The Best Restaurants in Santa Rosa | Eater SF

"Chef Tony Ounpamornchai’s restaurant devoted to the cooking of his heritage regularly earns accolades for its fresh seafood and keen approach to Thai flavors. Many guests visit just for the decor. Enhanced by moody lighting, creatures of the sea float in schools and individually over the tables, encouraging you to try the Monterey squid with ginger, tomato, and cream, or the pan-seared scallops in garlic butter. A second restaurant at Santa Rosa’s Montgomery Village dives more deeply into the noodles and rice dishes of the region." - Christina Mueller

I love Sea Thai Bistro and have been coming here for years. It was my husband’s first visit to the restaurant and he really enjoyed the meal as well. The food is consistently delicious, service is good, food comes out quickly. I’d say the only thing today was that my husband’s cashew chicken didn’t seem to have cashews in it but he said the meal was delicious. Dishes are all plated very nicely.

Excellent food and portions that don't make you feel completely stuffed. Fresh vegetables that are tastily seasoned. Everything was delicious and there was a good wine selection. I was happy to see some dry Riesling from Germany. Service was very good.

If you like seafood and Thai food, this is the place to go. The lighting is fun. The ambience is amazing. Great place for a date night.

Google
This place has always been great!! It is consistently good, and the menu is large with good variety. It is a bit pricey, but is well worth it! I love the decor in here, it’s so beautiful, and interesting to look at every time you go. I always recommend Thai bruschetta, and you can’t go wrong with most of the noodles or curries. My favorite is the yellow curry, so good. The Chinatown noodle we recently got and it’s great!

Went with the family to celebrate and for a couple of drinks. We took our own wine of course. The room was loud and felt I had to yell to have a conversation. Our waiter was great . We sat next to the kitchen which I do not recommend unless your into noise. I would go back but maybe a different time.

Google
Outstanding food taste, very chill restaurant. I went on a weekday and the table was fully booked. You need to queue if you want if you walk in. I ordered the noodles and an appetizer, the taste was good, just to be sure you ate in hot condition. Do have a try when you visit this village area.

Had take away but enjoyed the interior deco. The Spicy shrimp tempura is excellent with the tomyum sauce. Papaya salad is alright. Needs Kore Thai zing to it. Drunken noodle is delicious Basil chicken is nothing great. Sweet sour prawn is just OK. Will be back to sit and dine in. Which should be a diff experiencre. Thanks

Google
Wow, pretty amazing place with a stunning decor of scoops of fishes and jellyfish of all kinds serving as lights, the food was excellent with the curry, pad Thai and rice being very tasty. There was a lot of food and the flavors were spot on. We loved this place. Service was great and the only issue was that it was a bit dark and we used our phones to read the menu.

Yelp
My husband and I went out for dinner here with our friends for a double date, and the service was super friendly, we felt right at home. Since we had little ones with us, it was awesome that they provided highchairs and plastic water cups for the kids. We kicked things off with the Starter's Parade, which is perfect for first-timers because it lets you sample a bunch of their appetizers. My husband chose the Seafood Panang Curry with a side of white rice, and he really liked it. I went for the Drunken noodles, and I loved it too; the bell peppers were just right, not overcooked or mushy. I should mention that starting July 1st, 2025, the dining area will be closed for renovations, but they'll still be doing takeout and delivery. They plan to reopen in August, and I can't wait to dine in again once the renovations are done; I'm sure it's going to be fantastic.

Yelp
Met a friend for dinner this evening. Many things were still impressive and they were the service, ambience & wine list. I had a lovely Sancerre that paired nicely with my food. I typically choose the pumpkin curry but decided to try something different this time- the Massaman Curry. It did not compare to the full flavors of the pumpkin curry and the consistency was more like a soup. I didn't plan on having rice, but it was impossible to eat this without it. I took home the rest and plan to spice it up a bit. My friend loved her pod Thai and it looked wonderful and was quite plentiful as well. We also enjoyed the Panko crust tofu as an appetizer. The noise level is pretty extreme there. We had been seated at a table, but asked to move to the bar. It was a little less loud- just really hard to hold a conversation. All in all a solid 4 stars. I forgot to take photos of the food.

