cream. the ambiance was beautiful with candle lighting all over

Yelp
Stopped in here for brunch and had a pleasant experience. The interior is super cute with plenty of standard and bar seating. They have a limited menu for brunch with very few savory vegetarian options. Beware that they will up-charge a side of say beans in lieu of chicken or beef for added protein. Good flavor on the chilaquiles (get the spicy salsa!). Had one of the best iced Americanos I've ever had! I would come back for that coffee alone . Service was friendly and attentive. Would be back to try their dinner service!

El G.

Yelp
Here for birth day brunch. Family liked it. Kid friendly. Good atmosphere friendly enough staff. Our issue with in my opinion is a big one is our food was on the colder than even warmer did. The only hot was the coffee. We are going to give it another try next week for another brunch.
google avatar

Natalie S.

Yelp
We met two other couples here for a birthday bunch. Overall, it was good but not extraordinary. My mom ordered the lemon curd pancakes. There was lemon flavor and no curd. One pancake was burnt underneath a good pancake and the waitress did not care after asking about it. They should have provided a new pancake. Service was slow.

Yelp
Incredible brunch in a great neighborhood. The food was beyond flavorful and service was top notch, can't wait to return for their dinner options.

Yelp
Hate to do this to you buddy because I love your restaurants but a group of us came in today and it was closed with no notification as to why. Totally get things happen but we did check the website and called prior to coming and there was no notice as well as no sign. I do see you updated it to closed on here which we didn't see until after unfortunately. Glad to take this down if I'm missing something and I will for sure come back to rate you properly but we went a bit out of our way to come so we were disappointed we didn't get to eat your delicious food.

Yelp
This will be a mini review, as time is short and words can't do justice anyway. I've been here 6 times now, and can't wait to go back and watch as Roberto Centeno refines his Asian influenced Sonoran cooking. In the few months he has been open, the restaurant has increased the subtlety of that eastern influence and the result is Sublime. The beautifully crafted plates have rich flavors you expect from Sonora, and some hints of flavor that you can't quite put your finger on, but they intrigue and delight you. It's all very good. Our last visit included 5 adventurous foodies and a picky but entertaining buddy who has a "safe" palate. To our surprise, he not only got it, he raved. Everything is at least great, but the Birria Dumplings in a bowl of chili infused broth that has hints of black vinegar and five spice powder, was the appetizer star. Everyone saved their leftover broth to add to red rice, clams, yams...cardboard would have been stellar in the broth. To our surprise, the market priced whole Mackerel, was huge, full of sweet flesh, surrounded by a few dozen lettuce cups and sitting on a bed of amazing beans, and "dirty rice" Sonoran style. The sauce again had subtle hints of Asian spice, fruit, and was mind blowing. Six of us shared it and got an amazing amount of food off this one dish. The price...$43. Roberto, please change the menu price from "MP", as it scares people. This is a fabulous buy, so just pick an average price. The other dishes, like the chicken with a wood smoked glaze, are delicious, the wine list has great price points and the cocktails are all worth trying. The staff can be a little uneven with service and attention, but it's an ever expanding business as eaters discover it, and that's hard to accommodate in our market. Just go...

Yelp
Great little restaurant in Arcadia. It's was a quaint venue in a quiet neighborhood. The experience was quite nice, it would be very ideal for a date night. Cocktails, absolutely fantastic. We tried the old fashioned and a few of the signature cocktails. We got some of the drinks smoked wich is always fun and adds depth. Apps were 5 stars all around. We had the Langostino special, and the chorizo costra. Both of those were by far my favorite dishes. The main courses were fine however I was tempted to drop a star based on these. The pollo supremo was a bit plain in execution but was still juicy and hearty overall with the beans tortilla and rice. Not a ton of flavor but it had high quality ingredients and was cooked well. The Lamb chops were excellent but I need some education as to why it cost $78. As many times as I've ordered lamb in a fine dining setting I've never paid this kind of premium. Maybe there were some rare ingredients I wasn't aware of? It was an excellent dish but for four lamb chops I just didn't feel like the value was there. For desert, the arroz con leche was ok. The sugar didn't quite crystalize on top like with a creme brulee so it was like a leathery skin sitting on top of the pudding. I thought it was quite plain and had poor execution for this caliber of restaurant. Overall however it was great service, nice ambience and the food was great for the most part. I'm looking forward to bringing my vegetarian friends when/if they expand the vegetarian options.

Yelp
This is a new gem! We got there when they opened, first one's to the bar. Drinks were inventive and excellent! My wife loves an expresso martini and they made a great one! The pics are of the bean dip appetizer and the lobster tostada. If you like lobster, don't miss this! It's a great value and fantastic! Service was attentive and helpful since this was our first time. Try it, you won't be disappointed!