Yelp
Sea Thai Bistro offers fabulous Thai cuisine, blending authentic flavors with fresh ingredients and elegant presentation. During a recent visit, I sampled a selection of their popular dishes--each one thoughtfully crafted and full of personality. Pad Thai The Pad Thai here strikes a great balance between sweet, savory, and tangy. The noodles were perfectly cooked, slightly chewy, and generously coated in a rich tamarind-based sauce. Crunchy peanuts and a squeeze of lime added a bright, nutty contrast. The portion was hearty and included plump shrimp that were tender and well-seasoned. Lemongrass Prawn Soup (Tom Yum Goong) This soup was a standout. It delivered a bold punch of lemongrass and kaffir lime, with a subtle heat that lingered without overpowering. The prawns were fresh and succulent, and the broth had the perfect harmony of sour, spicy, and aromatic notes--ideal for starting the meal with something warming and invigorating. Papaya Salad (Som Tum) The Papaya Salad was crisp and refreshing with a solid hit of chili and lime. The shredded green papaya retained a nice crunch, and the inclusion of tomatoes, peanuts, and green beans added variety and texture. It was bright and zesty, though a bit more fish sauce or depth of umami might have rounded it out better for some palates. Drunken Noodle (Pad Kee Mao) Rich, spicy, and incredibly satisfying, the Drunken Noodles delivered bold wok-charred flavor with wide rice noodles that soaked up the savory sauce beautifully. Fresh basil and chili gave the dish an aromatic kick, and the vegetables retained a nice snap. The beef option was tender and flavorful, making this dish a hearty highlight of the meal. Thai Iced Tea The Thai Iced Tea was classic and well-executed--smooth, sweet, and creamy with a pleasant hint of spice. It was the perfect way to cool down after the spicier dishes and rounded off the meal on a comforting note. Overall Sea Thai Bistro impresses with its consistent quality and attention to detail. The menu offers a good range of both traditional and slightly modernized Thai dishes, served in a stylish but relaxed setting. Whether you're looking for something spicy, tangy, or sweet, you'll find something satisfying here. Highly recommended for anyone craving vibrant Thai flavors with a polished touch. All that being said, the service was not all that great, we asked twice for Ice water and both times had to ask for extra ice, the restaurant was not particularly busy, but it was really hard to get our waiter's attention and several times we saw him standing just looking at his phone while we were trying to flag him down.

Yelp
The appetizer platter is great!! You get to try many different items and the food is and smells so good! Also had a lychee martini.

Yelp
A late patio lunch is always a treat, and I enjoyed a lovely solo lunch there recently. I arrived after the main lunch crowd so the service was attentive with fewer people. My server was great. Her runner was not even pleasant. Oh well. I ordered the "little nests" and found new tastes that I will order again. The big bowl of peanut noodle soup with coconut broth is a winner also. All in all, quite a nice lunch!

Yelp
Came here with some friends for dinner and it exceeded my expectations! The ambiance of the restaurant was super cute and inviting. I decided to order the pad thai which had the perfect balance of tasty and authentic. Also, the presentation of the entrees were super cute. One of the things that brought my attention was the friendly staff who recommended a few appetizers to us which I absolutely enjoyed including the jumbo shrimp. Definitely recommend coming here if youre in the area.

Yelp
3-3.5 stars. The Coddingtown location is definitely better. I also agree with a lot of other recent reviews that it's kinda pricey for the servings you get. We did traditional pad Thai, beef and broccoli, and the summer fire chicken for take out, and it was ready more than 20 mins before the quote time. I would have been pretty disappointed if I hadn't shown up early and my food had been dying that whole time. The summer fire chicken was the best of the bunch. I'd give that a solid 4-4.5 stars; really good flavor and everything was cooked well. Pad Thai was good, not great; 3.5-4. A little dry and lacking in flavor, but the proteins were cooked nicely. The real letdown was the beef and broccoli. It was served in basically a broth, not even really a sauce, and it was absolutely decimated with minced garlic! That's all you could taste! Beef was prepared ok, but the broccoli was soggy mush, like it was already steamed and then added to essentially a soup. I don't think we'll be rushing back, but maybe the summer fire chicken can be another addition to our easy take out options.

Yelp
We made a reservation for Saturday at 1pm, our first visit here. Seated right away, gave beverage orders and reviewed the menu. We ordered Starter's Parade appetizers, Massaman curry with tofu, and Sweet and Sour Fish entrees. Food was fresh and tasted good.

Yelp
Do not order DoorDash for this restaurant. The portions are smaller than what they used to serve in the restaurant and the quality is not there not very happy with my order and the prices are higher. Do not order DoorDash see Thai bistro.

Yelp
The starter parade, or what my friend likes to call the sampler parade was fantastic. The fact that other restaurants haven't figured out how to do this is just my numbing to me. They were three of us so we got three of everything if you'd like something, you can order one individually. I lived in Santa rosa for 17 years visited the old location just a few times and I'm happy I'm older and can appreciate things like this now. The service was fantastic. The ambience was great. Everyone was nice and kind was not too loud was not too quiet. Definitely has an awesome amount of seating. Great place for a date

Yelp
Undergoing construction so had to eat outside with disposable utensils and plates. just so you are prepared, also no alcohol. however all in all the food was excellent.

Yelp
Highly recommend making reservations, which we did, unfortunately inside seating was overbooked when we made the reservation on OpenTable and we didn't want to sit outside, so we sat at the bar, but the hostess let us know when a table inside was free, she would move us over there, which eventually happen before we got our entrées. Highly recommend the lychee lemon drop and pad Thai one of our favorites. This place is great for the family, a date night, even the bar by yourself. Staff is friendly and food is fantastic.

Yelp
Recommendations: The Lemongrass Soup Thai Brusschetta Cucumber & Avocado Salad Prawns & Scallops Pineapple Scurry (a little spicy) Goes great with a cold beer or your favorite white wine The service and ambiance are spot on. Recommend you have a reservation Sitting at the bar is fun too (delicious Manhattans)

Yelp
If you're looking for overly sweet and white-washed Thai food, I would say this is the place to head to. Most everything here is always on the sweeter side and unbalanced that it makes it hard to want to eat some of the things. I think the most devoured things our group can get through would be the fried rice and the tri-tip salad. The fish we had was super fishy and we couldn't stomach eating much of it. When it came to the curry and the basil chicken, it just felt like the food was covered in a heavy syrup when it'd reach my palate. If you want authentic and great tasting Thai food, I'd highly recommend Tipp Thai or Khoomlana in comparison to this place.

Yelp
Had dinner with friends last week and was shocked by the portion sizes they serve now. The curry is now served in much smaller bowls and nothing left to take home. Foods always excellent but we all left a bit disappointed

Yelp
Can't say enough about this wonderful place. Everything is delicious. One of the most enjoyable restaurants in the area. Only complaint, if you can consider it one, is that the kitchen and server staff are super-quick. Your food order will be in front of you within 7 minutes. If you plan to enjoy your drink before dinner, don't let the wonderful wait staff take your order too early.

Yelp
We were seated outside, per our request. The area wasn't very crowded but it was narrow. A man in a wheelchair was seated in an appropriate way. He was very loud and rude and decided that he wanted to go tell a customer at the far end of the area how to pull down the shades if the sun was in her eyes. He crashed into chairs and tables and made seated customers get up so that he could get by. He wasn't able to turn around easily, so he crashed into more people on his way back, making everyone stop eating to let him get past. His companion stayed at their table and played on his phone, offering no help. This was not the staff's fault but I feel that the staff should have said something when an entire section of the restaurant was disrupted and standing. The server just looked confused when she found everyone standing up. The food was good I had a Thai iced tea and it was delicious. I also had basil chicken that was pretty good, but definitely needed rice with it because it was juicy.

Yelp
Service was good. It didn't taste Thai. The drinker noodles were dry and spicy, not savory. The curry tasted like it had some wrong seasonings added. All veggies overcooked.

Yelp
Actually surprised at how good the Thai food is here! I was not expecting much since I was in Santa Rosa but the food here was very authentic. Service here was good and servers were attentive. The items were all decently priced too. Would love to eat here again to try more items the next time I am in Santa Rosa.

Yelp
We made reservations for a Saturday afternoon for a girls lunch. We were seated right away and at a table near the window(we requested). It was busy but not packed so we were able to talk to each other easily. The food was delicious and enough to bring home to eat for dinner! One of us was missing the chicken in her dish and they promptly took it back and added the chicken. Highly recommend!!