Yelp
Honestly the food was disappointing. Every single thing we ordered was way too salty. We actually sent back the lobster ceviche - and I never send food back to the kitchen. It was so salty it was inedible. Ambiance was great though.

Yelp
Great New Restaurant in town! Vibes were fun. Everything we tried was delicious. Bean dip is a MUST TRY! So are the freshly handmade blue tortillas. Definitely coming back and highly recommend

Yelp
Everything was good. Drinks on point, food -quite possibly the best Mexican I've tried in AZ. Service was fast, friendly and knowledgeable. The server had great recommendations for both food and drinks. Will definitely come again, the ceviche alone was worth a second trip!

Yelp
This place has the best brunch in Phoenix. You must try it. And it's easy to get a table - for now. Go now before it's too crowded. The food is incredible. Amazing flavors - all authentic and fresh. Many of the modern Mexican dishes have a "kick" and you will LOVE them, but if you've a sweet tooth, they have you covered with pancakes and waffles. You will not be disappointed. The atmosphere is calm and comfortable. You can hear everyone at the table talking - but it's roomy so you feel private too. The cocktails are so creative and delicious. Lastly, the service is the best. These folks know what they are doing - and they want you to enjoy every moment.

Yelp
After reading some of the "not so good" reviews, I was nervous. We sat at the bar and the bartender was very sweet, chatty and helpful! We ordered the Ahi Ceviche and it was soooo good!! Then at Justin the bartender's recommendation we tried the Octopus and it was delicious!! We went on to the trout, which was very close to a salmon and was, again, very good! We finished with the Les Leches with a scoop of ice cream, sorry, but it was awesome too! We went next door to the Speakeasy and it was interesting. We couldn't find the doorbell on the sideways sign and was ridiculed a bit by the guy working inside "didn't you see the sign" ? lol, reminded me of the scene from Wizard of Oz!!! Be nice and install a wireless doorbell on the actual door frame and not of a sign post that spins in the wind- how about that, snarky pants! Anyway, The drinks were silly, but good. Hoping great things for this place!

Yelp
Maria was an amazing server!! The food was fantastic, the short rib main dish was incredible! Their sourdough break is next level, wasn't expecting that from a fine Mexican place. The vibe was awesome, felt like we were in an upscale family's home. Compliments to the chef, his creation of strawberry cheesecake with a tres leche insp was to die for

Me da tristeza pero mis paisas no lo atinaron. Pusieron damasiado Arcadia y Scottsdale y no suficiente Chihuahua. We had the grilled short rib, soup, and the ceviche. Voy a seguir apoyando an mis fronchis en Chiwas.

Yelp
In a word, LOUD. I can't imagine how a party larger than 2 could have a conversation here on a typical/busy night. Our service was good and we enjoyed almost all of the food we tried. We tried a good number of starters and one entree. The pork belly garnered thumbs down from both of our diners. The beef cheek dumplings were superb.

Yelp
This is a bit of a hidden gem, tucked in on Osborn and 44th st if you didn't know to look for it, you would miss it completely. Mark was our server and I can't say enough great things about how he took his time to talk through appetizers drinks and entrées in a really helpful and knowledgeable way. Unpopular opinion, but I would skip the Birria dumplings. They are essentially birria in a fried wonton wrapper and they were heavy and not amazing. They were the only misstep of the evening and even that they weren't terrible but certainly not worth the hype . Caesar salad was to die for, it had a bit of spice in it and amazing croutons. We ended with off prawn and pork belly and the pork chop both were amazing, and we would order again. We tried a number of cocktails and everything was well done. We will be back.

Yelp
Only been for brunch, but amazing cocktails and everything on the menu is great, from the salad to the chilaquiles and huevos divorciados. Service is awesome, quick, and helpful with extremely knowledgeable bartender and the place and vibes are laid back and easygoing.

Yelp
This place is a fantastic addition to the neighborhood, been twice so far and both times was really impressed. Drinks were tasty and well balanced, got different food to try both times and everything was delicious, and both visits had great service. Will definitely be going back regularly

Yelp
This place is so cute. The lighting is romantic, intimate and relaxing. We sat at the bar and the cocktails were delicious. I ordered an option off the drink menu where you can ask the bartender to make you a custom drink. I wish I remembered the name of our wonderful bartender, but she made a mango pineapple gimlet and it was amazing. We had the frijol for appetizer, grilled mackerel and pollo for entrees. Everything was to die for. I heard the owner is from Sonora or Nogales & that's where I am from, the food did not disappoint. Also the portions are family style so the cost is totally worth it. I'll be going back for sure!!!