Yelp
We were reserved a table at Sea Thai for our 10 year anniversary with our 5 year old. The service started well; we were optimistic, seated quickly and our food and drinks came out very fast. That is when our experience shifted. We ordered the Crispy Prawns ($16) with bacon bits. My wife wanted these specifically because of the bacon bits and it wasn't apparent there was any. We brought this to the attention of the server and he explained that the bacon bits were wrapped in the rice paper. It's hard to miss the flavor and texture of bacon bits and we were sure that neither of us had any. Instead of pulling apart 1 of the 4 prawns to prove there were no bacon bits, we accepted the server's explanation and the dish was still tasty. We also ordered the special of the day, Haw mok talay ($30), which is described as a seafood and egg dish with a "curry reduction". The dish came out and it looked like the eggs and curry separated and it was curdled eggs. I never had this dish before but I'm also a home cook, so I can tell when eggs are cooked too fast in liquid that it curdles. I told the server that the dish doesn't have a curry reduction; it was like a curry-flavored broth mixed with curdled eggs. He explained that this is the way the dish is made. I didn't want to be rude and say that it wasn't made properly because I've never had the dish before but internally I just felt like the dish wasn't cooked right. Once again, we accepted the servers explanation. The server was nice but he didn't try to deal with the alleviate the issues with the dishes. Overall, I think the quality of the food did not match the price.

Yelp
Either they have some consistency issues with their dishes, or I was served the wrong entree item when I ordered the Bangkok Ribeye to go. Either way, the front desk receptionist said that I was given the right item for my order and even though it obviously looks different and tastes completely different. Paying $35 for the correct order is still very pricey but to be served the beef and broccoli entree that was priced at $18 when I paid $35 for it - now that's a rip off. I will not be coming back here again nor would I recommend it. There are better Thai places in town at half the cost. Do your research and look around.

Yelp
I had the spicy shrimp tempura and the spicy chicken larb salad. Both were delicious. I like spicy and both were just right. The waitperson was friendly and helpful. We sat outside and it was comfortable but our table was a little on the small side. It was a bit pricy.

Yelp
One of the best restaurants in our local Montgomery Village. They're Thai dishes are made with fresh, local products and taste amazing. Try their sampler board of appetizers for a real treat.

Yelp
One of my favorite spots for lunch or dinner. Super delicious, well seasoned food. Lots of options and very fast service.

Paula C.

Yelp
Very disappointing lunch. Came here today for the third time in two weeks and on the other occasions I ordered from the apps list-things were fairly tasty and as always at this place, service was excellent. Service was excellent today, too, but it could not compensate for the blandness and unattractiveness of the dish I ordered. Beef broccoli did come with pepper, onion, broccoli and beef, but the pieces of beef were so tasteless, grey, tough and overcooked that I wanted to return it (but did not). Also ordered a side of wide rice noodles, which was my first time eating them, and was shocked not only by their complete absence of flavor but also by how unwieldy they are to eat as they stick together like pure gluten. The lighting was extremely dim as well and coupled with the fact they had the fan going on a cool day (but did turn it down at my request) it wasn't even a pleasant place to sit and eat. Nikki my server was excellent so since she was I tipped 20% and would up paying $50 for my nasty little lunch. Won't be returning and will go to Coddingtown as it has been fine across the board on my several visits there.

Yelp
The food never disappoints here! It has a central location. For me it's convenient, living in Healdsburg cause it's in the mall and I can knock out my errands and get some good soup!!! They have cocktails, wine and beer. Service is always good and attentive. I like the dark dining room. It feels more intimate although I usually go during lunch and it's busy and louder so I prefer to sit at the bar

Yelp
We've been here twice this year, the first times we've been back since Covid, and the experiences were very mixed. The place itself is nice. The interior overall has a nice, stylish and comfortable decor. There is a small outdoor dining area which is a touch cramped but otherwise attractive. Prices are high for a Thai place but this is fancier and has cocktails. The first time, I had the cashew chicken, which was excellent. It had nice texture, crunchy but not hard, and a nice full and complex range of flavours. mixture of chicken and some veg. I need to get rice as an extra, though. About 4.5 stars, not quite 5. The Thai iced tea was very good but not great, a touch weak. 4 stars. Service was good, not great. Overall, I would have given 4 stars easily based on this first visit, and felt at the time it might have gone higher. The more recent visit was 3 stars overall and I can see nothing about the visit, given the dishes described below, which could have moved it up to 4 unless the main dishes were radically reworked. The most recent time, we got the English cucumber & avocado salad, which was very good. The dressing was nice, but either the salad needed a bit more dressing, or the dressing needed a touch more pizazz to liven it up; it was hard to tell which, but the salad, though tasty, definitely needed something more. Cucumber and lettuce were nice. There were cashews but not a lot and we did not notice peanuts despite the menu saying they were there. It seems that execution was a bit sloppy. 4 stars overall. We also got the Drunken Noodles and Street Fair Noodle, both of which were disappointing. My wife chose the Drunken because she wanted something less spicy and couldn't remember if this dish was spicy but went by the menu description that did not state it had chili flakes, unlike other dishes, such as the Street Fair Noodle, which I got. Although Drunken noodles do tend to have spice to them, the description on the menu was misleading. That aside, the dish was ok. It had some character and a touch of sweetness underneath bit was barely two-dimensional in character and was very blunt and uninteresting. It had only two leaves of Thai basil, despite the description specifying Thai basil, and the noodles were poorly prepared, most stuck and clumped together. It was blunt, lacking in character, and poorly prepared. Moreover, the sauce and ingredients were essentially identical to the Street Fair Noddles which I had, aside from the different noodles, the fact that the Drunken Noodles lacked bacon, and the Drunken Noodles' slight hint to something more than a characterless one-note spicy taste which described the Street Fair Noodles. 3 stars. The Street Fair Noodles, as mentioned, were basically likely a more characterless variation of the Drunken Noodles, but with bacon added and with thin noodles. Otherwise, they largely looked and tasted the same. The Street Fair really was disappointing, the sauce being very characterless and basic, with just a spicy character and nothing more. The bacon was minimally present and just barely added some character, but only in the bites which actually had some bacon; it imparted nothing to the dish as a whole. The noodles were, as with the others, largely clumped and stuck together. They were also overcooked and just a starchy mess. Again, therefore, execution was not good, although it seems unlikely the dish could have been salvageable. It was crude and very characterless. The dish was edible but pointless. I do not see how anything other than a radical overhaul could make this worth ordering ever again. 2 stars. I had a cocktail, the Kiss from a Rose. It was enjoyable and looked beautiful, but it was a little light in character. It was pretty well balanced but was light and simple and needed a bit more character to it. The rose petals, which intrigued me since I love things tasting of rose or other flowers, were just dry garnish which merely got in the way and added nothing other than a nice look. There was no rose aroma or taste whatsoever. 4 stars overall, but just barely and if any little thing were changed just a bit and it could easily have been either a 3 or 4.5. It could not have been a 5 unless it were radically improved. Service was ok. The busboy was good with the water and the waiter was good at getting our takeaway boxes and bill, and was pleasant, but he was a bit slack otherwise I am giving three stars but it is closer to 3.5. I'm not rounding up, though, because the negatives were stronger, more consistent and numerous, and dominate. Based on the positives, and its location, plus the memory of having had some good things here before, we'll go back and maybe my review will warrant a modification, but we'll have to see. I just discovered that I forgot to get pictures of the noodle dishes. That said, they were good sized and both reddish, looking the same aside from the noodles.

Yelp
Where to start, from there noodles to their rice bowls, this place keeps amazing me! i tried the Basil chicken. The crew was on point from the host, waiter all the way to the bartender and lets not forget how quick the food was out in our table! Always have a nice vibe to the place with dimmed lights to a great playlist of music playing low in the background! Its been my to go to in this first couple Winter days! Also don't sleep on that drunken noodle plate! Its just wow!

Yelp
Fun jelly fish lights. Used to live in Sonoma county and miss this place. Favorite Thai restaurant hands down. Served was kind. Food on point per usual. Coconut galangal soup, spicy summer chicken with jasmine rice. Husband likes drunken noodles and pot stickers.

David S.

Yelp
A bit disappointed with the atmosphere. We were seated as a party of 4 in a rather dark and somewhat dingy side of the restaurant away from the windows. I wouldn't go back until they remodel. My wife was very disappointed with the soup, expecting it to be as good as what we are used to getting at the Sea Noodle in Coddingtown.
google avatar

Yelp
Second time was just as delicious as the first time. They are consistently delicious! Quality ingredients, beautiful plating, and tasty!
google avatar

HOLLY P.

Yelp
Service was very good. But outrageous prices. I had the seafood Panang curry. I felt there was enough seafood and veggies in there. It was delicious. But it was $30 without rice. Rice was $3.50. I had hot green tea in a bag with hot water, $5. I'll have water next time. I do love be going there because the food is so good but it won't be often because of the cost.
google avatar

Steven L.

Yelp
They have a nice outdoor seating area that adds to the dining experience. We ordered the taro rolls from the happy hour menu, and while they were okay, the discounted price made them a decent deal. For my main dish, I had the Pad Thai, which included chicken, shrimp, and tofu. The tofu had a nice texture, but the chicken was unfortunately overcooked. The noodle sauce was extremely thick, almost like a paste, but the flavor was still enjoyable."

Yelp
I've been coming to SEA Thai Bistro for probably 10 years now, not terribly frequently because I don't live nearby as I once did. It's track record as a consistent performer in Santa Rosa at Montgomery Village is long and largely positive. Sometimes it has not even easy to get a reservation unless you are thinking ahead far enough. A sister restaurant opened later at Coddingtown mall. The restaurant is family friendly, neighborhood friendly, and a decent date spot with a nice bar. There is a nautical theme inside which borders on whimsical. The team is friendly and accommodating. Smiles and kindness all around. We were seated quickly, early for a reservation. The Wine list is not super extensive, but it is very effective. I chose Scharffenberger Brüt Rosé - something you don't usually find at a restaurant, but always pleasing - Anderson Valley bubbles. Also available was a nice bottle of cane sugar cola -- not your typical soda fountain drinks on tap. This visit we chose two appetizers: Little Baskets -- Romain, lettuce, holding as a "basket" crispy noodles, veggies, and a vinaigrette. You pick them up by hand like a taco and they are delicious. We also had Golden Spring Rolls - a lightly flash fried vegetable spring roll served with a sweet chili sauce. Both appetizers came off quite delicious and were shared by the table quickly. We decided to order three main courses to share. A long time favorite, Street Fair Noodle came first. Flavorful noodles, mild spice factor, chicken, bacon, egg, pepper, onion, broccoli... all kinds of yummy ingredients stirfried together. Chicken Fried Rice - - simple, flavorful, someone spicy. Broccoli Beef, classic Thai preparation. A little sparse as far as quantity on the plate. Plenty of food for four, with some leftovers. All said, an overall enjoyable dinner. Why not five stars? I have to say, the after effects of the meal left me disappointed. It was clear there's a significant amount of salt and seasoning and grease used in the preparation of this food. It's to be understood perhaps. But I would actually suggest that they could dial back the salt quite a bit and still yield delicious and flavorful food. When you leave a restaurant, and you don't particularly like the way you feel - - it doesn't make you wanna go back right away! So, just keeping things real and being fair, delicious food, but not quite over the top enough to be five stars. Certainly, I will be returning in the future, but probably not very soon. I can say, however, if you want a good meal, a good environment, friendly People - - this is an excellent choice for Thai in the North Bay.

Yelp
As soon as I walked in the door I was blown away the beautiful hanging fish and blown glass jellyfish. The place was crowded even though it had just opened (always a good sign) .. and once we got our food I knew why! The food is excellent - perhaps the best Thai green curry I've ever had .. so glad we came here for lunch and can't wait to come back!!!

Yelp
Paid a visit to Sea Thai Bisto tonight. The service was good, but the food has certainly dropped several notches. Haven't been there in a while and don't plan on going back anytime again soon!

Yelp
Food was amazing. And came out quickly. Nice spot. It was a group of us and we had a great time. The chocolate lava cake was delicious. Yellow curry, ten stars! Our server was nice but I feel like having to continuously ask for napkins or to clear empty appetizer plates off the table was not great. We drove 1 hr & 45 min to eat here and it was so worth it.

Yelp
A very solid Thai restaurants with very bold flavors. Dishes tend to be on the spicier side. Cashew chicken: A surprise highlight! Really enjoyed the Panko crust on the chicken. Drunken Noodle: on the spicier side. Generous portions. I wished the chicken was a bit more tender. Green Bean: The beans were a bit tough, but loved the red curry sauce that it's served in! Mango sticky rice: on the smaller side. Flavors were fine, but not too special.

Yelp
So there are some good things and some draw backs. The sister spot in coddingtown mall is WAYYYYYY BETTER. from taste to presentation hands down the best place. This spot is more expensive, catered to a um specific ethnic group and it really shows in their lack of presentation, cost of food versus serving size and in the menu itself. 2 stars for the soup which is *thankfully somewhat similar to the other restaurant. That's it. Just that specific soup. I spent an extra $18 on their *special squash blossoms. Not impressive however, they come with an Asian inspired guacamole which was the star of that plate. I hope this place can get more aligned with what they offer and stop catering it towards the customer base.

Yelp
Came into Sea Thai Bistro Friday night on March 7th with my Mom and Godmother. We got sat right away for our 6 pm reservation! I have to preface this review by saying that this was my first time dining here and will definitely be coming back. I grew up in the Napa Valley and have dined at a few of the more "upscale" restaurants and this place puts them to shame. This is definitely a more upscale Thai restaurant and for their prices, I feel like it's well worth ot with the portion sizes and quality of food! We ordered the potstickers to share and thry were very good! My godmother got the cashew chicken which is her order every time she goes. My mom ordered and loved the drunken noodles. I got the summer fire chicken. It's so hard to find a super good red curry but this was so awesome! I usually go for panang curry because I love the thicker sauce, and milder flavor but this chicken red curry is very flavorful! Just wish I would have gotten pictures. I didn't catch our waiter's name but he was very attentive despite it being super busy. Whatever they're doing, it's working because the waitstaff are awesome! We didn't say anything about my birthday but he noticed my birthday card sitting in front of me at the end of our meal. Instead of making it a big production, he whispered yo ask me if it was my birthday. When I said yes, he told is just a second, I got you! And brought back a scoop of vanilla ice cream with chocolate sauce and this really good blueberry coulis type sauce with whole blueberries on the bottom and a candle. He sang me the birthday song he was absolutely adorable! This place is a must try and I'll definitely be making more trips into the restaurant when I'm in Santa Rosa (and I'm in SR alot)!

Yelp
Great food and ambiance! We've been here several times and it never disappoints! I had the Chinatown Noodle dish with prawns and chicken! So delicious. Two at our table had the Street Fair Noodles and one had the Black Noodle dish. All lived their choices. I highly recommend this restaurant.

Yelp
Screaming busy Saturday night. Booked solid. Nice servers. Polite, helpful, efficient. 3 of us ordered: pork spare ribs, papaya salad, chicken fried rice, green beans in red curry. All delicious. Adequate portion sizes with the exception of the too small papaya salad. We each had a cocktail and a glass of wine or beer. Booze is significant part of total bill. I like the food, service & dining room. But honestly I prefer all those factors better at the sister restaurant at the Coddingtown mall.

Yelp
Friend and I ate here on a Tuesday night and the place was busy! We weren't too hungry so just shared the Starter's Parade. Our favorite item was the little baskets! Very fresh and crunchy. Everything else was pretty basic but tasty, except the Thai bruschetta. It was essentially a perfectly cooked prawn on a piece of weird toast, covered in peanut sauce and some avocado. Like I said, shrimp was perfectly cooked and sauce was tasty but as a whole did not work out in our opinion. I had a standard margarita and friend had some sort of elderberry cocktail that she enjoyed.

Yelp
This used to be my favorite restaurant but the last couple of times I have been there have been very disappointing. I had lunch there recently and did not enjoy it at all . We ordered Firecracker shrimp and papaya salad as appetizers. The shrimp dish was tasteless and fried in oil which had become rancid . The salad was not as flavorful as I remember and lacked seasoning . We shared a pad Thai dish which looked unappealing and disgusting . Lot of things thrown together with a lot of orange glop sauce on top . Had a beer with the meal . All this for $60+ for lunch . Am I going back there again , absolutely not . Service was good but I would rather have disgruntled waiters than awful food .

Yelp
Sea Thai Bistro is one of my favorite restaurants purely because of the decor. The interior is lively and eccentric with an open feel to it. Thai food in my opinion is always heavy so lately I've been sticking to just the apps when ordering. Most entree portion sizes are plentiful and enough to share between two. The noodles are a must try and the salads are so packed with flavor. My go to salad is the English cucumber with avocado. It keeps me full for hours and I almost always have left overs. I live close by and order take out regularly. Service is always great and take out orders have always been accurate. 10/10.

Yelp
Walked in on a busy night and got sat in a timely manner. The food came out hot and quick! We were served by many people so we always got what we needed when we needed. You'll have left overs that's for sure!

Yelp
Well I've been to Sea Thai 3x and it's off the list. Last night we ordered pad Thai and it was salty to the edge of inedible. I make a great Pad Thai but wanted the ease of take out. Never again

Yelp
The food is always good and reasonable prices. The wait staff is always great! I love ambiance, I like the jellyfish lights!
